Magnify sections of a 8x10 document

I am looking for a way to magnify section of a page. I am
okay with the page appearing very small as I am interested in
magnifing a section at a time to give detailed description. Any
advise?

Basically here is how it works. You insert the zoom area and
you get two areas on the screen. One is the area you are
magnifying. The other is the area that will display a larger view
of what the other area is over. The level of magnification is
determined by the difference between the two areas. So if the area
you are zooming is a lot smaller than the area where the larger
view shows, you get more magnification.
You will likely have to just play with it a bit to get the
hang of it. Just create a simple one slide project and experiment
until you are comfortable.

Re. your 1st question. Adding a field to a report is considered to be a report creation APIs (RCAPI). Only the RAS SDK has RCAPIs, so you can not use plain jane crystal APIs. For how to with RAS, see the examples here: NET RAS SDK Samples - Business Intelligence (BusinessObjects) - SCN Wiki

How do I apply different margins to different section in the same document?

In Pages 5, how do I apply different margins to different section in the same document? there are is no layout break like in Pages 4.

Use the Text Format Pane, Layout Tab, Indents.
You could do the same thing by dragging the margin stops on the Ruler.

Hi Raynaju,
Business place is an organizational unit and it below company code level that is primarily used for reporting taxes on sales/purchases.
For that no need to go for validation.Go to the field status and give the Business place & Section Code as required fields.
There is a option in SAP as Document change rules.There give the company code,field name and account type
Now you can change the fileds in posted document itself.
May be this information is useful to you

The issue got resolved. We need to give in MM invoice number not the accounting document invoice number.
Fi invoice number and MM invoice number are availiable in bkpf and MM invoice number will availible in BKPF-AWKEY field.

How can I print out a section of a pages document?

I am helping my dad with his (massive) memoirs. He wants to send individual chapters to friends and erstwhile colleagues, by PDF and snail mail. The chapters are in individual sections. How can he share or print these - without having to specify page numbers? Much obliged for any help.

Well you could chop up the document into individual documents or just Print from page x to y to PDF.
Since your father's friends will most likely have PCs or simply not have Pages, that would be the best format anyway.

Magnifiable Images in a PDF document?

I'm viewing a 3-page PDF document received from elsewhere, using Acrobat 7.0 Standard on a MacBook running OS 10.4.11. The document contains 4 figures. When I run the pointer (the "hand") over 2 of these images, a short horizontal bar with a short arrow pointing downward from it appears inside the hand. Clicking once significantly magnifies the size of the image, up to full screen or full window width. What happens with further clicks is a bit confusing, but there is no further magnification, and eventually a demagnification back to the initial size.
Nothing like this happens with the other two figures, and nothing like this happens if I view the document in Mac Preview. Only limited information on how this PDF document was created is available, except that maybe PowerPoint was involved at some stage.
Any ideas as to what's going on here?

The Acrobat Standard manual speaks of Articles as being comprised of _text_; the objects in the PDF document that magnify when clicked are _images_. The first such image is about half a page wide, and has text wrapped around it on the left; the second image is full page width and thus does not have text wrapped around it. Both magnify when clicked -- but, there is also a somewhat confusing Article-like behavior in which subsequent clicks on the first image eventually end up opening the second image.
However, when I open the View >> Navigation Tabs >> Articles menu item for the document in question, NO Articles are shown in the resulting Articles window.
I'm beginning to think there may be some residual coding associated with the images, or in the PDF file, that somehow triggers garbled Article-related responses that were not intentionally or properly inserted into the file . . . ???

Why won't the header section of my Classic document print?

When I print a Classic document, printing begins at the bottom of the header section. The header section itself and any text therein is just ignored. (The header text is definitely within the page margins and the print margins, and the header dimension appears in the LaserWriter 8 Print dialogue box).
This is a great embarrasment if you are working with pre-printed stationery incorporating letterheads; to achieve the desired result you must add the header dimension to the letterhead dimension to find the insertion point setting for the first line of your document !!
Does anyone have a solution? The only clue that I can offer is that the printer is connected via a USB to parallel converter cable. (And there are no problems with OS X documents).

