Mac user wants 2 different language versions on one dock ???

A friend of mine just downloaded a second version of Firefox in Irish. He can open both the English and the Irish versions individually without any issues. What he can't do is keep his second, Irish version on the dock. He can open it from some recent folders menu, but when he closes it it disappears from the dock. I don't have the patience to try and learn mac related things right now, so if anyone has some insight on this help would be appreciated!

This still seems to lead to the suggestion that a piece of mac hardware can not have multiple itunes account, could be time to ask for a refund.
This is exactly the case. Because iTunes Match is associated with one and only one iTunes Store account ID the same computer hardware can not be associated with two instances of iTunes Match. Just as the same iDevice hardware can not be associated with more than one iTunes Store account at a time.

In RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML5, is it possible to have 2 different language outputs in one generated output file, similar to WebHelp where the use can select the language from a drop-down list? In Webhelp output you could create multiple Content categories. Is there something similar with the responsive output, or am I forced to have a completely separate set of output files for each language (for example, English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic)?

As Rick, mentions, there's no default way.
Having said that, there's nothing stopping you from doing it yourself. You can add a kind of language selector to the layout and set that for every html5 output. With some JavaScript, you can have the user switch between your outputs. It would look like content categories, but you'll have build it yourself.

  • How can I change the language interface of Firefox 4 Beta to English (on Swedish OS)? Can only find different language versions for 3.6.8.

How can I permanently change the language interface of Firefox 4 Beta to English?
Computer is running on Swedish Windows XP.
Found that the advice on similar questions is to install the language version of the desired language on top of the current version but I haven't found different language versions for 4 Beta, only 3.6.8.
Have also tried to change general.useragent.locale (about:config) to en-US but to no avial.

    Hello,
If somebody has installed the multi-language package is there a possibility the language to be changed without reinstalling the browser?

  • Installation of different language version of CC&B

    hello all,
have any body tried installing CC&B in a different language other an english
Does the standard installation file that we get from the edelvery include the different language versions too ?
Can anybody advice on how exactly to go with an installation of a different language version. I am trying to find a method to install the french version of CC&B2.3

Does the standard installation file that we get from the edelvery include the different language versions too ?No, you have to download the Language pack separately from Metalink. Language packs are specific to CC&B versions.
Can anybody advice on how exactly to go with an installation of a different language version. I am trying to find a method to install the french version of CC&B2.3Follow Note: 973812.1 on Metalink, it has answer to all your questions.
Basically, the pre-requisites are that you install the database with appropriate characterset and execute NEWLANG batch to duplicate already existing language entries, typically ENG.
    e.g. for French language on CC&B v2.2 you'd apply patch 7498832.

  • What is the difference between Mac OS in different languages?

I am thinking about buying a Mac with the new Intel processor. Here in Japan Apple only sells Macs with MacOS X in Japanese. However, my Japanese is far from good enough to use it if it is completely in Japanese. I know that in other Apple Online stores there are several options like in Germany with German and Intl. English MacOS. This is not offered in Japan at this time.
My question though is: I thought MacOS X can be switched to other languages. (System Preferences - International) But the distinction in the online shop made me hesitate. Is it possible to switch any Mac OS X for instance to English (and the other languages mentioned in the technical details web page of MacOSX)? Once switched would it be the same as if bought as International English?
What exactly is the difference between the different MacOSX language versions sold in the Apple Store?
    Thx, Gerald
      Mac OS X (10.4.4)

If I just have to switch it I don't fully understand
why the Apple Store does offer different options with
different MacOSX language. In the German store for
    instance there is
    1. intl. english keyboard with intl.english macos
    2. german keyboard with german macos
    3. german keyboard with intl.english macos
So if it is a simple OS reconfiguration it seems a
little bit overfeatured to offer different options in
the store just to make a little tweak...
Because a new user needs to fill in data, etc when setting up the computer, marketing people want to make sure the user can have their native or favorite language from the first moment, even if after setup it takes about 5 seconds to switch from German to English or vice versa.
The OS is exactly the same, as others have said, and can be switch among 15 languages in less time than it takes to write this sentence. The big difference is usually the keyboard. A German keyboard for example is a lot different than a US one (qwertz instead of qwerty).

  • Download InDesign CC in different language version

    Hello,
I am a complete creative member in the UK. Can I download and use InDesign CC Japanese version?

