Mail fails to work properly after migrating to a new iMac

I am helping someone with an issue with their iMacs. They recently bought one of the new models and I did the transfer from the old G5 OS X v10.5 machine to the new one. Everything seems to have gone well - except Mail does not work on EITHER computer now.
I have been working with the old one (10.5) mostly as it is their secondary computer now; but it is doing it on both of them. It all used to work just fine. Now they are getting:
Mail stops coming in after "x" number of messages - x depends on the e-mail account. But it seems to stop on the same number on both systems. You can watch the speed drop to 0 kb/s
It is loading duplicate e-mails on both accounts for messages prior to "x".
I have removed the com.Apple.Mail.plist file and rebuilt the account.
I have removed the com.Apple.Mail.plist file and the Envelope Index file.
Nothing seems to help. Also these are SBC Global E-mail accounts through AOL. Mail complains about the certificates each time but I connect anyhow.
I am wondering if anyone else has had these problems or if they are actually an SBC / Yahoo issue.

The old iMac is OS X 10.5 with mail 3.6, the new one is the latest.
Mail worked fine until we used the import tool on the new one.
I hooked up a PowerMac he replaced the "old" iMac with and it still recieves e-mail just fine. So it is not the actual e-mail accounts themselves on the server. I duplicated the account setting exactly on both the new and old iMac and they still do the same thing.
What can possibly get messed up by the built in system copy that I have not looked at?????

After migration all my Data from my old imac to my new macbook pro (both running on OS Maverick) with migration assistant, the trackpad of the new macbook pro doesn´t work properly any more.
But the trackpad had worked properly before the data migration!
But now the trackpad feature of scrolling up and down with two fingers doesn´t work. (Other features are ok.)

Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

ActiveSync is not working properly after migrating to new Exchange 2013 SP1 server?!

Few weeks ago we have added new Exchange 2013 SP1 onto our existing Exchange 2007 environment. I have migrated my mailbox to the new Ex2013 server. Everything (send/receive - internally/externally, OWA, OutlookAnywhere) for me and the existing Ex2007
users works fine. The only thing I have trouble with is the ActiveSync! After migrating to the new Ex2013 server my phone stops getting new emails…, existing Ex2007 users don’t have any problems with their mobile phones.
I did ActiveSync test for my user account with ActiveSync Tester and here is what I have:
As you can see from the error above ActiveSync Tester detects ActiveSync on Ex2013 server however something wrong there with form-based auth?! I can’t see any differences in settings for ActiveSync virtual folders in Ex2007 and Ex2013

Check if the Exchange Servers group does not have the appropriate permission to the mailbox object in Active Directory.
To check whether inheritance is disabled on the user:
1.Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
2.On the menu at the top of the console, click View > Advanced Features.
3.Locate and right-click the mailbox account in the console, and then click Properties.
4.Click the Security tab.
5.Click Advanced.
6.Make sure that the check box for "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is selected.

Mail no longer working properly after update

Since the recent mail update, my work email (which is run by google) has been a disaster (believe me, that's not hyperbole). Deleted emails, emails with a different person indicated in the inbox but when you open it it's a completely different email chain. I didn't have any of the problems with my gmail or my work account before. Anyone else experiencing problems after the update?
I don't have the problem on my phone or iPad.

My Mail is not working properly after installing Lion

I just installed Lion and my mail is not working. It keeps asking me for the password and says it can not go online. All my mail folders have disapeard and with them my saved emails! Also the Back to Mac is not able to take my password either.

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

Why Mail does not work properly after updated to Mountain Lion?

I updated to ML two days ago and my Mail is not working. I can read but cannot reply because there is no cursor. Restarted a few times, no change. Anybody has the same problem??

I forgot to mention (and add a new level of strangeness) that Mail is retreiving all of my messages from my personal (AT&T) account without issue.
And I just discovered an even bigger problem: all of my emails from my Sent and other folders from my work account are completely gone!
I may have no choice but to revert to my Lion system as of yesteday, before I installed ML.

