Log for changes

Hi all,
I'm in the need of log all the changes that have been done to a ztable. the log should be as fallow:
username date/time field changed value and new value.
How can I do that.
your help will be appreciate it.

I hope you must have found out the details as the post shows as solved. Just found this and thought you might be interested.
<u><b> For a table to be logged, 2 requirements must be met:</b></u>
1. In the technical settings of the table, checkbox "Log data changes" is marked.
              You can go to the technical settings via Transaction SE13 or via the path "Tools --> ABAP Workbench --> Development --> Dictionary", enter the table name and click on "Change". On the next screen, click on "Technical settings" (CtrlShiftF9).
              If you change the technical attributes of a table, make sure you save and also update these changes.
1. Logging is also set in the system profile. To do this, set profile parameter rec/client (lower-case!) to one of the following values:
OFF: Generally no recording (e.g. central system switch)
nnn: Logging for client-specific tables only in client nnn
mmm,nnn,ppp ...: Logging for client-specific tables in the clients listed (a maximum of ten).
ALL: Logging always, for client-specific tables in all clients. Caution: This setting is sensible only in special cases. Note that with the "ALL" setting or when upgrading all test clients, (including SAP client 000) changes will be recorded in the log file.
              The default settings is OFF - that means, no default logging takes place.
              If rec/client is not OFF and logging is active in the dictionary, non-clientspecific tables are always logged. This setting is usually used in the period of the installation and test phase only.
              Please make sure that the values for rec/client are the same on all servers of a system. Only then logging will work correctly.
              With the production start, logging tables relevant to account reporting should be activated (obligation to prove due to national orderliness requirements)

I am configuring the following Tables for maintain logs for changes in infotype data.
V_T585A, V_T585B and V_T585C
While configuring V_T585B, when i input * in 'field name' column it gives me an warning message " All data fields in **** infotype 31 will be deleted.
Please let me know, what does this warning message means?
Also, How is the report RPUAUD00 read?

Hi Simran,
you are not suppose to give the IT 0031-Reference Personnel Numbers in these tables. why because this will done at the time of Employee hiring only and we don't change this. if you change you will lost the old data in the IT.
Normally we assign only the IT which we change frequently for the master data. example like 0 1 2 7 8 9 27 582 - 589 2001 2006.
if you are configuring today means from today on-wards any changes had made to these IT's you can see in the report. before changes will not be seen. in the report you have to choose either long-term document / short-term document and remaining fields as per the requirement.

Log for changes done before posting LIV in Tcode MIRO

By default data will be fetched from PO/GR for LIV however our users are changing few details such as payment terms, tax code, vendor code, vendor invoice amount etc., before posting LIV in tcode MIRO. We don't have any log for these changes done by our users.
We want to know what are fields which have been changed by our users at the time of doing LIV (i.e. before posting LIV).
Can any one help us in this regard.

If you know those fields, you can find the differences for those field in table EKKO and EKPO for PO, the similar value will be available for IR in table RBKP and RSEG.
Like as payment term, The payment term is saved in table RBKP - ZTERM for MIRO.
The same will be available in table EKKO - ZTERM for PO.
If the value for both fields are same, then user has not changed the field at the time of MIRO.
If the value mismatched, then user has changes the value in MIRO.
In this way, you can find the differences for other fields.

Log for changes in the SAP table

Hello All,
I have a SAP table in which we want to log all the changes being made by the number of users like modifying some record or adding a new record.
Now What I have done is in the SE11 under technical settings I have checked the checkbox which is "Log data changes", Needless to say I have the developer access key to the system.
Now I want to test whether changes being made by me in the SAP table are logged somewhere or not I want to know where can we see the changes being logged made by me.
Is there a tcode to see the changes being made in the table or a SAP table exists for this.

Change log for material number range

Hi All,
can you guys please tell me how to find the change log for changes done in material type number ranges that is the thru tcode MMNR although its a customization change but as its for number ranges so there is no transport request involved so it is not possilble to see the import of transport request

in transaction MMNR
from menu GOTO > change log
or in transaction SNUM
from menu GOTO > change log

when ever there is error we check using
-> BPIA
-> ECATT error log or BC set error log
-> SECATT tcode can be use dfor the purpose
With every Package there is a installation guide which has further information for the things about the package being used.