    Hi nilam,
    Welcome to Adobe Forum,
By default the Creative Cloud application will utilize the language settings for your operating system.  You can find information on what your current language setting is by review the following documentation:
Mac OS: OS X: Changing the language shown in menus and dialogs
Windows 7 and 8: Install or change a display language
If you wish to install the software included in your Creative Cloud Membership to a different language then you will need to make this adjustment in the Creative Cloud application.  Full details on how this can be accomplished can be found at Adjust the install language | Creative Cloud applications | CCM.
If after adjusting the language and installing the Adobe Creative applications you discover them to be in trial mode then it is possible your subscription may not include the requested language.  You can find more details at Creative Cloud products launch in trial mode on non-English operating systems | CCM, CS6.
Finally you can check if you have an English only or Multi-language membership under you account at http://www.adobe.com/.  For more information on how to manage your membership please see Manage your membership | Creative Cloud.
This should help out: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/change-installed-language.htm l

  • Data copy to from different scenario, version to one scenario version

    Hi,
I have this scenario to do.
Copy data from 3 scenario version to one scenario version.
    Scenario1 -> final to TargetScenario -> working
    Scenario2 -> final to TargetScenario -> working
    Scenario3 -> final to TargetScenario -> working
Means 3 scenario data into one
    Sum of all three
I am using Datacopy command to target but this is wiping out previous scenario data
Any thoughts which command to use or else???

    You cannot use DATACOPY here.
Create a calculation script which does fix on working
    Target scenario= scenario1->final+scenario2->final+scenario3->final;

  • What is the best way to manage multiple devices with one iMac - different users with seperate itunes accounts or one mac user with different itune logons and libraries?

    Hello
I have just purchased an imac which I am very happy with.  In our household we also have two iphones (one mine and one husbands) and one ipod (my sons). We all have individual itunes accounts set up on our previous computer (not a mac). We have sepereate apps and music, although there may be the odd occasion where we would like to share a song (if this is possible) across devices.
I am just wondering the best way to manage these devices using the new imac.  Should I create individual accounts to logon to the imac, then from within these launch our own itunes accounts and sync our devices with these.  Or should I be using one version of itunes, logging on to this with our different itunes usernames and storing things in libraries.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I am presuming that we cannot share downloaded apps and music between accounts because of the copyright issue,
Though I'm no copyright lawyer, as long as it's within a household, you can share content among users. Such sharing is, absent specific language preventing it not present in the iTunes Store terms of use, generally considered to be "personal use". So you can share apps and music amongst your users on your computer and with their devices. You just can't give any of that content to friends or relatives who don't live with you.
What I am not clear on, it making sure that this appears in each itunes account - is it easy to find the file storage folders that match the itunes accounts and what would these be?
The iTunes library and files are by default in a user's Home/Music folder. But you don't have to find the folder; in fact putting a file into the folder yourself won't add the file to iTunes. Just drag the file into the iTunes window. iTunes will copy it to the correct location.
    Regards.

  • How do I sync music onto 3 phones with different iclouds but one apple id and one laptop without any problems, each phone user wants different music???

I have recently uploaded some music onto my laptop from cds onto my itunes library. User 1 (B) is a regular user of itunes and has playlists on his iphone from cds. User 2 (c) wanted like a particular cd on his phone and it synced onto iphone ok from the itunes library, also has never used the laptop before to sync normally uses icloud.
User 1(b) later downloaded 5 cds onto itunes and wanted to sync onto iphone but now cannot get the sync to work, however when you ask what is actually on the phone those cds do feature via itunes but are shown in grey on the screen whereas all the other music on the phone is in black.
    FACTs
I only have one laptop and one login on the laptop
All three phones have their own icloud
User 3(K) just uses icloud and doesn't use itunes on the laptop but occasionally buys tracks straight from itunes on her iphone
    QUESTION
Does this mean only one user can login/sync to itunes?
What is the solution to this problem so that all 3 users will be able to log on to itunes with the same login on the laptop to sync cds onto iphones?
    Would Home Sharing help?
    Thanks

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

I am calling a BAPI to generate an order no by sending customer no and not sending the language.
When I execute BAPI in SE37, it works fine but when called from wd java it returns an error.
This is happening only for one language users(Swedish).
Anu pointers regarding this are most welcome.

  • Naive ex Mac user wants to come back!!

