Low performance with SATA on 875P Mobo

I have a 160GB WD with 8MB buffer un SATA and a 80GB WD with 2MB buffer un Paralel ATA. In Sandra I get 25000 kb/s with the first one and 31000 kb/s with the second one.
Why do i get such a low score with the SATA hard drive? The SATA is conected to the Intel controller, not the Promise
(I removed all the CD-rom drives and the 80GB hard and left only the SATA hard but nothing changes. I get the same 25000 kb/s)

Sandra is still not a good hdd benchmark program. Lood through this thread and you should find some links:

  • MBP Retina low performance with external displays

    Hi everyone!
I have a very bad performance with my MBP 15´´ retina display when it comes to ad an external display. I have a FUL HD LG monitor that looks very bad when i connect the HDMI or the thunderbot port with the proper adapter (as bad as you can´t even read). I want to know if this may ba a hardware problem just with my computer or if it is a software problem, any ideas? does anyone have the same issue?
How can i update my NVIDIA card???
    Thanks a lot!

Topic seems to come up here often. Apple has a tendency to dismiss the issue.
Its a pretty well known problem that Mac font smoothing doesn't seem to work well on high resolution third party external displays, making text hard to read. In addition, I think the Mac HDMI resolution support is limited to 1080p, so you must use DP or DVI video interfaces to see full monitor resolution.
The OS default is no font smoothing on external displays (except perhaps the apple display). There is a terminal command that will enable font smoothing for any external monitor, but it often doesn't work well enough. I found that using the OS zoom feature magnifies text to the point to be easily readable. You can set zoom parameters in the accessibility systems preference panel.
For some reason, sometimes the Mac OS thinks some monitors are TVs and use YCbCr instead of RGB. You can open the color sync utility and brouse the settings to see what is being used. There are scripts available that can fix that but are more complicated to install than an app.
It seems that PCs are way ahead of Macs with external display implementation. Most folks having monitor problems with a Mac do not see the same issue with PCs or Unix/Linux OSs.
Oh as far as updating the video card, can't. The monitor  "drivers" are built into the OS. When a new display is connected, the OS finds the profile for it.

  • Low Performance with Oracle Client 11g R2

    Hi Experts
I installed Crystal Report Server 2008 on Windows Server 2003. We use Oracle Client 11R2 to create an ODBC to link with an Oracle Database which installed on another Redhat Linux Server.
I found the performance of generating report by Crystal is really bad, it's a really simple SQL query.
Before the Oracle, we used the SQL Server 2005 as the database, the time to open the same report only took 1-3 seconds, but on Oracle it took more than 20 seconds.
    Please help~~ thank you.

    Hi Don
Thank you for your reply, I built a report by myself, it's really fast, so I think it's not the problem of ODBC.
I double checked the 'Query SQL' of the old report, it only took 3 tables and generate a SQL like hereafter,
then I checked this SQL on "SQL Developer", it's working fine, very fast.
I don't know why Crystal Report Server take so long time to generate this report.

  • Low performance with new release?

Was forced to download the new Skype "app" as the stock one on my laptop no longer allows you to connect. This is the only recent change on my laptop and when connecting to video with the same person in their same locale and me in my same locale, the performance is absolute crap. You can't move or same more than 5 words without the performance dropping. I've gone so far as to shut off other devices in my house to increase bandwidth and the problem persists. Eliminating all other outside factors and having Skype as the only other change, I've concluded this "new" version is a fat turd. Sincerely,Jared Hazen

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
Can you share which computer / tablet model you are using?

if we use rsa3 to test the datasource,it also be so.
i have tried to run infopackage to extract data from this datasource
but still not work at all.

First, try applying the manual changes identified in [OSS Note 1277865 - EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (segment cannot be identified)|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1277865] in your source SAP Financial Services system to see if that will resolve your issue.
If applying these manual changes does not provide resolution to your issue, you will probably need to create an SAP Message in the SAP Support Portal to have an SAP support processor review the issue and provide a recommended resolution.

