Lost messages when pulling from MQ via bridge

Hi all,
          I'm using a bridge to pull messages from MQ, sort them, and republish them into one of several outbound topics. I've received word from a consumer application that they aren't seeing all the messages they expect. Sure enough, they're not in my log, either (they should be.) It's infrequent (< 1%) and doesn't appear to be load-related. I'd like some feedback on what can cause this. I can't verify that I've even received the messages, though the backend producer says it sent them. I see no error messages in any logs.
          My config is to use a bridge to connect a foreign jms queue to a local queue. The messages, queues, and topics are marked as persistent. My downstream consumers have durable subscriptions. The MQ host is v6.0 in Windows 2003 Server. I'm using the lastest fixpack of the 5.3 jms libs from IBM. My WLS is 8.1 sp4 on Red Hat Enterprise 2.4.x and JRockit 1.4.2_08. I see we've set no expiration policy. I'll change that. We typically don't fall behind in consuming messages.

Well, when I re-opened mail it began downloading 3100 e-mails, so it looks like I solved it.

I am looking though for something that will run in the background and will store the "Archived" emails still within the Mail App.
Basically just moving old emails from the live IMAP mailbox to the "On My Mac" portion but maintain it's relative folder location.
The App you recommended, I'm afraid is a bit overkill for my users.
Any other suggestions?

Error message when copying from Acrobat Reader

Error message when copying from Acrobat Reader - any file, any time (Win 7, Adobe many versions until recent).
Copy works, but causes a needless and useless error message that has to be clicked away every time.
This problem is published on the web for a million times without a working solution. And even in the Adobe forum no qualified answer (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/441370)

By default sent items should be saved in your Sent folder. For IMAP type accounts you should be able to change that by selecting the account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then selecting 'Account' on the popup for it and then 'Advanced' at the bottom of the next popup

Error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003

Is anyone else getting an error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003? I tried all 4 types and still get the following:
"An error was encountered while publishing to Word. Verify the following and try again. Word is installed on your system. Word is not busy."
Word is installed on my system and was not in use, so I am not sure why the error. Any thoughts?

I use Captivate 4 and it publishes to Word 2003 without issues.
Perhaps it has to do with the way your Word 2003 has been installed? Either that or it's a "rights" issue to be addressed by your IT propellerheads?

Get an error message when importing from iPhoto says, "There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 44GB of free space."

I get an error message when importing from iPhoto that says, "There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 44GB of free space." the drive is empty, I just reformatted it to Mac OSX journaled.

I'm guessing this is an extrenal drive, correct? If so make sure the library you're importimng into is really located on the external drive. By default Aperture creates its library in your home pictures folder.

Different PS results when pulled from bridge vs LR

I pull the same file from Lightroom and Bridge into Photoshop. I run the same adjustments (color), and the results are completely different. Why?

The short answer here is that SQL does not guarantee the order of rows unless it is explicitly sorted (at the SQL level). From that point of view, you could do something like

Error when dragging from ftp into bridge

I just want to share this cautionary tale
When I drag a file from ftp into bridge I get the following message, "This operation is not permitted. Instead use restore." Then the file is deleted off the ftp site and not added to bridge. Which means I then have to call up the vendor and ask them to upload the file to ftp again because I "accidentally deleted it" - very embarrassing.
Has anyone else ever seen this? I've googled this and searched in the Adobe Support section with no results.
Windows Bridge CS3 (2.1.1.9) on XP. FTP was through windows explorer, but I've done it from an ftp app too.

Works in RSA3 but not when pulling from BI

Hi,
I created a generic dataSource(Function Module) for Bill Of Material. When testing in RSA3 it is working fine. But when pulling data from BI with particular material in the Data Selection, it is saying "No data available". If I am pulling the same with no data selection then it is giving an error message "Job terminated in source system --> Request set to red".
When checked in SM37 I see the following error messages.
No active nametab exists for /SAPAPO/MATKEY DA 300
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
Can any body help me on this

Every thing is fine in all these transactions SM58, BD87, & WE05. There is no problem with the connections at all. I replicated many times and the error is always the same.
The error message below is the reason.
No active nametab exists for /SAPAPO/MATKEY
This messsage is not coming when testing in RSA3. Only when pulling the data from BI, this error is happening.
We are not using SAPAPO but still this message is coming up.

Error when purchasing from store via iTunes

Hi
I am unable to purchase anything from the store as I keep getting the following message when I press purchase & login with my Apple ID :-
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (2001).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later"
The only option is to press ok & it goes no further. I know the ID works, as I've logged in here for this forum.
Any clues ? Am I an idiot & am missing out something ?

I have the exact same problem. It started last week when I upgraded to iTunes v9. I can't purchase any music. I get the same error message. I even tried the suggestion to log on first and then try to purchase. Same problem existed.
I contacted Apple via email and they had me completely uninstall v9 and reinstall from a fresh download. I did all that and I have the same problem. In addition, I now also have a problem in that some of the songs in my music are corrupted or don't start playing at the beginning of the song. I guess the real lesson is to never, ever upgrade iTunes.

