Log the SQL parameters used by ORM

Hi Everyone,
I have read Rupesh's blog post;
http://www.rupeshk.org/blog/index.php/2009/07/coldfusion-orm-how-to-log-sql/
and have appropriately changed the log4j setting
### Also log the parameter binding to the prepared statements.
log4j.logger.org.hibernate.type=DEBUG
But I still do not see the values of query parameters in my log files.
All I get is the auestion marks;
09/15 12:35:57 [ajp-bio-8014-exec-3] HIBERNATE DEBUG -
    insert
    into
        audit_log
        (description, created, userID)
    values
Does anyone have any ideas? And as always - thanks in advance!
Gavin.

Easy but you need to extract it from Microsoft Generic Report Pack.
So.. the procedure is as follows:
1) You export and unseal Management Pack from your SCOM using
Boris's OpsgMgr tools (MPViewer
2.3.3)
2) Ok you've got unsealed xml, now the tricky part, use
MpElementsExtract tool, example of usage:
MPElementsExtract.exe <MP.xml> /ex /destination:<destination>
That you way you get several folders out of mp:
DWScripts, DWSubScripts, LinkedReports, ReportResources, Reports
Take a look into content of first 2, there will be pure sql scripts, and rdl's are in Reports folder :)
Other way is to just use SQL profiler and catch SQL query while generating report.

    Hi Harsha,
    If you are using WebLogic provided JDBC Drivers to create your DataSources then you can use the Advantage of SYP Logging.

  • To automate the SQL scripts using PLSQL Code

    Hi All,
    I have 20 database server (11.2.0.3) hosted on  unix and Windows platforms.
    Every day I have to kill inactive sessions from all the these 20 database servers. So I have made a below script::
    connect sys/&&sys_password@&&tns_database_name as sysdba
    SPOOL E:\DELETE_INACTIVE_SESSIONS.SQL
    set PAGESIZE 1000
    set LIN 5000
    SET ECHO OFF;
    SET FEEDBACK OFF;
    SET HEADING OFF;
    select 'alter system kill session '||'`'||SID||','||SERIAL#||'`'||' immediate;'  from v$session where status='INACTIVE' and username in ('OSS_DICTIONARY','ADMINISTRATOR');
    SPOOL OFF;
    @@E:\DELETE_INACTIVE_SESSIONS.SQL
    Is there any way so that this execution of script can be automated in PLSQL code for 20 servers so and that code could be put in batch file for execution(i.e. can be execute through batch file from my windows laptop).
    Thanks

    Is there no way to handle the sql scripts in PLSQL code?
    Well, remember that PL/SQL is executed on a specific server by a certain user so you are already connected when executing a PL/SQL code.
    You could actually use a SQL Plus script to connect to different servers using connect and run your script.
    i.e.:
    SQL> connect sys/pwd_server1@db_server1
    SQL> @killinactive.sql
    SQL> connect sys/pwd_server2@db_server2
    SQL> @killinactive.sql
    But it does not make so much difference with my previous solution.
    Please explain exactly what you would like to do.
    Regards.

    string sqlstmt=''BEGIN ss.sql;END";
    stmt=conn->createStatement(sqlstmt);
    it is wrong
    how do i change the sql statement???

    Hi,
    Instead of having the PL/SQL code as an anonymous block, you can create
    a procedure and then execute it through OCCI.
    For example:
    create or replace procedure my_proc
    is
    row integer := 0;
    user varchar2(256);
    begin
    --code here...
    end;
    I assume this code will be in ss.sql. Compile this procedure in
    your schema and then form the sqlstmt in OCCI this way:
    Statement *stmt = con->createStatement("BEGIN my_proc; END;") ;
    Rgds.

  • Generating next number from the SQL database using java

    Hi friends, I have a problem and need your help. I am working on a project about submitting claims form through the adobe PDF file and SQL database. I have problem working on a web service (written in java) that will generate the next Invoice Number from the SQL Database table. The field type for the column is text(var char). *Example: I first need to get into the table and search for the last Invoice number in the table and if the last invoice number in the table from the database is 3, i would want to generate the next number which is 4 and filled it up in the PDF file through web service that i am implementing. Can you all provide me some guidelines on how to implement this method in my web service?
    Thanks a lot. I need it by today. Hope someone can reply this as soon as possible.

    far simpler to use a sequence generator, which most databases support.
    Suggested method to get the max value in the column is NOT secure, unless you lock the entire table for update before you do so, which is a severe performance penalty.

  • Any way to see the sql code used to update DataTableModel?

    Hi,
    I'm getting an sql syntax error when I do an update on a table model.
    Is there a way to see the SQL command that Creator is using to update the database?
    Thanks!
    Rick

    This is an easy one. In your code before you do the .execute put in the following line: String tempString = tableRowSet.getCommand(). Set a break point on the line after. Start the program in debug mode. When the program hits the break point look at the value of tempString. check your sql statment.

  • Where and how do I get the SQL Query used by the Microsoft Generic Report Library - Alerts?

