Mail - MBP works, iMac doesn't with identical settings

I recently purchased a new retina iMac, and I've spent about 5.5 hours trying to get ONE email account to work on it.  It's a workspace email, from GoDaddy.com that is connected to my website hosted by them.  The settings are identical to my Late 2011 Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPhone, which send and receive mail fine using this account.  I've deleted and added it as a new account 3 times, verified and re-verified the POP and SMTP server settings and usernames/passwords for the account.  POP is working (mostly), occasionally connecting and disconnecting randomly without any changes when looking at the Connection Doctor.  SMTP is always red and hasn't worked at all yet, so that's my main issue.  My Gmail, and iCloud accounts work fine on the iMac, so it's just this one account that's having issues.  I've done all I know to do, as it seems like it "should" be working, since I've set this same account up on 3 other apple devices with the same settings and they have no issues.  Is there anywhere else to check and see what's going on, or what the problem may be?  I did notice one weird thing, the "check again" button is greyed out on my iMac's Connection Doctor, but it's not on my MBP.  Both the iMac and MBP are running OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite and Mail 8.2 (2070.6).

Okay, so I checked their support site and it seems Go Daddy is having server issues this morning, so maybe that has something to do with it.  It's still odd that 3 of my 4 devices work with the same settings, although they were set up prior to this morning. 
Is there a way to copy a mail account's settings from one Mac to another?  If I could just copy what's working on my MBP to the iMac, maybe that would work.
I don't want to copy the entire mail folder, if possible, b/c I've done that before and it causes other issues that I don't really want to deal with (you can't delete your email accounts from Mail and they're not listed under Internet Accounts in settings, for instance).

    All of a sudden I am getting an error for my POP mail that says the POP server does not support "X-APOP authentication". I didn't change any settings and I haven't been able to receive any of my POP mail since Sunday. Any ideas?

    This error is likely due to a change in the authentication settings in the affected email account. Try this:
    Click Settings
    Click Mail
    Click the affected account
    Click Advanced
    Look at Authentication - it should be PASSWORD. If it's MD5, change it to PASSWORD.
    Use the dark blue icon at the top to go back twice after you changed it back to PASSWORD.
    Hit home and check your mail - should work fine now.

  • How can I create projects with identical settings?

    Hi,
    I'm using FM10 and RH9 and have just completed my first project of generating WebHelp output
    from a framemaker book. Hopefully, completed subeject to feedback...
    I now have three other manuals to produce, much larger and more detailed, but with almost
    identical settings. What is the easiest way to ensure that I keep all the settings I've made in
    RH in the new projects, without duplicating all the effort. Could anyone pass on any tips please.
    Also, can anyone let me know if there's anything I should be careful to avoid when trying to
    duplicate settings for projects.

    And now, for an answer to the question!
    Basically you would just copy your desired project to a new folder. Then rename it. Then you would re-link to the new Frame stuff and do as Jeff suggested and use an ISF. (I think)
    I'm a bit confused with the ISF bit, so others will have to guide you on that aspect.

  • TS1591 My work iMac doesn't recognize my iPhone 4s.

    My iPhone 4s works perfectly with my home iMac and but recently my iMac at work has stopped recognizing it. It doesn't show up in iPhoto, iTunes, nothing. Doesn't draw a charge when plugged in to my work computer, either. It was working fine up to the last few days. Same result no matter what USB port I use, and we've tested it with more than one cord. Also did a total software update with a full restart. Now running iTunes 10.6.3 with OS 10.7.4.

    If the 2 computers have the correct cable connections, try the Target Disk Mode.

  • ADF Tree Target Data Source works badly(doesn't with certain circumstances)

    On my ADF page I have an af:TreeTable. It exposes 3 levels of hierarchy.
    The DataModel is:
    ComponentVO
    - ParameterVO
    - - IndexVO
    All 3 are based on ComponentEO entity.
    There are also 3 dependant tables on the page, which shows those 3 VOs.
    I want the selection in tree to change current row in all three tables.
    I'm trying to use Target Data Source feature in a tree binding.
    For each level of the tree I specified a target data source like "${bindings.ComponentView1Iterator}".
    Also added a partialTrigger attributes to tables to be refreshed upon tree selection.
    At runtime I see this feature work almost good.
    I click the tree nodes and see all three tables updating current row but there is a situation when they don't.
    Say, we have a following node structure:
    c1
    - p1
    - - i11
    - - i12
    - p2
    - - i21
    When I select i21 and trying to switch to i11 directly (without clicking p1) nothing happens.
    It seems Target Data Source feature doesn't work on parent nodes having only one child.
    I've tried removing PartialTriggers, changing ChangeEventPolicy... no luck.
    Could someone help coping with the problem?

  • Static IP works, DHCP doesn't with road runner

    The boss has a road runner cable modem in his office. He is directed connected from port 2. I ran a wire from port 1 to the downstairs and connected it to a WRT54G. I did this so people downstairs could get wireless access. No one is wire connected to the router.
    If I set up the router as DHCP, everyone can see the WRT54G but cannot get internet connectivity. Since we do have a static IP, I set that up in the WRT54G and everyone can connect. That is until the boss uses his machine.
    I spoke with Road Runner and they said the cable modem is set up for dynamic IP but we do have a static IP. The best I can decipher is that once the boss signs on the cable modem goes back to dynamic.
    But my question is why doesn't the DHCP work? If I unplug the wire from the WRT54G and plug straight into my laptop, it works fines.
    Of course Road Runner is blaming the Linksys as the problem.

