Lookout 6.02 Hypertrend and Alarms only Issue
I recently upgraded from lookout 4.5 to 6.02. Since the upgrade I have seen two issues. The lookout 6.02 clients show all alarms and events even when the alarms only filter is selected. This only happens on the client application, the server / development server applications run fine.
The second and bigger issue is that my hypertrends are all over the place. I look at the trends on the server and they look correct. The same trend on the client application shows gaps on the trend where no data is plotted then the data continues. I have gone to several clients and I am seeing inconsistent trending on each client data just keeps disappearing in different places on the grid. I do have the 6.02 update files installed on the server. And the issue exists whether using the lookout hypertrend or the NI Active X hypertrend. It is almost like the client application needs to be updated as well. Reading other posts it appears that others have had similar hypertrend issues but I could not find that anyone had a resolution to the problem.
Has anyone else encountered/resolved these same issues? I am on the verge of trying to try rolling back to version 5.1 If I cant resolve this issue.
If you are using a free client software, not a server version, the client does not filter any alarms. It's a known issue in Lookout. There is a workaround right now, follow these steps to use NI AlarmEvent Browser ActiveX control.
Add the ActiveX object called NI AlarmEvent Browser to the Client Process.
On the Properties window for the ActiveX object, click on the Property Pages button.
Set the PopupMenu property to True and then set the Active property to True.
Exit and close out of the various property windows, saving the changes.
Drag the new ActiveX object onto the panel and size appropriately.
Go to Run Mode.
Right-click on the Alarm and Event Viewer and choose to Select Processes...
Select the server process you wish to monitor and click OK.
You should now see any active alarms and events. Right-click on the Alarm and Event Viewer again to set the Filter Options and acknowledge alarms.
The second question is also a know issue. Sometimes the hypertrend stops refreshing. It's maybe caused by a "missing data". This problem is to be fixed in the next version of Lookout.
Do you have a firewall enabled? If yes, I'd like you to disable it and see if hypertrend works.

Hi, I submitted this question in LiveCycle Designer and probably should have posted it here....
I have a form that was imported from a PDF document in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. I added a 3 of 9 barcode and the Default value is the form number (*1.764903.105NFS*). I do not want a user to be able to click on the barcode, so I made it Read Only. When this form is opened in Adobe Acrobat, I'm not able to click on the barcode, however, when this form is opened in Adobe Reader, I'm able to click on the barcode and the value displays (the form number) - which is what I do NOT want to happen. I have added Adobe Reader Extensions and I'm opening the form in Adobe Reader 9.4.
Also having the same barcode issue with forms that are designed in LC Designer.Uncheck Read Only on the song files in Windows Exploder.

I have Iphone 5 and have an issue with deleting part of the messages in Imessage conversation. The trash button is not displayed to delete part of the imessage. I see only delete all option. Is it a bug?

If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:
How do I delete a message?
To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

ive recently updated, itunes and all my movies have disappeared,i can no longer add to library from my external hdd which ive always used and can only add from the laptops own hard drive,any ideas what the issue could be?if i transfer the movies from the external to the laptop they will add to the library without any problem so theres no issue with the laptop but when i go to add file in itunes i can path to the external but as soon as i select the file nothing happens, just goes back to itunes
This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk. -

I purchased an iPad air and chose a backup from my iPhone 5s. The only issue is only 30 of my photos downloaded to my iPad and none of the music. How can I get all items on the iPad?
you are using I tunes as the middle man for this back up, right?
When you plug in the pad to i tunes, give it a unique name, like my pad. I tune may be thinking it is talking to your phone. It will keep track of what you what on each device. Then plug your phone back in, and make sure your photos are uploaded to the computer - in i photo if you are using a mac, or in whatever photo program you are using on a windows device. You also want to make sure you have uploaded to the computer all of your music.
Once you get all that stuff there, plug the pad back in, and go through each of the tabs - selecting the music, photos etal that you want on the pad, then resync. -
Expresscard firewire audio issue - works occasionally and 192k ONLY?
I'm trying to use an OWC expresscard/34 1394A+USB 2.0 expansion card to run my Desktop konnect 6 audio interface. My 17" MBP (2010) only has the one FW800 port and I wanted to expand two more firewire400 ports (from expresscard) for audio recording use and am running into this problem...audio will only sometimes work but only at the ultra-high rates like 176000hz or 192000hz - the lower resolution rates (like 44.1k and 48k) only scratch and pop.
has anyone successfully used an expresscard/34 with an external firewire audio interface (MOTU or t.c electronic)???
this is so weird...Sorry to hear about your issue.
In your case, if you can live with using the headset when making calls for the time being, I am sure Nokia/Microsoft will release a patch for this issue soon as it's a pretty major fault.
I would see if you can contact Microsoft or Nokia support to get an idea of when to expect a fix - perhaps your Nokia store has contact details they can give you.
If you are not happy with that, and want a solution immediately, I would see if you can get a refund - you should have grounds as the phone isn't really fulfilling its function.

My iMessage and Facetime won't activate, says waiting for activation. All photos and contacts are restored, using email and wifi only, no service. Only issue is date and time will not automatically set.

I am using an early 2008 MacBook Pro and am having issues with it deleting text on its own (in word, emails, etc.). As I am typing it all of a sudden starts deleting and I can't stop it. This happened once before and it was due to a buldging battery pressing on the track pad. I checked the battery and it appears to be fine. What can I do?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
How do I permanently set the alarm view on the client to show alarms only
Our client process is displaying events and alarms. When I set the display options to alarms only, the current events are cleared and only alarms are displayed. Any new events that occur continue to be displayed from that point on. I would like to setup the client to only display alarms.
Yes, it is a known bug in Lookout client process. The workaround now is to use the AcitveX AlarmEvent Browser if you really want to filter the event in client process.

