Lookup for Bank Numbers on Adobe LiveCycle

Hello everyone
On a PDF form for Personal Data I want from the field Bank Account Nr. to automatically pull out the Number of the Bank. The problem is that there are nearly 8000 Bank Numbers for Switzerland. The idea is from the Bank Account Number to pull out the Search Number and from that Search Number to pull out the corresponding Bank Number. Here is a fictional example:
Bank Account Number: CH5809000000803940838.
Search Number: 09000 . It pulls out the first 5 characters from the fifth character (when multiplied with 1 I get the search number 9000).
Bank Number: 90000000 (the corresponding Bank Number for 9000)
The problem is that for some Search Number the corresponding Bank Number is completely different (example: Search Number equals 6368 but the actual Bank Number is 895425)
My PDF Form has already a Data Connection with a xsd file to generate other Personal Data fields. I know that is possible to generate the condition with a very large if statement (with thousands of if statementsfor every Bank Number) but is there maybe a simpler solution. Maybe a smaller java script formula or something similar.
My company needs this PDF Form because we want to export the data in XML.
I appreciate every possible help.

A few questions/things to think about.
Could the problem lie in the data you have? Does that entry where you're seeing ZZ9906368... actually need to have ZZ990895425... or something like that?
How long are the bank numbers supposed to be? You've got an example with a nine digit number and an example with a six digit number. In the US, for example, all routing numbers are guaranteed to be nine digits. So, if you give a similar set of strings like your post suggests you have, I know that I can slice a string at the same place each time to get the routing number. E.g., nfRoutingNumber.slice(5,13) would give me the routing number without having to do any extra searches. Are you able to do that? Or are the numbers you're searching for going to get you do a different number that might be a different length?

  • ADOBE AIR for offline applications or Adobe LiveCycle Designer Offline form

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement of recreating the XK01 Customer Master Creation functionality and host it as online application in SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal. I have done this by creating a Web Dynpro ABAP application and embedding a adobe livecycle designer interactive forms (having same fields as required for Customer Master creation in XK01). In online scenario, the PDF form opens up in browser. In offline scenario, the user can fill up the form and upload the form using UPLOAD button created in the Web Dynpro application. There has been some performance issues like if we have too many dropdown UI elements in the form (having many entries in each), then the form takes too much time to get uploaded.
Can we think of a alternate solution using Adobe AIR desktop application which will enable the user to fill up the form in AIR like User interface. I am new to Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR.
The online scenario  perfectly fine with Adobe LiveCycle Designer Forms and SAP ABAP Web Dynpro application. It's offline functionality where its performance hasnt been up to the mark.
Also let me know if Adobe AIR can be used in the offline scenario while ADOBE forms in online scenarion or is it mandatory to have AIR AND FLEX in offline and online scenario respectively.
    Please advise.
    Regards.
    Rohit

hi,do you still need an answer for this question?
Because Adobe flex and air are very good solutions for a offline and online scenario

  • Does anybody know how to get the license for Adobe LiveCycle if i dont have the installation disk?

    Hi,
I no longer have the installation disk for Adobe LiveCycle and i need to install it onto a different PC due to upgrading hardware etc... Does anybody know how to recover the licence for the version of Adobe LiveCycle we have? Can it be found in the registry or anything?
    Thanks.

Sorry, but Apple does not provide technical support via email, so they have no published email addresses. You will need to find a way to call them. Or make an appointment with the Genius Bar at an Apple Store, if there are any near you, and have them follow up.

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 Questions Go Here

You can use this forum for questions relating to Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8. LiveCycle Designer 8 is available as part of the trial for Adobe Acrobat Professional 8, and will be available in a standalone version in 2007.
There are a lot of improvements to Designer in LiveCycle Designer 8, but the main concepts and UI is the same. Because of that, we won't be creating a seperate forum for LC Designer 8, we'll use this same forum (which has been renamed to just "LiveCycle Designer".
If you have questions, please post them in this thread.
    Thanks!
    Mike

Just upgraded to Acrobat 8. My users are now receiving a warning when the form is opened in adobe reader 7.0.8 that says "WARNING, this form is not supported with the current version of adobe reader. Upgrade tot he latest version for full support." THis message seems to stay for quite a while, and is confusing the users who have the latest version of adobe reader.

  • Paper barcode gray out in adobe livecycle

When i am create a pdf form in adobe livecycle ES 4 and generate a barcode according to fill data in form ,then barcode gray out in adobe livecycle.I am also add image below which generate gray barcode after filling form.
So ,any requirement for licencing of  adobe livecycle ES 4 for paper barcode in  adobe livecycle ES 4?

You can get a full overview of the use of PDF417 barcodes on a presentation I created a number of years ago that is still very relevant: Barcoded Forms eLearning PDF417 Best Practices.
You cannot use the Barcoded Forms object on any forms that have not been processed via Reader Extensions (not free) if they are to be opened and filled in using the free Adobe Reader. They will continue to work in Acrobat but again, not in Reader. This is a licensed product from Adobe so although you can design it in Designer, you can't deploy it without proper licensing.

