Log for rc3 script in Solaris9?
Hi,
I am able to see the log for my rc3.d script in Solaris 10 in /var/svc/log folder. All is cool.
Now I try to look for similar logs for the same script in Solaris 9 and I can't find them anywhere.
Where is the log file for rc3.d scripts in Solaris 9???
Thanks
As far as I know and I guess I am 98% right, there is no such feature in solaris 9.
Cheers,
alexk

How to create .log for sqlplus script
Hi All,
I created a sqlplus script and run it through a window form. My user want to me create a .log file for this script so they can know the job is completed or not. Does any one know how to do it?
Thanks
OFI created a "Login.sql" script that I use for all my sql*plus sessions.
It creates a spool file in my common directory and everything i do is logged unless i set spool off.
Take a look and it gives you an example of using spool files and how to set a directory and unique filename for each spoolfile.
The contents of this file:
-- any uppercase commands are my specific changes.
-- this file must go in the oracle bin path or where sqlplus exe is located

Configure logging for workflow scripts
I know I've done this before, but for the life of me I can't figure it out again. How can I setup my logging configuration to view the output from ecma scripts used as workflow steps?
Thanks,
-SamSo, figured this one out you can log this by setting a logger for.
etc.workflow.scripts to log all logging from all scripts, to log a specfic script use etc.workflow.scripts.<scriptName>$ecma. -

What I really want is I need a log file of the above batch script, how the above scripts are running. I do not care whether they are giving me positive results but I need to know what is happening in logfile. HOw will the log file be generated.

How can I create a log for the dice roll generator on my website?
Here is my website: http://gator789.hostgator.com/~stillman/index.html
I want to create a log for each time the roll button is clicked to generate a random image of a six-sided die on my website. I was thinking maybe a MySQL database with PHP would get me what I want? I have no idea how I would start setting this up though. I don't want to sound to pushy here, but I would also like to have a form setup above the roll button for name details, etc. How would I go about doing this?I don't understand why you need a log to generate a random number. The logic behind a random javascript image generator with a math function is all you need. Put your gif images into an array and let the script do the rest.

Setting timeout settings for Action Scripts
We are using OIM 11gR1 along with the AD and Domino connectors. We are also using Action Scripts to perform some post create actions on the AD and Domino resources that get created by OIM. The action scripts are being invoked with the correct set of parameters and they do their job. However for both connectors, the connector server (Java connector server for Domino, .NET connector server for AD) times out when waiting for the script to complete. Our scripts are expected to take a long time (30+ seconds).
Based on our testing, the AD connector times out in 30 seconds, and the Domino connector times out in 20 seconds. You would get the below exception in your Java Connector Server log file:
Dec 4, 2013 2:36:41 PM org.identityconnectors.framework.api.operations.ScriptOnConnectorApiOp runScriptOnConnector
FINE: Exception:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Timeout waiting for action, process was terminated
at org.identityconnectors.domino.WinJni._executeWinCommand(Native Method)
at org.identityconnectors.domino.WinJni.executeWinCommand(WinJni.java:31)
at org.identityconnectors.domino.ScriptOnConnector.executeCmdScript(ScriptOnConnector.java:143)
at org.identityconnectors.domino.ScriptOnConnector.runScriptOnConnector(ScriptOnConnector.java:88)
at org.identityconnectors.domino.DominoConnector.runScriptOnConnector(DominoConnector.java:316)
Is there any way to configure OIM so that it waits longer for the action script to complete. The real problem over here is that if 2 users are being provisioned to AD and/or Domino simultaneously (we use access policies to trigger provisioning rules), then the connector (Java or .NET) does NOT invoke the action script for the second user if the action script for the first user times out. It does however create AD/Domino resources for all applicable users. This in itself is a defect - but I need a workaround.
Looking at some old Sun Identity Manager documentation (which became Oracle Waveset), it seems that the entire OIM concept of action scripts has its origins in Sun Identity Manager/Oracle Waveset. And these products did support the notion of timeouts. Have a look at :
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19225-01/821-0092/bzbuc/index.html
Does anyone familiar with Oracle OIM code know if custom timeouts are supported by AD and Domino connectors?
Thanks

