Mail Merge doesn't send, just makes Template

I was able to successfully create messages before that would send or be saved to my Drafts folder, but now it doesn't work. I haven't changed any settings since the successful mail was sent. I am using "{{...}}" for all variables, and they are exactly as I have them in the .csv file I have made as a source. For the "To:" field I even tried "<{{Email}}>" but it did not work. Included is a screenshot of my current setup

What I know of the mail merge add-on most issues are caused by spaces in the field names in the CSV file. "TO: " is not the same as "TO:" (I have used quotation makes to illustrate the space)

Mail merge doesn't work according to the instructions

I have Microsoft office 2007 and I am trying to do a mail merge. I am following the Mail merge wizard and all the steps are working fine until I get toward the end (step 4 of 6). Under replicate labels, it says 'you can copy the layout of the first label
to the other labels on the page by clicking the button below'. I click on the button which says 'update all labels' and out of the 30 potential labels on the page, only the first 3 and the last 2 get formatted. When I preview the labels, I find that indeed,
only the first 3 labels and last two labels on each page have names and addresses in them.
I have repeated the process, trying to make sure I am following the directions closely, but I get the same result. I have tried to do the steps independently of the mail merge wizard, just by following the steps in one of the forums, but I also get the same
result.
What am I missing? HELP!

InDesign Mail Merge troubleshooting...just hangs.

Using US Postal Service Postal One to create a CSV file for mail merge. ID5.5 on a PC. Worked for 5 months, now just hangs. Gets 90% done then does not finish. 350 newsletters with 4 merge fields. Single Record, overset text NOT checked. Suggestions?

You are not alone. I've just posted separately about the data merge problem which seems to have come back to InDesign (scroll up a bit from this posting). It is truly infuriating. Even when data merge works, it seems to be separating the merged document into several documents. Something seems to be truly amiss with the data merge facility. Adobe seem to have had problems with this part of the program for a long time now and don't seem to have fixed it. I'm hoping somebody from Adobe will read these posts and offer up a solution.

Lion Mail - no error but mail often doesn't send or receive until quit

Hi There,
After upgrading to Lion on two machines a couple of weeks ago, both machines exhibit an issue in Mail where there is no evidence that anything is wrong (no errors or offline notices or issues in connection doctor) but Mail doesn't send or receive any mail.
One machine was an upgrade over the top of a previous install and one was a complete erase, install 10.6, then upgrade to 10.7.
When we notice that we haven't rceived any mail for a few hours, we restart mail and messages suddenly send and a whole bunch arrive.
Details:
- 10.7.3 Lion
- Exchange server
Has anyone else seen this issue?
When I call our Exchange provider, they don't really have much of a clue when it comes to Macs so I'm hopping someone here has experienced and fixed this issue?

Inexplicably, the mac mail program now runs flawlessly on my girlfiriends new iMac. Well, I did do one thing this morning that I had not done yesterday, and I suppose that could have fixed the problem. I ran MacJanitor, both the daily and weekly parts of the program.
Though I don't really believe I did anything to fix the problem, when my girlfriend came into the room early this morning to see how the repairs were coming along, I claimed full responsibility for making it work again. She was really happy and it has been a great morning.

CF mail server doesn't send emails

Hi everyone,
we are running a CF 4.5 server in our company. the CFMail
doesn't send emails since last week. the emails are in the queue.
the server IP is correct, we restarted it a few times, nothing
helped.
Does anyone have any idea about possible problems?

Emails says sent but doesn't send just disappears; no errors given...

-Firstly can i start by moaning at Apples awful job with iOS6 (regular OS crashes, intermitent iMessage failures, crap maps, half a job on facebook integration etc.) ...
Thats asside here is (one of my many issues) I am experiencing since upgrading to iOS6:
I can send new emails from any of my email accounts (be it exchange or IMAP). But when i recieve an email I click reply (type it) and click send...
It makes a woosh sound to say sent but stays on sending.... eventually sending disappears and it says up to date. HOWEVER the email does not get sent it just simply vanishes. No error messages, and not in outbox and sent messages. It literally vanshes. I wouldnt mind but it doesnt even reach its destonation so i now cant reply to emails on my phone... Great!
I have tried deleting and resetting up the email accounts.... did nothing.
I have tried restoring the phone... did nothing.
Like i said i can send new emails but it wont let me reply to most of them only some. I have to CC myself into all emails now to see which ones the iphone has an issues with and have so far found no link between them.
I have seen other online forums with people experiencing the same issue but i have not found a solution or an article on the Apple communities so raised this one.

