Mac Projector Crashes When exported From Flash CS5.5
Something strange that i noticed, when i had exported a presentation for a Mac,
on a 64 bit windows 7 using flash cs5.5.
the applicaton gets the paths of a few swfs from an XML file
and loads them one after the other.. there is a small bit of interactivity.
.. tested this projecter on various versions of MAC, it crashes often, crashes earlier if i switch applications. what follows here is a part of a report that was generated on an OS X 10.7.3,
works fine if the projector is exported from flash cs5.
i need it to work when exported from flash cs5.5.. any suggestions on what i need to change in my application so that it works when exported from flash cs5.5?
Your help would be appreciated Thanks in Advance

Hitting a specific file size when exporting from Flash CS5
I need to export three banners to .swf from flash and they all need to be under 61K. They all use photographs and are 5-7 seconds long each and the dimentions are 300x250 px, 300x600 px & 728x90 px. Is there any way I can put in the specific file size in the program and make it under 61k? I tried using the publish settings and lowering the quality and even at 40% quality the file size only went down 20KB from 147 to 127. If you cannot do that in the program is there any third party programs that can be used to do this? Thanks for your help!
What you should do is set the Publish Settings to generate a size report. That way you will have a detailed listing of what each element of the design contributes to the file weight. I would guess that the images are going to be the heavy hitters, so you might need to use image software to optimize them as much as possible before importing them into Flash.

Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro
Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro. I am queueing multiple files for export and Media Encoder will crash. The computer system has 32GB of RAM and the videos export fine in Premiere, but that requires exporting each one individually. Each video file is being down converted and some can be quite long (upwards of 3-5 hours). Nothing else is running on the computer that would take up memory.
Any idea why Media Encoder will crash?Try turning off GPU acceleration.

Fullscreen Mac Projector crashes when opening PDF
I'm working on a CD-ROM project that will have Mac and PC projectors. The projectors will open up various PDF files on the CD in an app like Adobe Reader (as opposed to a web browser).
Right now when I test the Mac projector, running in Flash's fullscreen mode, on machines using OS 10.6 and 10.7, the projector crashes intermittently when switching from flash to Acrobat / Reader to view the PDF file.
I'm publishing from a mac using CS5.5 and AS2. When I deactivate fullscreen mode in flash, no crashes occur.
The method for calling the PDF files is Applescript with sample code being:
tell application "Finder"
activate
open document file "argyle-console.pdf" of folder "fscommand" of disk "anees"
end tell
I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue and if they've found a workaround. Thanks in advance. Then you should probably post on the Microsoft Mac forums since it's their software you're having issues with:

Mac Mini crashes when exporting imovie projects
Hi.
When I try to export imovie projects, my Mac Mini crashes. Not ever, just every two or three times.
My system is 10.6.7 and imovie is 11. Can anyone help me? Thanks, I apologize for my bad EnglishThank you, I'll try!
I hope you're right, because is boring to see out of the blue all the screen getting grey and the window that invites you to reboot, without hope... It happens, for example, after two or three succesful exporting projects, then I reboot and go on for another two or three projects and then again... I'm afraid it's a RAM problem, but I'll try to update system and software.
Thank you again -
Netconnection Debugger not tracing when exporting from Flash 8 with Actionscript 2.0
Ok, Sorry for the long post, but given my research , I wanted
to be clear on the problem and what I have done to address it.---
anyone who has gotten the NetConnection Debugger to work with Flash
8 and actionscript 2.0 on a PC, your help will be greatly
appreciated
When I compile a Flash 8 swf with AS 2.0 the it does not seem
to import the class properly to utilize the net connection
debugger.
I spent a considerable amount of time getting it to work on
My Mac, but on the PC , none of my calls to the debugger are
working.
I have a very simple file that has the following code:
import mx.remoting.NetServices;
import mx.remoting.debug.NetDebug;
NetDebug.initialize();
NetDebug.trace("I am here")
I do not get any errors for the imports, and the files are
where they need to be. ( see the end of the message to see the
directory structure for both the mac and the pc versions of this)
When I first installed the remoting components on my
macintosh, the Net Connection Debugger would not work. I eventually
took my 2004 Classes and overwrote the mx.remoting.debug folder in
the
usr/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Flash
8/en/Configuration/Classes/mx/
then after restarting flash and the debugger.swf.. it worked
on the mac.
I have tried the same thing on the PC on three separate
machines.
The latest PC is a brand new clean machine.
These are the steps I have followed:
I installed Flash 8 professional
I installed the remoting components
I created a test file with the code from above
I opened the debugger
I exported the file, ............... nothing traced
I then copied the as Class files from my mac and overwrote
the files in the classes directory for mx.remoting.debug
in both these directories.
c:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application
Data\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\Configuration\Classes\mx\
and in c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\First
Run\Classes\mx\remoting.
After a restart of flash and the debugger I am still not
getting a trace out... I am at a loss. I need this to work, and
someone has to have run into this before.
Here is a list of the files in mx\remoting directories on the
Mac and the PC.

