Lock/unlock Abap users

Hi guys,
is it correct that we have to create a separate task for each repositor(/SAP SID_CLIENT) ? Or is there another method, for example to get a choice of all existing repositories(we currently have ~250 clients on 60 SAP Systems plus a couple of Java instances). That means to have just one task which offers all (Abap-)repositories for selection.

As far as I found out the LockABAP-Task is not used (anymore?) in the SPF (although available).
If you change any user-related attribute (e.g. ACCOUNTrepNameLOCKED) the ModifyUser-Event task is called anyway, so why don't use the provided functionality?!
Your request is solved if you do it the way we suggested. You "only" have to create 260 attributes (or use automatic creation and change the Jobs) and adjust the Modify<systemtype>UserTask. The ModifyUser-Event task then finds the correct repository for you.
Christian once told me this solution in another thread here on SDN and it works for me (kudos to him)

Trying to unlock the user, message says " user xyz is still locked"

Hi,
I am trying to unlock a user locked due to incorrect logins, the message "user xyz is still locked" comes up and user is not unlocked. I don't remember seeing this message earlier. SAP 4.7.
Any ideas/suggestions, please.

How to create role (contain tcode SU01) and restrict this role to only allow 'unlock/lock users' and 'change password'. I want to assign this role to admin operator ?

Generally you unlock a user (only) because actually their password is locked. So with the same access you can reset the users password if you can unlock it. You can also lock the user ID itself.
ACTVT '05' of the assigned S_USER_GRP is what you are looking for.
Otherwise with a small effort you can user BAPI_USER_LOCK and UNLOCK.

Hi,
Incase if you are having the dual stack, ABAP+ JAVA , you can logon to the ABAP system using either the J2EE_ADMIN or DDIC and use the Tcode -SU01.
As soon as you log on to SU01 you would be asked to enter the user name .
Enter J2EE_GUEST and on the top right hand corner you have an option unlock.
As soon as you unlock, on the left hand side to unlcok, there is a change password option, you can also reset your password there.
Else log into the portal with a J2EE_ADMIN role and in user administration unlock the user

PI Objects Lock/Unlock issue

ABAP User is not able to unlock the lock objects in PI , after login to PI -
> going to Administration Tab ---> Lock overview -
> in this screen user is not getting the check box beside the name of the object, so that he can select the locked objects ,check it and Unlock it.

Can you able to login into IR and ID with the same user? If yes then you should be able to see it else you might dont have any lock objects. So check it out once again. Also make sure you check the correct tab because you have locks for both Repository and Directory.
If you want to test it open IR and then open any mapping or any object and go to edit mode and then you should be able to see it in the locks tab.

Lock Frontpanel when user takes no activity in a specified time

Hello !
I have a PanelPC with Touchscreen and want to lock the frontpanel when the user doesn't make an input for a specified time. After this time the frontpanel locks and shows a password input to unlock the frontpanel. How do i detect if the user makes no input ? The VI has to run, because it makes an automatic control/ regulation of a factory. I found an example with a password protection, but i don't know how to detect the user input. Can anyone help me ?

You can monitor the "mouse events" and also the "keypress events (using the keyboard)" and with this FP can be locked/unlocked based on the time out.
Create an event structure so that it will be easy to handle the mouse events. Add another frame of this event structure which can be used for handling the timeout and when ever a event occurs on the FP you can reset it to 0

Error while query execution - Query getting locked by another user execute

Hi All,
I am facing an issue ..
When I execute a query I am getting an error message ie popping as blocked by some other user. And I able to see the lock when I go to SM12. If the other user logged off or if we unlock his entry, then both the workbook and query is getting executed as expected. What can be the reason for this phenomena?
In my understanding, in the same time multiple users can execute the query /workbook. But in our case its not allowing.
Can someone suggest a resolution at the earliest, as it is affecting the reports in live environment

The Bex Analyser (Front end) Patch is 501 and the SAP BI is 15.
The error message that I am getting while executing the query is "The object requested is currently locked by user --".
When I go to SM12, I can see a lock in the user's name.

I have one problem, i want to know about ABAP User Query ,i have one requirement my user wants to Lock all the HR Std versus Customized reports in T- code SQ01,other department peoples also see the Payslips and Hr personal reports which is harmfull to the dept so i want to Lock all the reports in Std T- code in SQ01 and i have created one Customized User Roles or Query in which the T-codes and Reports are assigned only those particular user can access the T-codes and Std reports .how can it be possible i dont have any idea about user roles and Queries .

Enqueue/Dequeue - Locking/Unlocking object

Hi all,
Please help me working with this enqueue/dequeue command. What I'm trying to do is to lock a Service Order. My requirement is to do a BDC for the Service Order Settlement Rule. So after hitting SAVE, a secondary process will be kicked off to perform my BDC for the same order. Now what Im doubting is that what if user re-enter the same Service Order again so quick. So my BDC program will not be performed immediately since it will be locked by the usser.
So my idea is to lock it first while my BDC program is still running. Any help please? Thanks.

Nope. Just 1 BDC -on my 2nd program only. Or to make it simple, I have modified ZXWOCU07 (IWO10009) to perform/kick off a call function( this is being triggered after hitting on SAVE). And this FM contains my checking if SO is now open for change then do the do the BDC.
What I'm thinking is to lock first the SO to block any user from accessing that SO, so it will do the BDC first. But I'm not yet familiar with the locking/unlocking of objects. Please help me on how to use enqueue or locking object.

Error mesage: Project locked by other user?

I just re-opened my external hard drive after a month vacation from it and tried to open my IDVD file only to get an error message:
Project locked by other user:
The project ZOOOM demo reel 10-07 is locked by the user Video (used ID 501): 2007-12-19 10:42:27-600
The project can't be opened at this time.
I went into the file's "get info" and unlocked everything to no avail. I'm puzzled. I have never seen this before. Any help would be great.

Control click on the icon of your external drive and select Get Info. Check the box that says, "Ignore Ownership on this Volume." See if that solves it.
Make sure that your hard drive is formatted for Apple. Should be Mac OS extended or Mac OS extended (journaled). But if you reformat, be sure to first move your data to another drive, because reformatting will erase all data on the drive.
If that doesn't work, use the Disk Utility app on your Mac to do a permissions repair on both your startup drive and your external drive.

Password file gets changed when an account is locked/unlocked in 9i !!

I observed that in 9i (9.2.0.8 and 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 9), the timestamp of the orapw<SID> file changes when a non-sys account is LOCKED/UNLOCKED. There is no change in the size of the file, but timestamp alone gets changed to the time the account is locked/unlocked.
orapwd<sid> stores the password for administrative accounts, what has it got to do with non-sys accounts( an account with just create session privs ) ?
Is it the expected behaviour ?

You can create a user defined metric which will query the table "dba_users" and check for "account_status" and will alert you whenvr usr is locked.
You can find the link for creating "user defined metric" at "Related Links" section at the bottom of database homepage in OEM.