Hmm that is my last attempt at fixing it although i dont want to do that as ill lose all my app saves etc I'ts clearly not happy about something as it is only specific emails (which i also cant forward either), but i can copy the text into a new mail and send that way.
Ill try updating to 6.0.1 when i get wifi too, that may help.

Mail, why doesn't it just delete from everywhere when I delete from iphone?

This is another issue I can't seem to resolve. As per my other post about iCal, I expected my iphone to offer a seamless environment. I even, somewhat begrudgingly, would pay the $120 a year to mobileme if it did everything I want... sadly what I think I want is what the blackberry does!
Anyway, to get more specific. I want to be able to only have to delete and email once (e.g. if I read it and delete it on the iphone I don't want it to still be existing on my mac) and I want my mac and iphone to effectively be two components of one integrated system. Is this possible with mobileme or anything else without having to set up a dedicated server using microsoft exchange?

If you are dealing with IMAP or Exchange (ones that use ActiveSync) they will delete everywhere as those protocols do sync all up.
If you are using POP, remember POP was not meant to be used from so many locations. It doesn't SYNC. It in a sense copies. There are advanced settings for your POP account though that you can say remove from server once moved out of inbox but note that won't happen until next poll.
Your complaint has to do with the type of protocol your mail account uses.
For me, I do most of my email that I care about having access to when not at work via gMail and gMail uses IMAP thus it does sync up. If I delete or move a message on the phone, it deletes/moves on the server, if I do it via the computer or mail client that I use to interact with gMail, it updates my phone. All nice and synced.
So sounds like to me you are just using a POP account the POP protocol is very limited.

TS4069 all of a sudden i can't get incoming mail. I can send just fine. I deleted my account and then reintalled it; now it only shows emails going back one month and still not receiving new ones.

I cannot receive incoming mail all of a sudden on my I-Pone 4. I deleted my comcast account and then set it up again as suggested. Now it only loaded messages beginning one month ago; and still not receiving any new. Any ideas?

There are only two things that I can suggest.
The first is to try the Mail Setup Assistant.
The other is giving Mozilla's Thunderbird a shot - setup the account and see if it will work with this free email app. I don't like Mail at all - and it gives some people fits around here (I don't know how many times people have posted about problems with outgoing servers using Mail).
Try both methods - I don't use Mail - I use MS's Outlook (and, before that, Entourage). If the Setup Assistant offers no relief, just try Thunderbird and see if it works with it.

N iPad Mail bug. It won't send, asks me to provide a password in Settings, already there. Draft screen freezes, have to turn iPad off/on, mail still doesn't send.

This seems to be a genuine bug. Here's the behaviour - after composing message, and hitting Send, I get a message asking to provide a password, with two choices, Settings or OK. Going to settings, and resetting the already set password does nothing, hitting OK takes you out of that screen. If you open the unsent message under Drafts, it is frozen, the Cancel and Send buttons are grayed out, and you can't do anything else in Mail unless you turn the iPad off and on. Anyone know what to do here?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Mail merge doesn't see all records in Access query

Office 13 running on Win 8.1.
I have a query in Access that show 4 records when I run it. If I specify this query as my data source (select recipients) and then choose to edit the recipient list, there are only two records! The query in Access looks like this:

If I remove this part: "((Associates.[a-id) Like "*A" Or (Associates.[a-id] is Null AND" then all 4 records show up in the recipient list.
In short, members can have multiple associates, but only the"A" associate is to be included in this letter. (associates have the same number as the member, with an a,b,c etc. appended. A member number could be 8741 and an associate number 8741A.

Hmm, I tend to work in SQL mode when creating queries in Access - in that case, it doesn't change what you write. But I see that in the tabular Design mode it does change to ALIKE and that it works OK - something I wasn't aware of. I read that ALIKE is supposed
to allow "%" and "_" even when the database is in "Jet mode.
FWIW in ANSI mode, I would not expect LIKE "%a" to work in Access but it should work from OLE DB
But in any case, it still works OK here, so still not sure what is wrong.
As a workaround, it might be necessary either to export the query results from Access, then use the exported data as your source, use the query to create a new table and use that as the data source, or connect using DDE (to do that, in Word, you have to
check Options->Advanced->General->Confirm file format conversion on open. Then go through the connection process again and select the .accdb/.mdb. If it's a .accdb, you will have also have to check "Show all" when you get to the "Confirm Data Source"
dialog box. At that point, you need to select the "MS Access Databases via DDE" option from the list (even if you have a .accdb, which isn't listed in the file types for that connection method).
All of these approaches have their disadvantages (e.g. DDE may not connect easily and probably won't return Unicode data correctly) but may at least give you another avenue of investigation.

