Mail on Server not appearing in Mail

All of a sudden yesterday I stopped getting e-mails. I can send fine but I haven't been receiving any since early yesterday. Then I logged on to my mail server via the .Mac website (i.e. via the internet effectively) and hey presto! 22 unread messages appeared. Why aren't these downloading to my Mail application on the desktop?
Anyone any ideas?
MalcW

To anyone reading this and experiencing the same problems I have just solved it with the help from the .Mac forum. Apparently my Mail pprogram was "offline" Now don't ask me how this occurred but going up to the Mailbox Menu and selecting Go Online seems to have solved the problem.
The question is - why did this occur in the first place?
If anyone else is experiencing the same problem this looks like a good place to start!

I have set up a second Collection and Task Server (W2003 SP2) on a VM. The Collection Server is running fine.
The Task Server does not appear in the Manager displayer, after refreshes (F5) and rebooting both the Manager and the new Collection/Task Server.

I entered a ticket with Novell Support $, and the issue revolved around installing the Collection Server, then installing the Task Server later on. I guess the "Component Install" isn't entirely true!
Here is the scenario for anyone else with this problem:
    1. Second Collection Server installs and it grabs new DLLs for the Primary
    2. Task Server installs but can't start because of DLL conflict
    3. Reinstalling the Task Server does not overwrite the DLL, so the same problem
The fix is stupid and simple:
Install the Task Server to a new folder. Then it can install all of the DLLs including the shared programs
I hope this helps someone else avoid misery!

  • Process Server not appearing in Migration Accelerator Portal

    Hi Team,
I have registered CX portal with RX IP (MA). But still can't see the process server in MA portal discovery agent option.
If you found this post useful, Please "Mark as Answer" or "Vote as Helpful". Thanks & Regards.

    Hi Joe,
This happens when process server is not registered with CS server.  please check below:
    On the Process Server, open
c:\home\svsystems\etc\AMETHYST.CONF. Search for 'PS_CS_IP' and port.
please validate above information is correct and PS_CS_IP should be public ip address of CS in Azure and same case for port (it should be public address of CS in Azure). In some cases your public address will change for CS in azure if you shutdown and start
the VM. This is due to no reserved IP address configured for this VM.
if that is the case, you will have to follow below steps to reset the things:
#1 Reconfigure Source Machine and MT to point to CS
on the Source Machines and Master Target (in your Azure subscription) you can change it from HOSTCONFIGWXCOMMON.EXE found under <program files>\InMage Systems
#2 Reconfigure PS to point to CS
on the Process Server, open c:\home\svsystems\etc\AMETHYST.CONF. Search for 'PS_CS_IP' and change the IP address to point to your new public CS IP address.
After making changes to your AMETHYST.CONF you need to restart TMANSVC service (go to RUN > services.msc > scroll down to tmansvc & restart it.)
#3 Reconfigure CS with MA Portal
    Unregister CS from MA from
From CS Portal > menu Settings > Rx Settings > click ‘Unregister RX’
Run post deployment script on CS with new public IP as described in HELP, under the section ‘Installation and Configuration’ > ‘Create and Install components’ > ‘Install CS on Windows’ > ‘Run Postdeployconfig script’
    Register CS with MA
From CS Portal > menu Settings > Rx Settings > click ‘Unregister RX’
    Thx-Gopi

  • Mails phisically in the server but not appearing in webmail and reconstruct

    Hello:
    Solaris 10 8/07 s10x_u4wos_12b X86
Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.3
The user deleted every single mail from his mailboxes via webmail. Every folder appeared empty in the webmail, the inbox, recycle bean, sent mails... all of them (I checked it). However, it stated that the quota usage was 50%. That was because in the server there were 50 MB of .msg files, and the user's quota is 100 MB. I don't know why happened that, as far as I know, if the .msg files were expunged messages, they shouldn't count for the quota usage, is that right?
Anyway, I removed the messages using rm, then imexpire and reconstruct -r user/username/INBOX. I sent two emails to the user with attached files, they were correctly received and the quota usage changed right (files size was 2 MB, so quota usage was 2%). I deleted the messages via webmail, I was able to see them in the server but did not appeared via webmail, and the quota was right, so everything seemed to be OK.
    The weird thing is:
    root@machine # reconstruct -n user/username/INBOX
    user/username/INBOX
ERROR: Inconsistent information: 0 idx records 2 messages 3 expunged
So, I run reconstruct -n user/username/INBOX, it finds the problem, it shows something like "reconstructing: OK", but if I run the reconstruct -n again, it still show the "Inconsistent information" error. ¿? What am I missing?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you very much, and I apologize for my poor English.