  • Select single to RSEG with very low performance

    Hello experts,
We have recently upgraded our sap basis from 701 to 740 and we are experiencing a very low performance with the following abap instruction:
select single * from rseg into lw_rseg where ebeln = lw_output-pedido and
                                                                ebelp = lw_output-item and
                                                                kschl = lw_output-kschl.
Could it be anything from the upgrade?
    Any suggestions?
If we change the "*" for only one field of the RSEG table, would the improvement in te performance be significant?
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Raquel Oliveira

    Hi, Raquel!
In SELECT statement you are not using the key fields for RSEG table.
Replacing "*" by a single field won't do the trick.
In our system we've got a table index on EBELN and EBELP fields in RSEG and it helps a lot.
In case you don't want to set additional indexes you can find all incoming invoices for the purchasing document items in EKBE table and then go to RSEG having BELNR, GJAHR and BUZEI fields.
If you already have table index on RSEG with EBELN & EBELP fields - you can trace SQL statement in ST05 and check whether it uses the index.
And apart from that - anything can be from upgrade

  • How to know if system is running in 40W low performance mode ?

I experienced the same problem than described in this topic: lower performance with charger than with battery!
(But I had set everything on Maximum Performance both in BIOS and in Windows's Power settings, so I think everything was done on software-side).
How to know if the system runs with lower performance (is it a 40W max mode? btw how did you know it is called "40W mode" ? I saw this figure nowhere else than in the mentioned-above topic) , except using a soft to do some benchmarking? Is there a place in BIOS (I didn't find!) ?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
if your computer is 64-bit, Leopard is running in the 64-bit mode. There are a few caveats about this but basically this is the case.

The same reports using Excel 2007 (Windows 7 or XP) run OK
    Anyone with the same issue?
    Thanks

Solved. It's a known issue. The solution, as provided by SAP Support is:
    Dear Customer,
This problem may relate to a known issue, which happens on EPM Add-in
with Excel 2010 when zoom is NOT 100%.
to verify this, could please please try to set the zoom to 100% for
your EPM report in question. and observe if refreshing performance is
    recovered?.
    Quite annoying, isn't it?

  • Very Low Performance And Stability gaps

Hello, first of all, sorry me because of my low level english.
I have recent bought new pieces for my sistem, my older CPU was a Duron 1300 (overclocked 1400) in a Gigabyte Ga-7zxr mobo with 512 SDRAM 133 mem.
I choosed a MSI mobo, the KT6 delta (sr), a 2600 XP+ and 512 DDR 333, with no knowed fabricant.
I get a lower performance in my new system than the older, isn't normal.
I have so much questions, please reply me so much you can, i'm getting crazy
I've read in other posts some specifications about Amp' consume in the mobo.
Where can i see it? Say me and i'll post it.
My 2600 xp+ is the model 8 (not the actual 10), it have 256 Kb cache instead 512 and run over 200 mhz over the model 10.  167 x 12.5.
(wrong forum?, could be, dont reply me to it if you think i should no make this question)
    Well, go with mobo problems.
My monitor refresh (like if I change the resolution) so often, I don't know why.
In the dxdiag, in the 3D test, i get a cube no well showing, i only see a bad image, like if the cube is turning hyper velocity.
In all sandra test i have a performance according with my system, but when i get to ride games, i get low performance than in my older system
My mem isn't kingston and isn't of any knowed mark. I only could to get kingstom memory instead, i would do it? is really so recomended?
Well, my best crazy head is about configuring the bios.  I don't know what to put in this values:
    System Bios Cacheable: Enabled.
    C000, 32k Shadow: Enabled.
    SDRAM frequency Auto
    SDRAM CAS# latency
    Row precharge Time
    Ras Pulse Width
    Ras To CAS delay
    Write recovery cycle
    Sdram Burst Length: 4qw
    SDRAM 1T Command: Enabled
    Fast Command Turbo
    FAST R"R turnaround Enabled
    about AGP:
    AGP Master 1 WS Write
    AGP Master 1 WS Read
    AGP READ Synchronization
    PCI LAtency  Timer 32
    Frecuency..
    Spread Spectrum = 0.5%
    CPU FSB 166
    CPU RATIO Auto
    CPU CORE Auto
    Vlink Voltage Auto
    DDr Voltage Auto
    AGP Voltage Auto
Too much question, really, i know.
I'm thinking to install a CPU Cooler in the mobo chipset and in the RADEON chipset also, must i do it?
All my CPU details are below.
    Thanks for all.!!!!