How to enable logging for mail.app in Mountain Lion
I am at my wits end trying to figure this out....
Does anyone have a clue how to enable the logging for mail.app under Mountain Lion?
In the past, you could open up Console and click on Console.log and see the logging of mail. Under mountain Lion, there is no more console.log. I cannot figure out how to enable it.
I have tried to run the AppleScript of "Turn On Logging" but the script errors out under Mountain Lion.
Does anyone know how to do this or a better way, maybe a tool or something that can help you troubleshoot mail.app issues?
Thanks in advancedHello,
I have a similar problem. The script "Turn on Logging.scpt" runs without error, but I do not see any socket logging. I only get two messages, which I also get when I start mail without the script by just clicking the mail.app icon in the dock. The Messages are:
1/10/13 3:43:32.618 PM Mail[11276]: Using V2 Layout
1/10/13 3:43:36.388 PM Mail[11276]: *** -[IADomainCache init]: IA domains cache is out of date.
Any help would be appreciated -
Configuring syslog and generating logs for a particular period.
Hi...
I have configured syslog server and the loggin enabled on ASA device... I want to generate the complete logs for a particular period of time. How can I generate this report.. Please help meHello,
I have an idea how it might work, but it is not certainly the best solution so if you will not find any other, this might work for you.

event manager applet test
event timer watchdog name test_name time 60 ! in seconds -> every minute

Parse CCM 2012 log for successful TriggerSchedule
Hi All,
I'm looking for a method to parse the CCM 2012 R2's UpdatesDeployment.log for:
The string Message Received
The datestamp of item 1
My powershell script kicks off the TriggerSchedule for the Software Deployment Evaluation scan and I am looking for a method to match conditions 1,2 above to determine the TriggerSchedule was successfully started.
Right now I'm using this code which doesn't seem to accurately capture the successful start or failure to start the TriggerSchedule.
I really appreciate the assistance. I've spent hours looking up Select-String but haven't found the solution.
$trigger = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000114}"
$trigger2 = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000108}"
$scan = Invoke-WmiMethod -ComputerName $server -Namespace root\ccm -Class sms_client -Name TriggerSchedule $trigger | Select-Object ReturnValue
If($scan -ne "0"){
$result.scan = "Scan initiated"
Start-Sleep -s 180}
Else{
$result.scan = "Failed to start SCCM Update Scan"}
#Trigger Schedule 114 might not be needed and is included to increase chances of successful scan.
$scan2 = Invoke-WmiMethod -ComputerName $server -Namespace root\ccm -Class sms_client -Name TriggerSchedule $trigger2 | Select-Object ReturnValue
If($scan2 -ne "0"){
$result.scan2 = "Scan initiated"
Start-Sleep -s 180}
Else{
$result.scan2 = "Failed to start SCCM Update Scan"}#End Configuration Manager Software Deployment Evaluation scan.Ok, can we put on hold the log parsing and revisit the ReturnValue from the Invoke-WMIMethod on TriggerSchedule?
If I do this:
$server = $env:COMPUTERNAME
$trigger = '{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000108}'
$scan = Invoke-WmiMethod -ComputerName $server -Namespace root\ccm -Class sms_client -Name TriggerSchedule $trigger

