LWAPP Conversion of 1252 AP failing

Hello. I am having trouble performing a simple autonomous to lwapp conversion on a 1252 .11n AP. It is the LWAPP model number, but of course it shipped with Autonomous code on it. So I have to convert.
I have version 3.4 of upgrade tool. I create the flat file with the one AP in it and enter all the necessary information. I use the upgrade tool TFTP server and navigate/select the image file: exact file is -> "c1250-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar". When I select upgrade I get an error indicating the recovery image is not a valid one.
Does anyone know what I am missing here? Can someone outline the steps? This is my first conversion attempt as I have been running 1000 Series APs for the past 3 years.
Thanks
Chuck

Try this:
Autonomous to LWAPP (Shortcut)
Requirements:
• Image file (The recovery file has the prefix “rcv” in the image name, such as c1200-rcvk9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar);
• AP is connected to the Wireless LAN Controller; and
• AP can ping the TFTP server where the image is located.
Procedure
1. Copy the recovery file to the AP using the following command:
archive tar /x tftp:/// flash:
2. Let the AP boot on this image:
boot system flash://.bin
3. Reboot the AP.
OPTIONAL
• DO NOT ALLOW THE AP TO JOIN THE WIRELESS LAN CONTROLLER.
• IF POSSIBLE, type the following commands:
 clear lwapp private-config (This will bring the AP to factory default.);
 clear lwapp ap ip address
 clear lwapp ap hostname
 clear lwapp ap controller ip address
4. Let the AP connect to the Wireless LAN controller.
OPTIONAL
If an AP refuses to join the Wireless LAN Controller, type the following command from the AP:
lwapp ap controller ip address

  • Aironet 1200 LWAPP Conversion and WLC Authorization Issues

    Please excuse the length of this.
    I am trying to convert several Aironet 1200 series APs to the LWAPP Recovery image and register them with a WLC. There is no WCS involved.
    All of the 1200s have b/g cards in them, specifically MP21G and MP31G, so per the "Upgrading Autonomous Cisco Aironet Access Points to Lightweight Mode" guide, I am good. The 1200s are older and obviously do not have the manufacturer certificate.
    The WLC is running the latest code, AIR-WLC4400-K9-3-2-116-21.aes.
    The APs are running 12.3(7)JA2 or 12.3(7)JA3, all of which per the upgrade document and the Upgrade Tool utility meet the minimum requirements being 12.(7)JA or greater.
    I will first dive into the disaster of the conversion process.
    First, I upgraded a 1200 with a MP21G radio module. As far as the Upgrade Tool, I specified everything mandatory (AP credential file, recovery image, time source) while leaving the WLC and DNS server information absent. It successfully loaded the image and created all the necessary keys. Soon after I upgraded the image, the AP started rebooting continuously. I downgraded the AP to IOS, and found that the AP no longer has visibility of it’s radio module. It is simply gone. I upgraded and downgraded the code on the AP, hoping in the process that it would rediscover the radio module but it never did. I have not taken it apart yet to see if there is anything physically wrong and I will, but it was working fine previously, so even though it is possible that the radio module has checked out, my mind just can’t go there. Scratch one.
    So, AP number two has the same hardware. After attempting to convert it seven times with complete failure, on the eighth it successfully converted. I changed nothing is the upgrade process. Cool. So, with this success, I wanted to add it to WLC.
    Network overview: the AP and WLC (Management and AP-Manager) are in the same broadcast domain.
    Ok, the WLC configuration. The WLC is in Layer 3 mode which per the documentation is the only supported configuration that the converted Aironet APs will support. The Management and AP-Manager interfaces have been defined and are up and pingable by the converted AP. The AP information (AP MAC address, SSC, SHA key hash) has been entered in the WLC AP Authorization list as well. SSC certificates have been allowed.
    As far as DHCP options 43 and 60, none have been defined. Per the documentation, even if the WLC Controller is in Layer 3 mode, as long as the AP is in the same broadcast domain, the AP should do a LWAPP discovery and make a join request to the controller. Again, the AP can ping both the Managment and AP-Manager interfaces.
    So far, the AP has not been able to join the WLC. There is nothing in the logs. I have failed to do a debug on the WLC to see what is going on, but one thing I have seen is on the AP debug, a “AP-Manager not enough interfaces” message.
    All the documentation I have been referring to is the "Upgrading Autonomous Cisco Aironet Access Points to Lightweight Mode" guide.
    I will put the AP on a different segment tomorrow and try the DHCP route.
    It is probably something simple.
    Any ideas? :)