Prepro CS3- crash when export to flash
In Premiere CS3, every time I try to use the Adobe Media Encoder to export to Adobe Flash Video, it crashes as soon as it starts to render; an error message pops up for 1/2 second before the whole program quits:
OMP abort: Initializing libguide.lib, but found libguide40.dll already initialized.
This can cause performance degradation.
Set environment variable KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK=TRUE if you want your program to continue in this case.
Is this the solution? How do I set an environment variable?
Thanks in advance!

Flash CS5.5 crashes when exporting movieclip for Actionscript
Hello,
My Flash CS5.5 crashes when exporting movieclip for Actionscript (select movieclips -> modify -> convert to symbol -> check export for actionscript). I think this only happens when Photoshop CS5 is open.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using Win7 64-bit. The only open programs are Flash, Photoshop, and Firefox.Oddly enough, I opened up Flash again, today, just to see if it was still the same, and it had worked. Everything seemed normal, I opened a new document and started working. Then, out of nowhere it stopped responding again. So I waited for it to respond, it didn't. I closed it from the task manager, and now it's back to the original problem of crashing when I try to create a new document or open an old ontrie
Update: I tried the cleaner, as you'd suggested. Followed all the steps, but to no avail. Think it may have something to do with my machine, and less with the software? -
Prroblems Exporting .MOV files from Flash CS5
I am having trouble exporting my animations created in Flash CS5 (or Macromedia flash 5, or CS3) to .MOV files. I'm having these issues on different platforms (mac and pc) and different operating systems (XP and win 7) - I only get error messages and out of memory errors, even on the fastest computer I have with 4gig of RAM working on a 2mg Flash file.
I just want to convert my Flash files to a format that can play on Youtube and standard DVD players. Also I've tried many converters (flash to video) - not all free (Moyea, Roxio, iWisoft, Winfx Video Converter, Amor, E.M. Magic, etc, etc) - nothing works. The main problems are either the sound is not synched, the playback is choppy, and the quality is awful.
I think my only hope of getting a good video is starting with a good .MOV file exported from Flash. I know the program is supposed to do this.
Any help greatly appreciated.
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WSBC0687D4-42A6-445d-B5FF-8032C7D3A8FF.html#WS6 A15AAE2-C176-4161-BAB6-FB082F63B65BaExporting the video at a slower FPS with all the settings maxed and then speeding it up later may not be the most practical and adding a few extra steps can increase the chances of error...I wasn't willing to maniuplate the frame rate, so I tried with the highest video settings and my file ended up being 10GB in size for a video with 1689 frames, and there were STILL artifacts.
There's also the option of exporting your sequence as individual frames and recombinging them using Quicktime Pro (I found that on another forum), and Quicktime Pro is a pretty cheap program ($20?). Just remember to hide your motion guides and activate your masks (right click on your masks in the timeline and select Show Masks), or they'll show up in your frames and you'll have to start again. Also, when inputting your individual frames, remember to select the correct frame speed to it matches the one that you're working with. From there, you have a complete video clip that you can input into any editing suite (heck, Windows Movie Maker is adequate if you're just putting it on YouTube).
Either way, Flash Professional doesn't appear to be capable of generating a .MOV that works outside of the box on its own, at least not without the addition of a 3rd party plugin. Given the proliferation of animation projects on TV that are animated using Flash, I was thinking that Flash SHOULD have a way to render a .MOV file properly (ie: without dropping frames and leaving behind artifacts because it's taking too long to read the frame), but then, it's best to use the right tools for the job. You can use most of the tools in Creative Suite/Cloud to generate the same layered image, but every single application has a specific purpose:
Photoshop can handle text layouts, vector imagery, and animation, but it's best at manipulation of raster images.
Illustrator can handle text layouts and some manipulation of raster images, but it's best at creating and editing vector images.
InDesign can do some manipulation of raster images (or at least it imports them) and creating/drawing of vector images, but it's best at text layouts for multi-page documents and arranging images.
Flash allows you to layout text, draw image vectors, and manipulate rasters, but its best for animation and interactive content (I draw my characters in Illustrator first then import then in Flash...Flash drawing tools just drive me buggy).
Your video editing suite (and probably Premiere...haven't used Premiere in a long time, so I can't say for sure) can handle some text inputs, does some animation, but it's best for taking existing video and audio clips (from whatever sources) and editing them non-linearly.
I'll need someone in the biz to confirm this, but I do suspect that for studio based Flash animation projects that end up on TV (eg: Teen Titans Go!, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), they wouldn't be generating the show entirely using Flash (laying down soundtrack and dialogue as well) and then exporting to .MOV. It's more likely that they'd be exporting individual clips without audio (either using the slow frame rate method or by exporting individual frames and importing to Quicktime) and using a non-linear video editor to edit the clips and lay down audio tracks accordingly. -
Not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6.
Hi! I am not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6. When I export it the progress bar is showing and says Recording Flash content and nothing happens
I havent exported any videos in the past from Flash. The movie is around 45 seconds and the size is 470KB.
I tried both, the memory and the hard drive.
In the attached image you can see the settings and in the other image you can see the progress bar that remains without something to happen.
I dont mind what type of video to export it can be also .avi but again I have troubles there. It is very large and the animation is distorted.
The animation consist from two scenes. The first one can be exported without any problem but the second one cannot be exported. May be because it has some masks layers and guide layers? -
InDesign Crashes when exporting to InCopy
I support several hundred InDesign/ InCopy users. We have been using this workflow for several years.
Approximately a month ago, we migrated to CS5 (7.0.3). I began to immediately get support calls that InDesign and InCopy were crashing. A few of the calls were that InCopy was crashing when pasting text from MS Office, but he overwhelming majority of the calls are for InDesign crashing when exporting stories to InCopy. If exported one at a time, the stories export fine. When exporting all stories or an entire text layer of stories, it will crash nearly without fail.
Our environment consists of Mac Pro 2x2.66Ghz and 2.8Ghz Intel Core Duo 2 iMacs running 10.5.8. with CS5 7.0.3. This is happening on multiple machines. A few of them have been gone over to verify base OS integrity, permissions repaired, DiskWarrior run etc… to make sure we did not have individual machine issues.
I need resolution for both issues, but the crashing while exporting is so prevalent that my graphic designers are starting to really get aggravated.
I searched the forum for "InCopy", for "export" and for "crash." None of those terms returned a single hit. I can't imagine those terms are not in this forum, so I am working on the assumption that searching must be broken at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any guidance,
KevinTry posting on the InCopy forum. There was another similar report there...

