LOV Auto Validation Issue

Hi,
I have a LOV on Item Field, and the table has the Items ex: 8091,8091S.
User Enters the 8091 the LOV Window is automatically validating and finding the two results and poping up the window with results 8091 and 8091S.
actually what ever user entered is a correct value.how can i solve this issue , if there is a correct matching value in table it shouldn't open up the LOV window.
Thanks,
Indira

One Suggestion,
Make all the Lov mappins as 'Use for Validation' false. This shall make sure that the Lov does not fire when you enter a partial value. However the side effect would be that the Lov would loose its autocomplete validation features.
So you need to decide. If you make sure that the user shall always enter the correct value in the field (no validation done by Lov) the problem would be resolved. If the user selects from the list then also there is no issue. If you are willing to do some additional coding, I suggest you write your own validation method to validate the value entered by the user.
Hope the text helps.
Thanks
Sumit

  • LOV Auto Validation

    JDeveloper Version - 11.1.1.4.0
Do we have an LOV Auto Validation feature similar to Oracle forms in ADF

Say I have an PetName field. And in my DB I have row values Cat, Dog, Parrot, Birds etc. So if I start typing 'C' in the PetName field, before I complete typing, 'Cat' should be populated in the field. I am not looking for an auto suggest behaviour where the values get listed down below the field. Instead the value should be populated in the field. This feature is there in Oracle forms as told to me by my colleague, and the same has to be implemented in ADF.

  • LOV Auto Refresh Issue - OAF Page

    Hi,
Currently we are facing one issue with one OAF page.
We have one LOV in the page. Currently it is fetching the details as per the VO SELECT query associated with it and no issues in the query part.
But, if you try to update the tables which are associated to the above VO query, the updated results are not showing in the LOV even after re-login also.
One interesing thing is, we are able to get the updated results in the LOV once the server is bounced. Can any one pls let me know how to get this resolved and we are expecting this updated results needs to picked by LOV without bouncing the server.

    Hi Ankul,
We have already tried the approach which you have suggested. But still that did not worked.

    Hi all,
This problem was also noticed by Phil McDermott (Problem in using LOV for validation-JHS 10.1.3
I am following the demo and I noticed that the Use LOV for Validation functionality does not work on the browse page. However, it does work on the details page!
Another effect of this problem is that once you tried to validate on the browse screen, the lov button does not work anymore.
    Thanks, Joep
Just found out that is does not work when entering "ph" like suggested in the tutorial. When I enter "p" and then tab to the next field, the lov popup does show.

    Your solution works for me.

  • Translation for OVS and auto-validation texts doesn't working.

    Hello SDN!
    There're two issues with translation.
First issue arised in OVS screen. I always get english text (I mean "Advanced search" and text for buttons) although my Webdynpro DC was created with russian language. Also only russian language set in browser. As I know it's impossible to change standart text in OVS but it could be displayed in other language.
Second issue arised in auto-validation. We have a node element which type came from dictionary of imported ARFC model. For example this type is a date. So when user entered invalid date (i.e. 30.02.2010), auto-validation processed and show error message that entered date has unappropriate format. Auto-validation is a great tool but error message displayed in english. But my requirements are that such messages of auto-validation must be displayed in russian language... Is it possible?
We're working with SAP Web AS 7.0 SP 17

    Hello there, Josiahfromvt.
Great job so far with troubleshooting the auto-brightness on your iPhone. After making sure you have backed up your device, you may want to use the following Knowledge Base article to setup the phone as new to test one last time:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Once it is restored as new, you can review the steps found here:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Display doesn't adjust brightness automatically
The ambient light sensor brightens the display when using the iPhone in brightly lit environments, and dims the display in low light. To test this sensor, do the following:
If the iPhone is in a protective case, remove it from the case. If there is a protective film on the display, remove the film.
Verify that the Auto-Brightness setting (Settings > Brightness and Wallpaper) is set to ON, and that the Brightness level is set near the middle of the slider.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen and then press the Sleep/Wake button to lock the iPhone.
In a bright environment, cover the top third of the iPhone to block the light, then press the Sleep/Wake button or the Home button to wake the phone. Slide the slider to unlock the phone.
Notice the brightness of the screen and application icons; they should be somewhat dimmed.
Remove the cover from the top of the display and in a few moments the display should get brighter.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.
If you need to restore your device with your previous settings, the following article reviews how to restore from both iCloud or iTunes:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • Using LOV with Validation on the Numeric Fields results in Error

