Lumia 710 light screen scratches

Hi all,
Just wondering if any other owners of the Lumia 710 are seeing light scratches on the screen? I've only had the device for a couple of weeks and already have a couple of light scratches that are visible in daylight.
I'm very surprised at this as I keep the phone in a case most of the time and have been very careful with the device in general. If kept in a pocket it has always been on its own with no keys or coins.
I've owned several other devices over the last few years, with and without Gorilla Glass, and have never had a single scratch on any screen after months of use. To have a couple on the 710 after only a few weeks is rather alarming.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is seeing similar issues.

Yes.I have a Lumia 710 and Lumia 800. Both had scratches on the screen.I used a Nokia N8 for two years with not a single scratch. Odd.

NOKIA Lumia 710: Touch screen focus no longer work...

Hello.
I've only had my Lumia 710 for two weeks. Up until 4 days ago, the touch screen focus attribute was working perfectly. I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.
I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.
Aside from having to do a hard reset, does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to possibly fix this?
Maybe I'm missing an obvious and simple setting? Maybe not. Lol

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Normally Nokia Lumia 710 should focus on the part you tap with your finger (and show a reticle while doing so) and snap a picture. There is no setting to switch this off, so it should be working by default. We would advise you to reset your phone at Settings > About > Reset your phone. Just remember to backup your media files before doing so, because it will wipe your phone clean. If the issue persists, visit your local Nokia Care point and let them have a look.

Lumia 710 standby screen wont turn off

The standby screen of my nokia lumia 710 wont turn off. I powers off when i hit the standby button but when i recieve a new email/whatsapp the screen stays on for hours resulting in a battery life of max a half day. It started a week ago an I did a hard resut in order to solve the problem but it didn't help.
What can be a good solution?

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.

Dear Nokia technicians,
First of all it's a really good phone & this is my 4th Nokia phone. The only problem is it's screen. See the attached pics & look at the upper right hand corner of the phone screen. This is a defect which can be seen through bare eyes but the Nokia care center(NCC) guy said that it's a regular feature. How can a defect be a feature of the phone????
My brand new phone also had a flickering screen which the NCC replaced with the current defective screen.
Though that defect doesn't hamper the functioning of the phone but WHY CAN'T I HAVE A NOKIA WITH PERFECT SCREEN??????????
And it's also causing it's brand to deteriorate 'coz whenever my friends see my phone they asks me about the screen & I have to tell them that it's defective.

Nokia lumia 710 touch screen cracked.

I was walking on road &ma phone felt down from pocket and screen cracked..but its working good as before and there is no problem on display...i went to nokia care to change this they are saying it costs 4600...will it costs that much??? Or else shall i change the service centre...but i saw in net that the touch lens cost only 800.Rs....so i have an idea that i can get that touch lens and assemble my self.....pls give suggestions regarding....waiting for ur reply...pls kindly help me.....

Unfortunately upon this manufacturer's sponsored forum discussion of disassembly of devices is prohibited primarily due to warranty considerations and can only advise visiting Nokia Care facility. That said screen connectors are quite delicate and if not familiar you may complicate the issue trying to repair it yourself.

Nokia Lumia 710 Slide Screen sticking

The right side seems to stick when I try to slide up or down, works okay on the left side of the screen, but sticks occasionally. Any fixes? Love the phone have had it a year, hope it's not dying cause the warranty expired.

That is normal if it is a new phone. It will eventually get smooth when continually used especially when your fingers are oily.

Hi, I recently buy a retail Lumia 710 and noticed that under bright levels others than high (low, medium and auto) the screen bright level flicks when scrolling apps with high contrast elements in screen, like Internet Explorer or between menus with white background. Lumia 710 unresponsive bright yellow screen!

I own a nokia lumia 710. Recently I opened a weather app and suddenly the screen went unresponsive and had a yellow/orange bright display(didn't cover the whole screen, edges were black). I could not switch it off or restart it, so I removed the battery. When the phone restarted, display was back but the screen was still bright accompanied with lots of flickering.
Eventually within a few hours the phone recovered, but I would like to know what caused this problem. Was it the weather app or something else??
And finally was pulling out the battery a bad move?

try to delete the last application you installed and report if the problem persists after that.
if so, you may need to reformat your device.

Lumia 710-screen shakes

Hi!
i have an issue with lumia 710 screen. When i scroll down the page, it starts to shake. I have brightness on high.
Any solutions? I read that lots of 710 got that problem.

I had issues with this today when I used the micro-usb to charge my lumia 710 from my PC. It halted everything and I was unable to swipe and tap. The physical buttons still worked but are pretty useless if you can't swipe/tap. The funny thing was I thought a reboot would fix this but after holding the power button for a few seconds I got a message on the screen to swipe down to confirm this action - Hello I can't swipe/tap !! Anyways after a few tries of attaching the usb cable, the issue fixed itself.