Final Cut Pro: May quit unexpectedly when exporting to Flash
Last Modified: February 13, 2009
Article: TS2593
Symptoms
Final Cut Pro may quit unexpectedly when you export using QuickTime Conversion if you choose Flash Video (FLV) from the Format menu.
Products Affected
Final Cut Pro 6.x, Adobe Creative Suite 3 Flash Video Encoder
Resolution
This can happen if you use the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Flash Video Encoder and Final Cut Pro together. This issue does not occur with the Flash Video Encoder in Adobe Creative Suite 4. To work around the issue:
Choose File > Export > QuickTime Movie.
Be sure to enable Make Movie Self-Contained.
Open the exported movie in QuickTime Player.
Export the movie to Flash from QuickTime Player.

I just installed CS5, so I would think I shouldn't be bothered with an older, problematic Flash Video Encoder. I don't think I should have to convert an MOV file to an FLV file using QuickTime Reader or anything else. Why doesn't it export correctly out of FCPro 7.0.2?oh well.

Quicktime component error exporting from Flash
Hello people
I try to export from Adobe Flash 8 to QuickTime movie, but i get the error on this image:
http://www.junihh.com/goodies/QTerror.jpg
That is the window error in Windows XP (i'm using a Mac skin). I try exporting to QT using in the Flash settings the Flash Player versions 7, 6, 5 and the same.
I need any idea, because i have an animation to convert to video for a presentation, that include music and sound FX.
This is all that i have:
- Windows XP SP1
- Adobe Flash 8
- QuickTime 7.1.3
- No more ideas
Thanks to any help. I appreciate so much.
Imac 333 Mac OS X (10.3.9) Wacom tablet, scanner, external HD, HP printer, keyboard & mouse bluetoothFlash playback has been disabled (security issues) in
7.1.3 and you'll need to turn it back on.
QuickTime Control Panel/Advanced tab. Check the box
that says "Enable playback of Flash tracks". Quit and
relaunch QuickTime for this change to take effect.
When "Publishing" from Flash you need to choose
version 5. Newer formats will not play in QuickTime.
Hello !!!!
Really thank you, your help working very nice. Now i can export without problems.
Thanks again. -
Fonts missing on export from Catalyst CS5
I've created a product demonstration in Catalyst CS5, and one of my slides is an imported SWF. The swf looks perfect inside of catalyst's library preview, however, when I publish or preview (f4) the movie the fonts in the embedded swf are wrong - it defaults to some generic sarif font.
Anyone experienced this problem? Adobe? Suggestions?Never Mind. I figured it out. When exporting a swf from Flash CS5 you have to go into the ActionScript 3 settings (from the Publish Settings screen) and at the bottom under "Runtime Shared Library Settings" select "Merged into Code" for Default Linkage. That embeds everything in the swf, and it plays perfectly when rendered from Catalyst.
Hope that helps somebody, because it was driving me crazy!!!!
