Location of Java APIs?

Hi,
I expect I'm being completely thick, but I can't for the life of me find the Oracle JavaMail APIs so that my Java programs can talk to OCS. Is there somewhere I can download them from?
TIA
Richard

Hi, Bryan, there are 4 links that should help:
1. CDC API comparison chart:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/cdc-packages-150013.pdf
(See especially column for "FP 1.1 JSR 219" which is the same as the Java ME/CDC/Foundation Profile 1.1.2 found in ADF Mobile)
2. Javadoc of APIs in CDC/Foundation Profile Libraries:
http://docs.oracle.com/javame/config/cdc/ref-impl/fp1.1.2/jsr219/index.html
3. Javadoc of APIs in JDBC for CDC:
http://docs.oracle.com/javame/config/cdc/opt-pkgs/api/jsr169/index.html
4. Documentation about Java ME CDC/Security Optional Package:
http://docs.oracle.com/javame/config/cdc/cdc-opt-impl/ojmeec/1.1/custom/html/security.htm
(NOTE: OJEC or aka OJMEEC is about the same as the Java ME CDC/Foundation Profile/SecOP found in ADF Mobile)
I will also cross post to the ADF Mobile team blog (blogs.oracle.com/mobile) with this info.

  • Oracle 11g Standard Edition + Locator Java API

    We have Oracle 11g Standard which includes the Oracle Locator package, but not the Oracle Spatial.
    I would like to use the Oracle® Spatial Java API in my java code, but am unsure of the licensing implications of this.
    I require some form of java api in order to access the geomettry objects stored in the database. Oracle do not allow the download of the java files seperately. I was unable to find any reference to a 'Oracle Locator Java API'
    Could someone let me know what exists in terms of Java API's, what i am entitled to use under the current licensing rules, and where I can download the necessary source/jar files?

    Thanks for letting me know the location of the jar files, that will at least help me get things going.
    I am still concerned about licensing issues, as your reply appears to contradict itself:
    "There is no licensing issues if you just want to use Oracle Spatial Java API(sdoapi.jar) with your spatial data in the Oracle 11g Standard DB."
    and
    "You cannot use some oracle spatial features (PL/SQL packages and their java APIs) in the standard edition."
    I could use some clarification on this. I'm currently assuming that you mean I can legitimately use the spatial java API with any features I have available within the 11g Standard DB (i.e Oracle Locator subset of the Oracle Spatial package), but that I can't take that for granted, especially considering how militant Oracle are being over licensing and patents these days.

  • Performance of Java API 2

    Hello,
    we are currently using Java API 2 that comes with MDM 5.5 SP5 (Build 5.5.42.65) to read extended information from the mdm repository.
    Our process:
    We are export every product as a XML file over the MDM Syndicator and enrich this file with extended information from the API (This step is needed because we cannot export all data by the Syndicator, for example multilingual attributes / some product data like textblocks / id's for incremental updates ...).
    Actually the performance is really bad, we need ca. 10-15 secs to process one file, that is really frustrating when you have stored near 70.000 products in your repository.
    Are there some tricks to improve the performance or is the API really so slow? Or any better alternatives for an fast export?
    Thanks for your help ....
    Best Regards,
    Jan

    1 - If you are able to use the EJB connection with the LiveCycle SDK classes (you have are using a supported java version such as 1.5_xx, your network security doesn't prevent RMI calls, etc.) then that is your best bet.
    2 - Yes, you will need the java APIs to be accessible for your application. The LiveCycle APIs have remote EJB endpoints so you can access them from another server.
    3 - There are samples that ship with the LiveCycle server (located in your LCInstall\LiveCycle_ES_SDK\samples\Forms). There are also samples on the LiveDocs page at: http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/programLC/programmer/help/000064.html

  • How to find bpel instance in 11g based on the index values using Java APIs

    Hi ,
    In SOA10G we had option to find the instances based on the index value using Java APIs like below.
    WhereCondition criteria= new WhereCondition(SQLDefs.CX_index_1 + " = ?");
    criteria.setString(1, "indexValue");
    Locator mLoc = getLocator();
    IInstanceHandle[] foundInstances = mLoc.listInstancesByIndex(criteria);
    Please tell me how to achieve the same functionality in SOA 11G using Java APIs
    Regards,
    Saba

    I have multiple bpel in my composite. I checked in ci_indexes table and it shows the instance number of the bpel process. But the em console is showing only the composite instance number. when I opened composite instance, I could see all the bpel process with instance number in the audit trail. How can I find the the actual composite instance number that I should search for in the em console ???