InDesign CS6 won't open after migration to a new iMac. Adobe App Mgr calls it a "Trial" version?

I just migrated my entire contents from one Mac to new iMac. I was able to open and use InDesign for the first day or so, but now when I do, The Adobe Application Manager tells me the version I have is a "Trial" version. I am not likely to be transferring to CC version, so within that limitation (Staying with CS6) how do I correct this issue, so I can use the software I paid for?

Time capsule not working properly after moving to a new house

Hello,
I have a macbook pro and a refurbished time capsule 2tb. I purchased both in 2013 and the time capsule at that time was used as both a wireless router for our house and my back up.I recently moved and didn't have access to the time capsule for over a month. Once I settled into the new house I plugged the power cable and internet connection into the time capsule and assumed that automatically it would keep working. It appears that it is backing up my system as I can pull up the application and see appropriate in-time documents however it consistently has a slow orange light blinking. I am not currently using it as a router as we have xfinity and have a different router for the house and when I try to use the time machine instead it cannot connect.
My internet connection is fine and I would like to leave it as is. It also appears the back up function is working for my mac. The question is, does the orange blinking light matter and or is it indicating that I am improperly using the machine? It it because the ethernet cable is attached and can the time capsule work without this?
I have tried resetting the capsule with the 10seconds hold on the reset button etc as seen on other posts but the orange light remains.

The question is, does the orange blinking light matter and or is it indicating that I am improperly using the machine?
The amber light is like the "Check Engine" light in your car. It blinks for a reason......the Time Capsule has a message for you.
That message might be that there is a firmware update available for the Time Capsule that needs to be installed....or....that AirPort Utility has detected that the Time Capsule is not configured correctly to work with the Xfinity router that you are now using.
To see the message.....open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the amber dot
Then look for a Status setting, and click on the small amber dot there
A message will appear to tell you why the Time Capsule is whining, along with a suggested action to fix the issue.
If you are still having difficult, we for you to post back with the exact message that you see.

CS3 crashed after migrating to a new iMac

How do I reinstall CS3 after it crashed from the Migration Assistant from an old Mac to a new Mac? When I try to run the CD, get an error message stating that "resources are missing" and the installer quits.
I t/w Adobe tech and they weren't even familiar with the products that came with creative suite 3 design premium and were of no help.
I tried launching Photoshop and it asked for my s/n which I inputted and it said my s/n was invalid. I asked adobe tech how to find the hidden file on the mac drive that stores that secret info so I could erase it and try again. No response. All tech could say is drag the cs icons to the trash then the install would work. It didn't.
Any one have any ideas?

Migrations assistant was your first mistake. Clean up the mess with the CS5 Clean Tool (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html ) and then reinstall using the original media.
Note that CS3 may prove problematic on Lion.

Try to force quit the mail app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
Failing that, go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and remove your account info then put it back in and see if that works

My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.

Let's help solve this mystery together! Is your screen freezing after every reboot? Is there any physical/liquid damage on the device? When did this issue begin? Did you notice this after a recent update or application download?

Mail no longer working properly

Since I installed OS Mavericks, Mail is not working properly. I have an IMAP connection with two accounts, one of which is iCloud. The folders are displaying properly and outgoing mail is OK. Incoming mail to both accounts, as displayed in the browser,however, is not detected and displayed by Mail. I haven't made any changes to my account settings. Does anyone else have this problem?

I most often do not restart my new MBPro .... 10.9.5 ..... but happened to a day or so ago, and it immediately began to block / problem with email .... I waited to see if it sorted out, but no .....
I get he server “p06-imap.mail.me.com” cannot be contacted on port 993 ..... then deselected SSL and that did not help, so went back and selected it again .... and again not working .....
I can see my stuff "online" but I do not want to do it that way EVER .....
your "deselect mail" in ICloud preferences .... did nothing good for me .... any other thoughts Linc ?? in fact, some hundreds of in and sent emails did not show up .... I'm hoping they are going to when this gets fixed .... but hey, ..... right now I'm NOT in business ....
