Unable to execute perl.exe in Oracle client from command prompt

I am installing OUBI 2.3.2 version in windows 2008 server. For that I have installed Oracle Client 11.2.0.2
While installing Oracle Utilities Application Framework Application Server in command prompt i am getting the error
Unable to find file  <Dir>\Client\product\11.2.0\client_1\perl\bin\perl\bin\perl.exe
I have set the path in PATH Variable and I have tried manully giving the path and still getting the problem..

    Do I need to keep openscript UI open for script execution from command line ?
    Is there any way to increase this Execution Time out ? May be it is taking time to load the internal script assets. AS other scripts are running fine on the same machine from command prompt itself.

    I'm trying to run the discoverer report from command prompt and i need to schedule the same.
    How could i pass multiple values for the parameters?
    If i don't pass the optional parameters, the parameter screen is getting pop-up? How to skip optional parameters?
    Also, how to pass the data ranges (format for date parameters) ?

    How could i pass multiple values for the parameters? You should be able to use a comma separated list e.g.
    /parameter "Observation Name" "'Abdominal Girth','Abdominal Girth2'"
    How to skip optional parameters?I don't think you can. You have to supply all parameters and then decode out the parameters you don't need in the workbook.
    how to pass the data ranges You cannot pass a date range. You can pass a start and end parameters. The default format for the date parameters is DD-MON-YYYY but this can change depending on the NLS settings and format of the data item.

    I am using SignTool.exe from a new Process() to verify a codesigned assembly and it returns the exit code 1 whereas it returns exit code 0 while i run the same from Visual Studio Command prompt. Please let me know your thoughts...

    Thanks for your reply. I am receiving the exit code 1 by the Process even though the SignTool is able to successfully verify the assembly. I ran the below command from command prompt and received no errors or warnings. I assume the exit code should be 0.
    I have also verified that this assembly has digital signature embedded as you can see from the output.

    That would be the easiest variation

    would be an often used variation
    And then there is of course the version with parameter passing:
    C:\>sqlplus user/passwd@tns_alias @myscript param1 ... paramx

    1) do I need to apply just 10.2.0.4 patch or do I have to apply 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.3 as well?
    2) also do we get the separate software for upgrading client versions.
    I am trying to check under Patches tab in metalink and unable to get any output.

    You can do it by DBUA , Or You can do it by the below steps :
    1. Install 11.2.0.3 with different oracle home
    2. run preupgrade on the existing 11.2.0.1.
    3. shutdown 11.2.0.1 and startup upgrade from 11.2.0.3 home dont forget to copy the pfile/spfile of 11.2.0.1 database to $11.2.0.3_HOME/dbs path
    5. run the catupgrd.sql

  • Trouble connecting to 64 bit oracle client from 32 bit environment

    Hi,
    I have an application which connects to Oracle and an external 3ed party application via a set of APIs. We are now facing the issue while migrating our server from 2003 to 2008.
    The 2003 server was configured for 32 bit and had 32 bit Oralce installed on it. It was able to connect to both Oracle and the 3ed party API in this configuration
    In our New 2008 server we have installed a 64 bit Oracle however the 3ed party API is using is 32 bit. Once we use the 64 bit app poll we were able to connect  to the Oracle, but the API connection fails. When we enable the 32 bit in APP Pool, wer cant connect to the Oracle client.
    Could you please suggest a possible soultion for this problem?
    PS:
    We have tried placing the 32 bit Oracle.Data.Client DLL in the Bin folder and refered it in our project ( to avoid refering the 64 bit DLL from GAC) but this method didint work out.
    We have alos tried placing Oracle Data Access Componets DLLs in Our bin as explianed in the following blog post

    You can't use 64 bit client on 32 bit machine.
    You can use 32 bit client on 64 bit machine via syswow64, but not the other way around.
    If you compile your app with AnyCPU compile target though, it will automatically run as 32 bit on 32 bit OS, and 64 bit on 64 bit OS.

  • Issues executing report from command prompt

    I'm using Oracle 10g Reports and attempting to execute a report from my workstation to output in a spreadsheet format. We don't have a Reports Server implemented at this time, so I'm simply connecting to the database with Reports Builder and running reports. I can execute a report just fine from Reports Builder and output as PDF; however I'm not familiar with how to output as spreadsheet. From what I understand, spreadsheet output cannot be accomplished through the tool, only from the command prompt. I've tried executing the a command inthe following format from Windows XP command prompt, but no luck:
    rwrun report=test_report.rdf userid=[usernam/pwd@db] desformat=spreadsheet destype=file desname=c:\temp\test_report.xls
    Nothing occurs...no output, nothing when this command is entered. What is the issue? Can rwrun.exe even be used for executing on the client-side? According to Oracle documentation, rwrun is the executable that runs a report using the OracleAS Reports Services.

    Even if the parameter is deprecated, you can use errfile=c:\temp\reports.err and check if there are some errors ..

    Also make sure that the repository connection details are all correct before running scenario via startscen script

  • Oracle Connection Via Command Prompt

    Hi All,
    I am in a situation where I will have to test a connection to a Oracle Database by using just command prompt (Windows Server 2008) as I am not allowed to install any Oracle client tools. The Oracle server is located on a different server machine on the network. I need to do this before I update my web application code.
    When I search google I can only see that it is possible via SQL PLus/Oracle SQL Developer/Oracle Client Tools. But I can't install any of those due to restrictions.
    Can anyone please help me how do I achieve this by just using Command Prompt in Windows.

    I think the point is that no installation in traditional sense need to take place, instead you copy or unzip a few files.
    11.2 Instant Client lite with sqlplus (32-bit for Win) is around 20 MB.

    GO is a command, which is only known & interpretted by SSMS + SqlCmd.exe; SQL Server engine / data access components don't know this command, therefore you get an error.
