Locating correct drivers for kernel [solved]

So I was practicing kernel building today and decided to become more adventurous I am going through each line and removing anything that is not specific to my computer, but I am running into an issue. Here is an example.
Hardware monitoring support.
To find the correct driver I use the scripts from lm_sensors. I do not see it in the list, so I do a search and find Intel Core/Core2/Atom temperature sensor, but there are no options to select it or anything.
So my question why? Did Arch already build this when I installed the first time?

Ok thanks, say I ran
hwdetect --modules
but I was not able to find most of the ones it listed. which is strange because if they are listed than there has to be some record of them some where.

Export to h284 or mp4 crashes system...tried OpenCL...CUDA...AME and Direct...but some success (vry slow) with softwr only. Can not export. Did cineform in 30sec chunk and struggle thru it.

  • Correct Drivers For Ethernet MacBook Pro Late 2008 Windows XP on BootCamp

    Hi;
I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook Pro running OSC 10.5.8. When I first got it I setup a dual boot with Win XP using Bootcamp.
The problem I have is that the Ethernet NIC port has stopped working and has a yellow exclamation in SYSTEM (its fine in OSX). I have uninstalled it but cannot install the drivers as I do not know what to install.
In SYSTEM HARDWARE it was listed as nForce but I do not know which version of nForce chipset is used in the MacBok Pro. Someone has mentioned upgrading Bootcamp but I do not know which version I currently have and it has also been suggested to simply re-use the drivers from the original install CD, I have them but cannot see where to get the drivers from.
    Any help would be great.
    Ta

I'm looking into running Windows 7 64bit on the exact same MBP you have, so I'm curious as to whether or not you've found a solution yet outside of the forums.
Do you think it might be that the bootcamp 3.1 update is only for Windows 7 32bit and not for the 64bit version?

Running directly ati installer is not the arch way... you have to read this

  • Drivers for Windows Server 2008 and HDD issues

Recently I have had the hard drive with my OS fail. After replacing the hard drive and reinstalling windows server 2008 I seem to have run into a few issues with drivers.  After insalling Windows, I had 3 items in my device manager that did not install properly. I was able to get the driver for the LAN port to work but I have not gotten the driver for "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "SM Bus Controller". After a little research, I believe the video card is a Radeon HD4350. With that information I still have been unable toinstlal the correct drivers for either of these items. I've tried several drivers listed on the drivers support page on HP's website but all fo them return the same error about not finding the correct Operating System. The link to the driver I used originally on my previous installation seems to not be valid any longer.
Also I can't seem to access the two additoinal hard drives (connected by sata). They were used with the previous installation of windows with no issues. They appear in the device manager but do not show up under My Computer. A removeable drive does show up that I'm not sure what it is. Previously I had used software to mirror one of the drives onto the other as to prevent losing data if a drive would fail. Is one of the above drives causing the issue with not being able to access the drives or did the software used before cause the problem?
Any help on these issues is greatly appreciated.

    OK.
I can't help you with the drives then.  That is out of my realm of knowledge.  If they are marked healthy and active in the disk management utility, then that is all I know that they should be indicated.
    As for the graphics driver...
Download and install this free file utility.
    http://www.7-zip.org/
After you install 7-zip, right click on the graphics driver file and select 7-zip from the list of options.
Select 7-zip to Extract to: and let it extract the file into a folder.  I let it extract to the file name of the folder.
Then just follow the rest of my instructions to install the driver.
Of course you will first browse to where 7-zip has extracted the folder to, and proceed from there.

    Hi:
Most if not all of the W7 x64 drivers from this model should work on that one.  Do not use the BIOS and firmware files.

  • Drivers for HP 255 G3 Latino version

Hello, I bought an HP 255 G3 in Argentina, I did a full format and install Windows 7 64bit version.
The problem that I found is that I cannot find the correct drivers for it. I entered in HP drivers page and specify this model and donwloaded all drivers but yet they dont work. I have left Wireless, USB and a few more devices that this drivers dont match at all.
Please I need to solve this, can anyone help me?
    Thanks.

    Hi:
Download and install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  That should install the smbus and usb3 controllers.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+7+-+64
I don't know what model wireless network card your model uses, so please do the following steps so I can figure that out and then I will post the links to the drivers you need.
Since there is no wireless driver installed, there should be a device labeled Network Controller in the device manager under an Other Devices category.  The network controller device will have a little ! mark next to it.
So, find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the third item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.
You can do the same process for the other drivers you need.

  • Satellite P500 (PSPE8U) - Can't find drivers for it

    Hi there,
I've been up and down these forums to no avail. I've looked at loads of forums for drivers for my P500. I've been through the support pages of the toshiba websites of australia, Europe, Uk and japan.. no luck either. I've tried to contact the ebay seller I bought it from, apparently he's out of business now. Needless saying that the laptop came without any driver disk. Unfortunately one of the hard drives died on me and didn't have time to do a recovery disk with all the drivers. So now I'm really stuck. These are the details of the laptop should anyone have any brain wave for me -
    P500 - PSPE8U
    Windows Vista 64bit
    ATI HD 4650
At the moment the biggest headache are the video drivers and my battery life is close to 30 mins without the toshiba software. The stock resolution is disasterous without the right driver. I tried the ATI46** drivers from their website but the application tells me that my hardware is not supported.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
Satellite P500 with PSPE8U model number belongs to the US models and therefore all drivers and tools you can find on Toshiba US page:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com
Just check the bottom side of your notebook again for exact model number like P500-S1234, then you can find the correct drivers for you model. :)

  • MS6178 Onboard Sound Drivers for Win98?

    Hi,
I recently had to install Windows 98 (1st edition) on my computer and am having difficulties locating the Drivers for the Onboard Sound for this particular version of Windows and my MS 6178 Mainboard.  I have managed to find them for Windows 98SE and attempted to install those ones, but it keeps on telling me that my OS is the wrong version.  I have searched this website, but just cannot find any for Win 98, and not for Win98SE.  Can anyone here help?  Thanks!

    Try http://www.Driversguide.com
Use the basic search enter Soundmax and set the operating system to Win98.
You should find what you're after.
    Try http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=dosearch&qm0=soundmax&qa7=1399&dp=2&sm=b&jmd=and&fzz=d
you have to register firts, but it costs noothing (and there's no junk email)
    cheers

If you are using a Linux 2.4 kernel, please make sure
you either have configured kernel sources matching your
kernel or the correct set of kernel headers installed
    on your system.
If you are using a Linux 2.6 kernel, please make sure
you have configured kernel sources matching your kernel
installed on your system. If you specified a separate
output directory using either the "KBUILD_OUTPUT" or
the "O" KBUILD parameter, make sure to specify this
directory with the SYSOUT environment variable or with
the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.
Depending on where and how the kernel sources (or the
kernel headers) were installed, you may need to specify
their location with the SYSSRC environment variable or

    Hello,
I'm kind of a noob and am trying to get follow the directions from the Nvidia wiki on installing on a custom kernel.  I'm trying to use the abs method to install on kernel26rt version 2.6.33rt.  I followed directions exactly and am getting an error that I didn't find on any other posts.  Can you please take a look?  Here is my terminal:
