LoV in Notification

I want to create a Region that will appear as a Notification in Workflow. The problem is that I want to have one of the items updateable using an LoV. Is this possible?

As far as I remember, only actionable items on the notifications can be the standard WF action buttons as per WF standard.

Another minor bug - calculator widget in notification center

Love the notification center and the addition of new widgets. I'm trying to phase out dash board in that way.
The only problem is the calculator widget appears, but none of the buttons works -- it's completely unusable. I've tried removing and reinstalling it, same result. Any ideas? Thanks.

No it wasn't, but I have to add that I just forced quit notification center from the activity monitor and the calculator started working again once notification center relaunched. In other words, problem solved for now. I'm a little worried this will be one like the other small problems I've had that goes in and out, but for now I'm ok. Thanks!

Does Mail need to be open for emails to appear in Notifications?

I love the notifications feature in Mavericks, and in particular, I like that incoming emails pop up like in iOS. My question is, does Mail app need to be open for emails to appear in Notifications?

On the Mac, Mail needs to be open to be notified of incoming Mail. I tend to leave the app open all the time, just collapsed into the Dock, getting notified by Notification Centre as emails arrive and leaving a red badge on the Mail icon in the Dock if Mail arrived whilst I was away.

Apple Mail and Exchange Out of Office Not Working

Has anyone had issues with Yosemite Mail and setting Out of Office for Exchange 2010?
I can set Mail to send Out of Office replies but cannot change the scheduled dates from 2/12/1982, 10:00 AM. Even when I do set it, it does not seem to send the OOO notifications. I can set it just fine on my iPhone 6 and Mavericks Mail worked fine for setting the OOO.
I deleted my account several times and reset it and I can get all my Mail back just fine but OOO still doesn't work correctly. I wanted to try to change the server settings but Mail doesn't allow you to do that for auto connect Exchange accounts.
Because of this (and my concern with reported issues with updating meetings), I switched back to Outlook 2011 until these bugs get ironed out. This is too bad because I love the notifications feature for Apple's programs.
I'm running on a 2014 13" MacBook Pro.

Win 8.1 update - sound popping / glitch in MetroTube and all APPS when scrubbing video

My phone Nokia 1020 was working fine. I then downloaded the over the air update for Win 8.1 and Cyan on Thursday 7th August from O2.
Since then I have experienced a loud popping / static noise when playing video in all apps (except StoryTeller)
Using built-in speaker:
When I play video in any App with a video scrubber and I scrub the time-line and realise the scrubber it makes a loud click or static pop.
It happens in everything including:
Mytube
Metrotube
Tubepro
Photos App (i.e Microsoft one - playing a recorded video in they all now have a loud click / static pop)
Xbox Video App (i.e Microsoft's own App)
Using Headphones:
There is no load click (It plays how it used to)
The odd bit is using the speaker and playing music tracks (mp3s etc) and scrubbing there is no static popping click it plays fine.
Video In Web Browser Fine:
Playing YouTube Videos in the web brower there is no popping / static click noise.
I have just downloaded 'xVideo' App and played a HD Music video in it and used scrubber and there is NO loud click.
Sound Glitches in Audio Clips at end of recordings in all these Apps:
Babbel - Learn Spanish
Coolang - Learn Spanish
Zeemish - Learn Spanish for Beginners
its really annoying and makes trying to listen and remember pronunciation of words difficult and frustrating. Phone was ok before Microsoft Windows 8.1 update now have this issue and issue with static build-up causing popping when fast forwarding through
videos. :( I am feed up
Conclusion:
This is software bug? please can anyone help/advise me on how to fix this and if anyone else is having same glitch with 8.1 update :(
All I can think of to fix is to somehow downgrade to Windows 8 if that's possible? :( *update its not possible using Nokia Recovery as it puts back Win 8.1.
It is a Software bug introduced in Windows Phone 8.1 update. It effects everything! including
Microsofts own Video Xbox App and

Microsoft need to fix this Video Popping urgently, I have tired to want to like Windowsphone but they keep going backwards and I am loosing faith.
If is not fixed soon i.e next few months I will never buy a Windows phone again and will recommend the same to friends and family. I had so much hope and expectation for 8.1 update :( love the Notification bar and battery icon but I can't live with

Z30 followup...