    Dear JHeadstart Team,
During my work with lov I encountered another problem. I defined a lov and attached the lov to a numeric field and check the LOV for validation. Now when I use LOV using the LOV button it works fine but when I enter some numbers and then press tab the LOV was not shown correctly and resulted in the following errors and the worst thing is that you can not navigate to any other pages and all try to navigate to other pages results in errors too. When we put the same LOV on a string field (which is not desirable for us) it worked fine.
It seems to me like a bug. Am I right? Is ther any solution or workaround for this problem?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Navid,
We ran into the same bug and have the next workaround for it:
We extended the JHeadstart class 'LovItemBean' and we have overridden the method 'validateWithLov(...)' with:
      public void validateWithLov(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
        Object newValue = valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
        if(newValue != null && !(newValue instanceof String))
          newValue = newValue.toString();
          ValueChangeEvent newEvent = new ValueChangeEvent(valueChangeEvent.getComponent(), valueChangeEvent.getOldValue(), newValue);
          newEvent.setPhaseId(valueChangeEvent.getPhaseId());
          super.validateWithLov(newEvent);
        else
          super.validateWithLov(valueChangeEvent);
}Next step is to use a custom template in your JHeaedstart Application Structure file for 'LOV_ITEM_BEAN'. In this custom template you should use your own class as 'managed-bean-class' instead of the default JHeadstart one.
Now you can safely generate LOV with validation of number fields.
Maybe something the JHeadstart can pcik up in the next release of JHeadstart :-)
    Hope this helps.

  • Auto Goods Issue not taking place

    Hii All
I hv Maintained backflush indictor in work center and in MRP2 view it is maintained as Workcenter
    decides whether to backfluch .
But the auto goods issue is not taking place when the production order is saved and confirmed.
The stock remains the same ..
Can anybody tell the reason for that
    Regds
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
what is the control key u have maintained in Routing?
if u r using Control key PP01 - Routing/Ref. op. set - internal proc., then after Production Order confirmation u have to do MB31- Goods Receipt for Order, with movement type 101.
If u r using PP03 Routing - in-house prod. auto. goods rct, then it accepts only single operation in a Routing (or) if u r having say more than one operations in a routing, then u have to give PP03 control key for the last operation.
    I think u got it...
revert back if u have doubts.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Using Tabs in Generated Pages - Validation Issue

    Hi,
We're using JHS 10.1.3.0.97 and are using the "stacked" regions functionality
to make the form less cluttered.
The problem we're having now is that whenever a user wants to
view the items on a tab (that is not currently the selected one),
a validation issue is thrown saying that all the mandatory fields need to be entered first.
Is there a way to avoid this message and postpone the validation until the
user clicks on the "Save" button?
    Regards,
    Cliff

    Cliff,
I am sorry, in the 10.1.3.1 release we switch off server-side model validation on a partial page request.
It is not possible to switch off the client-side validation, because the only way to do this, is by setting immediate=true on the tabs. However, with this setting JSF will skip the Model Update phase, which means that any changes you made to the tab region you are going to leave by clicking another tab, would be lost.
The only alternative is by creatign a custom templates and generating the required items with showRequired="true" instead of required="true" which means required items are never checked client-side.

  • Should I spend the $280.00 to have Canon fix my 70D auto-focusing issue?

Should I spend the $280.00 to have Canon fix my 70D auto-focusing issue? Or just return back to my very much trusted Rebels?

Very much appreciate your taking time to send a response. As a new user I wasn't sure if anyone would bother. Allow me to add a little more to my first post. I fit in that niche between amateur and a person with clients. For over 10 years I have covered events for a non-profit agency capturing the look and feel of 20+ events per year and was given permission to purchase a few cameras over the year. My decision from the beginning was to use the Canon Rebel. Images were spot on and only once did I have an issue with one of them (after shooting outside events in 105 degree temps for 3 days).
So, when I retired a year ago it was for me a pretty simple choice to get a Canon for myself - especially since at that time the 70D was on the cover of magazines and was very highly touted. I also did a lot of desktop publishing and photo editing which helped me realize I wanted the best sensor, sharpness, resolution and lens I could afford - the 70D. My post was actually a result of reading many online responses including your very informative replies about the 70D focusing issues. My biggest concern is that I will spend several hundred dollars and maybe, just maybe get back a camera which captures better focused images, but still not as sharp as the lower end Rebels I was using. I had hoped to purchase my first "L" lens and really get excited - not repair the most expensive camera I've bought to date.
Thanks again and before it gets noted by someone...yes, I should have pushed this issue sooner and then at least the warranty would have covered the cost. An expensivve lesson learned. But I will have to add that at least one authorized Canon repair dealer told me they have had several folks feel like I did - that it was the photographer/me as a new user having the issue and not the camera. I now know it's my camera.
Let me clarify that I don't own a 70D, so anything I say about it is from watching what others have said, mainly in this forum. But it is disconcerting to see so much complaint about a camera that's supposed to have an innovative focusing system. One is strongly tempted to suspect that they went overboard in trying to make the camera serve both still  photographers and videographers.
That said, I'm not a great fan of the Rebel line, because they lack autofocus microadjustment and I have at least one otherwise excellent Canon lens that would be useless without it. (The 70D does have AFMA, a point in its favor.)
As far as spending the $280 for the repair, I understand why it's a hard call. If I were in your shoes and were convinced that Canon understands the issue and would fix it correctly and permanently, I guess I'd go for it. If you don't think they do, but fell that you need something a cut above the Rebels, this may be a good time to buy a leftover or refurbished 7D. Even though I now have a 5D3, I still use my 7D's a fair amount and have been very happy with them. And the 7D2 has gotten such a favorable reception that's it's almost bound to make more 7D's available at a decent price.

