Log4J setting max rows

Can Log4J be configured to start a new log file automatically when number of rows exceed, let's say 10000?

Hi,
Millions? I think the maximum I have ever exported is about 10million rows. If you are exporting into Excel then Discoverer should create additional sheets if the export is over 65K. But why export to excel? it is often easier in another format (e.g. csv or html) and then use this as input to Excel.
When exporting only the current page item is exported, so I tend to avoid page items when exporting workbooks.

  • How to set Max Rows Retrieved by user security profile in CMC?

    Hi
As we know, it is possible to set Max Rows Retrieved with query property (in the area 'Limits').
However, it is mentioned in official documents that this setting can be overwritten by the BOE administrator in user security profile. Could any one tell me how this is done in CMC?
    Thanks in advance!
    Qing

    Hi Rishit,
    Thanks for your answer!
Had a long holiday, so didn't give a feedback in time. Sorry for that!
There is a tab 'Controls' in Universe Parameter, where there is a setting used to limit the size of result set.
Then what's the priority between this setting and the similar setting in WebI query properties?
However, acutally my question is how to set the limitation by user security profile in CMC.
Do you have any idea about it?

  • Writing large xmltype data to UTL_FILE and setting max row per file

    Hey Gurus,
I am trying to create a procedure (in Oracle 9i) that writes out xml data I have created into several xml files (file would probably be to large for one xml file output...I am doing this for 270,000 rows of data), setting the max rows to 1000 rows per file. I know one would have to create a looping contsruct to do this but I am just not adept enough in PL/SQL to figure it out at the moment.
So essentially their would be some sort of loop construct and substr process that creates a file after looping through 1000 rows and then continues the count and creates a another file until all 270 xml files are created. Simple enough right...lol? Well I've tried doing this and haven't gotten anywhere. My pl/sql coding skills are too elementary I am guessing. I've only been doing this for about three months and could use the assistance of a more experienced person here.
    Here are the particulars...
This is the xmltype view code that I used to create the xml data.
    select XMLELEMENT("macess_exp_import_export_file",

  • How to set Max Rows when I search extended attribute in Admin Setting?

When I search extended attributes in Admin Setting, the default max row is 500.
Can I change the Max rows' Setting?
    Thanks

We don't have a feature config for this in the core application, however you can adjust the 500 limit using a ready report.  Ready Reports is a solution pack that allows you to create saved searches in the form of reports.  You can get the ready reports solution pack in the latest extensibility pack.

  • Pagination disappears after setting 'max row count'

I have a report with app. 4500 records (with the default of 15 lines per page) and a pagination scheme of 'Row Ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)'.
When running the report, all is working fine and i get the information in the select list '.. of more than 500'.
Then i inserted some values in the 'max row count'-field:
a value of 2000: it's working as expected
a value of 4000 (or more): the pagination disappears and won't be desplayed :-(
Any ideas, what i have done wrong?
    Thanks
    Rainer

    Hi
This problem - select list dissapearing when > 32k still persists in Version 3.
A neat workaround is to use a page item to set the number of rows disaplyed.
Where there is a large number of rows in the table and the max rows is also large, simply set the page item value for the number of rows to a larger value say 200 - then - if the select list now becomes less than 32K the select list will be shown.
It's a matter of balancing the number of rows shown on the page with the total number of rows in the table / max rows combination.
It's not perfect but it works.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to set max. number of rows in a table?

    Hi,
I'm working on a SCADA interface. In this application there are different tables with vertical scroll bar.
I prefer to make visible only the initialized rows (I've initialized 40 blank rows of a table with a string array). Since the window not contain all 40 rows but only 20 rows, I set the rows number of "table properties window" to 20; so I added a vertical scroll bar.
Now, when a user scroll the scroll-bar, he can view not only the 40 rows initializated, but an undefined number of rows.
There's a way to visualize only a limited number of rows?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Set max fetch size on application module

Is there a way to set max fetch size on application module level, rather then setting it for every view object separately? I don't want to allow any of my view objects in application module to fetch more then 1000 rows.

