Logitech bluetooth mouse too sensitive

Hello!
Well, I have a bluetooth, Logitech Notebook mouse. I'm not sure of the exact model number, but I believe it's the V270, as in this mouse:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,crid=1792,contentid=1 1016,osid=9
I linked to the driver "download" page - that is, if there was one. True, it works just fine with OS X's built in drivers, but it's way too fast. I have moved the mouse sensitivity to the second-to-lowest point in the OS X mouse prefs pane, but it's far too fast and imprecise. If I move it to the lowest point, it's far far too slow. WIthout a logitech driver, I'm kinda stuck between having a bluetooth mouse that's too sensitive, and a Microsoft USB mouse that's a bit uncomfortable (a bit too big). My Powerbook didn't come with a mouse.
Speaking of which, I have a PowerBook 15" 1.67 G4 model, running OS 10.4.8, with built in bluetooth. I have it sitting on top of my 3/4" inch thick desk - made out of particleboard - and the mouse on the tray just below. the mouse is less than a foot from the PowerBook's optical drive, to the lower right, so's probably not an issue with bad reception.
Does anyone have an idea of how to lower sensitivity? A third-party plugin? A terminal command? Automator? Something?
Thanks a bunch,
-Dan

Woah, that was fast!
Yes, I've tried that download. It seems to be looking for a USB connection, such as one of those mice with a USB transmitter. It says "No Logitech Device Found"
That's the problem.
Both Macupdate and the logitech site link to the same program, BTW.
I'll look into Steermouse and USB overdrive, but again, No USB connection at all, since it connects directly to the built-in-USB card.
Thanks for the fast response,
-Dan
Oooh! Look at that! It's snowing! Again! (sigh....)
I'm ready for spring now....

  • Ipad 2 can't see logitech bluetooth mouse M557

    Hi,
I made sure that this mouse would connect to my ipad 2 before I bought it and other bluetooth equipment. My iPad sees and connects to everything else but not the mouse. I am able to connect the mouse fine to my HP laptop.
I've checked the Apple website ant this logitech bluetooth mouse M557 (http://www.logitech.com/en-ch/product/bluetooth-mouse-m557) should connect to Mac OS and IPad 2.  Is that simply not true or am I doing something wrong.  I've checked the driver is up-to-date via laptop, I've restarted everything several times and I've tried googling to see if others have had an issue. The only think I've found is a way to "hack" my iPad but i REALLY don't want to do this!!
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Chromebook 14 & Logitech Bluetooth Mouse

I'm trying to operate my HP Chromebook 14, with a Logitech Bluetooth Mouse.
    The Chromebook model is 14-Q063cl.
The Logitech mouse model is M-RCQ142
The Logitech Mouse is recognized, and works correctly for a while, then randomly stops working.
It is necessary to Disable Bluetooth then re-"Enable" Bluetooth on the Chromebook, to get it to work again (for a few minutes).
    What is the problem?

Which model are you using? I am using the Logitech  Performance MX.

  • Issue with Logitech Bluetooth mouse

    Hi everyone!
I have some problems in correctly configuring my Logitech v270 bluetooth mouse. I followed all the steps in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_Mouse, but I still can't connect automatically at startup. Each time I boot my laptop, I must type
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth stop
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start
at the root prompt to get it work.
Please note that I also completed this step: I added to my /etc/rc.local this line:
hidd --connect <enter here your bluetooth mouse address (No capitals!!!)>
    Some ideas?
    Thank you!

Same issue,  been a problem since I purchased last Christmas.  Sometimes I want to throw this piece of crap out and buy a mac.  Lenovo, get your head out of your ass.

  • Logitech bluetooth mouse not found on restarting Mac Pro

    hi
for some time now I have been using a logitech V270 bluetooth mouse with my Mac Pro which has a bluetooth 2.0 card installed. all works fine except that when i restart my Mac Pro the mouse is generally not automatically detected and i get the 'bluetooth mouse setup' screen with the message 'there isn't a mouse connected'. i then need to press the reset button on the mouse and go through the usual connection procedure.
i wonder i anyone has any advice as to how i can get this set up so that the Mac Pro automatically connects
    thanks

    Hello all -
I found a solution to this by using Bluetooth Explorer. I had previously tried this and it didn't work, however I realized that I was using an old version of Bluetooth Explorer! When I downloaded the newest version from apple, it worked like a charm and I was able to select which Bluetooth adapter I wanted to use. Switched it over to the USB dongle and it works perfect now. No more skipping mouse, woo hoo!

