Logging into multiple instance using single ID
We have multiple instances of CRM ONDemand and have login ID for each instance. I have a group of users who are users across multiple instances, the problem is they have to login using ID and Password every time they navigate across instances. Is there a way in which this can be simplified.
Eg:
I have 2 countries with different data set and due to nature of business I have to keep the data separate. But I have operational resources who have to access both instances, is there a way in which they can access both instances from single screen.
Hi, For seemless navigation of users across instances you can thing about implementing SSO. But if you like to see data across instances in one single instance, it may not be possible without using webservices

Sending EDI To Multiple Partners Using Single Send Port in Orchestration
Hi Guys,
I am having a scenario where i am receiving a Xml(which can be in between 11-15). I am having 150 Trading Partners with whom these datsets have to be shared. Now every Trading partner is having there own character Sets and unique numbers so i have created 150
party agreements for all the Trading partners. I am interested to use a single port. I have created an orchestration to achieve this. Below are the steps i used to create orchestration :-
1) Receiving 11 XML from receive shape.
2) Extracting the value of Node TSP(this value is used to know the trading partners unique number on which i am deciding to which party agreement this Xml needs to go) using xpath.
3) I am constructing the message in construct.
3.1) Mapping from XML To EDI.
3.2) As all 11 datasets are having different version. So i am overidding the value ISA and GS in Message Assignment(SourceName).
4) Decide shape to decide on the value of TSP to which port it has to be send.
But according to me this is not an optimized solution. Below are reasons:-
1) I have to create 150 branch into decide shape. As i am receiving 11 different Xml messages i need to create decide shape for all the different Xml messages.
2) I have to create 150 different ports which are having 15 operation(depanding upon Xml we received).
Note:- I have to create 150 different Send Ports only because of Party Agreement. So is there any solution? i only want Single Send port and i can select the party Agreement in the orchestrations.Duplicate thread. See:

How do I prevent users from logging into my machine in single user mode?
I established an standard accounts for my family. My son figured out that if he logs into the machine in Single User mode that he logs in as the root user. He then proceeded to create another user with administrative privileges and change his account to administrator then delete the other account. Funny thing about this is that as much as OS X is secure from outside threats a simple command-s gets you right into the very heart of the machine......
You can set a firmware password. The firmware password only allows you to start up in normal mode, so if you try to start in single-mode user or safe mode, your Mac will ask you for a password.
The process to turn it on depends on the OS X version you have. Open > About this Mac, check the Mac OS X version and follow the steps depending on your OS X version.
If you have 10.7 or 10.8:
1. Hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting up.
2. After starting up into OS X Utilities, go to Utilities menu (on the menu bar) > Firmware Password Utility, and enable the firmware password.
3. Restart the Mac.
If you have 10.6 or older:
1. Insert the Mac OS X disc and hold the C key while your Mac is starting up.
2. Choose your language, go to Utilities menu (on the menu bar) > Firmware Password Utility, and enable the firmware password.
3. Restart the Mac.
Also, this will protect your Mac against thieves because they won't be able to erase the hard drive without knowing the firmware password. Don't forget the password, because only Apple can reset it if you don't know this password -
I am trying to log into my IPad using my apple ID and password to download updates, which I have done before, but it brings up my daughters ID instead of mine? What do I do to get it to bring up my apple ID.
Could it be that you or your daughter used your daughters Apple ID to install these apps? Make sure that your Apple ID is set up in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores" then delete the Apps when your daughters ID appears and then re-download them again by using your own Apple ID. This should fix the problem.

If u could help me out that would be great.As long as they are all from the same OS program (a single Java VM), that's OK - you can use Log4j, and use a rotating file logger.
If you point two different virtual machine processes at the same file, one may have it open when the other is trying to rotate it, and your rotation may fail (at best) and/or you may lose the old log (the worst case).
If you need to collect log messages from multiple processes (or even multiple machines), use a syslog-based logger (Log4j has a SyslogAppender) or use Log4j's SocketAppender to write to a log4j-builtin log listener (SocketNode). -
Multiple ASM instances using single cluster install - Is it possible??

I have 2 node RAC cluster installed on Linux. All the storage is on EMC. I need to setup another environment using HP storage on the same hosts. Is it possible to created second ASM instance using the same cluster install?? I wanted to have clear separation b/w EMC and HP environments and that's wondering if it's feasible to do that.
Haven't tried it yet to see if it complains.