    PURPOSE
    This article describes the "Enterprise Java Beans" (EJB), "Java Server Pages"
    (JSP) and servlets Application Programming Interfaces (API) supported by the
    Oracle products, Jdeveloper, Internet Application Server (IAS) and the Oracle
    RDBMS release 2 and release 3, also known as Version 8.1.6 and 8.1.7,
    respectively.
    SCOPE & APPLICATION
    All parties interested in the Java API's supported by these products.
    Java API's supported in the Jdeveloper, IAS, and RDBMS product components
    JDEVELOPER
    JDEVELOPER is Oracle's Java development tool designed for coding / development,
    testing / debugging, and deployment of Java Applications to the IAS and
    RDBMS platforms.
    With the java software api's being in a constant state of evolution, each new
    release of Jdeveloper adds support for the "then current" version of the java
    software api's, if it does not already have it implemented.

    8i(1.0.0-UNIX) 2.0 1.0 1.0 816
    The IAS product contains two Java Virtual Machines (JVM) within it's
    architecture.
    They are called :
    1) APACHE JSERV servlet engine
    2) ORACLE ENTERPRISE JAVA ENGINE (EJE)
    APACHE JSERV servlet engine
    The APACHE JSERV servlet engine is an EXISTING product licensed from the
    apache group which supports the servlet api 2.0.ONLY.
    The APACHE JSERV product does not support ANY JSP's unless the customer
    installs a third party jsp engine.
    The IAS 8i/9i which has the APACHE JSERV product embedded in it, comes with
    Oracle's JSP engine (OJSP) already integrated into it. OJSP supports JSP's up
    to the specific JSP engine version documented in the Oracle Universal
    Installer (OUI) for the 8.1.7 RDBMS or the IAS products. It is also documented
    in the product's release notes.
    Oracle ENTERPRISE JAVA ENGINE (EJE)
    The EJE formerly known as :
    1) Oracle 8i Java Virtual Machine (JVM)
    2) JSERVER component,
    3) Aurora JVM
    was originally releas ed in the RDBMS 8.1.5 database with jdk 1.1.6 based java
    support.
    The currently supported versions of the Oracle 8i RDBMS, versions 2 and 3,
    also known as Version 8.1.6 and 8.1.7, respectively, provides a jdk 1.2.1
    based java virtual machine support.
    "EJE" Version 816
    This EJE, found in rdbms 8.1.6 and IAS 8i, contains support for the ejb
    api 1.0, corba, and java stored procedures.
    "EJE" Version 817
    This EJE, found in rdbms 8.1.7 and IAS 9i, contains support for the ejb,
    corba, and java stored procedures as well as the Oracle Servlet Engine (OSE)
    which provides support for the servlets 2.2 api and JSP 1.1 api.
    Note :
    EJB support in the "EJE" Version 817 has been upgraded to comply with the EJB
    1.1 api specification which includes "entity beans" support.
    What is the bottom line ??
    1) Servlets deployed to the APACHE JSERV must comply with servlet api 2.0.
    2) Servlets 2.1 or higher are only supported in EJE's OSE component found in
    the rdbms 817 or ias 9i products. Servlets api 2.0 can also run in the OSE.

    which jvm is used by jserv ?? EJE or a separate jdk ?
    The Jserv servlet engine is running in a separate jdk JVM external to the EJE jvm which is embedded within the "database" component of ias and the RDBMS.
    See the reference below for more details ...
    if jserv only support old apis, why it is in oracle's products ?
    i would assume that the oracle servlet engine was under development when ias 8i was released and became available in time for the ias 9i and rdbms 817 products.
    looking back in history leads me to believe ias 8i was a migration path to get to ias 9i or rdbms 817.
    Based upon the long history of new releases of every oracle product being upgraded with new features, it's reasonable to assume that these products will continue to evolve.
    when I deploy a jsp how to deploy in the right servlet container ("EJE") ?
    as documented in the reference below, you can deploy JSP's to either the apache jserv jvm or the EJE since the ORACLE JSP engine functionality is in both jvm's.
    there are many posts where you can see that people have deploy in jserv and they have problems because they don't use the right container (servlet 2.0 instead of
    servlet 2.2) http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006349.html
    when ias 8i came out this was clearly an issue since servlet support was at api 2.0, and the current servlet api was probably at 2.1.
    oracle clearly made every effort to get ias 9i released quickly to supply a servlet 2.1 and 2.2 capable engine to resolve this issue.
    since ias 9i and rdbms 8.1.7 are available this is no longer an issue.
    The reference below explains the architecture and understanding it would eliminate a lot of "deploy to the wrong ias 9i component" issues.
    so why jserv is bundled with oracle 8i/9ias since EJE support the right api version ?
    if in ias 9i release , oracle had removed the jserv component without any advance warning, many customers would have been very upset since oracle makes every attempt to give advance notice before removal of functionality.