  • Mouse too sensitive or driver problem?

I've noticed that for the past half year, my mouse buttons have been too sensitive. I'll attempt to singleclick, but it will register as a doubleclick.
Does it sound like my mouse is too sensitive (maybe because the contacts are dirty) or is something xorg wrong with the input drivers that would cause this to occur? I do know that there was a problem a while ago with jumpy/jittery mouse control, but that never happened to me.

Hi people. I'have this problem too with my Synaptics Touchpad. I've installed gsynaptics tool (Preferences->Touchpad) and selected "Tapping Time" to the shortest value with no effect apparently, it is still too damn sensitive.
Also, my xorg.conf is completely commented out! So I think everything is HAL-detected. Any ideas ?

  • Magic Mouse too Sensitive Under Mavericks

Sensitivity is an issue with all Apps under Mavericks.  The slightest touch is detected as a swipe or scroll.   I can't find any preference to adjust this.  Any suggestions?
The sensitivity was fine under Mountain Lion.

I wanted to add my voice to this post as well
I am finding it increasingly frustrating to work in Mavericks and one of the issues is this magic mouse touch sensitivity!
I am a graphic designer and I do a lot of layout work with the mouse. When I am fine tuning layouts and dragging and dropping in Adobe Illustrator I find a LOT of issues where things are sliding around left/right and up/down at the slightly twitch of my finger. This is not pinned to this specific application though. I find the same experience across all applications where I have to drag, drop, and place things on a screen as well as with regular scrolling where there is some "wiggle" in a window when trying to scroll up and down. For instance, on Chrome the screen regularly moves a little left to right just when my finger is sitting on the mouse not really moving. It's noticable on Chrome because it has the "bounce" effect when you scroll past the boundaries of the website you are view
    This is extremly frustrating!
This is not related to the tracking or the scrolling speed. It is something different entirely.

  • Mouse Too Sensitive in Fullscreen Apps

Normally on the XFCE4 desktop my mouse is perfect (using Synaptics driver on my Lenovo Ideapad S205) but if I open any fullscreen apps such as ScummVM, the mouse suddenly becomes incredibly sensitive and moves far too fast (and quite inaccurately too, making it hard to select some things as if the mouse is suddenly operating as a very low DPI).
This is just inside the app, if I leave the fullscreen program then the mouse if fine again.
Has anyone else experienced this before and does anyone know of a fix?

I would guess that it's a bug in SDL, and check the SDL bugzilla.
Also check the xorg bugzilla re synaptics bugs, 'cos Arch uses bleeding-edge xorg (I'm still on xorg-server 1.9.5 with patches pinched from Fedora and Mageia, because I found 1.10.x unstable).

  • Mouse too sensitive

My Apple wireless mouse is way too sensitve on scrolling, it always scroll when it is not mean to be. How can I disable it or make it less sensitive?
OS: Windows 7 on Boot Camp (running on iMAC)
    Thanks

I don't know about windows, but in OSX in system preferences/settings/mouse untick one finger scrolling. Two finger scrolling is much less sensitive - use that if you want to scroll from the mouse. Don't actually see the need - it's a mouse after all!