Hi, Roger. Every printer has a hardware-delimited maximum print area, and that area may in some cases be further restricted by the printer driver used. The position of that defined maximum-print-area rectangle on the page is also controlled by hardware or software or both. Any limitation that is imposed by your printer itself will, of course, not vary from OS X to OS 9 or Classic mode. But if your OS X driver and your OS 9 driver impose different print area restrictions, you'll see different results in Tiger and Classic. And if you're not using any OS 9 driver, as I suspect may be the case, then you may have to conclude that your old Classic apps (isn't WriteNow wonderful? I still use it too) just aren't as compatible as you might like with Classic printing in Tiger, or with your Gimp-Print driver, or with your parallel-to-USB adapter. There's an awful lot in the equation that was undreamed-of in 1994.
If there's no other driver option for you to try, then I strongly suggest buying a new, Mac-compatible printer to replace the old BJ-30, which was never meant to be used with a Mac in the first place.

Setting chapter and sections after importing text document?

I imported a 120-page Word document in Author. The original was 10 chapters and related sections. It came in as a single long chapter. Now I want to manually select a page and set it to be chapter 2, chapter 3, etc., and likewise for selecting a page and setting it to section 2-1, section 2-2, etc.
I can't see how to do this. Adding a chapter always puts it at the end of my 120 pages. If I insert a blank page, I can't set it to be a chapter or section.
Am I missing something, or am I using an incorrect workflow?
Any advice gratefully received.

Update section code in clearing document

while doing trasport posting in f-54 i forgot secction code. it is a mandatory field .when i clearing special gl a/c in f-51 system giving error message section code is not maintined properly .we want to updated that field in document but it was in supress mode. kindly advice me how can i overcome this issue

Its not possible to update the field section code (BSEG-SECCO) since its not allowed in the document change rules line items.
I would suggest reversing the document and reposting again with the section code information....

Programatically shifting X-axis labels in chart section of a .bqy document.

We would like to programatically change some properties like height, width for X-axis labels of a chart in the chart section of the .bqy (Interactive Reporting Studio) document. We don't find the existing properties fit our requirement.

You're right, it shows the day data when I click on the month. Fine, but if it shows the daily data, why doesn't it show the date as well.
As I tried to explain, the data are correct, but the labels are wrong or insufficient. Why do I have only 'Jun-2010' below the bar of a day?
I investigated a little bit further and found that the behaviour changes depending on which month column out of the time dimension I choose.
If I choose 'Month (MON-YYYY)' I get this label on the month chart and on the day chart (the drilled down chart), nothing more.
But if I choose 'Month (YYYYMM)' from the same dimension in the month chart by changing the query in answers, I get an additional label in the day chart showing the day
as YYYYMMDD.
I need to influence this behaviour, but don't know how. I thought the drill down relationship comes from the Business Modell layer, but I don't see how to change things there.
Any idea?

How can I remove section dividers from Pages document?

I would like to remove the section dividers in a Pages document so that all pages are a part of one section, not several. I would like to be able to number the pages consecutively from beginning to end of the document.

Section Breaks are characters, so you can just forward or backward delete them.
You can also set the document to continue numbering from the previous section.

How do I create links in a file like a table of contents to different sections in a .pdf document?

I'm trying to take multiple files and create one large (165 page) document but would like to create links to the different "chapters" within the document.

You may (you can see Groups in the Layers palette with the layer expanded):
1) Ctrl/Cmd+A to select everything and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+G to Ungroup ;
2) ShiftClick the circle to deselect it; if it is still a Group (all of its own), Ungroup again;
3) With the Centre Reference Point ticked in the Transform palette multiply the W or H value by 1.1 (just add *1.1 in the box) and Ctrl/CmdEnter to keep proportions (this is to make sure that they are long enough);
4) Ctrl/Cmd+A to select everything again and Pathfinder>Divide (this will make pie pieces);
5) Drag over the centre with the Direct Selection Tool and press Delete (this will rid you of the inner parts of the pie pieces so you just have the outer rim in pieces).
This should give you the 30 independent curved lines forming the circle, two of them with an extra (original) Anchor Point.

Arabic and Hebrew sections of a .pdf document

I need to rearrage a .pdf that contains Arabic and Hebrew pages. Acrobat will not allow the Arabic pages to be placed anywhere but at the end of the document. I am using Acrobat 7 on a PC with PC InDesign CS3 documents as the source.
Any hints or suggestions?

Linda, did you create these files with InDesign? If so, you should edit them there and not in Acrobat. Besides that, there shouldn't be any problem moving pages, no matter which kind of text they have. What exactly happens when you try to drag the pages to a new location?