    Jason
    From your post I belive you've done everything the right way...excetp: Have you activated Master Controller Mode? If you haven't, no AP is ever gonna be able to register with a controller. You need to activate it temporarily when you want to add new (converted only?) radios. Once the AP is visible on the master controller (in the Wireless tab), define the primary / secondary / tertiary controller for it. If you're finished with registering any new radios, disable it again.
    You can find it under Controller -> Master Controller Mode
    And yes...always keep the AP you want to convert in the same subnet as the management int (so you don't have to use DHCP and fumble around with the option 43 setting to find the controller). To help the Upgrade Tool work troublefree: Enable Telnet mode on the controller. Also, don't forget to enter the mgmt IP / user name / password in the Upgrade Tool. At least with this I was able to complete my upgrading and registering process successfully in my own environment.
    Hope this helps...
    Toni

  • LWAPP Conversion Error

    I am converting an 1131AG autonomous to LWAPP using the conversion tool v3.2. The conversion fails when checking input variables, specifically the text file containing the IP address, telnet username, telnet password, and enable password. I can't believe I'm doing something wrong, as I've read the doc on how to prepare this file and it's just a TXT file with comma separated values. As an example, I tried:
    192.168.1.1,scott,password,password and saved it as "IP File.txt"
    Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this information?
    Regards,
    Scott

    I meant telenet enabled.... Have you looed at the read me file:
    List of Prerequisites before running Upgrade Tool 3.2
    1) The Upgrade tool operates only on a PC with the Windows 2000/XP
    work station operating system.
    2) The Upgrade tool operates only with Cisco Aironet 1100, 1130, 1200,
    1240, 1250, 1310(AP mode only) series access points and C3201 WMIC
    running Cisco IOS Release 12.3(7)JA software or greater.
    3) The person installing and running the Upgrade tool must be
    logged in and must be the administrator of the PC.
    4) If the Upgrade tool is used on WAN link then link speed should be greater
    than or equal to 128 Kbps.
    5) The Upgrade tool requires a valid IP file containing IP address,
    Username, Password and enable Password separated by a comma, for
    each access point to be upgraded.
    Note: Have a check that no multiple entries for same AP are mentioned.
    6) Presence of Fire-wall may result in download of image failure. So, have
    a check of Fire-wall presence and its configuration.
    7) All the access-points and Controller must have telnet service enabled.
    8) Make a check whether the system time is configured properly.
    Post a screen capture of the error if possible.

  • UCM 11.1.1.4 : indexation : Text conversion of the file failed

    Hello,
    I'm facing an indexation issue with MS Office files, pdf, ...
    For instance :
    Text conversion of the file '/opt/oracle/middlewarehome/ucm/cs/weblayout/groups/public/documents/document/mdaw/mdaw/~edisp/virtuoz2dev000342.doc' failed.
    Content has been indexed with Info only. Resubmit should only be performed if the problem has been resolved.
    This a new installation of UCM 11.1.1.4 with Oracle DB 10.2.0.5.2 and WLS 10.3.4, all on a SUSE10 server.
    This issue is very similar to this one :
    Re: XML Not Indexing???
    But in my case, xml and txt files have no problem.
    thanks for your help,
    Vince

    Hi Srinath,
    Thanks for your reply. I checked the certification matrix and the certified version of DB with UCM 11g are :
    Oracle 10.2.0.4+
    Oracle 11.1.0.7+
    Oracle 11.2.0.1+
    It doesn't include 10.2.0.5 ??
    I managed to trace the server output.
    It seems there is a missing file : search.cfg
    also, what is the meaning of the "mdaw" directories ?

  • PSE 10 Catalog Conversion (from PSE 6) fails

    Installed 10, prompted to convert catalog from previous version.  All is well so far.  Process starts, gets to 34% and hangs.  Eventually times out and says conversion failed, that the catalog should be repaired in original app.  I repaired in PSE 6 (though it did not say it needed to, did anyway).  Then went back to PSE 10.  Selected PSE 6 catalog and it completed conversion in 2 seconds 16, 227 photos, I don't think so!)  Sure enough no photos came over to PSE 10.
    I am now in a state where I can only get to my photos from PSE 10 and can not get the catalog to PSE 10.  Please help??