    Background:
    I'm tasked with the following: I need to create a new Report and the SQL
    The two canned reports that I can pattern after are: Microsoft Generic Report Library
    - Alerts (there is also an alert detail report that can be chosen within the alert report that we may want to use instead)
    - Most Common Alerts
    I'm trying to do this:
    Add another parameter to search on customfield3.
    It should be able to report on all alerts that were assigned to the specific team for the time period along with the top 10 (most common alerts) assigned to the team for the time period.
    Choose as the objects (group) all servers, but Imay need to adjust the report to just look at all alerts without having to provide objects or a group
    The struggle I'm having is: I know SQL. I know how to create an RDL file.
    But Where are the RDL files for the canned reports so I can modify the canned RDL and modify its SQL and forms?
    What is the SQL/ where can I find the SQL used for the Generic Report Library -> Alerts

  • 11g - how to enable the sql logging

    hi, experts,
    I cannot find the way to enable the sql logging (into nqquery.log)
    how to set it?

    I cannot find the way to enable the sql logging (into nqquery.log)The SQL logging can be set in the Administration tool >>Manage>>Security >>users and double click on the user and set the logging level . Best option is to use logging level=2
    http://www.artofbi.com/index.php/2009/07/obiee-logging-security-restrictions-and-levels/
    (OR) if you want to specify only for a single report and if you have the privileages as the Administrator then you can do at report level by going to
    Advance tab>> prefix section >> Set Variable LOGLEVEL=2;
    write it the same way because it sometimes acts case sensitive.Then save it.
    hope answered.
    Cheers,

  • When Deploying SSIS Packages to SQL Server using SSMS Import feature, is the package configuration file deployed at the same time?

    Hello, everyone,
    I have an SSIS package with a XML package configuration file. I deployed it to the sql server using the import feature in SSMS (in Stored Packages, right click MSDB, select Import, select the package to deploy in file system). My question is
    Is the XML package configuration file also deployed? If so, which folder is it stored so that I can change the values in it? If not, is setting up the Configuration tab when scheduling a agent job the way to go manually bring the configuration file in?
    Your help and information is much appreciated.
    Regards

    Thank you Arthur for your reply. I appreciate it.
    A followup questions:
    I used direct setting for the configuration file path on C:\. But it needs to be on D:\ on the remote server. I can't create the D:\ path because I don't have D:\ drive on my computer (I understand I could use indirect setting to change the path in the remote
    server. But that's not the concern here).
    My question is:  since the configuration is not deployed, can I make it up by setting up the Configurations in creating the agent job step? That is, copy the configuration file to the D:\ drive on the remote server, in Configurations tab, add the configuration
    file on D:\ to the configuration. Will it work? Will the package still look for the original config file on C:\?  and if it doesn't find it there, will it cause any error?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

  • About the MDF and log_LDF file in the SQL server

    Hai Experts ,
    I need known the , What is MDF and log_ldf file .
    In our BPC server there are MDF and Log_LDF file in the MSSQLSERVER folder under the E drive.
    The both file have huge database size .
    Can u explain what is MDF and Log_LDF file , why its created ....
    Regards
    Daya......................

    Hi Daya
    Those files are the actual SQL database files, in SQL Server management console, you have a logical view of the database with all of the objects within the database. The *.MDF and *.LDF files are the actual physical files which makes up the database in SQL Server. (Where the actual data is stored...)
    The MDF file is the actual data file
    The LDF file is the transaction log file, SQL Server uses this file in order maintain ACID compliance. It uses transactions to ensure that the database will always revert to a known consistent state on failure.
    More Info:
    [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_SQL_Server]
    You don't provide much information regarding the environment, i.e (DEV, QA, PROD, etc), but your *.LDF file should not be bigger that your *.MDF file, and if it is quite large, then you will need your DBA to shrink your Transaction Log file.
    [http://databases.about.com/od/sqlserver/a/truncate_shrink.htm]
    [http://www.sql-server-performance.com/forum/threads/transaction-log-file-will-not-shrink.15877/]
    [http://4rapiddev.com/sql-server/delete-shrink-eliminate-transaction-log-ldf-file/]
    Hope this helps
    Kind Regards

    Is it required to add  ECC certificate to Portal sytem?
    we have created the same user id in both the sytems.
    Please let me know what could be the error.
    Regards

    Vijay,
    Please follow these steps and lemme know what you observe.
    Go to system administration->support->sap application-> under test and configuration tools choose sap transaction
    under the mandatory fields choose the system that you have created, choose a tcode (se16) and choose sap gui for windows and click go.
    If you are able to logon to your ecc system, your sso works!
    P.S Make sure the user name with which you are testing this, exists in the backend as well.
    Good luck

  • Help needed in SQL performance - Using CASE in SQL statement versus 2 query

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to find count from a bunch of tables.
    The SQL I have gives the count of all members.
    I have created 2 queries to find count of active and inactive members.
    The key difference is only the active dates.
    Each query takes 20 seconds to execute.
    I modified the SQL to use CASE statement in the SELECT.
    So after the data is fetched the CASE statement will evaluate the active date and gives 2 counts (active and inactive)
    Is it advisable to use this approach. Will CASE improve SQL performance ? I have to justify this.
    Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    J

    Hi,
    If it can be done in single SQL do it in single SQL.
    You said:
    Will CASE improve SQL performance There can be both cases to prove if the performance is better or worse.
    In your case you should tell us how it is.

    Bhushan
