Login As Functionality in HTMLDB

Hi ,
In our application we need to use 'Login As' sort of functionality. If any person with particular role logs in then the user gets the option to login as his subordinate user. If the user selects then the application flow will be defined according to the selected subordinate user.
Anyone has idea on how to implement this functionality. Are there any APIs which we can use to login by providing the user name?

Shailesh,
There is no way to log in as another user without specifying required credentials and creating a new session. You might consider creating an application item named EFFECTIVE_USER. When a user wants to assume the identity of another user you could set this item to the name of that user. Base all authorization logic and application flow logic on the value of EFFECTIVE_USER instead of the value of APP_USER.

I created this object and table function in database.

SmartCard Login not function Server 2012

I try to login with the SmartCard on a server 2012 rdp-session. It looks like all function, i can select the SmartCard at the login and enter my pin. But after the rdp-window open and i see the login with user and password.
For a test i setup a new terminal-server 2012 with the same config in the same ad. On this server the login with the SmartCard function without any problems.
SmartCard driver is installed on both server.
What can be the problem that the first server not accept the SmartCard?

Which version of RDP client you are using for RDP connection?
I suggest you to try latest version RDP client 8.0 or 8.1, and check whether the same issue persist. Kindly double check the .RDP file & the configuration for RDP client for checking “Local Resources” which will show checkboxes for enabling redirection.
Also try to check the issue with different client on the effected server.
Smart Card redirection is dependent on the installation of required software support. Certain infrastructures require Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP). In order for Smart Cards in the environment to work via RDP Smart Card redirection, CSP must be installed
on the server.
The smart card modules for the cryptographic service provider (CSP) maintain a smart card handle cache. When a terminal session is created by using a smart card, the server queries the cache to validate the smart card handle. However, the cache does not support
multiuser session environments very well. Therefore, if a user runs a smart card transaction, all other users who use a smart card in the logon process are blocked. (Quoted form below KB article). If you have not specify CSP then please try to specify CSP

Apart from this, there is Hotfix available (KB 2521923 \
KB 949538) for
server 2008 R2 which may be the issue might causing to stop responding the smart card for RDP connection. (Here providing you only for reference.)

LDAP call using a stored function

I am trying to use one of our stored function with the HMTLDB database (like LDAP_GET_FIRST_NAME) within an HTMLDB application. When I issue the following command within SQLPLUS
select cw_ldap_get_first_name('<my_ldap_name>', '<my_password>') from dual;
my first name is displayed by SQLPLUS.
My question is how do I get the my password with HTMLDB?
Do I need to capture it as login time?
Is there a global variable?
Does anyone have any sample code that I can use that will help me run a stored function with HTMLDB and return it into an page ITEM or global ITEM?

Thank you both. You both help out. It works and I am very greatful, I can not move forward.
Scott you comments reminded me that I was want authenticating using LDAP. My HTMLDB account is the same as my LDAP but with a different password to login as a developer.
Chet you comments helped with things that I was not aware of (like the clearing of the cache after login). So what I did was create an Afte Submit PL/SQL anonymous block in Page Processing Process section after the Get Username Cookie and before the Login. This way I was able to populate the Page 2 page ITEMS.
The After Submit processes were section looks like this:
10 Set Username Cookie
15 Ldap Info
20 Login
30 Clear

If you are using the default login page, which it looks like you are, you won't have access to those page items on page 2. There is a clear cache process that runs after login which...clears the cache on page 101. If you remove it, you should have access to those items on page 2. I would only use this for testing purposes because :P101_PASSWORD is still hanging around.
That looks right to me. I am sure you know this, but you don't have to explicitly declare the variables (I am guessing you are at your wit's end trying to figure it out).
Could you try a SELECT INTO from the table you are trying to get the first name from (as opposed to the function call)? That might help to narrow down the problem...

Alan - You must be using LDAP authentication in the application...
You might look into using an LDAP utility that does an anonymous bind so that no password is required for simple lookups.

A useful functionality from HTMLDB is to generate Triggers to create Sequences. But if you wont to reload data in your tables and don't wont to create new ID-Numbers you must change your trigger to:

Usually we can install Local Library about SQL Server books in SQL Server 2008R2 or search from SQL Server Combined help Collection in SQL Server 2012 , then look for the related detail via some technology and content type in SQL Server Books Online.

How to call a function from Java to JSP

Hello,
I have a question about using tags.
I have a java file,which has a function. Now I want to call this function into my JSP page.
I'm using JSP 1.2 and TOMCAT 4.1 with Java2 SDK.
I search through the web and find a method to do this.Bu it requires JSP 2.0
But I try that in my machine(using JSP 1.2).It gives an error:
Did you know what is the error? Or is there any method to call a function into my JSP page?

Yes. As serlank showed, you can just call the function easily in scriptlet tags
However the whole point of a tag library is to avoid the use of scriptlets.
Seeing as you can't use functions, is just to do it as a standard tag.
ie in your jsp

Basic Questions about JSF, Login and Session

Hi,
I try to implement a login/logout function on my jsf-website. I create one <form> with Login and Pass to enter. My AuthenticBean(sessionbean) checks login and pass. If Login is "ok" the login and pass will set in the authenticBean (min. value of login and pass = 2).
Now I check protected .jsf files (files who need a login) if in the AuthenticBean the login.equals("") or pass.equals(""). If so, the user is not logged in.
Is this a safe method or should I choose a better way to have secure login/logout functions. Perhaps its better to create a userSessionBean after a succeful login and check it with HttpServletRequest rq.getSession().getAttribute(userSessionBean)?
I am confused a little bit and I hope you'll help me:)

What is wrong? The function ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT needs one input parameter called "DOCUMENT_ENTRY" which is of type OARFCIN ...
ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, which has only Strings as input parameters (no structures), works fine ...
I tried all variations I could think of:

instead of myStructure("ARCHIV_ID") = G_csDefaultRepository
declaring bapiControl, logonControl and functions as Object, and instanciating them with CreateObject(...)

(which gave me a "Collection member not found" error) ...
Nothing worked ...

Facebook API Login with the login window loaded in html component

I am making an air app which utilises net based content such as bringing viewing their facebook photos within the app itself but I DON'T want my users to be able to browse to the internet or more specifically open up internet explorer. Problem is the facebook api requires the user to go to a facebook login page when the login for the facebook session is fired. Is there any way I can ghet this to open up in a html component rather than internet explorer? The facebooksession.login() seems to open up this window by default and doing the validatelogin without this seems to throw a null object reference error.
Can anybody help please? Here's my code:-

You'll still get the pop up when you load the program in the debugger, but when loading from Facebook it should be seamless. I hope that helps.

Yosemite won't boot past login.

I installed Yosemite a few days ago. The first day it ran fine, but the second day my computer started running extremely slowly, freezing up completely after shorter and shorter timeframes, and shutting down randomly without warning. As of last night, I haven't been able to login at all; the computer will turn on and the login screen functions but, once I put in my password, the progress bar fills up about halfway then it shuts off. Strangely, I can login to the Guest account, but even then it repeatedly reloads the majority of websites because 'a problem occured,' so it's not exactly functional. Considering I can't login to the account with administrative privileges, is there anything I can do/try short of going to the Genius Bar? I made an appointment, but it's not until Monday.

Only if you have another Mac to which you can connect in some way to transfer your Home folder. Or if you don't mind that you could so almost the same thing twice, you can try reinstalling Yosemite over the existing system. This may take upwards of an hour, but will leave everything except OS files intact. You must also have a functioning Recovery HD.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