How to determine Default Table Logging (log data changes )

Does anyone know how to view exactly what tables and related data fields have change logging enabled by default? I know that some of the standard reports will produce "edit reports" show who changed what field, when ,old and new values, etc, but I don't know how to determine where the data is retrieved from.
For example: If I look in the ABAP Dictionary at table LFA1, technical settings, it shows that log data changes is not "checked" or enabled. But if I run the standard AR Master Data Change Report, I get output showing valid field changes.
I have seen other threads that refer to SCU3 but I can't determine the above this from report.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I am aware, these are 2 different things.
There is table logging which is at the table level & if activated (i.e. it's listed in table DD0LV, PROTOKOLL=X and the table logging parameter is set in the system profile/s).
The second one is programatical logging for change documents when data is maintained though a program that has been written to include a log. I'm not sure how to identify a complete lit of these though unfortunately.

Activation of History Log for Material Classification CLASS TYPE 001

I've a question about this object.
We need to launch RCCLUKA2 to activate multiple objects registration and to generate history log for changes in classification of materials (AUSP table).
Reference are sap notes 942691 and 943559.
I FOUND OUT THERE'S a big problem. RCCLUKA2 change AUSP objek key, using internal number range from INOB objects.
There're hundreds of custom reports and other stuff that read AUSP directly with Matnr Code as objek key.
I think that's a serious problem, isn't it? Or is there any solution about ?

This report RCCLUKA2 does 5 steps.
1 step: activation flag for multiple objects in table TCLA and TCLAO only for input class type (in this case 001 -> MATERIAL);
2 step: download of KSSK data and AUSP data in two text files (name defined in input parameters);
3 step: delete all KSSK data and AUSP data for class type 001, 10.000 records every loop;
4 step: create reference object in table INOB for all records inserted in KSSKFILE, inserting all records in KSSK table at END of INOB upgrade;
5 step: inserting record in AUSP table from all records inserted in AUSPFILE, using INOB objectid created in step 4.

We think that this process is a little bit dangerous in production system, due to procedures that always run, in background or foreground.
I've found a work around that creates an implicit enhancement for LCLVFF10 form FILL_REDUN.
I think that it's not suggested to create this enhancement because of the missing flags in TCLA/TCLAO and missing reference in INOB and KSSK database.
This enhancement would create records only in CDHDR and CDPOS with a general key object reference (such concatanate matnr(without-letters) mafid and atinn code).
This enhancement couldn't also activate the standard function of reading document changes from standard menu in MM03/MM02/MM01, etc..
Do you have any suggestion about this?
RCCLUKA2 is a very old report. SAP didn't give any advice or upgrades for this need?

changes in values for a characteristic can be monitored in CL20N but as for MM02/MM03 transaction only for class type 023.
For class type 001 or 300 the change document isnu2019t available.

Change Logs for TCODE -- FILE

Hi Friends,
    Please help me in finding the change logs for the TCODE FILE,
    i.e The changes made to the Logical paths
   I had tried Utilities---->change logs , but unfortunately i cannot find any changes logs
   But there are changes made to the logical paths in my system but i cannot see them in change logs

rec/client is a profile parameter, you can view the settings in transaction RZ10. However I find program RSPARAM more useful, the report lists all system parameters with their default and altered value. Also if you double-click on a parameter you can get to the full help text for its meaning.
The parameter essentially switches on table change logging for configuration tables (based on the technical settings of the table) and has to be set before the changes are made.

How to check and delete the change logs for DSO

Hello All,
I have build a process chain that will delete the change logs for DSO prior to 7 days but when i executed it, the number of entries are still the same within DSO.
Then i tried deleting directly from "Environment" menu from DSO maintainance but does not work. Can anyone please explain how to resolve this issue or the proper process of deleting the change logs. Appreciated.

What is the impact - Activating Change Logs for Material Classification Dta

To activate Change Logs for Material Classification Data I must first set the flag for "Multiple Objs Allowed" for the Class Type 001 Material Class. I am curious of what the impact of setting this flag will be. Also, is there a way to measure the DASD impact of activating the Change logging for this data.

In addition to the performance impact the process of turning on Change Logs for Classification data will convert the tables KSSK and AUSP to use an internal SAP number as a key instead of the Material number. This will cause problems for any custom programs that access those files directly and expect the material number to be the key. This file conversion occurs during the execution of program RCCLUKA2 which is used to Flag the change logs for existing records. This can be reversed by running report RMCLINOB. Because of the above impact we decided here to NOT implement this change in production.
