Location Service Problem! I Moved To A New House, and Used The Same Wifi, But My iPod Touch(4th Gen. iOS 6) Is Still Using My Old Location/Address and Not My New One, How Do I Fix This?
I Moved From New York To Florida, But Kept The Same WiFi/Router, But The Maps App and My iPod Touch(4th Gen. & iOS 6) Is Still Registering My Location In New York.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

I've followed all the suggestions for saving the battery life but the battery still discharges very quickly. The only way I can stop it discharging is by turning the ipod off, which sort of defeats the object!
It's been suggested that I totally reset the ipod as new and then set it up again from scratch. Does anyone now how likely this is to help, as it will take rather a long time?Looks like good news!
I finally bit the bullet and did a reset as new.
It was a total pain as you can imagine, but it wasn't the end of the world to go through i-tunes reselecting the apps etc to sink (it was actually a pretty useful exercise because my ipod was full of apps I didn't really use!).
Anyway, it's been off the charger now for nearly five hours and I've been using it for bits and pieces like, the calculator, internet search over wifi, map viewing etc. and the battery is showing 97%!!! All setting are as per the default start up. I haven't changed brightness or anything like that.
Interestingly, now when it goes into standby, the router shows that the wifi link has dropped. When I then wake it again the link restarts after a few miliseconds. This didn't used to happen before.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will see how it goes over the weekend and report back on Monday! -
Back up to time machine failed. Error, "Files can’t be copied onto the backup disk because it appears to be read-only". Back up has been working. drive is not read only. How do I fix this?

I got my screen fixed and the day i got my ipod touch 4th gen back the wifi doesnt work unless i hold it right up to my router. Roughly every foot I move back it loses a bar and if i leave the room it doesn't even have a signal completely. Could the screen replacement have tampered with the wifi capability? Also if it helps I switched internet providers and during the time when my ipod was being fixed a new router was installed and it doesnt seem to work unless directly infront of my ipod.
Take it back to where you had the screen replaced. They messed up the connection to the wifi antenna

I am using the ipod for music and also the ihome weather link through their i+sleep app. The ipod just keeps searching for my location.
It seems like you could have a default location set up in the ipod. Any ideas? -

I'm sure I'm the ONLY person in the WORLD having issues, but ever since I updated my 4th gen iPod touch to iOS 5 I have regular sync problems, it is slow to respond when coming out of the screen locked position and it for some reason when it did decide to sync it sync'ed stuff in my iTunes that was not checked. I know that I'm an iIdiot, but is there ANYONE else on Earth experiencing similar difficulties? Is it possible to roll back the OS to the previous release?

When I loaded iOS 5 onto my ipod Touch (5th gen I think) i suddenly lost space to "others" about 5Gb which is significant on a 32Gb ipod.
I had to do a complete reset through itunes and now I have loaded back about 150 songs of 5000 in about 2 hours.... I am flying to Australia tomorrow morning I onder what I will have to listen to !!! -
Okay, so my iPod 4th gen has been acting up. Everytime I take a picture while facing the camera, it flips my picture. So if I take a picture of my right side, it'll show my left side. It's very annoying and I can only take mirror pics >.< someone please help me!

In short, I was accidentally restoring/resetting my 1st generaton iPod Touch and I wanted to quickly get out of that, so I rebooted as you all know is that I held the Sleep and Home buttons together, and now, it doesn't want to turn on at all! When I try to turn on, only the "Apple" symbol appears ad disappears, goes back off, no power, after a few seconds. Any heard of this or experienced something similar? Anyone know any tricks if so? And, no, I have no time to go to AppleCare, especially since it's an outdated, 1st genration iPod Touch, and for that I feel no need to make an urgent appointment to them. I appreciate any feedback.
