Console is providing error message : CoreLocation: CLClient is deprecated. Will be obsolete soon.
And debugging do not allow to reach upto "didUpdateLocations".
Restrictions is turned OFF in General Settings.

  • Siri/map Location Issues after ios 6 Upgrade

So I updated my iPhone 4S to ios6 last week, and I noticed today that I am having location/maps issues when I ask Siri to locate restaurants near me. I was traveling for work today, and ask Siri to find restaurants near me, and the location services arrow came on at the top right of my iphone that it was working. Well, it found restaurants for the location that I last had my Maps location services turned on at. I do not leave the Maps location services on all of the time and only turn it on when I need it. So, I turned it on after it didn't work correctly, then ask Siri to locate restaurants near me again, and it worked correctly that time. I turned the Maps location services off, drove 30 miles or so up the road and stopped at an interstate exit. Then, with Maps location services still off, I ask Siri to find restaurants near me again, and it still found restaurants 30 miles up the road where I last had the Maps location services on. What gives? Before ios 6, Siri did not need to have the Maps location services on to locate restaurants near you. This is a bug and needs to be fixed. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution?

  • [iphone] - Location Manager won´t update

    Hi,
I´m just using CLLocationManager class, and I´ve found a strange behaviour. Sometimes the location manager show the last location. The steps I´m taking:
1- [startUpdatingLocation] (from work) It gives the correct coords.
2- I go home, restart my iPhone and the application and try calling [startUpdatingLocation] again, the location I get is the first one, from step 1..
Do you have a solution for this? Am I doing something wrong or it´s just a bug from the sdk?
    thanks,
    Pitteri

Installed IOS 6.1.3 last night and to do so, had to make space on the phone as it was near full.
After that, it took a dirt nap.
I have the 4S and experienced  the same "problem" documented all over these message boards. Frustrated after trying all the fixes, including a hard reboots, resets of settings, deleting apps, reinstalling apps, new apps, synching ... everything that made sense.
Finally, frustrated and wishing I owned something other than an Apple product at this moment, I decided to go back to what I did to "free up" space -- once I fixed this, the apps stopped "waiting" and started updating.
The issue was in iTunes where I had selected on my phone's settings (to be clear, this is under "Apps" in iTunes), and DESLECTED "Automatically Fill Free Space with Songs."
Solution/Issue: my guess is that the updates were spooling because there wasn't enough space to run the sync.
Thank you Apple -- for NOTHING. A simple error message "Not enough space" would have been brilliant.