  • Whether it is possible to make auto goods issue below safety stock level

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I am implementing MRP for generating stock transfer Planned orders from a Main Mother Plant to different Plants. We have defined a Safety stock level for materials at main Plant level.
There is a auto program available for generating auto goods issue against Purchase orders.
System picks up Qty as long as unrestricted stock exists for the material during auto goods issue.
System dont pick up any Qty below safety stock level (manual goods issue works below safety stock level).
We are defining safety stock to meet sudden requirements and have time for new procurement.
But it should allow us to do auto goods issue below safety stock level.
Whether this is possible and what need to be done ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    R.Velmurugan.

    Hi Velmurugan,
I don't think auto GR is a problem from safety stock. Auto Gr can be done by two ways.
    1. Control key and assigning the control key in operation(Preferably in last operation)
    2. In production scheduling profile you can do it. You have to assign the production scheduling profile in material master work scheduling view.
    Regards,
    Krishnendu.

  • Auto-Brightness Issue. It randomly worked, then stop working all together.

    Auto-Brightness Issue.
It randomly worked before, now it's not giving off any brightness at all. Unfortunately it stopped coming on all together. I tried updating it Itunes and it comes back on but tried to restore my Ipod touch. After restoring it, it said "restore error -50" and the backlight STILL doesn't come on, not even a flicker. PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay I tried to restore using iTunes and a little screen came up stating: An error occured while restoring this iPod (-50). I don't know what that means. It still ask do I want to continue to restore, but always gives me that same message. To make matters even worse, there is no Apple store in my town. The nearest is 3 hours away.

  • LOV validation issue: "Select a valid value"

    Hi,
I have a lov problem in oaf: "Select a valid value".
It is a common problem, but somehow I cannot figure it out.
    LOV
    - LovApplicationId (of type "formValue")
    - LovApplicationShortName (of type "messageStyledText")
    - LovApplicationName (of type "messageStyledText")
(based on combination of fnd_application and fnd_application_tl)
    BASE PAGE
    Two relevant items.
First one is "ApplicationId" of type "formValue" connected to view attribute "ApplicationId". (connected to EO attribute in VO)
Second one is "ApplicationName" of type "MessageLovInput" connected to view attribute "ApplicationName" (calculated in VO)
    Two lovMappings.
    First mapping:
    LOV Region Item = LovApplicationName
    Return Item = ApplicationName
    Criteria Item = ApplicationName
    Use for validation = no
    Second mapping:
    LOV Region Item = LovApplicationId
    Return Item = ApplicationId
    Criteria Item = <null>
    Use for validation = yes
    For example.
If I select "Inventory" in the LOV and click on the apply button in the base page, I am getting the error "Select a valid value".
If I select "Inventory Optimization" in the LOV and click on the apply button in base page, no error. And when I look in database the record is saved in my custom table with the correct application_id.
I have read many forum threads on this issue, but I cannot figure it out, what is wrong.
    Please help me out.
    Kind regards,
    Cor

    Hi Haroon,
    This doesn't solve the problem.
It is true the exception I am getting doesn't show up anymore.
But the application_id isn't saved to the database.
First thing I would expect in this case, that the mappings are not set properly.
But if I choose for the value "Inventory Optimization", the application_id is saved to the database.
If I choose for the value "Inventory" the application_id is not saved to the database.
So it is possible the get rid of the error in the screen, but the underlying problem is still there...
I have checked some core pages, similar to the one I have.
So an UPDATE page (rectification: instead of CREATE).
I have set all attributes the same, but the problem still occurs in my case.
    Very strange.
I would make no difference running the page from jdeveloper or put the files on the application server and run it from Oracle, would it?
    It makes no sense. But...
    Kind regards,
    Cor
