Login btn problems

question i tried this code in my flash site that i got from
another old post and changed a few things to use it.

while it does bring me to the next frame in the movie just
fine, it also will take me there regardless of what i put, or even
if i put nothing at all. So am i miss understanding something,
doing something wrong, or what. How do i fix this so that it won't
send me to the next frame unless the correct username and password
are inputted?

If your "AIM" login is an Apple ID the password has to be 16 characters or less.
This is an AIM Server Limit and it cannot read longer Apple ones.
Another possible is that you are trying to use an iCloud ID (@Me.com) in iChat 5 or earlier.
This will not work.
In iChat 6 and Messages the app also log in to me.com which then allows the AIM servers to "See" the password and iChat 5 and earlier cannot do this.

Not the usual 'login loop' problem, help.

The login loop problem I'm facing is not the usual login loop problem when starting up mac; it's when I'm trying to log into websites or applications (most of them, eg. facebook, instagram).
I have tried:
using other browsers: Safari, Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome
clearing all cookies / caches / keychains / passwords
repairing disk
deleting launchservices cache
using other userid to login
All to no avail.
How do I solve this without having to reformat/install mac?

Lion login screen problems on Mid 2009 MacBook Pro

After upgrading my wife's Mid 2009 MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Lion we are seeing weird behavior on the login screen after the computer wakes from sleep mode.
The screen is only partially drawn (usually the top left 1/4 of the screen), and the grey background is shown instead of her desktop background picture. When you move the mouse around on the screen, it repaints blocks on the screen where the pointer has been.
This only seems to happen when the machine sleeps for a long period of time, e.g., overnight. When it just sleeps for a little while we don't see the issue.
When searching the forums for anyone else with the problem, several folks said that there was an issue with the video drivers for the 9400M card and recommended switching to the 9600M GT, but her machine only has the 9400M in it.
All other aspects of the system work fine.
Anyone else seeing this? Any clues?

Surprised there hasn't been anyone else experiencing this issue.
I have seen this on 2 new MBP 2.3mhz i5's with the Intel HD 3000 384mb graphics, Lion 10.7.3 & 10.7.4.
Also with the latest Lion firmware for the late 2011 MBP's that addresses compatibility and stability issues.
Hopefully there is a fix soon because the painting on my locked screen to login is getting annoying

Resume From Sleep Login UI Problem

I'll keep this short and sharp.
Previously, when I would resume my mac from sleep, it would make the screen look similar to the normal login screen. With things spread out and nicly formatted. With the menu bar showing the essentials like network, time, and battery in the upper left.
Now, when I resume from sleep a small window appears telling me I need to enter my password to "unlock the screen".
What would cause this? Any applications that I might have installed without being aware?
I have restarted 2/3 times, and I will continue to do so for a short while more, in the hope that it can help me.
Oh. This is after resuming from sleep only. When I get to the normal login screen after turning it on, it's fine, and just as normal.

Its really hard to say something about this I can only say that I cant notice this problem on my Windows installation.
By the way: Do you use the Windows version from Toshiba or your own Windows installation?
Theoretically it could be a problem of your Windows installation or HDD itself Are you able to test another HDD or Windows installation that you can make sure its not a software problem?

Login screen problem

Hello, I have a problem with my macbook (lion): my login screen doesn't work well cause I disabled my profile visualization using onyx. Now I can see only the guest user and I can't enter in my admin profile. How can I riactivate my admin profile?

go to system preferences->accounts, unlock the lock at the bottom and click on login options. select "display login window as list of users".

I deleted bounded code and In another Unit Test I created a simple login.jspx page and applied form based authentication but still facing same problem means something wrong in starting.

Blue Background Login Screen Problem

Hello everyone,
I tried to change my login screen's background using sudo commands and now it's this light blue and I can't seem to change it no matter what method I try.
This is the method that messed everything up:

I looked in my computers login plist as well as my CoreServices folder to make sure that the login image is the image I want and they both have the correct folder down. Has anyone had this problem and fixed or helped someone fix this?
This is a purely aesthetic problem but it's really, really getting to me. It's almost to the point where I'm trying to revert to an older time on my computer (Time Machine?).
If someone could please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I found the solution to this problem on another forum. If anyone finds this, this is what you do:
Delete the com.apple.loginwindow.plist that you can find in the /Library/Preferences folder. After this I recommend using an Application to set your backround (so that you aren't fiddling with things yourself). You can either use Desktop 2 Login or Login Back -- either work. Anyways, I'd back up your plist file before you delete just incase. This worked for me and hopefully it works for you.