The model 8 Of AMD AThlon XP is a 333 FPU. I've read it in AMD and other pages.
i've reduced the case temp by putting another coller in this, but it makes really noise. The new Case temp is 48º C. I'm thinking about to buy another case, with some coolers.
May i have to change the mem to a kingstom mem?
    Much thks.

  • Raid Issues with 925XE Platnium-54G Mobo

Hello everyone, I am having ISSUES with the above mentioned mobo and the RAID configurations.  I cannot figure out for the life of me what channel is connected to which controller and how to configure the bios to use the ones I want.  The mobo has IDE1, IDE2, IDE3 and SATA1, SATA2, SATA3, SATA4.  IDE1 is Blue and isolated at the top of the mobo.  IDE2 and IDE3 are yellow and together at the bottom of the mobo.  All SATAs are together in the middle of the mobo.
When I read the book, I get the idea that IDE1 is its own controller,  IDE2 & IDE3 belong to the VIA controller and the SATAs belong to the Intel Controller.  Here is my problem whenever I connect a SATA device, the system hangs on POST!  I have tried every combination I can think of in the BIOS, but I cannot get the system to recognize these drives when connected to the SATA ports.
Here is what I am trying to do.
2 120 GB WD 8MB 7200 IDE Drives converted to SATA with the High Point Rocket Head 100 converter.  I want these to in a RAID 0 on the INTEL SATA controller.  I would like to use the VIA controller as an IDE controller not a raid controller, and connected a 200GB Data drive to one of those controllers.  Then use the IDE1 as my optical drive controller.
I know what you are going to say, that is is probably an incompatability with the rockethead converters, but before you jump to that conclusion, I upgraded from the MSI 875P Mobo and used the rocketheads successufully on that mobo.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to set up the bios so that I can get this thing set up the way I want it within the next 30 days so I can just reinstall Win XP before I activate it for the first time.
    Thank You
    Lightning
I presently have the 80's in a RAID on what I believe to be the VIA controller with the 200 on the secondary, but this does give me a boot delay, because it warns me that a raid cannot be created with a single drive on every boot.  the 200 is useable in Win XP Pro however.
    PLEASE HELP!

yup.  I have given up on this issue, according to High Point, the convert will not work on intel ich5, that's funny, I had it working on my 875 mobo which was ich5.  I am assuming, if it is not suppose to work on ich5, then it will NOT work on ich6.

  • Macbook Pro mid 2012 HDD clicking and low performance

    Hello, everybody!
I have a question about the HDD, I think it's failing or it's very close to failing.
From the moment I bought my Macbook Pro 13" mid 2012 model I noticed quite low performance and also very disturbing sound of the HDD clicking, even when I don't touch the laptop. Running Disk Utility check and Apple Diagnostics became my favorite pastime, but it showed no sign of HDD (or other kind of) failure.

Also I've noticed that the disk read operation takes more than (I believe) it should. For example, when I turn the laptop on and it was in the hibernation mode, it restores quite quickly and shows the login screen, but it's actually impossible to enter anything there, it just doesn't respond to keyboard or mouse input. By the time the login screen times out I am still unable to enter anything, and it goes back to sleep, and the story repeats.
More to it, most of the apps take ages to start. Preview starts in 5-10 seconds.
I thought it shouldn't be a software problem, since I formatted the drive and installed a fresh copy of OS X just two weeks ago.
So I went to the reseller I bought it from (Compustore here in Germany) and asked to check the laptop. They did, and told me everything was fine with it.
Is it indeed the normal behavior of Macbooks? I don't have anything to compare to, it's my first Mac, but I'm really far from being satisfied with it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions,
    Elijah.

Is it indeed the normal behavior of Macbooks?
No, of course not. It is very abnormal and the reseller's conclusion that everything is fine is obviously incorrect.
I have no explanation for the fact that Apple Diagnostics nor Disk Utility indicates a fault, but if the problem remained unchanged after taking the extreme measure of completely erasing the hard disk and installing OS X as you explained, then the only remaining cause is a hardware fault that has eluded all attempts to detect it.
I formatted the drive and installed a fresh copy of OS X just two weeks ago.
Confim the problems remained immediately after those actions and prior to installing any other software. The most common explanation for the behaviour you describe is the presence of any number of ill-conceived "anti-virus" or "cleanup" utilities.
If you described the problem and your attempts to rectify it accurately, then the reseller did not perform adequate diagnostic testing, or they are being deliberately deceitful, or they are simply incompetent.