Hi all,
After software update of my Nokia N78 I retrieve many problems;
please see the list below:
1) Data change suddenly
for example... 26 April ... to 8 May
I noticed that this issue happens often during the week-end.
2) Alarm doesn't work for the daily scheduling
For example:
Scheduled alarm at 17:00 everyday.
sometime happen that the next day alarm doesn't start !!!
3) Alarm don't turn on the phone.
Like the point 2, but in this case often the phone doesn't wake up me !
4) The sort of SMS message.
happened that 5/6 old sms was on top list (sorted by date)
I delete this messages in order to fix this issue.

I have a great news for Nokia guys. I deleted all jobs alarm... I mean, I'm not using N78 alarms, and the date issue seem solved !
Unfortunately this is only a workaround, I'm using the alarm of my great N73
I'm an Analyst/Programmer Senior... Nokia, please, check your alarm application that most probably caused too much problem.

How to file the complaint for GEEK SQUAD installation for car remote and alarm security ?
My name is Benny. I want to install the remote start and alarm in My 2015 Toyota Highlander. before I make an appointment. I go to Bestbuy store and make sure it's compatible with the Viper Responder LC3 5706V 2-Way Remote Start and Security System. Bestbuy print out the document everything say is compatible with my vehicle. and then I make an Appointment on July 31, 2015, 01:00 PM 4 Hrs162 SANTILLI HWY EVERETT MA Confirmation Number: VRJF2718. it is the lady help me to install it. she say it take 4 to 5 hours to finish. I said I wait here at Bestbuy out there until finish installation. After more than 5 hours. I come in the Bestbuy mobile installation there. and the lady tell me my car is broke fuse link. The vehicle will not start. and also she said she did not touch anything. I ask why the fuse is broke if you did not touch anything. she said the fuse broke all the time. It is normal. My car less than 1400 miles. just like new. My all family use Toyota. 6 year never broke the engine fuse. She try to tell me the fuse link broke is not because the installation process. She try to tell is not her responsibility. She said already call Woburn Toyota repair on Monday. I m so worry about my car. I take the subway to Wellington station and walk to Bestbuy on the next day. and then she tell me the car has to tow to Woburn Toyota to repair. on August 4. I went to Bestbuy with my friends. We talk to the Geek Squad manager I think his name is Jason. He tell me the car can fix and pick up today about 1PM, I called Woburn Toyota and they tell me pick up my car. after pick up my car. I have to go back to Bestbuy finish the remaining installation because the viper already installed in my car. About 2:30PM. Tom said it take about 20 to 30 minutes to program the key. after Program the key. It has problem to start the engine. Sometime the engine start only a few seconds it shut it down. He don't know how to program the key, the key has the code has to match the car. Tom keep try and try to start the engine until the car battery is dead. and then use the jump starter to charge the battery. and keep try and try. I don't remember how many time he try to start the engine. it make me very scare. I ask Tom many time about the compatible. He said yes. about 6PM. I talk to the manager, I said do you think will tow my car again. He tell me to talk to Tom. I told Tom I have to use my car tomorrow for work. I paid to much for the cab. And then he take out the Vipers. Wednesday 4:40am in the morning. I drive for my job. I found out the automatic light is not on. it has other issue. The Auto switch is on, but the automatic light is not on. me and my friends went to Bestbuy again and talk to manager. First He said is not my responsibility. You already pick up the car. I m telling you. no one will know the automatic sensor will broke if not drive at night or dark place. I have my KDLINKS X1 FULL HD WIDE ANGLE CAR DASHBOARD CAMCORER WITH GPS install in my car. The installation day is July 31. All drive load recorded. July 31. I drive my friends to China town and get in the Tunnel and then go back to Bestbuy get in the tunnel again. It show the light automatic on. No any problem when I drop on Bestbuy. I have alot Evidence prove. No one touch my new car. Only Geek Squad. I lost money because the Viper Responder LC3 5706V already used. It can't return it. Also I lost time. wait long time in Bestbuy, 4 hours job it take 5 days. I have no car to use. I have to paid the cab for my job. I have to drive my car to Woburn Toyota to see what is broke on 08/7/2015. After 5 hours long wait. The Toyota said Tom forgot to connect the wire. They said the first time broke the big fuse link and tow to Toyota repair. It is the big problem. It broke because they start the engine more than hundred time. I know because I took the chair and wait inside the second time with Tom. He try to start my engine between 5 second. I know what is troubleshooting. but if you try to start the engine 3 time and not work. You will know is sometime wrong. You have to find out the problem and maybe get help. Not just keep try to start the engine on the remote. I tell Tom even you try thousand time. it could be the same. I know I complaint the first time when they broke my car big fuse. but please don't treat my car like that. I want to ask you. if you take your car there for installation. You wait there more than 5 hours and your new car is broke by them. and you have no car to use for your job. Are you happy about that. Second time he said only take 30 minutes to program the key. It take me wait there 5 hours. He forgot connect the wire. If you don't believe, you can call Woburn Toyota. Everyone know Bestbuy broke my 2015 Toyota Highlander. Bestbuy should reimburse my lost. I lost time and money. The Viper I can't return to other retail store because it used by your company. It fail to install and broke my car. I try to call Geek squad 18004335778 two times and talk to different people. they just hand up my phone after I tell my stories.