    Hi,
Tools-->... contains option for setting rows in batches of... , but doesn't contain option for setting max fetch size. I guess I'll have to do it in implementation class for view objects... Thanks anyway

  • HTML DB SQL Workshop Output to csv Max Row Count

I am using HTML DB 1.6 with Oracle 10g 10.1.0.3.0 On SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.
When I execute a query in SQL Workshop SQL Command Processor that returns a result set of greater than 5,000 rows and click the Output to Excel link, it exports NO MORE than 5,000 records.
In working through Metalink with Oracle Tech Support, apparently for Reports in HTML DB there is a way to change the Max Row Count default limitation of 5,0000. However, this isn't in a report. It is simply from the query results page in SQL Workshop. Tech Support has been unable to idnetify ANYWHERE where I can change the default Max Row Count for simply outputting the results to csv format through the Output to Excel link.
I am desperately looking for where I can globally change this default that will allow me to use SQL Worskshop to output greater than 5,000 records from within SQL Workshop.
    Thanks for you help!
    Mike

    hi mikes--
that sqlworkshop 5k row limit issue was corrected in htmldb 2.0. in 1.6.x, i'm pretty sure you're always limited to 5k no matter what you select for that Max Rows attribute.

  • Deski "max # rows" defaulting to 65K when document is refreshed

    Product:   Desktop Intelligence
    Version:  11.5.0.0
    Patches:  SP2
Operating System:  Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2
I am creating a simple report in Deski which contains approx 100K rows of data.  My "max # rows" is set to 1M.  The report returns the data correctly.  When I hit the refresh button to re-run the report, my "max # rows" changes to 65K and the report returns "partial data".  Is there a way to set my "max # of rows" to stay at 1M?  I can run the same report in Webi and it runs correctly giving the correct number of rows upon first run and subsequent refreshes.

I think that whoever your administrator is has to increase the max for you, this is I believe done on a universe level (i.e., he can't just increase the max rows for a single user like yourself, the increase will be made for all users of the universe your using).

  • Interactive report max row count

Is there a way to set IR max row count dynamically?
To improve performance, I would like to set this value to 200 when users run the report and set this value to 50000 when users download the report.

A dirty solution to this could be , create IR report with rowum < 201 and then add a link to the region header for downloading report. Point this link to another page with the same sql query (classic report) and select the template as CSV.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't View All Records if Max Row Count is null

    Hi,
There are over 2500 records in a table and if Max Row Count is set to nothing in report attributes, the user is restricted to view only 500 records. And If Max Row Count is set more than 2500 then user is able to view all records but taking more time to display report.
What to do to minimise process time and allow user to view all the records. ?
Pagination Scheme : Row Ranges X to Y of Z (with pagination)
    Number of Rows : 100
Number of Rows (Item) :     <empty>
    Max Row Count :           <empty>
    Thanks,
    Ven.

    Hi Ven,
Apex restricts the number of rows returned by a report to 500 by default. You can change this by setting the Max Row Count. Apex does this so that the amount of data returned over the network to the browser is kept to a reasonable amount. The reason it is done this way is because a user in apex does not maintain a stateful connection to the database and as a result, rows returned from a query can not be cached in the database and fetched as required.
From a usability point of view, I'm not sure why a user would want 2500+ rows returned to a screen. They would have to scroll and paginate to find anything of use and network bandwidth would get chewed up in the process. Why not provide the users with query options so that the number rows returned to the browser is restricted to a more manageable amount? If the users require a full hardcopy of the data then you can handle this with csv and pdf options.

    Andre

  • Max Rows and Grand Totals Please

    hi,
My report level grand totals only seem to add up correctly when I Set Maximum rows on the Query. Lets say 6 rows for example.
If I DO NOT specify a Max Row value on the query. My totals are way out.
Im missing something here guys,, does anyone know what is causing this ?
    Thanks
    n.

    Hi Nicholas,
Could you re-check that your summary column (which calculates the sum of your field) - in its Property Inspector - it should say Reset At "Report". This field should be defined outside of any group since it is report level summary. You could also try to design a simple report using the Report Wizard where you choose to display the sum of SALARY column at the report level, and compare the results.
    Navneet.