Nokia Lumia 710 Screen - Yellow Display

Hi everyone
I have been using the Lumia 710 for the past 5 months or so and today morning I woke up to find my phone's display with yellow hue instead of white background. Took it to the Nokia Care and the guys are now blaming it on me saying water has entered the display and some nonsense. My warranty is not over yet but the Nokia care guys are saying that I have voided the warranty as there was water on the board. I always am protective of my phone and why would someone deliberately let their phone to be spoiled with water. Can I demand for the service without paying for the change of display because I think this is unfair.

There are more causes of water damage than just immersion in actual water. For example prolonged exposure to steam, sweat, rain and high humidity can cause moisture damage as can rapid temperature changes.
If you feel that they are wrong you should call Nokia care in your country and ask for the complaints department or address and try to resolve it through them. They have more power to try and resolve the situation for you.
Unfortunately there is nothing that the users of this forum can do to help you.

Problem back cover letters lumia 710

Hello i have a lumia 710 which is in warranty, but the back cover letters from slogan "NOKIA" detached.Only letter "O" detached but it beggins and "N". I went to the service, and they told me that the warranty does not cover the back cover but on the website Nokia wrote that design elements are being covered. "Nokia warrants to you that during the warranty period Nokia or a Nokia authorized service company will in a commercially reasonable time remedy defects in materials, design and workmanship free of charge by repairing or, should Nokia in its absolute discretion deem it necessary, replacing the Product in accordance with this Limited Warranty (unless otherwise required by law). "

As far as I'm aware a design fault would be something that impeded the functionality of the phone. Think Apple and the "antennagate" affair whereby the design of the phone caused a loss of signal if the phone was held "incorrectly". Another example would be dust entering the device and getting under the screen and affecting the proximity sensor or the front facing camera because of the design of the phone.
Your particular issue is cosmetic and doesn't prevent the phone from being used as intended. I do understand where you're coming from and it must be annoying to have the Nokia logo coming off but unfortunately, I can't see Nokia fixing it under the phones warranty.

Nokia lumia 710 issue before and after send to rep...

need some advice from the forumer/nokia.
Just bought about a month but my lumia 710 already had an issue 3 days after bought it.
had send it to nokia care center at the 1st time due to battery drainage issue but the profesionalism of the staff was too bad.not satisfied with their attitude also.
had told them about another issue like zune can't detect my phone, sometimes can't heard what the people or someone want to said to me when i'm receiving the call. when call out a friend/somebody, they can't hear my voice. didn't receive any call in 1 day but after rebooting the phone got to many missed call log. had been told by my friend that they can't reach me when they call me and all the call that day has been forwarded to voice mail box.
didn't know why it happened. had been send back to authorised reseller about this issue and my phone has been handed to nokia care center by them.
after return from the nokia care center, had ask the reseller what is the root cause , the reseller said the nokia care center just downgraded my firmware/os back to 7.5 mango and said the problem solve. just use it back but my phone issue still arising. when receive/make a call the batteries drainage issue still exist. just talk about 5 minutes and the batteries was shown too be deplete but the main point is the batteries was shown 90% before make/receive a call. ?????????????.
should i returned it back to nokia care center or get back my .....
are they/the tech expert at nokia care center was too lazy or or lack of knowledge or not knowing of the level of troubleshooting method how to solve the problem and didn't know the root cause issue. its about a month send it to nokia care center but nothing/useless due to the issue/problem was still there.
check at the website support using the emei number, the repair/emei status didn't exist.

My Nokia Lumia 710 stopped working during updating...

My Nokia Lumia 710 was connected to my Pc by cable and was being updated. As the updating was going on, probably during the 7th or 8th step, it hanged and stopped responding. The updating could not complete. The worst is that the phone can no longer be powered off except when you remove the battery and after replacing the battery, it cannot boot, except to draw a diagram of phone connected to a PC. That was the stage in the updating process when it stopped working.
Please, advice me on what to do becasuse the phone is of no longer use to me. I bought it in December 2012 and it got spoilt in April 2013. I have taken to Nokia Care centre around me. but the price they said they will use to repair it is equivalent to buying a new one. Please help.

Nokia Lumia 710 blank tile space

I just recently bought a new Lumia 710. Earlier the homescreen was filled with tiles. But suddenly I find there is a gap of one tile space in the second row (by the side of tile showing messaging). Is it possible to fill this gap space? Any quick assistance would be helpful.

Does any application open when you TAP on the Blank tile ? Most probably it will ( provided you have not Un-Pinned that application) . Once you know for which application it was for..just Long Press on the blank tile and 'Unpin' from the Home screen. Now, go to the list of applications by swiping Left on the Home screen. Select that application and Long Press on it..Select 'Pin to Start' .. You may then drag it to the blank space if it gets placed at other location on the Home screen.....
Refer Pg. 21 of the User Guide if you need to know more about Pin / Un-pin option ...

I'm trying to sync the photos on my Lumia 710 to my computer. I've done it before using Zune but it doesn't seem to be working this time. Any ideas?

I have 710, see below points.
• UI. Screen touch, display, internet surfing is very good.
• unable to share any file viva Bluetooth to other any device.
• unable to internet sharing.
• for any file transfer need own pc/laptop through zune software.
• you can't sync 3gp, pdf, other file viva pc.
• picture qulity in night not good.
