Mail configuration for core hosted mail servers

Hi,
We have configured scot to send emails from SAP to the domain ids in XXXXX.com.
For testing the port condition :-
We checked if port 25 was open on the smtp server. This was the check. devassp1:devadm> telnet 202.162.244.10 25 Trying... Connected to 202.162.244.10. Escape character is '^]'. 220 ESMTP Is this a succesful check to see if the port is open?
Core hosted mail server
Also, the smtp server is co-hosted and the provider is not willing to add the SAP server IP address to the list of authenticated servers on the smtp server. Is there a work around?
In SAP after configuring scot, we get the error message that Internal error: CL_SMTP_RESPONSE ESMTP error code is not known. 554 554 5.7.1 <mailid>: Relay a Message no. XS829 Diagnosis An error occurred in program CL_SMTP_RESPONSE Error text: ESMTP error code is not known. Additional information: 554 554 5.7.1 mailid: Relay a System Response Message processing terminated. Procedure
Please suggest what needs to be done.
Thanks
Vijay

Hi
Looks to me some SMTP server configuration issue, Please have look at below SAP notes
Please check you have defined the below entries in your system profile
icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25,TIMEOUT=300,PROCTIMEOUT=600
Then follow below itmes to further troubleshoot if still issue persists
Note 455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP.Also check
Note 552616 - FAQ: SAPoffice - Sending to external recipients
Note 402907 - SAPconnect: Sending via ESMTP terminates with a dump
Note 751332 - Error sending mails with several recipients
Otherwise, In general you just do the following configuration and nothing else you have to do in SAP application.
First of all check port 25 is open from SAP server to SMtp server
Also check sap server is define as realay agent in SMTP server.
Do the follwoing step.
1. Use transaction SCOT
2. From tope menu: View -> System Status
3. Double Click on SMTP
4. You will get a window and fill in description
5. Tick the "Node in use" box
6. Enter the hostname of the email exchange server
7. Mail port will be 25
8. Click on the button next to Internet called "Set"
9. You will get another window, in the "address area" box, enter *
10. Click the green check button to exit the second window
11. Click the green check button to exit the main window
12. From top menu: Settings -> Default Domain
13. in the small box that appears enter the domain name which is the last part after the email id ,The domain name would be for e.g company.com
14. You need to define a job to process the email, from top menu: View -> Jobs
15. From top menu: Job -> Create
16. Enter a name
17. Click on "INT" in the list then "Schedule job" button
18. Enter start date and time, then click on "Schedule Periodically" button
19. Enter something like every 10 minutes.
20. the configuraton is now complete. To test it, you need to have an email defined in your user id properties. Use SU01 for that.
21. Use transaction SO00
22. Put Title, and text in the body, then enter your email address below, the recepient type would be "internet address"
23. After a maximum of 10 minutes you should get the email address.
I hope this helps you.

  • Configure e-mail servers?

    I'm at the library and trying to send OUT e-mail but it says the servers aren't correct. I can recieve mail, just not send. It says I can configure the mail servers in settings/email but I see no place for this. Please help.

    I'm wondering if it's password related because it keeps saying that mail won't work because the password is wrong. However, when I go to the iCloud account it says password is fine.... There is also more than one iCloud listed in my mail, which only confuses matters more... Each of them seems to have the right password.
    I used to have Apple ".me mail" which I could login and access straight from the net. Now I guess it's called iCloud but when I go to iCloud.com it forces you to download to your device. Is there no way to read/write icloud email via the Internet anymore?

    if you know the password of the account, i think you can also access the mail using mail client, like you use outlook to deal with your company mail daily.