I was at the launch of the MAC in 1981 but for professional reasons was forced (eventually) to go the Windows route. I want to come in from the cold (but I still need to have some contact with the Windows environment). I presently have a very old Dell Inspiron 8500 Laptop. Can I have a recommendation as to what my recovery route should be. And does running Windows simulation on an Apple cause much degradation of performance?

Can I have a recommendation as to what my recovery route should be
Not really, as everyone's computing needs are different. Buy a Mac and install Windows on it and see where it takes you.
oes running Windows simulation on an Apple cause much degradation of performance?
Depends on how many resources you devote to the virtual machine.

  • Two different DB version in one server machine, help please

    Hello, greetings.
I have two databases in one server.
One is 10g1 version, currently running. another one I just installed is 10g2 version. They each has it's own home. I mean two versions sit in separate oracle home. They both in window.
However, through sqlplus, toad etc, I can only access 10g1.
How can I access both versions through sqlplus and toad? What do I need to set up ?
    Thanks in advance!

However, through sqlplus, toad etc, I can only
access 10g1.Show us the connect string that you use in SQSLPlus and in TOAD. Don't forget to include the part that tells the client which database to use ...
    >
How can I access both versions through sqlplus and
toad? What do I need to set up ?Each Oracle product has it's own network connection configuration files. These are in ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
The listener.ora configures the piece that listens on the network. Each database must register to the listener. You only need one listener on the machine and each database should register to that listener. To check, run the command line 'lsnrctl status'
In your control panel, set the listener for 19gR1 to start manually (and then never start it)
The tnsnames.ora configures the client. Basically it says 'when yoohoo asks to connect to database blah, that means connect to host boing, talk to the listener on port whatever (usually 1521) and ask for a connection to database service bingo' as in
    blah =
      DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = boing)(PORT =  9876))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = bingo)
)Nearly 100% of the time, the two tnsnames.ora files, one in each ORACLE_HOME, do not contain all the information needed. So when you use the sqlplus from one Oracle Home and try to connect to the other database, you are missing critical pieces of information that are found only in the other ORACLE_HOME
The fix - as others say, is to run netca or netmgr (both available from START menu). Or simply open both tnsnames.ora files and make the match up by adding whatever entries are needed.

  • Different Java version at one maschine

    Hello experts.
I need to test SW with differnt java-versions (1.1.8-1.4). So I will install all version I need. But now the question: how can I easily
switch between the versions? How can I verify that the desired version
is in use (is java -fullversion the only check)?
    Thanx in advance
    Henry

Assuming you are using Windows, just create a batch file for each version. e.g.:
    usejava1.2.bat
    @Echo Off
    set path=c:\jdk1.2.2\bin;%PATH%
    set java_home=c:\jdk1.2.2
java -versionJust replace c:\jdk1.2.2 with the path to your java install, then at the command prompt type usejava1.2 to switch to the relevant version within the current DOS session.
Its probably very simple to do something similar on Unix.

  • Multiple language versions install

I know that I can install an update to InDesign without losing the older versions (I currently have CS2 and CS3 on one of my PCs), but I want to know if this works with different language versions. On another PC, I have the Japanese versions of CS2 and CS3 installed, and want to add the English version of CS5.5. I already know I cannot add an English CS3 without overwriting critical files the Japanese verison requires. But if I add a later version (CS5.5) of the English, will it damage any of the needed Japanese files for the ealrier versions?
The Japanese version has features needed for Japanese typesetting that the English versions do not have and cannot duplicated, which is why I want to be sure to keep it. On the other hand, I do not want to buy the Japense version of CS5.5 at this time but only tne English version.

    Nope, it doesn't. Sigh.

Yes, installing English 5.5 on top of Japanese CS2 will most likely ruin your Japanese install. You really only have two options, here. I use both, they both work pretty well. You can virtualize an OS - for example I can run Japanese ID on WinXP in Parallells on MacOS, or I can run Middle East edition of CS2 in WinXP "XP Mode" on my Windows 7 machine. It's a little bit like the old trick of having a dual-boot or triple-boot machine for multilingual work, but you can just alt-tab over into another OS instead of needing to reboot completely.
The other option (that I can't seem to stop posting about ) is to ditch the Japanese CS2 and just go out and buy World Tools Pro from in-tools.com. That way you can more-or-less do Japanese typesetting in English ID. However, not every single feature of Japanese ID is implemented in World Tools, so check it carefully before you buy, in case something you rely on was not implemented. But I use it on a daily basis, and it's great.