Login keychain problems

I accidentally deleted the "login" keychain instead of a specific key in that keychain. I then restored the keychain using backup3, which seemed to work. However, it won't store new passwords, and asks me if I want to reset my keychain to default (which sounds bad to do). I tried keychain repair...it "verify"'s fine but then terminates "unexpectedly" on repair (see log, below). In addition, even before all this trouble, I needed to re-enter my airport password everytime I used it (a new problem) recently...checking "save password in keychain" didn't work...even before the whole delete/restore business.

Back your iTunes by copying the entire folder to an external drive.
Create a Lion USB installer.
Boot from than, format the HD, and reinstall Lion.
Don't import anything automatically, just start your fresh install from scratch.
Copy the iTunes folder into ~/Music.

Oracle forms application login cursor problem

Hi,
Goodmorning to all. I've a problem here. I've an application in Forms 6i istalled in my system which has a problem in the Login page where when you press the Tab button, the cursor is moving from one item to another. It is working fine in another system but this is the client's system on which I'm facing the problem . I reinstalled the application 3 times but to no effect. Can anyone help me out?

You really were not very clear. What exactly is the problem? Is the cursor not moving, is it moving to the wrong item, etc?
Additionally, is this a web form or client/server? What is the client platform and version? If a web form, which browser and version? If web, which Jinitiator or Sun JRE version? What is the complete Forms 6i version?

Workspace login time problem

I noticed this happening on our installation after a reboot of our servers. If I recall correctly, one of the services "Workspace - Agent Service" or something similar was set to manual and was not running. After turning it on, workspace login breezed through. I've since set the service to automatic and have not faced the problem since. Could you check to see if this was the case?
Similarly, whenever one of the ancillary services such as Reporting or Planning crashes, I face this issue and I know that one of the dependency services is down.

Login iChat Problems

I've some problems on Login in iChat... It seems to be appearing the password requirement, which I already put in the correct password...
'iChat can’t log in to (my account name) because your login ID or password is incorrect.'

One server & group having login + mail problems

But other servers & groups are not.
Here is my setup at a K-12 school:
-Three XServe Intel Xeons (one per division of the school) for three groups of users, network home directories live on these intel machines, running 10.4.10
-One G5 server handles LDAP (OD Master), DNS, DHCP for our network (another G5 server is OD replica), running 10.4.10
Now, one group of users (Elementary School) is having very long login times, generally slow performance with applications, and they're also getting many errors with email: the Mail app gives them an error that it can't access their mail, as either their home directory is full, or that their mailboxes are locked, when neither of these are true.
I had thought there might be school-wide problems, but have been able to narrow down the errors, slow logins, and Mail.app issues to this single group of users.
I'm not sure which logs to look at to begin to try to remedy this situation, but if anyone has any suggestions -- what I should compare between the three division servers to see if the one is getting errors the others are not / what I might check in DNS/DirectoryAccess to see if one thing is not working on the one and is on the others -- any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Login name problem

How can I correct a problem with my login name? My problem started when I could not get InDesign CS2 to open. I ran Disk Aid to repair permissions and found my login was showing as an "illegal name." This problem apparently is only connected to the InDesign software. When I created a test login, I had no problem opening InDesign. But of course I can't switch to a new login w/o losing all my personalized setups in other software – or can I? And I can't keep loggin out and using a different log-in just to use InDesign. What's my solution?

you have to run the stored procedure
use <SID>
exec sp_changedbowner '<Valid Login>'
after you attached the database with sp_attach_db. It is recommended to use the 'sa' login as the owner, as NT logins may change. But you can use an NT login as well, if you want.

ARD Login Script Problem

I have a Mac lab that I am controlling with ARD. I know you can use the following UNIX script to login..

... However, my problem is that, for various reasons, the logins are set to choose from a list of accounts, not to enter the username. In other words, after the machine boots up, the user chooses the name of the account and then is prompted for the password.
Can this script be modified to select a user or is there another way to script it?

Agetty's problem? or login's problem?(solved)

Hello all!!
I don't know what happened, I couldn't not login in the virtual console... Everytime i input my username, it will skip the password input step and show me some information about login this command itself. I guess there is a problem with my agetty or login file.
I tried login command: sudo login -p zhe
but it doesn't work, the output is only this
Usage: login [-p] [name]
login [-p] [-h host] [-f name]
login [-p] -r host
So I guess my login file has some problem?

copying the login file from directory bin in the installation CD solved the problem, but still it is really odd....