Well...it's been a week that I've been with my first BB...the Z30...and I have a few things to say...
Being with a Droid for the past two years...I took the plunge...with concern...to something I thought would be a more productive phone for me...and I was right!!
I have to say...I have not had in my hands an easier...faster..."just right" phone than what I have now in my Z30!!
Now not to say that a Droid cannot be configured to do what this BB does but not knowing what the BB does lead me to accept the Droid as is and not look any further...
I love the Notifications on the Lock Screen...the preview...the tap to take you there...it's all works flawlessly...quick and simple and saves so much time!!
The Hub is great as well...one place does it all...no opening multiple apps to accomplish a task...and that said...the ability to close an app...not just put it in the background to forget about it while its draining your battery LOL!!
All apps I had on my Droid I have on my Z30...having only to install a few through Snap...which does what it's suppose to do...
The whole idea of Protect is brilliant!!
Getting used to the keypad now
Everything about the OS is designed to get you to where you want to go quicker and help you do things quicker!! I love the way it multitasks!!
The sound is fantastic!! Better than any Droid I've heard...
The camera is sufficient for my needs...
The Browser I can live with...I'm used to Dolphin...
The Phone is great...conference calls...it's all good!!
Haven't had a chance to BBM yet...
So...all said...I'm very happy and satisfied with this phone one week in...as long as the hardware stands up...BB will have a new convert!!

It worked!

I updated my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 last nite and all is well. I even watched the entire process as it really didn't take that long, and the only reason I'm posting this is to give people confidence to do this after reading all the horror stories here.
I did make sure to backup everything, and iTunes warned me that I hadn't backed up my apps and did that for me. I also turned off all programs on my computer except iTunes and did it late at night when I thought less people would be on the server. Once the update was finished I turned off iCloud and shut down location features that weren't needed. Using the phone normally it's been about 24 hours since it was charged and I have 66% left.
I love the notification feature that lets me see all the features I look at first thing in the morning with one swipe of the screen, and moving the camera shutter button to the volume button was a great idea. Otherwise, I'm not overwealmed by the 200 new features. (I could have lived with the old OS for a very long time.)

Need ASAP: How to enable a respond message attribute LOV in WF 2.6.3 notifi

All,
I'm in the midst of a deadline and I do not know how to approach the problem. We have a custom Report review wf approval process and one of the requirements is to show the notification recipient with a List of Values - usernames (derived from a Grants application table which has the list of valid fnd users).
This is an embedded workflow within the Oracle Apps11i environment.
The current notifications show the LOV from WF_ROLES view and instead
I want the list to come from an adhoc role that I create in workflow.
I tried couple of options and they don't seem to work:
1. Created an adhoc role and assigned users to that adhoc role. Then created an item attribute of type 'Role' and after initiating the workflow set the attribute value to the 'Role Name'. On the notification I select this item attribute as the 'Performer' and also for the notification message I use this item attribute as a 'Respond attribute'.
When I send the notification, only the role name shows up but not the users of this role in the LOV. I need to see the users of this adhoc role in the LOV as values to select from when the notification is responded. This did not work for me as only the role name shows in the LOV and individual users of this role.
2 Option: Tried using the special message attribute #WF_REASSIGN_LOV
so that asa workaround I can use the reassign button instead of the Submit. Even this does not work.
3. Option: Modify the wf API wfa_html or wf_lov to
look at the adhoc role rather than the wf_roles view. But this is not supported and moreover will fail the other seeded and custom workflows here.
Can you please provide your valuable ideas and thought on how to
enable an LOV for a respond message attribute based on an adhoc role.
It must display all the users of the role and not the role.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The answer to your query is 'Yes'. You need to design a 'UPDATE' metadata type custom integrator. The custom integrator shall use a parameter based view to first download data and then use a PL/SQL wrapper/API to re-upload it back. The brief steps are listed below:
1. Create a 'UPDATE' metadata type custom integrator. Give a parameter list name, std/custom view for data download and a PL/SQL wrapper.
2. Create a form function and associate the form function with the custom integrator created.
3. Add the form function to the std WebADI menu for access.
4. Define a layout for the custom integrator defined.
4. To create a parameter use the standard integrator 'HR Standalone Query'. As a part of this integrator you can define the SQL WHERE clause (parameter based) that you will like to use with the custom/std view defined in the custom integrator definition.
Note: You can use a max of 5 parameters only. For each parameter, one needs to define the datatype and also the HR standalone query has a size limitation of 2000 chars in 11i10. You increase this length you may apply patch - 3494588 to get 4000 chars.