  • The Ultimate Guide to Resolving Profile and Device Manager Issues

The following article also applies to issues after re-setting the severs' hostname. It also applies to situations where re-setting the Code Signing Certifictateas described by Apple has not resolved the issue.
    Hello,
I have been plagued with Profile Manager and Device Manager issues since day one.
I would like to share my experience and to suggest a way how to resolve issues such as device cannot be enrolled or Code Signing Certificate not accepted.
I shall try to be as brief as possible, just giving an overview of the steps that resolved my issues. The individual steps have been described elsewhere in this forum. For users who have purchased commercial SSL certs the following may not apply.
In my view many of these issues are caused by missing or faulty certificates. So let us first touch on the very complex matter of certificates.
Certificates come in many flavours such as CA (Certificate Authority), Code Signing Certificate, S/MIME and Server Identification.
(Mountain?) Lion Server creates a so-called Intermediate CA certificate (IntermediateCA_hostname_1") and Server Identification Certificate ("hostname") when it installs first. This is critical for the  operation of many server functionalities, including Open Direcory. These certs together with the private/public keys can be found in your Keychain. Profile  and Device Manager may need a Code Signing Certificate.
The most straightforward way to resolve the Profile Manaher issues is in my view to reset the server created certicates.
The bad news is that this procedure involves quite a few steps and at least 2 hours of your precious time because it means creating a fresh Direcory Master.
I hope that I have not forgotten to mention an important step. Readers' comments and addenda are welcome.
I shall outline a sensible strategy:
    1. Clone your dysfunctional server to an external harddrive (SuperDuper does a reliable job)
    2. Start the server fom the clone and shut down ALL services.
    3. It may be sensible to set up a root user access.
    4. Back-up all user data such as addess book, calendar and other data that you *may* need to set up your server.
    5. Open Workgroup Manager and export all user and workgroup accounts to the drive that you using to re-build your server (it may cause problems if you back-up to an external drive).
    6. Just in case you may also want to back-up the Profile Manager database and erase user profiles:
In Terminal (this applies to Lion Server - paths may be diferent in Mountain Lion !)
    Backup: sudo pg_dump -U _postgres -c device_management > $HOME/device_management.sql
    Erase database:
    sudo /usr/share/devicemgr/backend/wipeDB.sh
    7. Note your Directory (diradmin) password for later if you want to re-use it.
    8. Open Open Server Admin and demote OD Master to Standalone Directory.
    9. In Terminal delete the old Certificate Authority
    sudo rm -R /var/root/Library/Application\ Support/Certificate\ Authority/
This step is crucial because else re-building you OD Master will fail.
    9. Go back to Server Admin and promote the Standalone Directory to OD Master. You may want to use the same hostname.
    10. When the OD Master is ready click on Overview and check that the LDAP and Keberos Realm reflect your server's hostname.
    11. Go back to Workgroup Manager and re-import users and groups.
NOTE: passwords are not being exported. I do not know how to salvage user passwords. (Maybe passwords can be recovered by re-mporting an OD archive - comments welcome! ).
    12. Go to Server App and reset passwords and (not to forget) user homefolder locations, in particular if you want to login from a network account!
If the home directory has not been defined you cannot login from a network account.
    13. You may now want to restore Profile Manager user profiles in Terminal. Issue the following commands:
    sudo serveradmin stop devicemgr
    sudo serveradmin start postgres
    sudo psql -U _postgres -d device_management -f $HOME/device_management.sql
    sudo serveradmin start devicemgr
    14. You can now switch back on your services, including Profile Manager.
In Profile Manager you may have to configure Device Management. This creates a correct Code Signng Certicate.
    15. Check the certificate settings in Server App -> Hadware -> Settings-> SSL Certificates.
    16. Check that Apple Push Notifications are set.(you easily check if they are working later)
    17. You may want to re-boot OS Server from the clone now.
    18. After re-boot open Server App and check that your server is running well.
    19. Delete all profiles in System Preferences -> Profiles.
    19. Login to Profile Manager. You should have all users and profiles back. In my experience devices have to be re-enrolled before profiles can be pushed and/or devices be enrolled. You may just as well delete the displayed devices now.
    20. Grab one of your (portable) Macs that you want to enrol and go to (yourhostname)/mydevices and install the server's trust profile. The profile's name  should read "Trust Profile for...) and underneath in green font "Verified".
    21. Re-enrol that device. At this stage keep your finger's crossed and take a deep breath.
    22. If the device has been successfully enrolled you may at last want to test if pushing profiles really works. Login to Profile Manager as admin, select the newly enrolled device. Check that Automatic Push is enabled (-> Profile -> General). Create a harmless management profile such as defining the dock's position on the target machine. (Do not forget to click SAVE at the end - this is easily missed here). If all is well Profile Manager will display an active task (sending) and the dock's position on the target will have changed in a few seconds if you are on a LAN (Note: If sending seems to take forever: check on the server machine and/or on your router that the proper ports are open and that incoming data is not intercepted by Little Snitch or similar software).
Note: if you intend to enrol an Apple iPhone you may first need to install the proper Apple Configuration software.
Now enjoy Profile and Device Manager !
    Regards,
    Twistan

    HI
    1. In Action profiles, logon to system and recheck correcion are available in action definition as well in condition configuration and the schedule condition is also maintained. but the display is not coming(i.e in the worklist this action is not getting displayed).
You can check the schedule condition for the action and match the status values...or try recreating the action with schedule condition again....for customer specific ....copy the standard aciton with ur zname and make a schedule condition and check the same.

I can't activate Location Services after installing ios& on Iphone 5.... any ideas?

I had the same issue with one of the three iPhones I updated on Wednesday.  There are many processes that are working for people including:
    - Resetting the device several times
    - Toggling the "Dont' Allow Changes" setting under "Restrictions --> Location Services"
    - Disabling Restrictions altogether.
    - Restoring from backup
I was able to restore location services by selecting "Reset" and choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" to set the phone up as new.  When the phone resets and goes through the setup process, I was given the option to turn on location services.  I then restored from backup and was good to go.
Some people have been able to resolve the issue by resetting but only using "Reset All Settings" without having to erase all content, but that did not work for me.  It took a while to get everything back to normal, but it is good to know that there was a somewhat simple solution.