CUPS Error message when printing from some applications

Hi. I've got an issue when printing from some apps, but not others. Up to a few months ago everything was fine, then it started when Word would not print direct to my printer (Epson Stylus Pro 3880), not a big deal as I don't use it a lot and could print it through Safari if needed. Then more worryingly as a designer I found that PDFs stopped printing direct too, again I can print through Safari and Preview. Last night I installed a firmware update and now InDesign (CS4) is refusing to print!! Not great as printing via Safari/Preview doesn't give me the same level of control over my prints. Just checked both Illustrator and Photoshop and they both print okay. I get the same error code each time "error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed" Does anyone know what could be causing this?

As Matt pointed, an application printing to CUPS controls only the format of the input. It has no direct control over the chain of filters inside the printing pipeline. Acrobat isn't coded to use pstoraster, it is simpling submitting postscript to the print queue. In an un-molested Apple supplied CUPS setup, that works fine.
What is going on is that the CUPS system configuration got mangled by some third party bits. In the Unix tradition, the configuration is fairly transparent, in the form of plain text files. In particular, in /usr/share/cups/mime you will find out exactly how the filter pipeline is configured via a table of what filter to use to convert data between two mime types. So we can inspect how the filters are setup and how a broken pstoraster is getting into the chain.
I don't have a handy "before mangling" state, but I can clearly see the Apple specified filters to be invoked when the input data is application/postscript (in apple.convs). I can also see a conflicting filter definition referencing the broken pstopdf (in mime.convs) but with a higher precedence, overriding the apple specified filter. This is why, in reference to your points #1 and #2, simply removing pstoraster fails, because the filter configuration is what needs fixing.
On my system, I found the pstoraster filter to be a shell script referencing a MacPorts install of ghostscript. I've since removed MacPorts, but that evidentally left the CUPS configuration in this broken state. Without knowing exactly how the CUPS system was put into the broken state, fixing it can be a bit tricky. Another posting suggested replacing the broken pstoraster with the Apple supplied equivalent of pstocupsraster. That might work, but it would be better to simply remove the conflicting filter specification, which on my system is this bit in /usr/share/cups/mime/mime.convs:
# pstoraster is part of GPL Ghostscript...
application/vnd.cups-postscript application/vnd.cups-raster 100 pstoraster
Removing that will restore the Apple specified filter chain for postscript input. With the filter specification gone, you are free to remove the pstoraster filter itself.
On wating for Adobe to fix this...
Acrobat provides enough things to scream about without pinning non-Acrobat problems on it as well. Not only is this problem not the fault of Acrobat, but suggesting that Acrobat should reach into a CUPS system broken by some unknown third party and fix it is only going to complicate the situation by having two third party products trying to un-do each other's configuration of a system resource. Do you really trust Adobe to fiddle with system components it doesn't own? No, I didn't think so. Adobe installers and updaters have enough trouble with the stuff they do own.
So, why does this problem only seem to affect Acrobat (your point #3)? I suspect it is simply that Acrobat is in the minority of submitting Postscript to the print queue. Any print job produced via CoreGraphics APIs is going to enter the system via a different path (namely, PDF), but the Postscript method is completely legitimate and any application that submits Postscript will be affected in the same way as Acrobat.
I hope this sheds some useful light on what is really going on with this problem.

Error message when downloading from Google Play Store

After recently doing the toshiba system update for my AT300-32gb tablet I now get the following error message when downloading free apps from Google Play Store -Error processing purchase {DF-BPA-13].
Automatic update for downloaded apps no longer works either. Anyone have a solution to this?

Go into your settings and touch "apps" on the left. Then touch "Google Play services" and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache." Then touch "Apps" again on the left. Now do the same for the "Google Play Store" entry. Then hold down the power button until it asks if you want to turn it off. Go ahead and turn off the tablet. Then turn it back on and try again.

Lost photos,when transfer from a PC to Seagate External Hard Drive n then to Mac

Lost many photos,I have a lots of photos since I carry a camera constantly ,when transfer from a PC that crash to 5T Seagate External Hard Drive I thought I was saved(in a way) I use Time Machine to save most of my work n transfer then to IMac just the first time worked I saw the photos but when I did try to use it again, I can't see them, most are encrypted n many are lost without even touch the key to delete them from my library notice that while Organizing ,any ideas how to recover them from the Library o recovered from encrypted from Iphoto version 8.1.2 ?

You can use File Sharing in iTune to copy files over.

HP OfficeJet J4680 All-in-One getting Copy error message when copying from front panel.

I get this message when I try to copy from the front panel: Incorrect paper size. Load different media or change copy paper size settings. It does not matter what I am trying to copy. I have checked the paper size and media and they are set on what I want -- Letter size and plain paper. It started after I cleared a paper jam from the back of the copier. Hope someone can help me. I am also having the exact same problem. I tried resetting it back to default settings (power on, unplug power cord, hold the # and 3 buttons while plugging back up). However, this has not helped. So far the only solution I saw is to upgrade to another printer, but copying seems to be such a simple function for this problem to be so hard so solve. Unfortunately, I've seen no other answers, so upgrading may be my only option even though I have no other problems :-(
