Local Storage Used When Using iMatch?

I'm using iMatch and streaming music to my iOS device. I'm curious if I'm using local storage space on my iOS device when doing so, and if so, is there a way to clear space as needed?

When you play (stream) songs directly from iCloud using iTunes Match rather than downloading them first, they are stored in cache memory on your phone. The cached songs are likely what you are seeing as taking up your space when you connect it to iTunes. iTunes Match is designed to automatically start deleting your oldest, least played songs when your phone's memory starts getting full. If you want to clear this memory manually, go to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open and tap Music, tap Edit, then tap next to All Music. See if that clears the space as reported in iTunes.

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie. Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with. The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad. You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.

It depends on how long you are on line. What you could do is reset your data usage in settings/general/ usage and then start your FaceTime session and check usage after your session

Kerberos local DC problem when using screen sharing

Hi,
this is a brand new Mac Mini server with preinstalled ML and Server.app 2.2.1.
I started the following services: DNS (automatic), OpenDirectory, Sharing, Web and Mail. One additional user and that was it.
After this configuration session, Kerberos seems to be in a non-operable state. See the information below. I can log in locally, can access a share (similar LKDC related error message as below), mail and screen share. But screen share takes ages to start and gives some nasty error messages.
I have almost no knowledge of Kerberos and could use any help to fix-up the Kerberos configuration, preferably without reinstalling.
If there is anything else you need to see about the server configuration, please ask.
Turnin OD off and on again did not change anything. Keeping it off removes the error (obviously) but I think this will not be good for server operations.

Problem statement: accessing the server from a ML client gives the following KDC error sequence before the authentication succeeds. This can take 20-30 seconds.

Apparently there is something seriously wrong with the Kerberos local data cache:

The Kerberos part of the server open directory settings:

So far all fits AFAIK and the domain is also correct.

After a night of experimentation, I found a workaround but do not know if this simply avoids Kerberos authentication or what is going on.
It can be a domain problem except for the checkLocalKDC error that needs to be fixed anyway.
Above I used the server occurrence in a Finder window, which I presume takes as a name marvin.local.
Then I used a Go to Server vnc://marvin which worked without a Kerberos error. Also marvin.fritz.box (router) works fine.
marvin.local looks up the machine via Bonjour, right? Can this be the reason for the difference in authentication?
My domain setup is likely illegal at the moment:
local DSL router does the DNS/DHCP for local devices
server marvin has its own dns for marvin.domain.de (reason below) alone and otherwise uses the router dns
domain.de is a registered domain (mine) with fixed ip and server behind
Reason: the domain.de server will be replaced by a DynDNS provider forwarding any request to my dsl router, which acts a firewall and port forwarder.
So my reasoning was that the new server marvin should be in domain.de as from the point of view of the internet, it is the machine at domain.de. Except that during setup and tests, it is not.
The client accessing marvin however has no idea about marvin.domain.de! It uses the router as the dns.
If anyone has done a similar setup (server behind router-ISP-DynDNS), I would appreciate examples how you setup the dns such that the server acts properly from the outside world of view.
And yes, there is a MX at domain.de and SMTP requests will be forwared to marvin also.

How do I fix my homepage for Internet Explorer use, when using dreamweaver?

I have recently created my first two webpages, and they looked like they were working when I was using Firefox. But when using Internet Explorer one of the pages drop the text down to an area of the screen where it's impossible to read it. Can someone please help me out? I am using Dreamweaver and I'm sure there is a basic problem I've created for myself, but I can't figure out what it is! This is the webpage I'm having problems with: www.haanshuus.no.

I don't think this has anything to do with the conditional comments.
The problem is with your layout approach. Trying to precisely fit content over a very large background image never works as planned. If you increase text size in any browser (Zoom text only, Ctrl+++), your black content spills out of the gray box into the black region below. Black text on black background becomes invisible. Your approach works in Print design but fails on the web because web pages need to be flexible.
Remove your Body background image and notice how your page flows. A different approach would be to slice your background into sections to create a flexible gray box.

Applet start() not called in multithreaded use, when using JAVA1.5

I am facing problem such that,
applet start() is not getting called in multithreaded use, when I am using JAVA1.5 for jdk(<=1.4)versions.
If , I give explicit call to applet.start() inside applet.init() , the applet is loaded, else it hangs.

Are you confirming your POP account is selected as the sending email account before the message is sent?
And regardless if the email is a new email or is replying to or forwarding an email received by the POP account and cofirming the POP acconut is selected as the sending email account, the message is sent by the Gmail account?
All message sent by the POP account are sent by the Gmail account?
If so, delete the Gmail account from your iPad and test if a message sent with your POP account which will be the only email account available with the iPad's Mail app is recieved from your POP account/address.
If not, something else is wrong or on play that has nothing to do with the iPad.

Local variable fail when using SIT

I am using SIT (Simulink Interface Toolkit) to obtain data generated by the model of Simulink. I need to use the local variable of the indicator to get the data out.
The interface with the mappings seems to work fine. The problemn is that the local variable of the waveform （this waveform is an indicater which mapped to the output signal of simulink and it can displays the signal from simulink）didn't work. I cann't obtain any data from the local variable, but the waveform which the local variable belonges to seems to work fine.
I also found an interesting thing that, when I hightlighting the execution process, the local variable seems like didn't work at all, because there is no data flows from it.
The software version is Matlab simulink R2011b, Labview 2011.
Below is a simple test model in simulink. It is a sine signal.
Below is the local variable from the waveform which mapped to the signal of simulink. To check there is any data in the local variable, I put a waveform to check.

Dataflow.
The local variable of the waveform is going to be empty to start. The writing of the local variable called Waveform to the indicator called Local Variable is going to happen right away. Only later does the waveform get any data. But by then the first part has already exectued never to be run again.

How can I retain the local user name when using imported network tags?

I am using network tags that have been imported from a remote DSC module 6.1 application. I would like to retain the remote user in the tag records instead of whoever is logged in locally. Is this possible?

Why won't FireFox open local .html files (when using "open file")?

I teach hand coding and use FireFox to grade my students work. I also tell them to use this browser to review their own work. If they cannot navigate to their files on their desktop I will have to switch to another browser. I know it is something from the latest version... as I have been using FireFox for the last 5 years as my classroom browser of choice.

Firefox should still be able to open files using open files.
I use Windows so things may differ slightly but the option to open files is available but not visible by default, I can get the option to browse for files using: keyboard keys'''Alt , F , O'''
My directory structure and path may differ slightly but I am also able to key directly into the location bar something such as '''''file:///C:/'''''
A third option would be simply to click on the relevant HTML file and use the option to open, or open with Firefox. Such files may also be bookmarked.

Iam using SCXI-1102b module in my application & in my scan list I have configured channels randomly(i.e ob0!sc1!md1!0 in first index & ob0!sc1!md1!5 in 2 nd index)when i do this iam getting Error 10370.But if i configure the channels in sequence order it's working fine.What could be the reason?

In order to scan these channels, you must scan channels 0 through 5 and discard the other channels data (ie. ob0!sc1!md1!0:5)
Otherwise, you could create Virtual channels and then just list the names of the two channels or you could move to using DAQmx.

Which protocol to use when using Airport Express as a travel router?

I plan to use my new Airport Express mainly as a travel router. When I create a network, should I configure it to use PPPoE or DHCP? Basically, when I get to hotel I'm going to hook it up to the modem...so whichever protocol hotels use is what I want to configure it for. When I configure it on my home network, where I have SBC, I have to use PPPoE; DHCP won't work. But I think hotels have DHCP servers...anyone? thanks!

PPPoE is a protocol that allows you to log into ADSL service, most hotels have DHCP servers that will assign you an IP address, so you would select DHCP.

The printer profile should be something like <Epson Stylus 3800 Epson Ultra Photo Paper Luster>; in other words the profile has to be specific for your printer AND the paper you are using for this specific print.
Your printer came with several profiles for Epson paper. If the paper you are using is not among them, or if you are using a non-Epson paper, you have to download the icc profile for this paper from the paper manufacturer's website, and after downloading it you have to install it. Some profiles are compressed files; these have to be un-compressed (un-ZIPPed) before installation.