  • Location Manager Strange Behavior

    Hi,
debbung my application i have discovered that location manager have sometimes a strange behavior. Sometimes when i start to get location only the first "Bad" point with v. accur. = -1 is returned then no other point i returned. If then i open Apple Map i see that also map doesn't get point. So i must shutdown and restart Location service and all work perfectly. I have also strange issue when i change distanceFilter in the already created location manager Instance. it's doesn't work no point are peeked. If i restart the app sometimes work.
Finally i have discovered on the iphone syslog that it try to connect to an apple site "http://iphone-wu.apple.com" to download a file" lto2.dat" someone know what is this file?
    Thanks you

Hello, I see the same in my Iphone.
I search in google and found this:
"Global Locate predicts the satellite orbits for 2, 4, 7, or 10
days in advance, and you download that. AKA "Long Term Orbit" or LTO."
It's a module used in opensource gps

  • Object location manager

    Hello !
    Context :
You can register for an instance with a name in the object location
    manager.
Later, you can obtain a proxy on it with the bind method of the
    objLocMgr.
You need the name of the instance you want to bind.
The name is structured with / (like directory on hard disk).
Inside an application it is OK.
    Problem & questions :
Bind an instance from another application. How is the syntax of the
    name ?
If an application A provide an soA. How can I bind it from an
    application B ?
How to bind an instance of an application A inside an application B ?

    Jeanne,
I liked your approach to getting around the
deserialization error problem. Please clarify if this is
what you had in mind :
    1) Every Client does a 'bind' on start-up.
    2) Every Client does a de-register when they log-off.
If the answers to the points above are 'yes', I'm not
sure what the implications are from a performance
standpoint on a environment with a large number of
    users, including mobile ones.
There was a design pattern presented at the Forum (I
can't remember which one) which talked about having a
remote SO do the bind to various SO's and Clients get a
reference to the <<realSO>> proxy via this remote SO.
Somewhere in the pattern was a way to get around
deserialization errors, but I just can't remember how !
    Thanks.
    Eric
Sorry to be late jumping into this thread - I've been chasing other
    issues the last couple days.
I did not get to see <bigger>Fabrizio Genesio's presentation at Forum,
although I certainly wanted to, because his topic was somewhat similar to
mine. And Ravi's comments about de-coupling and making plug and play
components almost sound like they came out of my abstract.
Yes, Geoff, you can remove the supplier plan, bind to a distributed
service dynamically at run time, and not get a deserialization error.
There are a couple of tricks, but the code attached illustrates that it
    works.
When you create your interface, also create a "dummy" or generic class
that implements that interface. I like to put the dummyClass and the
interface in the same library, because when you need one, you usually
need the other. The dummyClass should have no "real" code, and no
supplier dependencies. Just put in do-nothing methods that implement all
of the interface methods, and return nil or zero where needed, so you
    don't get compiler warnings.
Then create the real implementation in a separate project, which has the
interface library as a dependency. The realClass must be a subclass of
the dummyClass that is in the interface library. This is essential to
make the dynamic binding work without the supplier dependencies. This
service project does NOT need to be a supplier to the client. All the
client needs is the interface library.
When you instantiate the service, you will instantiate and register the
realClass. When your client does the BindObject, it can bind to the
dummyClass, because the realClass "IsA" dummyClass. And you can cast the
returned object to the interface, because the dummyClass does implement
    the interface.
The reason you do not get deserialization errors is fairly simple. You
have essentially created your own proxy using the dummyClass, which
exists on the client. It does not matter that the proxy has no code,
because it will never get called.
The realClass is anchored on the server, and does not need to be
recreated on the client for any reason. Serialization and
deserialization do not even occur with the realClass, therefore you get
no errors. However, if you try to send the client a reference to the
realClass, other than by way of the BindObject, then you most certainly
will get the dreaded deserialization error.
    Hope this helps,
    Jeanne