    There may be several reasons for this conversion failure, especially from version 6. I had two main catalogs and several smaller ones for projects for friends. Before trying the conversions, I did just like you, a repair and optimize before converting. In most cases, no problems. However I met two different failures.
    One was due to the fact I had a couple of pictures in jpeg2000 format. The jpeg2000 format plugin was present in PSE6, not in PSE10.
    In that case, instead of asking PSE10 to convert, I did a backup in PSE6 and a restore from PSE10 : bingo, I got a message showing the offending files. So my advice is to use the backup/restore way which does an automatic conversion with less problems.
    The second case was on one of my main catalogs, which showed its age, with a lot of transfers between computers via backups on various external disks. I simply used psedbtools to check if something was wrong with my PSE6 catalog. (http://johnrellis.best.vwh.net/psedbtool/).
    The result was 4 types of drives errors in the catalog from the 7 shown by John R Ellis... The organizer did handle that perfectly withi PSE6 : I never noticed errors in backup/restore. But as stated in the help documentation, those errors can be very problematic when upgrading to versions above 6.
    So my advice now : first try the backup/restore way, then if not successful, install and run psedbtool and report back for more help.

  • Column maping and conversion between dissimilar tables fails.

    Hello,
    I have two Oracle databases of different versions and replicate an only schema in one direction (9.2.0.8 -> 11.2.0.3).
    An instrument of replication is GoldenGate 11.1.1.1.2_05.
    All objects of two replicating schemas are identical except one table -
    in 9.2.0.8 the table have this appearance -
    create table test.t1 add (id number, nm number);
    create index test.i_t1 on test.t1(id);however, in 11.2.0.3 -
    create table test.t11g add (id number, vch varchar2(5));
    create index test.i_t1 on test.t11g(id);and all objects, except this mentioned table in its two incarnations, are replicating successfully.
    Now about GoldenGate structure - it looks like this -
    (DB 9.2.0.8) -> (Extractor) -> (Local trail) -> (Pump) -> (Network) -> (Remote trail) -> (Replicator) -> (DB 11.2.0.3)
    I decided to make mapping and conversion at target site and, however, I have those parameters for replicator -
    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
    --source and target definitions
    SOURCEDEFS /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.1.2ogg411g/dirdef/sourcedef
    --target database login --
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD XXX
    --file for dicarded transaction --
    DISCARDFILE /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.1.2ogg411g/discard/rep1_discard.txt, APPEND, MEGABYTES 10
    --ddl support
    DDL
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP test.t1, TARGET test.t11g, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, VCH=@STRNUM(NM));
    MAP test.*, TARGET test.*;
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;And, of course, I have created definitions file at source site and have copied it afterwards to the target site, so parameter SOURCEDEFS reflects the reality.
    For some completeness of the picture I'll providing parameters of extractor and of pump extractor -
    --extract group--
    EXTRACT ext1
    --connection to database--
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD xxx
    EXTTRAIL /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.12ogg/dirdat/ss
    SEQUENCE test.*
    --DDL support
    DDL INCLUDE MAPPED OBJNAME test.*
    --DML
    TABLE test.*;
    TABLEEXCLUDE test.DIFFTYPE;
    -- Identify the data pump group:
    EXTRACT pump11
    --connection to database--
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD xxx
    RMTHOST db-dev-2, MGRPORT 7869
    RMTTRAIL /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.1.2ogg411g/dirdat/tt
    sequence test.*
    -- Allow mapping, filtering, conversion or pass data through as-is:
    PASSTHRU
    -- Specify tables to be captured:
    TABLE test.*;Before definitions file generation, at source site there was created this parameters -
    DEFSFILE /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.12ogg/dirdef/sourcedef
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD xxx
    TABLE test.*;Whenever I've tried to insert a row at source site my replicator became abendon immediately and in $GG_HOME/ggserr.log there are appear those lines -
    2012-10-11 23:49:17  WARNING OGG-00869  Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, rep2.prm:  Failed to retrieve column list handle for table TEST.T1.
    2012-10-11 23:49:17  ERROR   OGG-00199  Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, rep2.prm:  Table TEST.T1 does not exist in target database.
    2012-10-11 23:49:17  ERROR   OGG-01668  Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, rep2.prm:  PROCESS ABENDING.It seems to me that the source of the issue is in some kind of bug in GoldenGate but it would be my last resort to upgrade the system.
    This is my first steps in this area, so I would like to any help.
    Edited by: ArtemKhisamiev on 12.10.2012 0:23

    I've tried to change slightly replication params from this -
    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
    <...>
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP test.t1, TARGET test.t11g, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, VCH=@STRNUM(NM));
    MAP test.*, TARGET test.*;
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;to something like this -
    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
      <...>
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP test.T1, TARGET test.T11G, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, VCH=@STRNUM(NM));
    MAP test.CITIES, TARGET test.CITIES;
    MAP test.COUNTRIES, TARGET test.COUNTRIES;
    MAP test.LOBEXP, TARGET test.LOBEXP;
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;Now replication works. So the problem was in asterisk which of course stands for test.T1 - the table which is substituted by test.T11g in target site.
    Then, how can I exclude test.T1 from generalisation? To enumerate every table in a schema is a mad overcome, especially if the schema is really bulky of objects?