  • Adobe livecycle workflow and SAP workflow

    dear all,
i am working in a new development project which is yet to be started.according to my client's description, the project deals with adobe forms with SAP as backend.
i have studied and worked for one month on adobe livecycle forms and i have some knowledge about its  products.but i didnt work on any SAP system.my doubt is that
"WE HAVE ADOBE LIVECYCLE WORKFLOW IN THE WHOLE SUITE OF LIVECYCLE SOFTWARE PRODUCTS,WHICH CAN BE USEFUL TO BUILD WORKFLOWS AND IMPROVE BUSINESS PROCESSES WITH THE HELP OF BAM.BUT WHEN ADOBE FORMS AND ADOBE FORMS MANAGER ARE INTEGRATED IN SAP..WILL THE ADOBE WORKFLOW BE PRESENT AGAIN?OR IS IT GOING TO BE THE SAP WORKFLOW WHICH DEFINES THE BUSINESS PROCESSES AND INITIATES THE PROCESSES?? ALSO IF IT IS SAP WORKFLOW THEN WHAT IS THE NEED OF INTEGRATING ADOBE WITH SAP WITHOUT ADOBE LIVECYLE WORKFLOW.??
i am looking forward for any answers from ppl.plzz help me out from this doubt.
                          regards..
                                                                   raghava kumar v.s.s.

    Hi Raghava,
correct, there are currently no plans to integrate Forms Manager into SAP although we have no alternative solution within SAP, i.e. you'd have to build something like Forms Manager for your purposes.
To get a general overview on the SAP integration, start here: <a href="http://sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/interactiveforms">http://sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/interactiveforms</a>
You need NetWeaver, because the Adobe functions are part of it. Web Dynpro is one of the environments that have Adobe forms functions integrated, it is the most suitable one for interactive scenarios.
We may have a different idea of what SAP is. To me, SAP comprises the business data in the ERP/CRM/etc. system and the technology components such as NetWeaver etc. Perhaps that's the misunderstanding.
    Best,
    Markus

  • Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
    1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
    2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
    3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?
I hope someone can shed some light on these points!
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.
    Hope that helps

If a process restarts, it is because something restarted it.  Where restart means it gets a new PID.
If a process does not die after a kill, it can mean:
    a) that the process was written to catch the signal you sent (although -9 or -KILL cannot be caught).
    b) Or the process in in kernel address space and is not returning (signals cannot be delivered to a process current in Kernel address space; such as the process made a kernel system call and has not returned because the system call is hung, like waiting for an I/O to finish that is never going to finish because of a problem).
    c) you do not have sufficient privileges to kill that process (sudo kill -KILL pid # will generally kill anything that is killable).
I am assuming you are NOT including the - in the kill command, such as 1234- as I assume the kill command would not like the trailing -
You can also use Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor to see if a process is 64 or 32 bits via the 'Kind' column.  Activity Monitor also has a built-in kill button.

  • Adobe livecycle for ubuntu linux

adobe livecycle for ubuntu linux pls

This is not officialy supported to run LiveCycle ES/ES2 on any linux distribution but Enterprise Red Hat or SUSE Linux. But this does not mean this is not gonna run on Ubuntu.
I've tested LiveCycle ES2 using Glassfish and Geronimo as application servers, that are not officially suported, and that works.
For testing/developing purposes, i think you may use Ubuntu, but if you run in troubles you wont get support from Adobe.
Do not try any unsupported platform for production environments.

  • What is the latest version of adobe livecycle designer for mac?

    Hello Guys,
I am new for Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
Can some one guide me what is the latest version for Mac.
    Thanks in advance.

    HARI

    Hi HARI,
Yes, that short video is demonstrating LC Designer (albeit an earlier version).
The video is showing how to create a dynamic form, where you can add and remove items at runtime and have other dynamic features. Do develop this type of form you will need LC Designer ES2 (current version 9). As I said this runs on Windows, so you would need a virtual machine on the Mac to run Windows.
LC Designer comes with Acrobat X Pro for Windows (Note it does NOT come with Acrobat X Pro for Mac). See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html.
You also need to consider what your users will have to fill in the forms: Acrobat OR Reader. There are some features that will not be available in Reader unless you Reader enable the form. For example users with Reader will not be able to save their data in a form that has not been Reader enabled.
More info on that here: http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
You can also see some short sample forms here, which will give you an idea on some of the dynamic features: http://assure.ly/eEPuCM. All of these were created with LC Designer.
Forms that are created in LC Designer are in accordance with the XFA specification. They are wrapped in a PDF wrapper that allows then to be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However they are not like a standard/native PDF and some standard Acrobat features, like commenting may not be available.
You can also create forms directly in Acrobat, these are called AcroForms. They can be used to collect data, but generally don't have the same level of dynamic behaviour that you saw in the video.
There are plenty of examples on the forums, so I would recommend that you explore these before you make any purchase. There can be a learning curve, depending on whether you have scripted before.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall
