Logoff / Logout Web Browser

Hi,
I have an application that is run on a brower (Internet Explorer).  We want a logout button.  I know that when you click the x in IE, it closes the browser and you are logged out of SAP.  My question is: upon clicking the x, is there some background process that logs you off of SAP?  or is the logoff merely a side effect?
Thanks!

Hi Audrey,
if you mean a Web Dynpro application there is a small JavaScript event handler which reacts on closing the browser window and does a specific server request to initiate cleanup and logoff.
Hope that helps.
Regards
Stefan

  • Issue in running JavaFX application in web browser

Our team currently was developing a desktop application which now needs to be run in a web browser. Deployment is successful, but while running it in IE 8, the background color of the IE outside the stage (from the desktop application) is coming in grey color. Our applucation's background color is white, hence, this makes it look odd. The more peculiar thing is when we run the url in IE8, the first page (login page) comes without the grey part, ie the whole window is white colored. But after logout, (the login page should be made visible) only the stage size comes in white and the rest of the window comes in grey background color. Please help in fixing this.

    to answer your questions:
how to set the browser size according to stage sizeTo resize area reserved for application in a web page you can access web page from inside of your app and use javascript to get a handle of application in the web page DOM and then set size on it as you need.
    See
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/deployment/javafx_javascript.htm#BCEIAGHE
    and
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/deployment/javafx_javascript.htm#BCEIBFGD
How to get the handle for browser size here? For embedded application you will get initial Stage in the start() sized to browser allocated area.
And you can you tip i referenced before to resize app if browser will change allocated area (due to user requests).
However, i think your real question is different:
that in the login page the stage size is smaller than the browser size we set while packagingDoes it mean your app pops create login stage first and then populate main stage?
Then good app behavior is like:
if (runningEmbedded) { //see tip 2.3.1 in the same guide
//fill given stage with something - e.g. same background as web page or some image
    popLoginPage();
//once user logged populate main stage
    populateMainStage();
And create all assets for all stages in the init(). So in start you will only adding panels to the stages and creating new stages.
You may need to erase "dummy" content from the main stage before you populate it.
Hope this helps. If not, please explain what you app is doing in more details. What do you do with stage provided in start, how you create login and other stages.
What you size your application to and what are stage dimensions.

  • Reg key to set PDF opening in Reader and not the web browser

Is there a reg key which would apply to all users/computer (not just current user, Hkey_user) to set a variable that would open PDF's in the actual Adobe Reader program and not in a web browser.
I only find references to reg key's that apply to the current users logged in, but unfortunately I work in an education facility and we use Dynamic user id's which creates a new user each time in windows, and then removes the profile on logout
    Thanks in advance,

Would you suggest downloading the Adobe Customization Wizard and creating an MST file to distribute the app?  If so, do you have documentation on where to change this setting?

  • Safari billed as full web browser...but with no flash support!!!!!

No flash support for web browsing makes Safari a pseudo browser. I have already run into many many sites that use flash that can't be displayed. But I am still happy...just want flash support.

    To : Trevor Smith
First of all, can you try to confirm it's just a affected user profile or it's the fault for mac operating system? Try creating a new user account, then open Safari, go to the website. See what happens from there. If the new user is able to access the website correctly, then it's most probably the previous user account is affected.
To try to resolve the affected account, you will need to locate the "com.apple.safari.plist & "org.mozilla.firefox.plist" files? It should be located somewhere in this folder ; user/Library/Preferences. Note : if the user account you are using is created as Trevor, then it's Trevor/Library/Preferences. Locate the files named "com.apple.Safari.plist" & "org.mozilla.firefox.plist". Delete and trash completely. Logout of the machine and re-login again. Open Safari, and try the affected website again. See if it resolves the issue now.
Another thing to check, is your internet configuration. Make sure you are not bypassing any proxy server, as you do not need to do any bypass of the proxy servers.
    Keep me update, alright?
    Cheers

  • How can I open multiple instances of the same folder and web browser in different desktops in Lion?

I've selected "none" for association but it doesn't work. In other words, I have a Dropbox folder on my desktop. I'd like to be able to open that same folder using the same shortcut on different Lion desktops. However, whenever I try to use the same shortcut on a different desktop, it switches to the one where it's already open. Same problem with web browsers; if I try to just click on a web browser to create a new window, it will take me back to the other desktop.
I didn't have this problem before I had to replace my hard drive and update everything again. I am aware of the "restart Finder" option as well as associating programs with individual desktops. All of the things in question are currently selected as "none."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just set Safari's option to None. That is I right clicked on the dock, selected options, and chose none. Also, in Mission Control's tab of System Preferences I clicked Off When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for that application. That let me open a new Safari window no matter what desktop I was in. But I had to do both. Just setting the desktop option to none didn't seem to do it. Finder seems to work okay with just the none option set.

  • A way to have part of the screen presentation and part live web browser?

I'm trying to put together a presentation that involves demonstrating a
    live web site.
Neither Keynote or Powerpoint will let me imbed live web pages into a presentation on a MAC. (ibrowser plug-in will do it for powerpoint PC but not MAC).
I'm wondering if there isn't some way to use two programs to accomplish my goal, which is to have notes about the live web page on screen (sort of prompting and reminding me of what to show next on the web site), while showing the web site and working with it on another portion of the screen.
I come close by creating a powerpoint presentation creating my "prompting notes"
on only the far left side of the powerpoint pages, then turning it into a PDF, then opening the PDF but pushing the window all the way to the right side of the computer screen so on the right I see my "notes" and on the left to center of the computer screen I have the live SAFARI web browswer. I can move from page to page on my slides by hitting the "next" page button on the pdf PREVIEW window.
It kinda works, but isn't anywhere near as slick or clean as I'd like.
Can anyone think of a cleaner way to do this with any combo of MAC applications?
    Thanks for any input.

I figured it out myself! I'm making a quicktime movie out of the presentation,
scale the quicktime window to a corner of the screen, and then have the web
browser on the rest of the screen.
Just thought I'd post in case anyone else had this problem and was looking for
    an solution!

  • Photo Gallery not showing photos in computer Web browser

None of my photo gallery photos are showing up in a computer's Web browser?  They show up fine when you click "View Web Journal in Safari" on an iPad 2, but when I publish them to iCloud and Share the Web Journal Link, the photos don't show up??  It's happening with all of my Journals.  It doesn't work on a Mac or Windows?  What gives??
    You try it:https://www.icloud.com/iphoto/projects/#1;CAEQARoQdoVWsxptdYjcSQD-Rg1QVg;B692688 8-A220-4FF7-848F-6383BB15A5DB

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, matey. They all show for me in Safari but require several page refreshes to get them all to display.  Those that don't display will if I click on it and then go back to the page.  However, when retuning to the first page will put be back at square one and require multiple refreshes to get them to display, but not always.
Also, the page links are all messed up.  Clicking on them just returns me to the first page. If I Option click on a page link from Page 1 I will get to the right page.
I am unable to get Firefox or Chrome to work at all on your gallery.

  • Can I view documents in a web browser?

I was under the assumption I would be able to send my documents to iCloud and then edit them within a web browser. Is this not the case?
When I go to iCloud.com all I see is an option to install iWork on IOS devices.

Your assumption was wrong.  You can not edit them online.

  • AdobeAcrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF Files in Web Browser...what do I need to do to fix this..

I just got Windows 7 and have been having problems since loading it. Most of my drivers only go to Vista and don't recognize 7.
I have trying to download some manuals from their website
and keep getting this message; Adobe Acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in Web Browser.

Could I suggest a workaround for PDFs until a solution is posted? Open them directly in the Adobe application rather than in a browser tab.
In your Adobe application(s), go to:
    Edit > Preferences > Internet
Then uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
(There are very few sites where having PDF integrated is really beneficial.)

  • Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome)  -  the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
    "Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit  Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
    Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat  as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat  installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

  • Reader 9.2 - "can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser"

    Hello,
I recently deployed Adobe 9.2 within our organization. I used the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 to transform the install set, and selected the "Display PDF in Browser" option as default.
When opening a PDF linked from a web URL, we get the message: "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." This occurs under IE8 and IE6, in both Windows XP SP2 and Windows 7.
If I launch Adobe Reader and unselect "Display PDF in Browser" in preferences, PDFs open normally.

    I'm having a similar issue.
Did a fresh install of 11.2.0.1.0 under Windows 2003 - latest updates - IE 8.
I can access Enterprise Manager from other computers - but not from the local server.
    I've tried both: https://oracle.xxxx.xxx:1158/em and https://localhost:1158/em
Both give me the generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - but if I access from another computer it comes up - so I know everything is working...