    What should I do remove this problem?

    Your problem sounds like many RMI problems answered in this forum in the past, especially if the java client is not on the same container as the bpel engine.
    Usually solved with setting some environment properties like dedicated.rmicontext=true etc.

    All,
    I got an error when I tried to invoke a bpel process from java api. Can anyone help?

    Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
    My situation is that I'm running a process that grabs data from a salesforce.com web service and dumps some of the data back into my local database. The process croaks after processing 850 or so records. I have also increased my PermSize memory to 512M.
    Any ideas why all of a sudden after processing that many records it would stop working?
    Thanks,
    Adam

  • Image upload using Java API

    Hi all,
    I am trying to upload an image into MDM repository using the Java MDM4J API. I have referred to the earlier posting in this forum for the same problem I am not able to add images into Catalog thru java API. However I am working on SP3 version of MDM software and looks like the Images table structure changed a bit and the code in the earlier posting isn't working.
    I am getting an error code <b>-5586944</b> and the message that gets printed on the console is
    <i>a2i.core.StringException: AddRecord error
         at a2i.common.CatalogData.AddRecord(Unknown Source)
         at a2i.common.CatalogData.AddRecord(Unknown Source)</i>
    Here is the code that I am using to upload the image
    String filePath = "C:\temp\Sunset.jpg";
    File file = new File(filePath);
    byte[] bytes = new byte[(int) file.length()];
    try{
         //read byte from file, and set the large data
         FileInputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(file);
         inputStream.read(bytes);
         mdmFields.Add(new A2iField("Data ID", new Value(bytes)));
    }catch(IOException ioex){
         ioex.printStackTrace();
    int dataGroupId = 0;//Hardcoded it to 0. There is one group already in the repository
    mdmFields.Add(new A2iField("Data Group ID", new Value(dataGroupId)));
    //adding the name
    mdmFields.Add(new A2iField("Name", new Value(file.getName())));
    mdmFields.Add(new A2iField("Original Name", new Value(file.getName())));
    //adding OrigLocationId
    int origLocationId =0;
    try{
         origLocationId = catalog.AddDataLocation(filePath, 0, DataLocationType.ComputerLocation);
         System.out.println("Location id generated is " +origLocationId);
    }catch(StringException ex){
         System.out.println("Error while generating the location id");
         ex.printStackTrace();
    mdmFields.Add(new A2iField("Original Location ID", new Value(origLocationId)));
    try {
         //adding the image to the "Images" table
         int newImageId = catalog.AddRecord("Images", mdmFields, 0, 0);
    } catch (StringException e) {
         // TODO Auto-generated catch block
         System.out.println("Error while adding the image record " + e.GetErrorCode() + "  " + e.GetRCMessage(e.GetErrorCode()));
         e.printStackTrace();
    I am not able to figure out what is causing the problem. Any ideas would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance.
    Suman.

    Hi Mausam,
    Thanks for your help. However, the problem doesn't seem to be going.
    I printed the records in the <b>Data Groups</b> table using a program to find the record ids that are already existing. My Data Groups table has 3 records. Here are the values.
    ID :1 Value :MyGroup
    ID :2 Value :Group2
    ID :3 Value :Group3
    I tried passing all the above 3 values (1,2,3) as input to the <b>Data Group ID</b> field. However, this time, I am getting a different error code this time
    Error while adding the image record -2147483647  No message for RC (0x80000001)
    a2i.core.StringException: AddRecord error

         at a2i.common.CatalogData.AddRecord(Unknown Source)
         at images.MyImageUpload.uploadImage(MyImageUpload.java:82)
    The error code <b>2147483647</b>  from the javadocs says <b>RC_BADPARAM</b>. Not able to figure out what exactly is causing the problem with Data Group ID.
    Any ideas or pointers to solve this would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Attachments using MDM java API

