Lost touch "scroll" after windows updates installed
after todays cumulative update for windows 10 was installed, i lost touch scroll/swipe functions. listed in Windows update along with the cumulative patch was an item named "eGalaxtouch - other hardware-usb controller a802).seeing as there is no way to deselect it, it was installed with the cumullative patch. however right after the install, touch scorlling and swiping are non functional. anyone else run into this? any workaround/fixes for this issue?? i did a system restore to just before the update, which gave me back full functions. But windows is again automatically downloading and installing both updates again! there is no way to choose which updates to install, nor opt out of.does HP have an updated driver for touch??? when the windowsupdate installs that "egalaxytouch" update, the touchscreen is useless. and with auto updating, it's a literal install/uninstall loop. i'm starting to regret upgrading to windows10. and with that said, has anyone tried the "roll back to prior version" option in recovery? it's valid for only 30days. i am thinking of going back but am wondering if anyone was successful running that recovery before i try it myself.
No fix as far as i'm aware. my last post is just a workaround until the driver issue is sorted out. It's not so much that you need a driver for this to work. You have to roll back the offending driver so that we can use the last good driver. And yes, i bbelieve that W10 will install updates as it pleases unless you have W10 Pro. W10 Pro can at least defer updates. I'm hoping that a fixed update comes soon so i don't have to defer them for too long. I miss the old 'Hide update' option from before. But as i said, this is just a workaround so you can get your updates then roll back the driver. We have an Intranet site that was set up in SharePoint 3.0. Over the weekend windows updates were installed, specifically KB2687442. Now my Intranet site does not work. When I try and run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard it
fails at step 9 with the following error : Failed to upgrade SharePoint Products and Technologies An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Cannot start service SPAdmin on computer '.'. When I try and

I've had a few customers run into this issue as well after running Windows Update. Reboot the server (admin service should start), and then try the following command:

No sound from laptop speakers after Windows update installed Realtek HD Audio
Laptop is HP6626US with Windows Vista 32 bit SP2.
I had an error with Windows Update which was recently fixed. When I ran the update Realtek HD Audio was installed, among many other items. I now have the red circle white X by my speaker icon and do not get any sound out of internal speakers.
The Driver version is 6.0.1.6662
Direct X version 11.0
Audio Codec ALC 268
In Device Manager Under Sound, video and game controllers Realtek HD Audio is listed with Unimodem Half Duplex Audio Device if that is helpful.

I see that you're having an issue with the sound on your notebook. Typically this means the Drivers don't exist and can also be considered as a hardware issue.
I have a couple of questions for you before we get going.
This is your notebook (HP Pavilion dv6626us Entertainment) correct?
Did this issue occur after you updated the audio drivers?
Now, you can go ahead and try these steps to resolve the issue.
Please completely remove the drivers for the Audio Device in Device Manager and “Control Panel – Programs and Features”.
Reboot the computer.
Please check if the device will be installed automatically after the computer starts. If not, please go to Device Manager and then navigate to the Audio Device, right click on it and choose “Update Driver software”
If the issue persists, please try to manually install the device driver which comes with the computer to see if it works. (You can also go to HP website to install the drivers. If you cannot find it, please give me the detail information of the device or the computer, such as brand, model, etc., I will help you search for the proper driver.)

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore. -
Dell Latitude E6520 fails to boot after Windows Updates

I have a Dell Latitude E6520 that is not starting up after Windows updates. It installs updates and requests a reboot, after which it blue screens at the splash logo and reboots again. This goes on indefinitely. The only way to repair it is to boot from
a recovery disk and run:
dism /image:D:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This is after running dism /image:D:\ /get-packages and noticing that several updates are still in an "Install_Pending" state. These are the kb's that are pending:

I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.

Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

Firefox won't start after windows update
After windows Updated my computer Firefox won't start. I tried a clean reinstall two times, won't work. When I tried to start the firefox the first time after booting my computer it comes with the following message.

I do not see much about coloum 14, but I am guessing this file is stored somewhere and its corrupt. Update.xul suggests that it is the update file. Do you still have this in your downloads folder? There are two places for update and for a clean reinstall:
[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/] in a private window will give you a new install or you can choose from here: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/]
This is what the file should look like; [http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/log/7a2edc5171e6/toolkit/mozapps/extensions/content/update.xul] If you can copy and paste that file from a working browser we can see the issue, but it will just look the same as the error.
if you can replace the contents of the file locally with what it should look like it will fix the error, but who knows if there are other errors. May be best to delete the updater and save all the profile folder contents. -
Blue screen: HP Pavilion dv6 after Windows update on Aug 1.
Last year or so, I had this blue screen issue with my dv6 laptop and was solved by uninstalling KB2670838.And things have been very peaceful since then, but the blue screen re-occured recently after windows update last week.The updates were suggested by HP Support agent installed in and was for getting ready for Windows 10 installation.But my pc gets blue in every 3 min now, so I un-installed all updated job occured last week as temporal solution. Some forum looks like they were loaded in an extreme basic mode, another forum main page looks fine but sub forums are loaded in in the same basic looking mode, another forum only displayed 1 user avatar out of hundreds.
Chat/IRC clients wont load.
Everything works when I used IE.
I tried to follow the help thingies but was led to a dead link.

Anybody have any ideas?If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

No offence, but as with quite a few others, my Iphone stopped charging on mains after iOS 7.0.4 update too.
Not sure you can categorically advise that "it simply is not a software issue" when so many different people are having the same symptoms after updating their iOS Just have a quick Google!
Luckily my (original Apple) cable will still allow recharging via USB to a laptop. So, process of elimination would point to a bricked charger that was working faultlessly up until the iOS 7.0.4 update was applied. Seems quite a stretch to be a coincidence.
Look forward to an explanation ..... and an update? ......

How can one edit a profile name in ACR?
Both Adobe DNG Profile Utility and the PassPort profile software very nicely create and install profiles in ACR. A profile name is given at the time of creation. Once installed in ACR, however, how can one edit the name of the profile? thanks, gramp
