Location of EUL for performance
Hi All,
We are trying to implement a reporting server, using both Discoverer and Oracle reports, to reduce the performance impact on our production database.
Assuming we have the following configuration...
We have two servers, serverA and serverB. serverA has our production database running on it, called ORCL and serverB has our active dataguard (physical standby) called ORCL_ADG running on it, being a read only copy of ORCL. Both databases are 11.1.0.7, running on Solaris.
Knowing the Discoverer writes performance stats away to the EUL, we will not be able to have the EUL on ORCL_ADG. Out iniital plan is to create another database instance, ORCL_REP on serverB that will contain the EUL.
My concern regarding performance comes in here...would it be better to create synonyms in ORCL_REP for all database objects in ORCL_ADG, and have the EUL reference the synonyms, or would it be better to have the EUL, on ORCL_REP, point directly to the database objects on ORCL_ADG.
Any insight into this would be appreciated.

Hi,
Firstly, I would question why you want to implement a reporting server. The resources used by Discoverer and Oracle reports can be clamped down using Resource Groups and/or RAC nodes so that Discoverer and reports do not impact other processes. Generally it is better for the performance point of view to put all your eggs in one basket and manage the resources correctly.
You will not be able to locate the EUL on a read only database because Discoverer needs to update the EUL when workbooks are opened. You can located the EUL on another database and run all your reports through a database link but then you are likely to encounter performance issues. Even through all the database objects you are using in the reports are on the report database under some circumstances the query wil be processed locally, so that all the data is moved to the local database before the rows are joined. If you do take this approach then you should just point the EUL directly at the remote database objects. Synonyms do not work well in the EUL and are generally replaced with the folder is refreshed.

First, I suggest you download
Microsoft Safety Scanner or
Malicious Software Removal Tool to run a full scan.
The error messages here seems to be caused by the corrupted registries, which related with the folder association.
You may take a try to merge the following registry settings to reset the folder association, before that, remember to backup your registry settings first:

When I start the Admin and Managed server ..I get below warning message.

I know that weblogic server is unable to locatie datasource1.xml file at <SOA_HOME>/user_projects/domains/base_domain/config/jdbc
Is there any way to to get rid off from this error? I tried to delete datasource from weblogic Admin console, but get below error:

All changes have been activated. No restarts are necessary.

AbAre you starting servers with the root user? make sure that using whichever user you are starting server, it has full access on MW_Home and it's sub-directories. You may consider raising a support SR.

According to the code which you have written, there is no value in table IT_DSO_TABLE when you are trying to read the values.And after the read statement you have given a condition for sy-subrc. Hence the select statement is actually not even getting executed. *Also you have not assigned the final value back to the ResultPackage.*_

Model wage type for performance pay and additional pay
Hi gurus,
my client wants performance pay and additional pay in the additional payments. I am confused what model wage types to be copied for this. i tried copying m2sf for these but the prob is if if the employee is joining in the mid of month say 15th , then if i am trying to give performane pay of 10,000 rs then it is calculating only 15 days pay n giving 5000 in the payroll n payslip.
if i try to copy the other wage types like m200,m281 n m282, i have the same problem . but if i copy m280 for both of these w.ts ,then it is giving the flat amount irrespective of the joining date of employee. but my question is does it have any implications on the calculation of the tax. coz i observed different model wage types deduct different amounts of tax. i.e if i copy m281 for performance apy n give the value as 10,000 then ,it give some x amount of tax on 10,000 similarly if i copy some other model w.t , for same amount of 10,000 it gives some other amount of tax.

ITunes installation error: does not have program associated with it for performing this action
Repeated tries to install iTunes continues to fail. Installing on Acer laptop using Windows 7.
Error: does not have program associated with it for performing this action
We have done the following: open Default programs, clicked associate a file type, clicked on change program button and selected a program to open with and clicked OK/enter.
The installation continues. we get to the finish window; click finish.
Next error: iTunes has been installed incorrectly.
So, what do we do to get iTunes working?

Unable to locate Spring NamespaceHandler for XML schema namespace
I am not sure if this is the best practice approach but this is the problem I am ruining into. Below, I explain what I am doing:
1) What I am doing:

Based on the oracle incubator example (http://coherence.oracle.com/display/INCUBATOR/Processing+Pattern+Examples); I am running a server and submitting tasks through a proxy application that submits them to ProcessingPatternConfigurator; let's call my task processReport.
a) my processReport is using spring and ibatis together, I created a utility static class to obtain a spring context and retrieves beans using the following lines ( see exhibit "A1 and A2" below).
b) when my task calls the context and that spring loads, it is failing with the error show in exhibit "B".
I suspect I am missing a lib? I googled the error and searched you site but could find a meaningful discussion on it. I guess my question is if this is not the best approach, how do I integrated with spring initializing beans and setting up ibatis framwork, providing beans and database access through Ibatis for each task ruining on the grid (processReport).

</bean>My guess is that something is broken in the configuration of the cacheServer and its not finding
all of the dependencies that your process pattern application needs. Probably the best way
to debug this stuff is to define a static main in your runnable task which will make the call
to the run() method and invoke it as the main class using the identical settings (classpath,
run directory) that you are using to launch the Coherence cache server.

Hi,
We have a server where powershell gives an error. The shortcut or the context menu for start button (replaced cmd in context menu) gives an error saying "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action".
In some events, like going to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System Tools\Windows PowerShell.lnk and opening it results in bupkus. Nothing happens.
Browsing to C:\Windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\ and running powershell.exe directly or opening cmd.exe and typing powershell <enter> runs powershell as it should.
What gives?

After creating an application for a WebDynpro project, when I execute the project (Deploy New Archive and Run) the application I am receiving then following error message.
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in folder options in control panel."

RaviMaybe the problem its on the Run part. It is supposed to open a navigator and go to the URL of the application you just deployed.
Try deploying on one step and then Running on other.
If it is the Run then open the navigator and test your App.