    Hi
    How to store attachments in MDM repository using MDM java API.
    Could you please suggest us.
    Thanks
    Sowmya

    Hi Sowmya,
    You can store attachments using MDM Java API. You can use the following piece of code.
    BinaryBlobRecord record2 = RecordFactory.createEmptyBinaryObjectRecord(tableID);
    //Attachment to be saved
    String filePath = wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_Resource().getUrl(0);
    IWDResource resource = wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_Resource();
    FileInputStream stream = (FileInputStream)resource.read(true);
    int length = 0;
    while(stream.read() != -1)
         length++;
    byte[] b = new byte[(int) length];
    stream.read(b);
    stream.close();
    record.setName(new StringValue("filename"));
    record.setOriginalName(new StringValue("filename"));
    record.setHasOriginal(new BooleanValue(true);
    RetrieveGroupTreeCommand groupTreeCommand = new    RetrieveGroupTreeCommand(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_ConnectionStr());
    groupTreeCommand.setSession(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_SessionID());
    groupTreeCommand.setGroupType(GroupTypes.DATA_GROUP_TYPE);
    groupTreeCommand.execute();
    //Set data location and data group ID
    record.setDataLocationId(new GroupNodeId("GN2"));
    record.setDataGroupId(new GroupNodeId("GN2"));
    record.setBinary(new BinaryValue(b));
    CreateRecordCommand createRecComm =
                             new CreateRecordCommand(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_ConnectionStr());
    createRecComm.setSession(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_SessionID());
    createRecComm.setRecord(record);
    createRecComm.execute();
    //Link this record to the main table record
    Record QRec = RecordFactory.createEmptyRecord(mainTable);
    //Setting the above created record in main table record object
    QRec.setFieldValue(attachmentField, new LookupValue(record.getId()));
    CreateRecordCommand createRecComm =
                        new CreateRecordCommand(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_ConnectionStr());
    createRecComm.setSession(wdContext.currentContextElement().getVa_SessionID());
    createRecComm.setRecord(QRec);
    createRecComm.execute();
    Now the main table record is created with an attachment.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Java API for Adobe Flex(AIR and Browser)

    Hello Community,
    Sometime ago i started the project located at: : http://code.google.com/p/gwt4air/ , wich primary goal was to bring another approach on writing AIR application by providing a Java API for the AIR API. On top of that i added support for PDF and Excel generation using Java.
    I m glad to announce that  the project  will now add support for the Flex Framework
    I wrote a post about it on the main page.
    The Idea behind it is to give Java Developers a more simple way to write Flex Application by leaveraing a swing like API.
    I hope this project will be a good alternative to the MXML+ ActionScript approach and looking for people willing to join the project.
    Regards,
    Alain

    Good question, I'd like to know this myself. 4.5 has a huge number of changes since 4.0.

  • Can't display a Tile Layer using JAVA API V2 (based on HTML5)

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to display a tile layer using JAVA API V2 but i get the below error and nothing shows after that.
    MAPVIEWER-05501: Map tile layer not found. Check map tile layer name and/or data source name.
    Source: OM.layer.Tilelayer.getTileLayerConfig
    *[mvdemo.demo_map]*
    I tried with chrome and firefox browsers which supports HTML5 but same issue. Here is the html code i am using
    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=UTF-8'>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://localhost:8282/mapviewer/jslib/v2/oraclemapsv2.js'></script>
    <style type= 'text/css '>body {cursor:default;}</style>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function showMap()
    var baseURL = "http://"+document.location.host+"/mapviewer";
    var mapCenterLon = -122.45;
    var mapCenterLat = 37.6706;
    var mapZoom = 4;
    var mpoint = new OM.geometry.Point(mapCenterLon,mapCenterLat,8307);
    var map = new OM.Map(
    document.getElementById('map'),
    mapviewerURL: baseURL
    var tileLayer = new OM.layer.TileLayer(
    "baseMap",
    dataSource:"mvdemo",
    tileLayer:"demo_map",
    tileServerURL:baseURL+"/mcserver"
    map.addLayer(tileLayer) ;
    navigationPanelBar=new OM.control.NavigationPanelBar();
    map.addMapDecoration(navigationPanelBar);
    map.setMapCenter(mpoint);
    map.setMapZoomLevel(mapZoom) ;
    map.init() ;
    </script>
    </head>
    </html>
    Note: inside the body on load i use DIV Id = Map (i skipped that one line of code because it stops rest of the line from displaying in the thread)
    However, I am successful in using the same tile Layer with JAVA API V1
    Please share your thoughts as what could be the fix
    Thanks
    Nag