When I tried this, it didn't work. Aside from the
fact that you can't dynamically load interfaces,
to the best of my knowledge (but you can dynamically
load classes which implement interfaces), the
    suggested scheme simply fails.
But you have to be careful about what you're doing.
You have to really REMOVE the supplier plan for
the service object you're trying to reference,
and you have to create real applications which
are running outside of the repository. At least
two separate applications which are running from
    distributions, not the repos.
If you do that, you'll find that BindObject
works just fine, but assigning the object
returned by BindObject to the interface will
produce a run-time error: 'This class does
    not implement this interface.'
I can send or publish some code which demonstrates
this failure if you like. I'd be delighted to
learn that I've made a mistake somewhere.
But my theory is that once you remove supplier
plan A from the application, Forte no longer
includes plan A in the application distribution,
and so your application at run-time just has
no information about class A or SO A.
    All my best,
    Geoff

  • Iphone 5 issues after IOS 8.2 update: my husband's phone and my phone get the same phone calls ONLY when we are home.  Any suggestions on where to look to fix this?

Iphone 5 issues after IOS 8.2 update: all the iphones in the house receive the same phone calls ONLY while we are at home.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

  • When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?

Admittedly, this problem has been going on since Apple released the core iOS 8 software, but it's glaring (worse) here. Let's go to the beginning.
I own an iPhone 4S 8gb and upon release of the core iOS 8 software, I installed it like a fool and I didn't know that a lot of problems came with it, so the next morning, my iPhone's internet (connected to a WiFi network) was shotty as sin and I really needed it at the time because of a Transit thing I was doing until recently. The features that came with the iOS 8 is impressive, but I also was shocked when I couldn't even listen to my music for a whole day (I fixed that when I hooked up and synced in iTunes), despite my library having the same number of songs before the update on the iPhone. Now, I've heard of these problems from a friend who apparently works for the Apple tech department days after I discovered them myself, so I waited for the next update in hopes that it'd fix all of the core iOS 8's problems, but... short and to the point, this update is even worse than the core software. Problems include, but not limited to:
Safari lags like crazy at times, especially when you're trying to type something. Also, Safari seems to not direct you to Google unless you searched for the topic again; I don't like doing that. I like typing in a research topic in Google's engine only once.
Siri is much worse than the 7.1.2 software; the assistant can't tell what you're saying 69% of the time. I'm also not pleased with holding the home button to speak to the assistant and continue holding it until you finish speaking to her/him.
Apps freeze and become unresponsive and in common cases, they crash in the middle of the night (a perfect example would be YouTube) while I'm sleeping (not 100% sure who's to blame for this, Apple or the app developers themselves).
(refer to the lagging Safari bullet) The keyboard lags on you badly and I'm not just talking about Safari, this problem is every where you need the keyboard in, including basic texting in iMessage.
The Music app apparently can't judge your selection at times, like, when you select a song from your library, it takes 3 hard pushes on the touchscreen to select it and sometimes, it randomly selects the next song under the one you want to listen to.
Did I mention the constant lag?
I'll probably find more problems as I scan though the iPhone tonight, but above are the main problems that I have with 8.0.2, not 8. I know what you're probably saying: "Why not just downgrade back to 7.1.2 where you didn't have barely any problems at all with your iPhone?" Well, apparently, Apple stopped signing the software when I tried to restore the iPhone in iTunes to that firmware, so I find it completely pointless to try to downgrade. My core question is "When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?" I know the iPhone 4S can work with the newest iOS, because, if it wasn't, iTunes wouldn't have notified me of the update. I was thinking of getting an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus June or July of next year, but if the software is still buggy at the time, I'll stick to my 4S until my contract ends at the end of 2015

Also, I've noticed that the 4S' battery life is horrible even if there's just music going on in the background. Common battery life for the iPhone is 3 hours (just having music and data active) and most of the time, I'd have to carry my USB charging cable with wall socket so I don't have to worry about it shutting down on the go and I know it's the software that's the problem because it wasn't like this prior to iOS 8.0.2 or even the core iOS 8. Common battery life for the iPhone on iOS 7.1.2 was atleast 7-9 hours on the same conditions as listed above.

  • Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1

I am facing the Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1 iphone. In ios 7.0 it works fine without any problem.I am using the EA framework for reading/writing the data in my application.Still I have not got any correct solution for this scenario. I am having a doubt that this issue is happening as because of EA framework which I am using it or do i need to change any settings.Could someone tell me the solution for this problem?