    Will you please let me know when you connect 2 computer from the 2 Ports on the Modem are you able to go online from both the Computer at a time.....if yes then you have to configure the Router....if No then You have to connect the Modem to the Internet Port of the Router and configure it accordingly...while configuring make sure you have your computer connected to any one of the 4 ports on the Router.
    follow the Steps as Follows:-
    Open the set up page of the router by launching an Internet Explorer Browser and type the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field empty and provide password as admin and click on ok.
    On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
    on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
    button.
    Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
    - Click on enable
    Click Clone your PC's Mac & click save settings
    Check Internet  IP on Status page of router ....
    If getting Valid IP .... try going online
    If not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then again check the Internet IP address by login into the Setup page of the Router....checked the Internet IP Address....

    Thanks for your suggestions.  Now that I notice, the authorization required line is missing, and the profile file seems to be corrupted. so I'm going to try dun- and reinstalling T'bird.

  • After Effects CC 2014.0.2 rendering slower than previous version with identical settings

    Is this a known issue? Can't find confirmation just some mention of it.
    I'm on an 27" iMac with 32GB Ram and SSD. Latest OSX. Latest After Effects.
    I first noticed after accidentally opening a file in CC2014 when asked to supply a client a render. It takes almost 3 times longer to render a file. I've checked preferences on latest on and previous version of AE and everything seems identical. Am I going mad?
    I guess I could stay on the previous version for a while but hardly ideal as I'm paying for access to the latest versions and need to move up eventually.
    Help much appreciated.

    Yes everything is identical. I setup a file ready to render and opened it in each version and rendered. I did this with an old large project file and also a new test file with a very simple 2 minute loop of a square moving left to right.
    Beginning to hope the upcoming update fixes it somehow though would prefer to fix and learn something from this...

  • HT4864 I have huge and returning problems with iCloud. I cannot send e.mails and there is nothing wrong with my settings. It started yesterday. Does anyone no the reason?

    What is wrong with Apple. This is the third time during autumn, that I experience problems with icloud. Apparently yesterday once again there was an outage with icloud and the problem was solved, but NO it is not solved. I still can not send e.mails and I am probably not the only one. Each time I talk to a technician from Apple, the only thing they do is to uninstall my icloud and reinstall it again. With no results. A waste of time. Please make your system work and give a better support. Who do I call to get a proper assistance???
    And why can I not select icloud under my products??

    Could be many things, we should start with this...

    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • Imac has restarted with default settings?

    i  was  downloading flash player update  and did ,  then was asked to  restart firefox  which i did  then  the desktop  lost  all  icons  and  screen  looked like it did  when i  took it  out of the box  2 years ago,   all  music  is lost and recent photos  in iphoto are gone.   what  happened

    Which site did you use to download from? The official Adobe site?

  • Apps disappear when I sync with my work imac, reappear when I sync at home

    Subject says it all really. I've bought a bunch of apps which are fine as long as I don't sync at my work pc, as soon as I do they all disappear until I resync at home. I assume this is because my work imac doesn't recognise them as apps that I've purchased, can anyone advise me how I can resolve this?

    The Transfer Purchases option can be found under the File menu, or by ctrl-clicking the iPhone (right-click on PC) in the devices list. Your work computer, not having the apps, is possibly removing them during the sync, and they are being replaced by the home computer. By having the apps on both machines you sync to you shouldn't have the problem.
    Also, you might want to try this on your work computer: After the iPhone is connected, choose the Applications tab from the iPhone summary screen, and turn off app syncing from that computer. Might solve the problem without transferring all the apps.

    Mail stopped working and indicated fault with regard to IMAP settings. These have not been changed and always worked. The respective web and mobile interfaces work without issues.

  • Lion 10.7 / pop mail not working...

    on an intel mac pro... pop mail not working... problems with 110 port connecting to server... any suggestions?

    The only possible way to get my mail working with Mac OS X 10.7.4 was to use Thunderbird (latest version, 13) instead of Apple Mail. I don't know if this was related to my ISP only but I'm surprised that there aren't more discussions about this problem. Apparently, it is very widespread from what my ISP said. They said there is a problem with (or change in) the way Apple Mail handles POP accounts under Mac OS X 10.7.x. They are getting dozens of calls about it every day. My POP account, which worked perfectly under Mac OS X 10.6.8, simply would not retrieve mail under Mac OS X 10.7.4 using the exact same settings. I tried absolutely everything that I could find on the Internet to resolve the problem in order to continue to use Apple Mail.
    So for anyone else experiencing this problem, forget Apple Mail. Download Thunderbird and set up your POP account exactly as it was set up under Snow Leopard and your problem will be solved. Looks like Apple has some fixing to do. This is unacceptable, regardless of what Apple's excuse is or whatever their reason was for making this change.

  • My Mail application is rejecting my password even though I'm putting it in correctly. Mail is working fine on my iPad and iPhone but not my iMac so it must be something to do with the Mail settings on my desktop. My software is up to date.  Can you help?

    I have an iMac, operating system 10.7.4 with up to date software. My mail application is rejecting my password even though I know I am putting it in correctly. I have an ipad and iphone and the mail application is working fine on them. On my desktop however I cannot receive or send mail. I think it must be something to do with the settings but cannot work out what. I have contacted BT who provides my email and internet. As I have another email address with them that is working correctly they believe it is a problem with mail rather than with them. Please can you help?

    See if this helps...
    Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.
    Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...
    If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.