  • How many IDE drives & CDrom can be installed with SATA drives??

How many IDE drives & CDrom can be installed with SATA drives??
i have 2 IDE hard disks & 2 CDROM drives: can install SATA hard disk added to these drives or do i have to remove some???
& if it can be added, can i install 2 SATA drives???
    THX in advance

The 3 versions of this board that are available are:
    875P Neo-FISR (PCB 2.0)
    875P Neo-LSR (PCB 1.0)
    875P Neo-FIS2R (PCB 1.0)
All of these boards will have the following ports provider by the chipsets ICH5R south bridge.
2 x SATA (Supporting 2 SATA HDD drives)
    2 x PATA (Supporting 4 IDE devices)
All 6 of these can be used at the same time (provided you are using win XP or 2K) you just need to make sure yor BIOS is set right.
    ->INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS
    ->ON-CHIP IDE CONFIG
ATA CONFIG: S-ATA ONLY or P-ATA ONLY
    S-ATA/P-ATA KEEP ENABLED: YES
    OPERATE MODE:
If you set to "legacy mode" S-ATA are set to channel 1 and 2 and P-ATA to channel 3 and 4. If you set to "native mode" P-ATA are channel 1 and 2 and S-ATA 3 and 4. You can only use the raid functionfon SATA in native mode.
If you have the 875P Neo-FIS2R (PCB 1.0) you will also have the following ports provided by the Promise PDC20378 PCI controller:
2 x SATA (Supporting 2 SATA HDD drives)
1 x PATA (Supporting 1 Master IDE HDD drive)
The PATA port is limited to 1 Master HDD by the lite BIOS. This can in theory be upgraded to the full BIOS supporting a master and a slave, but this may obviously void your warranty.
So the answer to your origional question is:
    2 x SATA HDDs and 4 x IDE HDD/CDROM if you have 875P Neo-FISR (PCB 2.0) or 875P Neo-LSR (PCB 1.0)
    or
    4 x SATA HDDs, 1 x IDE HDD (2 if you modify the BIOS) and 4 x IDE HDD/CDROM if you have 875P Neo-FIS2R (PCB 1.0)

I just upgraded from a core 2 quad 6600 with 8 gb of ram
to a core i7 920 on an X58 Platinum with 12 gb of 1333 ram (yes the ram is an approved spec according to the MSI online manual....I checked the part numbers on the ram)
I have an 9800gx2 and a velociraptor for a system drive, I have all the latest windows updates(vista 64) and the new 1.1 bios revision...and all the graphic card updates and chipset updates from intel
It is running so slow that as I type this the letters on screen cannnot keep up with my fingers, and I am not that fast of a typer.
It fells like I went back in time to a p3 or something.
Where should I begin to diagnose the problem??

I am running Raid 0 and performance is just terrible.Overclocks like a champ but the board is pretty much useless when it runs slow.
Things I have tried installed BIOS 322 which brang boot time to desktop to 1 minute 45 secs slow but ok I guess, some improvement in a couple games.
Installed XP64 no help or performance gain.
Windows 7 would just not install any drivers at all.
Vista 64 8 installs with no performance with different drivers.(You can install drivers off usb stick)
Bought a new Motherboard but I am going to wait a few days more and see if others BIOS will help.
There seems to be a few new BIOS I will try some them out today.
Contacted MSI tech support and they were kind enough to suggest the bios, you can give that a shot and see if it helps you out.My board is Platinum SLI board but should be same as Platinum board also but they have all the platinum BIos there too.
Regarding your concern, please log into following link to download and update to the latest bios A7522IMS.322:
-ftp link, username, password removed--not for public release
We would suggest you try to update the BIOS by using USB Bootable pendrive. It is convenienct for you:
1.First of all, please make a bootable USB.You can download USBoot.rar from following link. Then please unzip this software and install it to make a booting USB device:
--ftp link, username, password removed--not for public release
2.Next go to our website to download BIOS file, then copy “AFUD4281.exe” and “A7522IMS.322” into USB.
3.After that, restart PC, press F11, choose USB booting under “boot sequence”.
4.Under DOS mode, please type “AFUD4281.exe A7522IMS.322”(without the quotation marks)and it will be updated successfully!!
Remember to clean CMOS and Load Optimized Defaults under bios setup after you finish the BIOS update!