    Sorry for the incomplete info:

Did you verify this output with the output of mboxutil/imquotacheck for the account?
The 50% quota usage was reported in UWC and also in the output of mboxutil.
That was because in the server there were 50 MB of .msg files, and the user's quota is 100 MB. I don't know why happened that, as far as I know, if the .msg files were expunged messages, they shouldn't count for the quota usage, is that right? The ".msg" files are not removed from disk until the next imexpire run. If a message is expunged it won't count towards quota usage.
Right, because of that I don't understand why there were ".msg" files in the disk that were not displayed in UWC, as they were expunged, but they did count towards quota usage.
Anyway, I removed the messages using rm, then imexpire and reconstruct -r user/username/INBOX. -n          : report basic errors found but try not to rebuild most folder files if possible
(This may be used to catch errors before repair so they may be studied)If you run "reconstruct user/username/INBOX" was the mailbox fixed?Well, the mailbox is working fin, but I think that there's something that I'm misunderstanding. I'm really newbie in SJS Messaging Server. The -n flag is for report errors only, without performing any repair, isn't it?

-n          : report only, no repairAnd the -r is for recursively repaire the mailbox, right? So, if I run the reconstruct -n and it found a problem, then I run the reconstruct -r and it said that the reconstruction was OK... When I run the reconstruct -n again, why did it find an inconsistency again? I don't get it.
Anyway, I don't see that problem now:

  • Sent mail does not appear in sent mail folder

Hi. Odd problem. I have done a search for this but can't find an answer.
I have an IMAP account with PIPEX and mail will not display the sent messages.
Mail has 3 folders - Inbox, Sent, Trash.
IMAP account has 2 folders - INBOX and a sub folder sent-mail.
    Inbox/INBOX syncs fine.
Nothing appears at all in Sent.
Sent messages sync ok, as (using finder) they appear in my library at myusername/library/mail/IMAP-(mylogin)/INBOX/sent-mail.imapmbox/Messages
For info, the inbox messages are stored at myusername/library/mail/IMAP-(mylogin)/INBOX.imapmbox/Messages.
For info again I have store sent messages on server selected in preferences (because I need to see them from another computer)
I have tried 'rebuild' several times on the inbox & the rebuild option is greyed out on the sent folder.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Stringbag

    Hi Stringbag.
This account requires INBOX to be put in Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > IMAP Path Prefix for Mail to handle it properly. Mailboxes on the server should not appear as subfolders of the account’s Inbox in Mail.
After having done that, Mail should be able to properly save sent messages on the server, but maybe in a mailbox different from where you want them to be stored. To fix that, select the desired folder in Mail, and do Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent.

  • Some sent mails do not appear/are not saved in "sent messages" and are lost

i work with mail and 4 different imap accounts. about every 15th sent email "gets lost". i.e. i can follow the sending process in the activity window, and i hear the sending confirmation tone. and, usually, the mails even reach the receiver. BUT, the mails do not appear/are not saved in the "sent messages" folder and are lost. this is very unsettling, as there seems to be no recognizable pattern. can anyone help, or should i change to "entourage"? big thanks for replies

    Hi Bassolino and David,
I, too, have had this intermittent issue and wonder if you had found a solution?
In the past 3 weeks, two messages have been sent from my mac mail account, using the mail application (the only apparent common factor being that both messages had iphoto attachments), the recipients have received them - only I do not have a copy in my 'sent' folder.
They are not stored on the macintosh server either...
I have not altered any settings and this intermittent issue has just emerged.
Any help from 'Top Users' would be welcome. Thanks.

  • Mi emails notifications are not appearing as other applications, only can see them when open my mails

Hi I have an Iphone 5c and set my email account (local provider company).
I can receive mails perfectly and also send mails but the notification of a new mail comming is not appearing with the red globe on top of the Mail as suppose to.
Once I entered the mail application the mails start to download and the red globe appears but not before just after I entered tha application.
the other applications I have like whatsapp and bbm are working perfectly. I check the notification center many times and looks ok for me but don't know what could be the problem. If someone can help me I really appreciate...