  • Online conversion of Word files fails

    While trying to convert a Word file online, the system says "conversion in progress" ("Konvertierung läuft" in German) for several minutes, than renders "conversion failed".
    It is basically the same file I had successfully converted two times before online, with minor changes.
    Any ideas anybody?

    You are apparently using the online createPDF or equivalent service and not Acrobat. Please go to the appropriate forum for more information. This forum is for the stand-alone Acrobat product.

  • Logical System Conversion after system refresh failed

    Hello,
    Logical System Conversion after system refresh couldn't complete as the printer was locked. This job was run in the background. In SM37, the  job log of RBDLSMAP shows as job finished, but it took only 40 seconds. Now I see that the logical system got changed(Converted) in the client settings scc4 but I know that this client being a production client and would run for couple of hours. Here is the job log information.

    When try to rerun bdls again, it shows that it is already available and it says "The new logical system name is already assigned to the current client".
    Any suggestions on this?
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    Hi ,
    Rerun the BDLS again as this took very little time.
    When you try to run again it popsup message saying it already exists just delete that and again put the Logical system name and run it will run that time.
    May be while scheduling the job you gave for spool I am not sure why is it looking for Printer which is locked.
    Thanks.

  • 1142N autonomous to lwapp conversion question...

    G'day All,
    I have a handful of 1142n APs to convert to lwapp mode. I am ok the upgrade process (i.e: tftp the rcv file to the AP, run the archive command, boot the AP with the rcv file, etc) but what I'm confused about is if the 1142s I have currently have 1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA what is the corresponding rcv file version? From the CCO I can't see a 12.4.25 version in the lwapp ios files. I can see  12.4.21a-JX, 12.4.23c-JA5, 12.4.23c-JA2, 12.4.18a-JA1.
    Also under the Latest Release is the 12.4.21a-JX rcv file, but it is labelled as a WIRELESS LAN LWAPP RECOVERY version which I am not sure I can use.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    JS

    G'day There Scott.
    I've done a couple of test runs of this and everything went pretty successfully. I wanted to ask, as once the AP was rebooted pointing to the new rcv file, it would connect to the WLC and download a lower version of software. I used
    c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JA.tar as you recommended, but once the AP connected to the WLC is reported something like it couldn't find the correct software version, so it downloaded and ran the folllowing version of software:
    12.4(25e)JA$.
    Did I miss a step with the use of the RCV file or is it just simply the fact that the WLC on has 12.4(25) version software so that is what the AP takes from the WLC?
    Cheers,
    JS

  • BDLS Conversion after System Copy fails

    Hi All,
    We are doing a Homogeneous System Copy on a AIX 5.3/Oracle 10.2.0.4/ SAP ERP 6.0 environment.
    After the system copy we had to run BDLS to convert logical system names in tables. Except for 3 tables namely EDPP1, TBD05 and TBD06 the BDLS run was successful.
    We tried to convert the logical system names in these tables by running BDLS for these tables individually however they failed again.
    The error was - "Error in field of table. Manual correction required"
    I checked SAP Note 121163 and it is mentioned in this note -
    "If the new logical system name already exists in the system, it can cause errors for tables in which the logical system is key field or
    unique index (for example, COFIO1). In this case the number of converted entries is smaller than the number of selected entries."
    And in this case a manual post-processing is required. How do I go about doing this manual post-processing?
    1. Should I maintain these directly at the table level - which is cumbersome as there are a lot of entries?
    2. Or using a small ABAP program?
    Please let me know if any other information is required frommy side.
    Thanks, Dibya

    Hi,
    Yes ofcourse, you need to check all settinfs, once you copy teh system you are going loose all RFC's and Source and Destinations ectc, so adject all that settings.
    See the following  SAP Notes:
    SAP Note 886102 - System Landscape Copy for SAP NetWeaver BW