    Nag,
    inside the body on load i use DIV Id = Map (i skipped that one line of code because it stops rest of the line from displaying in the thread)please surround your code with [ c o d e ] [ / c o d e ] (without the spaces).
    Secondly: this is probably more appropriate for the {forum:id=727} forum.

  • Image not displayed in pdf generated using Java API for Forms service

    Hi,
    I am creating a pdf document using Java API for Forms Service.
    I am able to generate the pdf but the images are not visible in the generated pdf.
    The image relative path is coming in the xml as defined below. The images are stored dynamically in the Livecycle repository each time a request is fired with unique name before the xml is generated.
    <imageURI xfa:contentType="image/png" href="../Images/logo.png"></imageURI>
    Not sure if I need to specify specify specific URI values that are required to render a form with image.
    The same thing is working when I generate pdf document using Java API for Output Service.
    As, I need to generate interactive form, I have to use Forms service to generate pdfs.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Below is the code snippet:
                //Create a FormsServiceClient object
                FormsServiceClient formsClient = new FormsServiceClient(myFactory);
                //Specify URI values that are required to render a form
                URLSpec uriValues = new URLSpec();
                                  // Template location contains the whole rpository path for the form
                uriValues.setContentRootURI(templateLocation);
               // The base URL where form resources such as images and scripts are located.  Whole Image path is passed in BaseUrl in the http format.
                      String baseLocation = repositoryPath.concat(serviceName).concat(imagesPath);
                                  uriValues.setBaseURL(baseLocation);
                // Set run-time options using a PDFFormRenderSpec instance
                PDFFormRenderSpec pdfFormRenderSpec = new PDFFormRenderSpec();
                pdfFormRenderSpec.setCacheEnabled(new Boolean(true));
                pdfFormRenderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(com.adobe.livecycle.formsservice.client.AcrobatVersio n.Acrobat_8);
                                  //Invoke the renderPDFForm method and write the
                //results to a client web browser
                String tempTemplateName =templateName;
                FormsResult formOut = formsClient.renderPDFForm(tempTemplateName,
                                              inXMDataTransformed,pdfFormRenderSpec,uriValues,null);
                //Create a Document object that stores form data
                Document outputDocument = formOut.getOutputContent();

  • How to upload Image to MDM 5.5 SP3 using Java APIs

    Hi,
    I am trying to upload Image to Images table in MDM 5.5 using JAVA API for MDM. But. I'm not able to find particular field in Images table where I need to set the Blob object ( Image data ).
    I'm not aware of the method to set the Blob, there is one for getting the Image data.
    I have gone through I am not able to add images into Catalog thru java API forums posts and tried the code. But with no luck....
    I think this code is for some other MDM version as the fields mentioned are not present in the Images table e.g. DataObject - this field is used in the above posts to set the Blob data but this field does not exist in Images table in MDM 5.5
    Can anyone suggest the solution?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mausam

    Hi Mausam,
    Please try the following:
    // adding to a image table
    // get the bytes for the image
    byte[] imageBuf = readFile("C:\pic.bmp");
    // setup A2iFields
    fields = new A2iFields();
    fields.Add(new A2iField("DataObject", new
    Value(imageBuf))); // the image binary (required)
    fields.Add(new A2iField("Name", new Value("pic.bmp")));
    // a name for the image
    fields.Add(new A2iField("OrigName", new
    Value("pic.bmp"))); // the original image file name
    (required)
    fields.Add(new A2iField("DataGroupId", new Value(888)));
    // the data group to add to (required)
    fields.Add(new A2iField("OrigLocationId", new
    Value(999))); // the data location of the image
    (required)
    fields.Add(new A2iField("Description", new Value("a
    short description"))); // a short description here
    // add the image
    String imageTable = "Images";
    catalog.AddRecord(imageTable, fields, -1, -1);
    It's taken out of the API guide for SP3 (the example for method AddRecord.