Why doesn't mail merge in Pages reflect changes made to the numbers source document?

When using mail merge in a Pages envelope document, changes made to its Numbers address source document are not reflected. I have to create a whole new Pages envelope document and choose the Numbers address source document merge fields all over again.
I never had any trouble doing this with Word and Exell!
What am I doing wrong?

Mail Merge from Numbers works just as you are trying to use it.
You create a Numbers document with the proper layout for merging.
Enter the data in teh numbers document and Save it.
You create a Pages Document to merge into and create the links to the Numbers document.
You Edit > Mail Merge in Pages.
To merge again from the Numbers document, make the necessary edits, Save the Numbers document and do the mail merge again in the Pages document that you created for that purpose. The only problem that normally arises is that we forget to Save the Numbers document after editing.

How can I send just 1 message for 2 mail accounts under mail forwarding

Hi everyone
I have a question for mail forwarding.
I have 2 inbound mail servers,4 outbound servers and many store servers.
User A set his mail forwarding address to B, and B set his mail forwarding address to A.
So 2 guys can receive each others message.
In this case, If two users have same "mailhost' value(ex, x.test.com), forwarding mail goes just once for each accounts.
If "mailhost' values , however, are different (ex, x.test.com and y.test.com - and also two mail servers connected as internal server),
forwarding mail goes 4 times for each accounts.
So sender gets 4 messages and receiver gets 5 messages.
How can I set mail server configuration to send just once not 4 times for 2 users?
Any advices would be welcomed.

User A set his mail forwarding address to B, and B
set his mail forwarding address to A.
So 2 guys can receive each others message.You have just created a mail loop. This is not a good thing.
Any advices would be welcomed.I would advise creating a mailing list which has both userA and userB as members, and then have emails sent to that address OR have a third account which they can both access (IMAP shared folders) and have email sent to that OR have them share each-others INBOX.
The fact that userA & B didn't get multiple copies when they were on the same mailhost is due to good luck only.

Mail merge 3.7.1 sometimes doesn't work

I have 60 email ID's in my list. I am using mail merge 3.7.1 installed as add-on. When I complete the process, the mail merge doesn't accept my request & after I press OK to complete the process, the mails do not show in the outbox. When I tried another list of 23 email ID's, mail merge worked.
1. Is it that there is limit to no. of email ID's in single list so as to successfully use mail merge 3.7.1
2. In case there is no limit and no limit as to how many emails can be sent, then please suggest me how to resolve this issue.

First support is provided by the add-on author. Check the add-ons download page for a support email address.
Second, the add-on is very picky about leading and trailing blanks in the firld headers of CSV lists "Email " will not work, nor will " Email" but "Email" will.

Problem with Mail Merge in Word 2007 and Outlook 2007

I just found out about the function to generate mail merged PDFs and send them via email. I tried that using Outlook 2007 as the email client, but it seems to me that Acrobat generates RTF emails instead of plain text. That causes many email clients, except Outlook, just to display a file called winmail.dat instead of the actual PDF file.
I already checked the settings in Outlook and made sure that new mails are started in plain text mode. If I do this manually the email becomes plain test. But not automatically with Acrobat.
Does anybody have a solution on that? I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

Hi andré, I guess the issue is coming from the fact that you selected "AllPartiesInvolved" and that may contain any numbers of entries. So when you test your webservice, you put a key and then get a result for that key, and in that case you might get "element1" until "element3" for example if there was 3 partners involved in you activity.
But, when you design your template, you don't have a key at that moment, so in the Web Service structure, you have "items" which stands for all the possible entries you might retrieve at runtime. I guess you could use an index in your template to specify which item you need, but this is quite hasardeous, so i would be you, I would not design my web service to use "AllPartiesInvolved" but rather a specific Partner type like contact person for instance.