  • X61s TrackPointer and Mouse Too Sensitive In Powerpoint 2003

    Hello,
I have an X61s with Vista Business and am running PowerPoint 2003.  The TrackPoint pointer seems to be outrageously sensitive in this application - simply clicking on something is enough not only to highlight it, but also move the object slightly, even if the pointer didn't move.  This occurs even with an external mouse, and even with the external mouse's software suite loaded and enabled (Logitech SetPoint was loaded in an attempt to cure the external mouse behavior - it didn't help or hinder).
I have disabled pointer acceleration, and the pointer speed is smack in the middle of the scale.
As this is happening with both the mouse and the TrackPointer, gut feel says there's a setting somewhere to be tweaked.
I've searched the archives and can't find anything similar.  Anyone have any suggestions?
    TIA
    GG
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Do you have Press-to-select enabled? I always disable it because I get unintended mouse clicks.
I'm using PowerPoint 2007 on my X61, and my wife uses PowerPoint 2003 on her X61s, and our TrackPoints behave normally. I'm pretty sure PowerPoint does not meddle with mouse settings.
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

  • MAcbook pro - Logitech  Bluetooth mouse

    Hi there,
I have had a Macbook pro for 6-7 months now (lovin' it). I'm using it for graphics (adobe suite) at work. Connected to it is a Logitech V470 Cordless (Bluetooth) Laser Mouse. Everything was working fine. Suddenly the mouse started to lag horribly, goes slow, u cant even click on a button not to mention doing precise jobs like graphics. Could somebody help me out with this? Do i need to reinstall the system? (Leopard 10.5.5) Or maybe do a clean install? Would it help?
The things i tried so far:
Replaced the batteries in the mouse
Connected the mouse to another pc (it worked perfectly so it's not the mouse)
Installed the setpoint(hate them) drivers (did not help)
    Uninstalled the setpoint drivers
Tried to turn off the airport card - didn't help
Pleas help me it's sooo annoying.
    Thanks in advance!
    Steve

While I'm not 100% satisfied with it, I recently switched from the puny mouse to a microsoft wireless laser 8000 (Bluetooth) and for the most part I like it. I haven' yet experienced any lag, it tracks better over surfaces like bedding, sofas etc. than the mighty mouse, and while I have yet to figure out how to program the side to side functions of the scroll wheel to act as 'back' and forward' buttons when browsing, many of its 5 buttons can be integrated into OS X. For instance, pressing the scroll wheel down yields the same effect as with mighty mouse: all app windows are pushed to sides to reveal desktop. The two more awkard side buttons can be used for expose or spaces, and lo and behold, the bloody mouse has a right button as well as a left, unlike that white horror I paid $70 for through Apple.

  • Logitech Bluetooth Mouse

I'm new to Mac, and have just ordered a MacBook Pro. I'd like to get a wireless mouse to use with it, and am considering the Logitech V470 Bluetooth Notebook Mouse (comparing it to the Logitech VX Nano USB Mouse). I'd appreciate any suggestions on which would work better. Thank you.

i'd suggest avoiding Logitech mice. i've had several over the last few years and they are always let down by Logitech's sub-par drivers.
    i order a BT600 from RadTech and i'm loving it. http://www.radtech.us/Products/BluetoothMice.aspx

  • Mini and Logitech V270 Bluetooth mouse

I just got my mac mini core solo and am having difficulty with my bluetooth mouse. I also have a MacBookPro that I was using with the V270 Logitech bluetooth mouse. With the MBP, it works flawlessly. It tracks well and has a pretty good range (20+ feet).
When I connect the V270 to the mac mini (after disconnecting MacBookPro/V270 Bluetooth), I get very limited connection. At about one foot away the mouse tracks poorly and 10 feet away it completely disconnects.
I brought it into the local Apple store for a Genius to look at it and had similar problems. It did poorly on a mini and it did much better on the macbookpro. Although not as good as it has been working at home. The genius did think that the problem was the V270 but he was unable to recommend a good multibutton mouse to work with the mini.
Has this problem happened to anyone else? Were you able to isolate the problem to the mouse or to the mini. If it's the mouse, can anyone recommend a good two button mouse with scroll wheel
    Thanks,
    Mike
    Mac mini solo

I exchanged my original V270 and got a brand new one to test out. When I brought it home, it reacted the exact same way. Works well on the macbookpro and works erratically on the intel mini.
I called up apple support again and they told me that the V270 may not be compatible with the mac mini and I should contact Logitech to verify its compatibility. I sent off an email to Logitech and am waiting for a reply.
One thing I noticed was that the mouse worked much better when it was used behind the mini. Its still bad, but better.
    I'll keep you posted.