Sending Push Notifications with Adobe DPS

Question.
I'm testing out all the Adobe DPS and Apple options. And one of the things I would like to test is Push Notifications.
I followed the iPad publishing guide to be able to get all the certificates so that's ok. Then I was looking for a way to send
push notifications. Because Adobe DPS doesn't really have a UI environment (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong ;-) to send push
notifications I have to do it 'by hand'. When I tested my app on my iPad I got the "app name wants to send you push notifications",
so i'm sure my certificates are working. Now I just need to send a push message.
So I followed this great tutorial:

I was able to do everything and was able to send a push notification ... but I never received it. And the reason for this is because
I don't have the app device token, which is a 64 character serial number which acts as your app address. So I don't have any way of sending the notification
to my particular app. (which is a test sideload multifolio app).
Because the Adobe DPS is cloud based you don't get any code (which I love). But I think that is currently stopping me
from finding out my device token.
What I'm asking:
- Does this mean I can't send any push notifications to Adobe DPS created apps?
- If this is supported somehow, I suppose (again, correct me) I need the app device token for the created app. Where do I get this?

At this time, it's not possible to manually push notifications. When you enable push, only publishing a new folio displays the red badge. At some point, when third-party push is supported, manual pushes will be possible.

With iOS 6, the all day events showed up in the notification centre but it lacks in the upgrade iOS 7.

Same problem here. Some people pointed out that all-day events do show up in their notification center, but that seems only to be the case for birthdays (and only as text like the weather). I've tried it myself on my iPhone and iPad and it did work for birthdays but not for any other all-day events. I already sent this to Apple as a product feedback as well, as should everyone of you. The more people mention it, the faster Apple's going to fix this issue. In its current state, notification center is not a very helpful feature in my opinion. There's absolutely no point in not showing all-day events in the 'today' calendar overview.

Flash player will not work on my computer, would love advice

I have windows vista. When I visit a web page that requires flash, it instructs me to download it (even though I'm sure I have it ialready...). I do so, it says it has downloaded successfully but I still cannot view the website. I have uninstalled my current version of flash and reinstalled the latest version numerous times. It even shows up in my list of programs. But each time I visit a site that uses it, it tells me I need flash to view it. Very frustrating. And suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Turn off notifications sounds at night? (Z3)

Hi All
I am a new proud owner of a Z3, I love it!
Well apart from this....
I get woken up at night with Facebook notifications, emails and such buzzing and bleeping in the night.
I cannot turn my phone on silent as i'm on-call for my job and need my phone to ring in the night if someone calls.
I used to have a Samsung Glaxy S3 before this, it had a feature (i forget the name) and worked great. I wrongly presumed this was a blanket feature for Android phones...
After googling i've noticed some people favour 3rd party apps. But cmon Sony - surely i cant be the only one suffering?

Newsstand Subscribers and Push Notifications

We have a free publication on the newsstand which is getting good attention and downloads from users, we are facing two major challenges to keep the readership of the magazine as high as the downloads, those are :-
- Not knowing who subscribed, we have looked everywhere and even asked the support team and it seems there is no way for us to know who subscribed to the magzine (free in-app purchase), so we can contact/communicate with, which is creating a huge gap between us and the readers, we are pretty active on social networks, but with the fact that we have no clue who subscribed, this is very challenging, any recommendations on this issue ?
- Push Notification, unfortunetly being a pro member we cannot send a messege to the subscribers/app downloaders about new issues, we can only send a notification which will will show a red badge/ribbon, and this does not sem to be effective and is not helping in increasing the number of downloads per issue ! and this is actually not to Adobe's advantage because this will end up slowing folio downloads which adobe sells in bundles !
I would love to hear from the Adobe guys and other fellow members on how to tackle those challenges, and would also want to hear from Adobe if there is any option for Pro customers to send 'messege notifications to drive higher folio downloads.

Second: How is the message that Enterprise admin can send to subscribers? Can you send a screenshot?
