Lost Services

I have recently upgraded to OS 10.6. Am also running Safari 4.0.3. Previously if there was a recipe on a webpage I could highlight the recipe itself, then go onto "Services" and there was an option to do many things including transferring that recipe into the programme MacGourmet. All of these options now seem to have gone.
Has anyone any ideas?

Dear Kirk,
I have done that. However when I go down the safari tab to Services it shows only two items - "No Services" and "Services Preferences"
Might you have any idea?
Many thanks,

Your phone has a problem. Take it to an Apple store (make appt) and have them assess it. If they can't make it right they will replace it or you can return it. What you describe is not normal.

  • I've gotten a SIM card failure message and lost service 4 times in the past half a day

I've gotten a 'SIM card failure' message and lost service 4 times in the past half a day. Turning the phone off and on fixes it temporarily. Any similar problems? What did you do?

this is definitely not the experience we want you to have with your phone wme1221. I recommend a SIM card pull. What type of phone do you have? Is the phone damaged?

  • Lost service now have to take a day off

I was actually able to get thru the phone tree to an agent relatively quickly.  But the problem apparently is with the optical box installed on the outside of my house.  So the only way to get a service repair technician out to my house to check  is for me to take a day off, wait for someone to show up, just to be there so I can verify that it was corrected.    The problem I have with this, is that I lost service when they installed service for one of my neighbors.  Don't know if they are connected but since I have only had the service for 9 months I doubt that it is faulty equipment.     A couple of days ago someone from Verizon had some kind of meter connected to the box outside of my townhouse.  He said he was making sure I didn't lose service when my neighbors service was installed.    Why do I have to be there for them to check the box?  If it needs to be replaced,  that can be done without me,  the technology is there for the to check to see if service is being sent to my house ( they could check it last night without anyone coming out to my home,  as a matter of fact it was diagnosed using their computer system)    If it is I can use the in home agent to finish resetting it once I get home from work.    Anyone had any luck in getting around the "you have to be home to get someone to come out and check Verizon's equipment, and recent work?

Just a follow up,  I took half a vacation day to be here for the Verizon technician.  He looked at the box outside and said, Yes the contraction cut the line to your service.  Here is where he left a new one, but since he can't open the box to my house he couldn't reconnect it.  It took ten minutes for the technician to run a new wire.  Since the modem was turned off that had to be turned on, other than that no reason for me to be here, except to verify that the work was completed.
So, thanks to Verizon's inability to hire compentent contractors, their customer service that really isn't for the customers, My employer lost my time for the day, and I lost a vacation day.
Since I am encouraged to use the online agent for every thing the fact that they insisted I be home is just another example of poor customer service.
Do you think they will really credit me for two days that I didn't have service?

  • Located in Carrabelle,Florida...Lost Service

I was hoping a rep will see this. I am in Carrabelle,FL and first noticed that my wife lost service on her Kyocera kx16 and I tried to switch her back to Motorola Hint QA30 and it is dead also. Now I found that mine is dead also, it is Motorola Hint also. Anyone know what is happening?
    Thanks
    Danny

Let me add also, if your area is being going through the Alltel conversion, with an Alltel PRL, (which you have)  Alltel towers will be switched to Verizon. At some point when the conversion is complete, you will have access to both Alltel and Verizon towers. Right now, Alltel towers are number one on your PRL list, then Verizon.
Now in most cases, when the towers are converted, most subscribers still have service, albiet maybe not as strong signal as before. And if no signal your phone should connect with a Verizon tower.
Just offering as a possibility. Not as an excuse. In any case you should have some sort of signal.
Just thought of something, I don't know where to look on your phone, but could your phone be set to work in the, 'Home' area only? (Basically Alltel only service area) If so, with that tower down, that could be why you are not hitting a Verizon tower that may be close by. The Verizon towers would be considered a 'non home' or roaming tower, although you would not be charged for roaming.
You may want to look into that. If I get a chance I will see if I can find where the setting is on at least one of the phones and let you know.
Let's hope it get's fixed. Smarttalks coverage area ends a few miles in from the Gulf of Mexico.

  • My Curve 9300 lost service need help ASAP

I lost all serivce on my blackberry curve 9300 and the only way I get service is if I go outside my house. Sometimes I get service in my house but it's for 5 seconds and then I get "searching for network" then it goes to "SOS" I need help ASAP.

My carrier won't do anything about it because I'm not an authorized user of the account which is stupid. I wasn't having a problem with service for about a year and yesterday my service just cuts out for no apparent reason.
Hello...well, that's a bit disconcerting...aiding and abetting what could be an unethical use of service...but I'm hopeful that there are further details that mitigate that suspicion. In any event, review this KB for perhaps helpful information:
KB03448 Network status indicator shows "SOS" on the BlackBerry smartphone
It is possible that they have a tower out, and you now are receiving service from a more distant tower, which does not have adequate signal strength to work through the walls of your house. But, sadly, there is no way for you to actually find out if such is the case or not.
    Good luck!

  • Lost service on iPhone.

My phone fell on the floor and now I have to service. My Bluetooth and wifi are working but no bars just says searching. I have had thus problem before but do not remember what the Apple tech told me to do.... Any advise? I have done a reset of network, reset of settings and a hard reset.

If you've already lost the phone you can't. You need to turn it on while you have the phone.