  • After conversion to 2005Q4, uwc fails on monthly calendar view

    We just converted from 2004Q2 to 2005Q4. In uwc, when certain users try the monthly view, they get nothing (the page load hangs). What's worse, a thread in the web server goes into an infinite loop. After a few of these tries the system gets slow.
    I am 99% sure of the following: There was a change in 2005Q4 in the format for all-day events. Previously a start time only was listed. Now both a start and an end are listed in the internal database. Apparently the routine that sorts events by time for display in the monthly view gets confused by events without an end time, going into a loop (or possibly get a null pointer exception, though that's a symptom I haven't seen here).
    Since I doubt I can get Sun to generate a patch quickly enough to be useful, I'm dealing with it by fixing all the calendars.
    Here is an awk script to fix up an ics file:
    BEGIN{FS=":"
    l[1] = 31
    l[2] = 28
    l[3] = 31
    l[4] = 30
    l[5] = 31
    l[6] = 30
    l[7] = 31
    l[8] = 31
    l[9] = 30
    l[10] = 31
    l[11] = 30
    l[12] = 31
    $1 ~ "^DTSTART" {
    gots = 1
    $1 ~ "^DTEND" {
    gotend = 1
    gote = 1
    $1 == "DTSTART;VALUE=DATE" {
    date = $2 }
    $1 == "CREATED" {
    if (date && ! gotend) {
    year = substr(date,1,4)+0
    month = substr(date,5,2)+0
    day = substr(date,7,2)+0
    if (year % 4 == 0) {
    l[2] = 29
    } else {
    l[2] = 28
    if (day == l[month]) {
    day = 1
    month = month+1
    if (month == 13) {
    month = 1
    year = year+1
    } else
    day = day + 1
    gote = 1
    didchange = 1
    printf( "DTEND;VALUE=DATE:%04d%02d%02d\r\n", year, month, day)
    if ($0 == "END:VEVENT\r")
    if (!gote || !gots)
    print "####no s or e" >> "/dev/tty"
    date = ""
    gote = ""
    gots = ""
    gotend = ""
    print $0
    END {
    if (didchange)
    print "changed" >"changed"
    Here's a csh script that uses the awk script to fix one calendar:
    #!/bin/csh
    echo converting $1
    (cd /army/sunone/servers3/calserv/cal/sbin; ./csbackup -c "$1" calendar /export/
    convert/cal.ics)
    rm -f changed
    nawk -f fixcal.awk cal.ics >newcal.ics
    if (-e changed) then
    echo reloading $1
    (cd /army/sunone/servers3/calserv/cal/sbin; ./csrestore -c "$1" calendar /expo
    rt/convert/newcal.ics)
    else
    echo no change in $1
    endif
    Here's an example of a file that uses it. I created this from a listing done with cscal -l.
    ./fixcal "[email protected]"
    ./fixcal "[email protected]"
    ./fixcal "[email protected]"
    This is probably practical for a few thousand calendars. If you have more than that, this is probably going to take too long.

    Let's try that again. The awk script works, but it tries to set DTEND for TODO entries, which isn't valid. Fortunately the system seems to ignore them, but it's probably best not to do it. The following causes the script only to look at EVENT entries
    BEGIN{FS=":"
    l[1] = 31
    l[2] = 28
    l[3] = 31
    l[4] = 30
    l[5] = 31
    l[6] = 30
    l[7] = 31
    l[8] = 31
    l[9] = 30
    l[10] = 31
    l[11] = 30
    l[12] = 31
    $1 ~ "^DTSTART" {
      gots = 1
    $1 ~ "^DTEND" {
      gotend = 1
      gote = 1
    $1 == "DTSTART;VALUE=DATE" {
      date = $2 }
    $1 == "CREATED" {
      if (inevent && date && ! gotend) {
        year = substr(date,1,4)+0
        month = substr(date,5,2)+0
        day = substr(date,7,2)+0
        if (year % 4 == 0) {
          l[2] = 29
        } else {
          l[2] = 28
        if (day == l[month]) {
          day = 1
          month = month+1
          if (month == 13) {
            month = 1
            year = year+1
        } else
          day = day + 1
        gote = 1
        didchange = 1
        printf( "DTEND;VALUE=DATE:%04d%02d%02d\r\n", year, month, day)
    $0 == "BEGIN:VEVENT\r" {
      inevent = 1
      if ($0 == "END:VEVENT\r")
        inevent = 0
        if (!gote || !gots)
          print "####no s or e" >> "/dev/tty"
        date = ""
        gote = ""
        gots = ""
        gotend = ""
    print $0
    END {
      if (didchange)
        print "changed" >"changed"

    Hi All,
    I have a standalone AP of model AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9 and have changed the mode to LAP by using mannual archive command. However after changing the mode to LAP it gives below log and keep on booting.

    Kindly help me in understanding whats going wrong with my AP?

    One of the errors is saying that it can't find any SSC in the private file.
    This yells me the AP doesn't have a certificate. Why you'll want ti do is reload an IOS image on the AP and then use the conversion tool to load the capwap image. By using the conversion tool, it wil execute some commands that create a SSC, a self signed certificate. Then you load the SSC on the WLC and the AP should be able to boot up and join.