1.I am using an external Bluetooth kit by which I will send the command through my iphone application.I will communicate with the external Kit through a command that writes and reads the data using External Accessory framework. In lower version except IOS 7.1 i was able to communicate properly without any issues. In EA framework implementing a delegate method I could able to write/read a data.
    2) Right now I am facing an issue only in ios 7.1 where I was not able to read any data from the external Bluetooth Kit.I have researched regarding this issue in all the sites I got to know some information that because of EA framework issue in ios 7.1 where I am able to communicate. But still I have a confusion that its happening because of EA framework or any other ios issues.

  • Power Mac G5 DP1.8GHz - Bad Logic Board or Power Management Issue?

I have a Power Mac G5 DP1.8GHz/1.5GB/80GB which I bought non-working. It has not yet been disassembled or examined by a certified tech. This is it's issue (which replicates): the computer powers on. It makes a single warning tone, then the LED flashed at least 15 times (too fast to count). Then the posting chord is heard. Hard drive spins up. Then nothing (no video). Won’t boot from any disk. I have changed the RAM and tested the RAM banks with known-to-be-good RAM from another DP1.8GHz G5. The warning tone stopped once or twice after this switch, but then it didn’t chime. I changed the PRAM battery, but not with as new one. However, after installing the used one and then resetting the PMU, it displayed video briefly for the first time. While installed in the other 1.8GHz G5, the hard drive was formatted, given a clean install of OS X 10.4.11, and then moved into this computer where is never mounts. The computer is not accessible through TDM.
Do I have a bad logic board? Bad CPUs? A power managment issue? A RAM issue?

Through my own trial and error troubleshooting, I have found the CPUs to be in good working order and the logic board passes the Apple Service Diagnostic every time. Despite the installation of numerous pairs of modules that worked in another DP1.8GHz, the computer has a RAM issue-it gives the "no good RAM" tone most of the time when it powers up (after a PMU reset it does not). Also the computer boots from disk or into Open Firmware but the disk utility can't see either hard drive so I may have a bad SATA controller.

  • Color Management issues with Illustrator

Can someone help me figure out the color management issues I'm getting when printing on an Epson 3880 from Illustrator?
The image comes out severely red as evident on the face. I'm not getting the same problem when printing from Photoshop, even though I set same paper profile in printing dialog box.
I attached two printed picture (one from Photoshop CC, and one from Illustrator CC) that I took with my iphone so that you can see the printed result.  Even when I try to simulate same thing using illustrator soft proofing process, the soft proof does not show me anything close to how it gets printed out. And I tried all device simulations to see if any would match it. Im using  CMYK SWOP v2 for Color space in both programs.

    Dougfly,
Only an hour wasted? Lucky you. Color is an incredibly complex subject. First, forget matching anything to the small LCD on the back of your camera. That's there as a basic guide and is affected by the internal jpg algorithm of your camera.
2nd, you're not really takeing a color photo with your digital camera, but three separate B&W images in a mosaic pattern, exposed thru separate red, green and blue filters. Actual color doesn't happen until that matrix is demosaiced in either your raw converter, or the in-camera processor (which relies heavily on camera settings, saturation, contrast, mode, etc.)
Having said the above, you can still get very good, predictable results in your workflow. I have a few color management articles on my website that you might find very helpful. Check out the Introduction to Color Management and Monitor and Printer Profiling. In my opinion, a monitor calibration device is the minimum entry fee if you want decent color.

  • GMail issues in iOS

I have been frequently running into an issue that iOS mail can't get e-mail.  I get the error "Cannot Get Mail, the user name or password for Gmail is incorrect"  I can delete the account and set it up again in settings and have no problem but then it won't fetch my mail.  issue occurs on both my iPad Air and iPhone 5S both running iOS 7.12.  I have no problem in Mac Mail or in a browser.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks!

Sadly, this does not appear to be the issue.  After a day with it working, I now get the same error regardless of how I try to connect (other than through the browser).  OS X on two computers, iOS on an iPad and an iPhone.

  • Is there an issue with iOS 8.2?

It seems like there are a lot of people that are experiencing issues with iOS 8.2.  I guess it was just a coincidence that this happened to me when I unknowingly updated my iTouch out of the box.
Missing songs and playlists after update
Nothing has worked to fix this.  Is there an Certified Apple representative on this board that can address this with all of us?  If so, what is the timeframe for fixing these issues?

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