  • Mail.app:  non-parallel structure for incoming versus outgoing servers

    Manual setup of POP accounts has a non-parallel structure for incoming versus outgoing servers.
    To review:  for each account you must enter setup data for a single POP  (incoming) server, but you are offered multiple choices for SMTP (outgoing)  servers, and Mail.app supports sharing a single SMTP server setup among multiple accounts.
    Why?
    Why not just offer distinct setups for each account in each direction?   There must be a good reason for all this extra structure…. yes?
    More specifically:  What are implications for multiple accounts, e.g.
          [email protected]
          [email protected]
    using the same outgoing server?   It seems to me that Mail.app encourages you use a single SMTP server setup for both, am I correct?    But this seems to undermine proper security. I think  each account should uses its own credentials for both incoming and outgoing, yes?
    In Mail.app V8.2, shipped with MacOS 10.10.2, Mail.app offers an opportunity to set up a second distinct SMTP server (in the above example, for [email protected]) but the text boxes for username and password refuse to accept text.  Is this just my experience, a local problem?  Or is it observed by others?  If so… a new way of enforcing sharing of SMTP setups, or  a bug?
    I'm very curious about the long-term Mail.app design philosophy in this regard, but this is not just curiosity:  I'm having trouble with multiple email accounts after upgrading to 10.10.2  In each case, when I try to set up multiple accounts on a single mail server.
    I've done quite a bit of searching for explanations of mail.app's design, without success.  It is very possible I've missed some relevant explanations.  If so, please provide links and accept my apologies.
    TIA

  • HT201320 what about when it asks for incoming and out going mail servers? what do you write there?

    i am trying to link one of my accounts into my phone and am asked for incoming and outgoing mail servers. whats that then?

    Your Internet service provider maintains the servers for sending and receiving email. Ask them for the prospered names of the servers and whether you need to enter your password and user name to send mail.
    If you use gmail or some other web type email service they should provide that information to you as well.

  • How to change my password and my incoming and outgoing mail servers

    Hi I have used Outlook Express for years and I know how to configure "everything" I need within the settings pages because their settings pages are all "logical" with everything out in the open.
    However, Thunderbird "hides" their settings behind buttons and confusing screens.
    There are many tutorials that explain how to set up Thunderbird from the beginning, and show how to set up a new email account. But I have not been able to find a tutorial on how to change my email account password "after" I have been using Thunderbird for awhile.
    I also see no way to change the incoming and outgoing servers. For example, I have changed from one hosting company to another hosting company and I need to use the new mail servers from the new hosting company and I do not see any tutorials anyplace that cover ongoing or day-to-day activities with Thunderbird.
    Can you please change your settings screens to make Thunderbird easier for new people to find these normal and necessary items?
    Also can you please point me to a tutorial that shows me how to change my email account password and change my incoming and outgoing servers?
    Thanks so much!
    Edward

  • Mail Adapter - Multiple mail ID and multiple mail servers config.

    Hi All
    I am doing BPM synch scenario in which i get the response from SAP box and send the response via email adapter. I am using mail.xsd and doing mail config. in message mapping. However in the TO field i am able to give only one email ID. If i give multiple email ID's mail is not received. I tried comma and semi-colon as separator. Still not working? I have two questions in configuring TO option:
    1) How to send to multiple id's? I am using Lotus Notes.
    2)How to send to multiple mail servers? I have to send to Lotus Notes id's and outlook express id's also simultaneously.
    Thanks for your help in advance
    Warm Regards
    Samuel

    Hi,
    Please find here with some observations about it,
    1) How to send to multiple id's? I am using Lotus Notes.
    If you have specified an IMAP server under URL, the message is saved in the specified folder but is not sent to the receiver specified under To.
    Then even if Under To, you had specified the e-mail address that will receive the message would be separated with a semicolon. It will not work.
    Please verify about it .

  • Anyone having issues with Self-Signed SSL-certs on mail servers?

    Can't get it to allow connecting via SSL to outgoing mail servers with self-signed certificates. Problem did not exist in earlier versions of OSX as far as I know.

    YES. I have a cert from lunarpages, where my accounts are hosted. I'm seeing two issues, and they are different for the different servers at lunarpages:
    1. Multiple logins from different machines --> problem
    2. Multiple accounts accessing same server --> problem
    So, with 1 account on one of lunarpages machines, I can have several machines running Mail with ssl on at the same time and get no problem (that is, once I've saved the certificate and marked it trusted). But as soon as another account (my wife's email on the same domain, for example) tries to access the same server, it gives me an ssl error, a choice to save that cert. and if I do then my account will generate the ssl error. Seems like only one account can have the certificate.
    On another account on a different lunarpages machine, I can't have several machines running Mail at the same time, only the first will get through and the rest will give an SSL error.
    Lunarpages says they can't find a problem, though my last email with them told me to use TLS rather than SSL. Of course, there's no way to specify that in Mail anyway, but I'd thought Mail automatically used TLS anyway, and I'm running the right ports (587 for smtp, 993 for incoming).
    Feels like it's an issue with Mail or the OS's handling of certificates. Any clues on a fix will be most appreciated as this is getting annoying. I've had to turn off SSL on my wife's and daughter's accounts just so that I can use it. And I have to quit Mail so that on the other account I can get my mail on my iPhone. Having to quit Mail on my main work machine is frustrating -- if I forget to do it I can't get mail.