  • Lost services as of the 13th

So my telephone line and BT infinity went out on the 13th.  Called roughly 35 times now, got thru the poorly made call services 4 times only to talk to people that really could not help.
But from what I have gotten using the fault tracker is the phone line has a fault somewere near my house, and the BroadBand is showing its messing up at their retal store...
All my neigbhors that have bt in my local area have there services still.  Seems I am the only one with a loss of services.  Last time I got in touch today with a help desk member told me that BT enigneers do not work Weekends and it will not be until the 18th they can send a tech out to my area to find the problem...
Are you kidding me?  I just moved here to England as visiting forces, I have never had soo many problems with a single isp company as I have had with BT in the 2 months I have had them.
Any way before I start raging about that.  Is there anything I can do to speed this process up?  I know alot of other members of BT have issues and are waiting, but I have some military related work I need to have in by monday...

    Hi Benjamin,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.  I am sorry to hear of the problems you are having with your services.
I am afraid that there is will not be much done over the weekend.  When a fault develops on your phone line our supplier will set a 3 working day repair time, this could be sooner or could take longer to fix depending on the nature of the fault.  I am sorry about this as I appreciate you have things that need done over this weekend.  You could possibly avail of a workaround until we get your service up and running.
Please take a look at this link, How to use BT Wi-fi as back-up when your main connection fails
If you can get connected to BT Wi-Fi then at least you will have a working connection, it wont be as fast as your Infinity connection but at least you will be online.  I hope this info help while we work on getting your services fixed.
    Cheers

  • Multiple ICWC sessions resulting in lost service ticket data

    Hi All
I have an issue where an IC Agent is encouraged to work with multiple ICWC sessions to compare and copy/paste data from service tickets.  We have seen on multiple occasions tha the data in ticket A is overwritten (with ticket B data) when ticket B is saved.
Has anyone come across this before?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
I suppose as per SAP multiple sessions are not supported if Communication Management Service is used.
Please look at the last posting on the following thread.
Can we have multiple IE in the same machine to access IC Webclient ?
Therefore, in this case solution suggested by Glenn could be useful to you.

  • E61 - lost service (T-Mobile)

Earlier this evening I was surfing the net and phone worked well. 5 mins later - nothing - I couldn't make calls or surf the net. T-Mobile customer services are now closed. Is there anything that I could have done while I was surfing the net that would have resulted in me now having no signal?
My husband also has an E61 with T-Mobile and his is working fine, so I presume there are no signal problems with T-Mobile.

It's either T-Mobile or the phone itself that caused the problem. If you dare you can try updating the SW using the SW Update sevice. Note that you might lose all your personal data!!! -> Backup your personal information first! Or just contact the T-Mobile customer service for more help. -S-

  • Since updating firmware to 4.3.2 my phone has repeatedly lost service.

When it says No Service there doesn't seem to be anyway to get it to re-connect so I reboot or reset. The result is the same, it goes to the restore sceen. After restore it works great but is totally unreliable since I don't know how long it will work for. Anyone have a solution? Does Apple ever respond to these issues?

When you restored did you restore from a backup or from a fresh install?
Sometimes when you restore from a backup you will get corrupt files that will continue to show up as long as you are restoring from that back up.

  • My phone completely lost service and Apple sent me a knew one. Hours before my new one arrived, my old phone receives service. Now i have my old phone with service and no information on it and a new one with my backed up information. What do I do?

Does anyone know what I should do next?

You can restore the older one with the backup from the newer phone if both phones are running the same iOS version.

  • Both cables boxes lost signal;displaying dashes;no service

My cable service was fine this afternoon. I came back home at night and turned tv on. The channels weren't working, so I followed the steps and then got instructions to reboot. Once that happened the screen is now stuck on the Verizon screen where it says there's seems to be an issue getting a signal...blah ah. I've unplugged everything, rebooted and no signal. I have no tv, cable or phone. Verizon said either it's the battery back up or a cut fiber cable outside. Thoughts? I live in a coop FYI. Are those cables secured I a box?

The fiber runs to an ONT. You need to find the ONT and check it's status lights.  There is a light that indicates if the fiber has signal.  No signal, no service.  Verizon will need to fix that.  Verizon should also be able to tell remotely if they can talk to your ONT.
The ONT is the box that converts the light signal on the fiber into electrical signals for phone, TV and internet.  It has power, fiber, copper (for phone) and coax (for TV and internet) attached to it.  Some setups may have Ethernet.  Most ONTs have a door that can be opened by the user to reveal the connections and status lights.
If you live in a single family home, the ONT is located either on the side of the building or inside in a utility area.  It is typically located where the utilities enter your building.
If you live in an apartment building, you may have an ONT in your unit.  Follow your coax until you see where it goes.  You may also have a "multi dwelling unit" ONT (MDU) that serves more than one apartment.  Depending on the physical arrangement of your building, a MDU may serve a group of units, a floor, floors or even the entire building.  MDUs are typically located in a common utility room or on the outside of the building near where all the phone and coax lines from the units converge.  They have similar wires attached to them as the single user ONTs, just lots more of them. They are typically not that user accessible.
If you're served by an MDU and the fiber isn't working, your neighbors will have lost service as well.
ONTs need power to operate.  They have a battery unit that supplies backup power.  If the ONT isn't getting power the battery will only last up to 8 hours (phone only).  That could also be the problem.  When you find the ONT, check that it has power (no lights at all, no power).
    Good Luck.
