Please do let me know if i'm installing the right RPMs and if not please provide me the link for the right RPMs.
Thanks in advance!!!Are you running this on RHEL4?
If so, this error could be caused by SELinux. If SELinux is enabled, it can prevent the successful load of the ASMLIB driver. This is documented in Bug 4758215.
If you see an error message similar to the following in your /var/log/messages file:
modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting oracleasm: Permission Denied
then it is likely that SELinux is enabled and this is preventing the module from being loaded.
The solution suggested by Oracle is to either disable SELinux or upgrade to RHEL 4 Update 3 as a fix for this bug is incorporated into this release. -

Error: "FATAL: Module oracleasm not found" in Red Hat 6
Hi all:
OS.....: Red Hat 6.5 (64 bits)
I am preparing to install an 12c RAC in a Red Hat 6.5. While configuring the ASMLib, i got the following error while executing "/usr/sbin/oracleasm init":
May 2 18:23:20 oraprd01 modprobe: FATAL: Module oracleasm not found.
I configure the Oracle YUM Repository and installed the "kmod-oracleasm" package. And in the link (Oracle ASMLib Downloads for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6) i got the "oracleasmlib" and "oracleasm-support" packages, as you can see below:
[root@oraprd01 binarios]# rpm -qa | grep -i oracleasm
kmod-oracleasm-2.0.8-4.el6_6.x86_64
oracleasm-support-2.1.8-1.el6.x86_64
oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el6.x86_64
My kernel is:
Linux oraprd01 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Nov 10 22:19:54 EST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
My Red Hat version is:
[root@oraprd01 binarios]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago)
Why am i getting the above error while trying to init the oracleasm module? What am i doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.Problem solved.
I installed an older version of the kmod-oracleasm (kmod-oracleasm-2.0.6.rh1-3.el6_5.x86_64) downloaded from Red-Hat Customer Portal. Now the ASM module is loaded. -
when i show service-module ids-sensor 1/0 status
i have the following output

what is the problem and how can i recover it?
note i make restart for the service module by the command

but it remain failed
please help me as soon as possibleYou've powered off and re-seated the card and this was working at one point? Beyond that, if there is no output from the CUE console (while connected to the module via "service-module service-engine 0/1 session"), then the module is likely defective.

2015-05-08T11:55:17.757+02:00| vthread-4| I120: Building module with command "/usr/bin/make -j8 -C /tmp/modconfig-Hx4jdX/vmnet-only auto-build HEADER_DIR=/lib/modules/3.19.0-16-generic/build/include CC=/usr/bin/gcc IS_GCC_3=no"
2015-05-08T11:55:18.894+02:00| vthread-4| W110: Failed to build vmnet. Failed to execute the build command.
No more description of the error is available in the log which is attached below.
Any suggestion?I get more information if I run the failing command manually:
root@MSI-GE60-Ubuntu:/# /usr/bin/make -j8 -C /tmp/modconfig-pkgCjl/vmnet-only auto-build HEADER_DIR=/lib/modules/3.19.0-16-generic/build/include CC=/usr/bin/gcc IS_GCC_3=no
make: *** /tmp/modconfig-pkgCjl/vmnet-only: No such file or directory. Stop.
Creating the folders and trying again:
root@MSI-GE60-Ubuntu:/# /usr/bin/make -j8 -C /tmp/modconfig-pkgCjl/vmnet-only auto-build HEADER_DIR=/lib/modules/3.19.0-16-generic/build/include CC=/usr/bin/gcc IS_GCC_3=no
make: Entering directory '/tmp/modconfig-pkgCjl/vmnet-only'
make: *** No rule to make target 'auto-build'. Stop.
make: Leaving directory '/tmp/modconfig-pkgCjl/vmnet-only'
Something is obviously missing before the build process is launched. -
The project contains a dbInfo class that was designed as perscribed in the Data form tutorial. Also a frame class which has its textFields bound to the rowSetInfo dataItem that are described in the dbInfo class. The following error/exception occurs when i try to publish the sessionInfo:
ERROR...

I checked my business components by creating a default data form using the data form WIZARD. This worked fine and i found that by removing(commenting out) the code associated with the loginDialogueBox(added by wizard) caused the same error to occur with this data form.
PLEASE HELP, after all this work i would really like to see this working

But I have lots of gspca's:

gl860 gspca_kinect.ko gspca_ov534.ko gspca_sonixj.ko gspca_sq905c.ko gspca_topro.ko

The only difference I have with respect to a standard installation is that I downloaded an older version of the backport drivers, and in doing so I surely re-installed gspca.
So my questions are: where is systemd-module-load searching for gspca? How can I persuade it to search in the right directory? And in any case, why is it searching for it in the wrong place to start with?. Just in case,
# uname -a
Linux jiggs 3.15.1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 17 09:32:20 CEST 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Last edited by MariusMatutiae (2014-06-26 09:10:22)Problem solved, thanks to both of you guys. For some resason, I had a webcam.conf file in /etc/modules-load.d containing the single line *gspca*, which is not a module: both modprobe and insmod fail, because the correct module name is one of those listed in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/usb/gspca. They are called gspca_benq.ko gspca_konica.ko and so on. I simply deleted the file since I do not need it.
As for backport drivers: this site, http://drvbp1.linux-foundation.org/~mcg … backports/ has the most recent versions of Linux drivers, backported so that older kernels can install them (I understand this is not a concern for fellow Archers). Whenever I need to upgrade (mostly on Debian) or downgrade (a few times on Arch, because an older version of a driver is free of a newly minted bug) I download these drivers, compile them and install them from source. -
Reposting: Chassis Management Module (CMM) Fails to Switch Over
This post was originally posted on IBM’s developerWorks public forum (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=f9164eb4-1a74-42b3-8348-28dfa24caf... The following is a summary of the post issue and the response.
Issue:
I'm facing an issue regarding the PureFlex Chassis Management Module (CMM) failover scenario such that I have two CMM’s installed in a single chassis connected to two ports of a switch.
When accessing the CMM through the IP address, the CMM is accessible.
However, when the switch port connected to the active CMM is shutdown or disconnected, the CMM is not failing over to Standby and there is no ping response to CMM.
What is causing this behavior and how do I resolve it?
Solution/Response:
None

CMM Image.png 411 KBAh, ok. I was in the assumption the PCI connect had something to do with the video connection. But it seems like Apple wanted to reinvented PCIe...
I'm out of my territory here so feel free to ignore the following.
These are the things I notice in your Xorg.0.log:
[ 19.474] (==) modesetting(G0): Depth 24, (==) framebuffer bpp 32
[ 19.474] (==) modesetting(G0): RGB weight 888
[ 19.474] (==) modesetting(G0): Default visual is TrueColor
[ 19.474] (II) modesetting(G0): ShadowFB: preferred YES, enabled YES
[ 19.500] (II) modesetting(G0): Output VGA-1-0 has no monitor section
[ 19.526] (II) modesetting(G0): EDID for output VGA-1-0
[ 19.526] (II) modesetting(G0): Using default gamma of (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) unless otherwise stated.
[ 19.526] (==) modesetting(G0): DPI set to (96, 96)
What the hell is modesetting doing there?
And have you tried the nvidia blob? It could be that this is not well supported by nouveau. Maybe check up with their IRC / mailing list.

Calling a SubVI without providing a reference to the objects inside the SubVI?
Hi all, Suppose I have a SubVI that plots Y1 vs. X1 and Y2 vs. X2 on the same XYGraph. See the attachment. The XYGraph property node is linked to the XYGraph. It sets the line width and point style for each curve on the XYGraph. If I call this SubVI
