I purchased LR3 Student & Teacher edition a while back; however, never installed it (have the original boxed product). Since I purchased LR3 S&Teacher, I would like to upgrade to LR5 (NON-Student/Teacher edition aka 'Regular Version' as I am NO LONGER eligible). Can I purchase the upgrade and install it without having to go through the motions of installing LR3 Student, only to replace it 10 minutes later with LR5 Upgrade? I also ask because at the current time, I do not have credentials like I did before when I originally purchased it). I know this may be a very specific scenario, but that is why I am here. I could just purchase the full version, but since I DO OWN the previous, why spend the extra $ on the non-upgrade? What are the best steps? I have an i3 Toshiba laptop and an i5 Dell Tower, both with 6 GB RAM.

Note that LR3 was designed for OSX 10.5 or 10.6. It will run on 10.9 (Mavericks) but there may be some appearance differences to the sliders. But why not give the download a try. Otherwise you may be best to upgrade to LR5 or wait for LR6.

Is it possible to control what updates a client will install, but have them be downloaded from Microsoft?

We have many smaller sites that are connected to our MPLS network on low bandwidth links such as 2 - 4 Mbps. There is not enough infrastructure there to support a DP site server. Is there a way to tell the client what Windows Updates to install, but
have that client download from Microsoft rather than a DP?
Part of the problem is that the DP for those clients will have the files, so most of the options I see on the specify download settings of this deployment page of the wizard, do not seem to work for me. I see where I can tell the client to use Microsoft
Updates if the updates are not found on distribution point. But they will be found because they will be there for clients that use it with higher bandwidth.
Is branch cache ( or allow clients to share content I guess ) my only option?

Meldavis99 you can download the retail installation files at Download CS5 products. The installation files should accept your Student and Teacher serial number.

Try resetting ...
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You won't lose any data as a result of a reset.

If Microsoft Support was not able to help you, I doubt there is much we can do for you in this user forum, given the fact that we are all volunteers and do not work for Microsoft. If you have an MSDN subscription, you should be able to download Microsoft
Project 2007, but I cannot guarantee your product key will work. The alternative is to bite the bullet and purchase the 2013 version of Microsoft Project. There is a LOT of new functionality that has been introduced since the 2007 version and I
think you could really benefit from those new features. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

How can I have Acrobat Pro v8 and v7 installed but have v7 as default?

I just re-formatted my hard drive and reinstalled CS3 Design Standard.
I need the better quality voice to read pdf docs to me. The voice in Version 7 is very much better. Yet when I select a pdf file and go to info, where it shows what will open it -- it WILL NOT let me specify Acrobat 7 permanently. It keeps popping back to Acrobat 8. Same problem before I reformatted the drive and re-installed everything. so the issue is within Acrobat.
How can I get it to do what I'm asking short of zipping the version 8 file and leaving only Acrobat 7 in my Applications folder?
This is annoying having to keep Acrobat 8 hobbled.

I'm going to try again. correcting mistakes and I will bold face corrections:
Try the following This *doesn't* work for the MSOffice2008 but usually does for others.
On OSX.4.11.
choose a group of PDF's (more than 5).
now either control-click or right click on the group and wait for context menu to open up.
select get *Summary Info* on the group.
now when get info window is open look for default application.
If acrobat 8 is selected click on button and locate acrobat 7. release when mouse when 7 is selected.
Below That will be another button That says make default for all files of this type. click on That button.
close get *Summary Info window*. Test.
Now if you need a PDF opened in 8 either open 8 first then choose desired file or if you have the Acrobat 8 icon in the Dock drag and drop document on the icon of Acrobat 8
IF you retry then Acrobat is like Office2008 setting this has no effect.
In this case you can highlight the File go to finder menu File and choose open with. you have to wait for a list to be created of applications that will open. Choose desired version of Acrobat or Reader from there.
Or if you have icon of both Acrobat 7 and 8 in the dock, drop the file on the icon of Acrobat 7.
See if I did better this time.

LR3 student edition - upgrade?

Hi All,
I have searched the older threads but was unable to find a similar question (unusual, unless I haven't searched properly!).
I am based in the UK and looking to purchase the student version of Lightroom 3. I was under the impression that the student version was not upgradeablebut the educational version was (or is that just for CS5 etc?). I can't seem to locate the educational version so if I purchase the student version, can I upgrade this at a later date i.e. to LR4 etc? If so, would the cost of the upgrade be the same as someone upgrading from a 'normal' version of LR3?

Student status may only be available to me until 2011 so that would mean either sticking with LR3 or paying the full price (on top of the £70 paid for the student version) for any newer edition such as LR4 etc. It seems that would be a more expensive way of going about things unless I'm missing something

How do I change the font on this new 27" IMac I have just bought for 2200.00 and can't read as the font is far too small.I have contact lens and but have to strain with face close to the screen to see the words. What a major rip off disappointment ,

Not an ideal solution, but some users change the setting in: System Preferences>Displays, select the Scaled button and choose another resolution.
If you are within 14 days of purchased you can return the computer for a refund if you dislike it that much as Apple do have a good returns policy (so long as you purchased from Apple and not a reseller).

I am legally blind but have suffient sight in one eye to be able to see most things. I truly wish that the iphone would have the facility to permanently enlarge the Apps icons. Also the Contacts file as its very difficult to see on screen.

Does anyone think Apple will ever include permanently large App Icons and Contact in larger fonts??

Perhaps the iPad is a better device for you, although such small tools are not the best for those who cannot see well.