BW report for interactive scripts in CRM 4.0 webclient
Hi, experts,
good day,
currently we have a requirement to develop interctive scripts in webclient environment , and developing in Interactive scripting editor,
after developing the scripts we attch the profile and when we run it in the webclient , scripts runs automatically, so far all these functionalities working ,
but i want to generate a report for , where i want to see the the number of scripts used perday, most frequently used scripts in the day ,
, where i can do this report,
as i know that , i can generate a report for survey scripts, but these interactive scripts developed in external editor and all we will do in the SPRO is attch the script name in the profile with the valid date , thats all,
i am suspecting about a custome development , if am not wrong ????
urgent help needed ,
full point will be awarded, becuse, this is a limited functionality in SAP , across the projects in the world,
thanks regards
sreeHi, john
thanks for the info,
Yes i know that scripting evolution,
but i dont know where i can see that screen with the statistics.
can you please tell me which TR code i need to use , to run the evolution screen, or which BSP i need to run to see that type of report, i went through the CR410_Col42_ICWEB document
but i didnt find any clue, all i got is only explanation of scripting evolution,
currently scripts are storing at crmc_ic_SCRIPTS table , and it is storing the profile,name script ID, date valid from, date valid to, fields
when i run the above table i got a option on menu bar "" check table"" when i click this system taking me to the below table called CRMD_IC_SCATTR table, this table have fields like objuect type ,object name , catogory,begin date , end date , logged by, fileds,
I am confusing about these 2 tables, 1st table can not serve my need , 2nd table can serve my need a bit ,
but it has another type of transactions like object name , object type....
and in scripting profile , i have a field called ""History "" in this i have 2 options ""record script data in BW"" and ""Do not record"",
can i use this to generate a report ??? as a standard format
so i am planning like, i can go for a custom table, with the required fields like, user , date of run, time of run, department name , average time to run the script, ... etc
this table record the data from actions in the webclient where CRA runs the scripts daily ,
then we can generate a report from the BW or can run in CRM ,
i think if you want i can write a new functionality document for SAP AG , to add this functionality ,
but please guide me in the above issue,

Search event logs for file system access
I'm looking to create a script that will allow me to search Windows 2012 security event logs for access to specific folders. Ideally it would allow the granularity to search for read access events (4663) and specify specific users to view. One
example would be to show events for drive F:\ where the folder name is JSmith (including subfolders) and the username is not JSmith.
I've tried something like this, but can't see how to filter.
Get-EventLog security | ? {$_.Message.contains("F:\JSmith")}Is the match explicit? How can I use wildcard? How can I exclude events?
I recommend asking a search engine and doing some initial research. Here's a starter:

Need help regarding the location of Exchange 2013 Logs for parsing
Hi, I am trying to create reports based on the logs that are created on my exchange server. I am using
exchange 2013. My problem is that I cannot handle every log, and instead want specific types of logs.
I need help finding the specific locations of the following types of logs (If they even exist), so that I can parse them and use them effectively:
Audit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission changes, Mailbox property changes,
Exchange store changes)
Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes)
Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users)
I understand this might sound like a huge undertaking, but any help that can be provided would be appreciated.
Again, I need information on the locations of these types of logs on the exchange server, so that I can parse them. Collecting them all and searching through them is not practical for my available resources.
Thanks,
MattAudit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission
changes, Mailbox property changes, Exchange
store changes) ---- these are two type of logs, 1. mailbox audit logs and that is stored in each mailbox under dumpster
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff461930(v=exchg.150).aspx however you need to
enable
it for individual mailboxes... 2. admin audit log, this is stored into a system mailbox dumpster.... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335052(v=exchg.141).aspx
Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox
storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes) ---- there isn't any specific log for this, you would need to create some time of script to collect this every day for you and store it somewhere... This is a good start... http://www.stevieg.org/2011/06/exchange-environment-report/
Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and
amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users) ----- This you can get from message tracking log... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375(v=exchg.150).aspx -
Hi Guys
I need to know where Oracle writes logs for Fail Safe components, Fail Safe Manager and Fail Safe server?
Any idea?
Regards
PGuser10676961 wrote:
First of all, I'm not a native English speaker, so excuse for my msitakes :8}
I have a basic knowlede of Oracle, but this is something I need help with:
I have a Windows cluster with Oracle Fail Safe. There will be multiple databases on this cluster. Oracle and Oracle Fail Safe are installed on disk D: on both nodes (local disk).
When Fail Safe creates a sample database it creates this directory structure on cluster disk O:
OFSDB
OFS1
admin
OFS1
adump
bdump
cdump
pfile
udump
flash_recovery_area
OFS1
ONLINELOG
oradata
OFS1
{code}
All database related files like parameter files are created on the cluster disk, not in Oracle Home, where they are by default.Hi
most of the directories that you refer to are controlled by initialisation parameters in the parameter file for the database. What would probably be sensible for you to do is to use DBCA not to create the database, but to create the scripts to create the database. You can then edit those scripts appropriately.
In particular the directories used in your example are controlled by these parameters
adump audit_file_dest
bdump background_dump_dest