The data migration won't happen (at least not aggressively) until you do step 2 in your list where you remove the EMC disks. That removal operation will take a long time as Oracle will have to move the data before it can complete the operation. If you want to be sure, I'd recommend creating a new disk group with one of your new disks, put a small tablespace in it, create some data in it, then add a disk to that new group and remove the original disk. Then you'll have some confidence in the procedure and verify that it works without risking your production data. After you test, you can drop the disk group and use the disks for their intended purposes.
To answer your question, yes, that's the process exactly as I suggested it above. Should work fine--but will probably take a while to do the remove, so be prepared to leave that running for quite a while (i.e. don't expect to close the terminal and go home right after running the remove).

Multiple instances on single server
Hi all,
I have a Solaris 10 server with 2x dual core CPU's.
I am wondering if it was at all possible to install Business Intelligence Server on this single OS twice? And if it is, can I split the CPU between the different instances?
The reason for this is that I would like both production and test/development installed onto the same OS to cut costs. But I don't want the test/development instance to use resources that would affect the performance of the production environment.
Ideally I'd like the 2 instances, with the production instance using 3 cores, and the test/development instance using 1 core. If the RAM could also be split that'd be great.

CheersYes, you can have multiple instances of Presentation Services (PS) ([see my blog posting for details|http://rnm1978.wordpress.com/2009/08/25/multiple-rpds-on-one-server-part-1-the-bi-server/]) which would let you split envs, but you'd do that with a single instance of BI server. I don't know if it's possible to run multiple BI servers
I don't think you should be trying to do this anyway, several reasons why not:
1) It's not supported to run multiple PS on one server. That should be reason enough not to do this on prod.
2) If it's not possible to run multiple BI Servers on one server then you'd end up running one BI Server with dev/test/prod RPDs - you'd never be able to bounce your BI Server for dev work without taking down prod
3) Any time you needed downtime for dev, you'd affect prod
4) Any patching you wanted to do on dev might affect prod
5) Any experimental work you do that crashes dev would affect prod.
If you only have the one box available to you for costs reasons then you should be looking into virtualisation of some kind, eg http://www.virtualbox.org -
Multiple DataSource using single Connection Pool
Previously using Weblogic 6.1 we had a configuration where multiple Datasources used a single connection pool. Now that we are in the process of upgrading to Weblogic 9.1, we are attempting to recreate the same configuration.
The Weblogic 9.1 upgrade wizard appears to have created the relevent datasource & connection pool configuration files but when attempting to use these I am receiving the following errors:

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction with this? Configuring the Datasources through the Admin Console creates a single Datasource configuration file that contains its relevent connection pool configuration, but the Weblogic Upgrade wizard creates a Datasource config file and a separate connection pool config file. What would I need to do to use the config files generated by the Weblogic Upgrade wizard?

Simplified JDBC Resource Configuration
In WebLogic Server 9.0, the number of JDBC resource types was reduced to simplify JDBC configuration and to reduce the likelihood
of configuration errors. Instead of configuring a JDBC connection pool and then configuring a data source or tx data source to
point to the connection pool and bind to the JNDI tree, you configure a data source that encompasses a connection pool.
Note: Because of the new configuration design, you can no longer have multiple data sources that point to a single connection
pool. Instead, you can create additional data sources, each with its own pool of connections, or you can bind a single data source
to the JNDI tree with multiple names. See Binding a Data Source to the JNDI Tree with Multiple Names for more information.

Split file into multiple Instance of an IDoc .
My file (only one file) in the file system contains multiple entities(lets say sales order).Now using File adapter I want to transfer this file into XI and want XI to create multiple instance of an IDoc(for each sales order) and send them to the target system one by one.
Alternatively can I split the file into multiple entities(sales order) in the file adapter (using dispatcher for e.g) and send multiple message to the configured XI automatically.
Is any of the alternative possible in XI20.
Any responce would be highly appreciated.

You can get the file adapter to split the file without the need for a dispatcher user exit. The config goes a little like this:
mode=FILE2XMBWITHSTRUCTURECONVERSION
xml.recordsetStructure=SALES_ORDER,1
xml.recordsetsPerMessage=1
This last parameter ensures each sales order is posted to the integration engine as a separate message. Therefore a separate Idoc is created for each.

I want to separate Flash players into multiple instances of plugin-container.exe
Let's say I'm watching a video online and I feel like playing a Flash game while watching it. Let's also assume that this Flash game, like many others, has no volume options and is obnoxiously loud, drowning out the video.
All running Flash players (even between separate windows of Firefox) share the same process, so if I try to drop the volume of the game in Windows 7, it drops the volume of the video as well.
Is there some way to get firefox to load Flash players into separate process so that Windows can give me volume control over each? Perhaps there is an addon that does this?
P.S. I tried the -no-remote command line option on Firefox, but it turns out that each instance of firefox.exe requires a separate profile (which is an issue if the game uses cookies).
