Mail is Frozen because of outgoing attachment

Yikes..I was trying to send an e-mail with a very large video file. Too large obviously. Anyway..it's stuck in my OUTGOING mailbox and every time I open mail I see "configuring mail headers"..or "sorting messages" and I get the please wait color wheel..or whatever it's called.
I've tried erasing the message..and moving it to another box...it doesn't work. First of all, I have to move VERY quickly to do anything as it freezes after 10 or 15 seconds as it tries to do SOMETHING with the message. Even if I can erase it, or move it..the file seems to regenerate itself..or copy itself back to the outgoing box.
I'm stuck. HELP!!!!!!

I tried to send a 103MB Picture to my daughter just yesterday... it went into it, and was sending for close to 15 minutes. I figured it was too big but could not reverse the process. So I let it go... and go..... and go. About a half hour later a screen came up from my e-mail provider that said I had exceeded their limit (a 1 with many zero's), and the message would not be sent.
So I shrunk down the picture to 1.6MB and sent it... that one went.
It is just to wait for the timeout. Or, like you say, you have 10 seconds to go Offline. The only trouble with this, is next time it starts from the beginning again every time you restart. Just minimize it with the yellow button in the upper left corner in that 10 seconds and let it go... and go, while you do other things on the computer. It will either succeed in sending it, or will be stopped by your provider (when it hits "Their" limit), or will time out. Give it time.
It can 'Hang-Up' too, but we can address that if it happens. As long as it is trying and getting some progress, let it be.

If you go to this part of OTN you will find the official Oracle UTL_SMTP demo, which includes attachments:

Getting a background is slightly trickier. The UTL_SMTP package is for primarily sending text e-mails, whereas images require HTML e-mail. I suggest you look at the structure of a sample HTML e-mail and see if you can write the necessary HTML strings in the DATA parameter. Otherwise you'll need to investigate handcrafting a program based on the UTL_TCP package.

If this seems like a lot of trouble I agree and urge you not to bother. HTML e-mail is one of the curses of the modern age, not least because it is frequently used by purveyors of viruses. I have a filter on my Outlook client that strips out all the HTML in any e-mail I receive, which means I get lots of e-mails rendered unreadable by the inclusion of <HTML> tags. But who cares, they're mostly spam anyway. In fact, the use of HTML in an e-mail is almost always an indicator of the irrelevance of its content.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or quit mail and restart.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Mail.app: I can't send attachment with "space" in filename

Hi.
I've this kind of problem. I think it is Mail.app problem. The mail isn't sent if the attachment's filename contains "space" (eg: "file name.pdf").
The same email is sent finw if I use Thunderbird with the same SMTP server (Leopard Server) and from the same machine.
If the recipinets in local (not relayed over internet) it works well. Otherwise the SMTP server tell me it have lost connection whith relay server (ISP SMTP server).
I've used Lotus domino Server as SMTP server with the same result.
If I cut the "space" (' ') in the attachment's filename Mail.app works fine as well.

There is a bug which causes the filenames of attachments with a space or an accented character in the name to have characters appended to the filename extension; it may be that it also sometimes stops the attachment from sending. But other people have reported problems with mails with attachments not sending regardless of the filename, so I think the next software update will see some fixes.
Meanwhile, don't use spaces!

There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .

It's a phishing attempt to get your account id and password, the 'validate' link on that page isn't an Apple website (there are similar phishing attempts regularly posted on here) - you could forward the email to Apple : [email protected]

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!

Apple Mail and gmail bug when sending attachment?

And now for my own Mail question. Wondering if others have run into this bug?
Mac OS 10.5 MacBook Pro.
There seems to be a bug when trying to send Mail with an attachment (via a gmail account).
Over and over, Mail just hangs there.
But it works when:
1. Using Mail, the same email can be sent when I Remove the attachment.
2. Skipping Mail, and using gmail itself, the email and attachment are sent within seconds.
2. Email with attachment can also be sent from another email service (such as Earthlink).
Only when I am using Apple Mail, sending via gmail, With an attachment, is there a hitch.

Perhaps this problem is confined to Mail 3.0 and later, and Leopard. I cannot send attachments using gmail as the smtp server. I can log in to my gmail account, download an attachment, and send, with no problem as Ross has experienced. I get an eternal hang when trying to send the same message with an attachment from Mail. Any solutions yet? Thanks!

Mail is Frozen

I opened too many emails and now Mac Mail is frozen. If I force quit and reopen the app Mail automatically opens all the emails that were open in the previous session and it's still frozen. Is there a way to open Mail without it opening all the emails that were open in the previous session?

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

Hello Everybody,
I have recently come across a requirement in which I am supposed to send mails with csv file as an attachment through oracle(SQL SCripts / Stored Procedure) .
The contents of the csv file are to be retreived from the Database as well as the content of the mail and to whom it needs to be sent has also to be picked up from the database.
Can somebody suggest me with a suitable code for the same?

Mail body from SBWP always as attachment

Hi there,
I want to send simple mails from Business Workplace to external users (internet address).
The problem is, that the body always comes as attachment (txt-file) with the mail to the user. Not as body text in his mail client.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hello Bernd,
It is working as design. If you use the disclosure, than it will be
put in the body, and all previous mail parts will be sent as attachment.
The reason behind is, that SAP do not want to modify the original body
of the mail.
If you want to have a different behaviour, than you can design an own
send program, where you put the disclaimer in the body itself.