  • Sending to multiple mail servers

    Hello,
    Can Ironport be configured to send email to multiple mail servers? I don't mean load balancing or failover. What I want is for the Ironport to send the same inbound email to two separate mail servers.
    Regards,
    Xavier

    I think you need to use a message filter. Something like this:
    bccMessageFilter:
    if ((mail-from == '^xavier$') and (rcpt-to == '^lloyd$'))  {
         bcc('[email protected]', '[Bcc] $Subject', '$EnvelopeFrom', '[IP/hostname of alt mail server]');
    Note: I haven't tested this.

  • How can I redirect all messages to 2 another mail servers?

    Hi all
    ./imsimta version
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7.3-11.01 64bit (built Sep 1 2009)
    libimta.so 7.3-11.01 64bit (built 19:54:45, Sep 1 2009)
    I wanted to redirect all messages(in and out) to another mail server, I configured as follows,
    - imta.cnf
    ! tcp_local
    tcp_local smtp mx single_sys ....... sourcefilter file:///backother.filter
    ! tcp_intranet
    tcp_intranet smtp mx single_sys ....... sourcefilter file:///backother.filter
    - backother.filter
    require ["fileinto"];
    if address :all :matches ["From"]["*"]{
    redirect "[email protected]";
    keep;
    stop;
    One e-mail account receives all messgaes and those messages will be kept in sender's or receiver's mail storage.
    I want , however, redirect all messages 2 or 3 mail servers.
    I tried several things to do this include edit backother.filter(this is written in Sieve ), but I failed.
    Is there any way to redirect messages to another mail servers?
    Any way would be good , using sieve script, make antoher channel or channel keyword
    Thanks

    Redirecting the message means it will not be delivered to the original recipient.I know so I wrote 'keep' keyword to deliver messages to the original recipient.
    capture "[email protected]";
    I tested it but the capture's behavior was very weird, subject had changed to something like,'deliverd status notice', sender had changed to postmaster and additional notice messgae inserted into mail body.The default sieve capture action encapsulates the email to keep a copy of both the envelope information and the original message. MS7u3 also supports the Exchange journal encapsulation format through the addition of the ":journal" parameter.
    I edited 'capture' like this..
    capture :message "[email protected]";
    The ":message" flag removes the encapsulation -- therefore you will have no idea of who the original sender/recipients were as the envelope information has been discarded.
    It worked fine. It was same as the result of 'redirect'.
    but the following line, sent10 messages to each recipients.(receive_01,receive_02)
    capture :message "[email protected],[email protected]";
    maybe there was some 'loop' actions happened.The email produced by the capture sieve action is being "captured" which is resulting in a loop. You can stop this by adding an envelope test e.g.
    require ["envelope"];
    if not envelope :is ["to"] ["[email protected]","[email protected]"]
            capture :message "[email protected]";
            capture :message "[email protected]";
    }Regards,
    Shane.

  • How do I set up a mail server and SMTP server to send messages to other mail servers at mavericks

    How do I set up a mail server and SMTP server to send messages to other mail servers at mavericks

    You need to get the settings for your email from your email provider and enter them in Internet Accounts (System Preferences). Many of the common systems are already available, all you need is a password and an email address to set them up.

  • What is it with the application "mail" and the Yahoo mail servers that is in conflict all the time. We have reconfigured the settings and done everything possible and the "mail" application is still conflicted.... Running Lion 10.7.4

    I know it is a pretty long question and am unsure if it can be answered, but have had just a lot of trouble with the Yahoo mail servers... Where could a man go and get the mail application, I can not find it in the app store. It is my thought maybe to just replace the app I have with another mail application and reconfigure everything and go from there. But I do not know where the mail application can be found.