Push mail is automatically sent to your device when it arrives at the email server.  Your email account has to support this.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Push > ON,  your account > select Push (if available), Fetch, or Manual
    Below list of accounts:
    Fetch > select interval

  • Sent mail not appearing in Internet mail box

I have recently been using Mail on iMac and while I can receive and view all emails on it. But strange thing is that whatever I sent from Mail on the iMac, it just appeared on the Mail Sent box but do not appear on the internet version of email sent box or anywhere in the internet version. I do have an iPhone and the sent mail from the iMac Mail cannot be found too. However, receiptents do receive my emails anyway. It is frustrating and disappointed that this happened and unable to do work on my iMac in this way especially when I am travelling and away from my desk.
Currently I am using Yahoo! .sg mail with IMAP and has checked thoroughly, including the outgoing server. Did many delete and re-installing but this does not seem to work. Maybe there are some steps that I have overlooked, or improper installation, could somebody help?
    JChanSGP

I find that perhaps one message in ten is not saved to my sent folder. I am using .mac mail. I am storing sent messages on the server, draft messages locally.
It seems that some kind of timeout on port 143 prevents the message from being copied to the sent folder, although the message is actually sent.
This is clearly a bug. Even if there is a communication failure, the message should remain accessible somewhere, not drift off into the ether. It would be far preferable to risk sending twice by holding the outgoing message in drafts until the move to sent completes.

  • Mail - Yahoo IMAP sent mail not appearing

    Hi all,
I've been trying to troubleshoot this without much success. I've an iphone and a MBP running Lion. I've several Yahoo and Gmail accounts, and they are all set up as IMAP accounts.
Receiving and viewing messages are fine. However, if I were to send an email using one of the Yahoo accounts via Mail on the MBP, it gets sent successfully, but that email does not appear within the 'server' sent mailbox, nor within my iPhone mail app. Gmail seems to work fine.
I've highlighted each relevant 'sent' mailbox on my mac and set it to 'Use this mailbox' within the Mailbox menu, but it has not made a difference.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
    Much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Alvin

Sending is done via SMTP. What happened here is that SMTP accepted the mails for sending (thus, the mail client put them in the sent folder). From that moment on, SMTP needs to actually deliver mails to the recipient(s). Until this has happened, mails stay in the mail queue of your mail server.
You did not mention if the mails got eventually delivered, so here is a list of some possible reasons for late delivery or non-delivery:
-Receiving mail server does not respond
    -Connectivity issues
    -amavisd not running
-Mail got flagged as spam (non-delivery). This would happen if you are trying to send mail from a blacklisted IP (like dynamic IPs) and your mail server is not configured to bypass spam scans for authenticated users.
    HTH,
    Alex

Mail under Lion: sent mails do not appear in the sent folder. What is to do?

So, Where sent messages are stored?
Because if I go into my email account nothing appears in the outbox?Of course not. Why would it appear in your e-mail reader's outbox when your e-mail reader did not send the e-mail ?
    my Pl/sql looks like:
    BEGIN
    utl_mail.send(sender => '[email protected]',
    recipients => '[email protected]',
    subject => 'Test',
    message => 'HOlix');
END;And this results in the Oracle database server to contact the mail server and send the mail. Your e-mail client is not part of this process. Your e-mail reader does not know about that e-mail. Your e-mail reader is a client- not a server. It has no reason to know what another e-mail client (your PL/SQL code) send or did not send.
You want an outbox? You need then to design and code one for your PL/SQL mail client.
I dont understand what happen?Perhaps you should read up on WHAT a mail (SMTP) server is, HOW it works, and WHAT a PPOP3/IMAP mailbox is, and HOW that works?

  • IMAP email not appearing in Mail

Background: I have an IMAP email account that's over a decade old.  It's going away soon so I'm trying to figure out how to get a complete local copy of all that email.  There are a total of around 100 folders with anywhere from 5 to over 2000 emails in each folder.
The problem: there's email on the server that isn't showing up in Mail.  For instance one folder (according to the webmail interface) has 771 messages.  Mail says that folder has 700 messages.  Looking at the webmail interface I can easily find several of the 71 emails that are not appearing in Mail.  In Mail, if I select the folder and "Get Account Info" and look at the Quotas section, it lists the correct number of email messages (771).  If I rebuild the folder, as it's being rebuilt the blue progress bar at the bottom left of Mail says there are 771 incoming messages.  But when it's done, I can only see 700.
I just double checked on a second computer (MacBook Pro, also latest 10.7 version & Mail) and it's the same there, it only sees 700 messages.
Now, repeat this times the roughly 100 folders . . .
What's going on here?  Why isn't Mail downloading or displaying these emails?

I just looked in the User/Library/Mail/V2 folder, and tracked down this folder.  Digging down several levels into the files for this account and folder I found two sub-folders called "Messages" which contained a total of 774 (mostly) .emlx files.  In three cases there were a pair of files with the same number, one with an .emlxpart extension and the other with a partial.emlx extension -- if I assume that pair corresponds to the same email, this it appears there are 771 messages on local disk.  And Mail refuses to display 71 of them?
I'm doing a backup with MailSteward to see what it makes of these files.

  • TS3276 When i receive a message in Mail it does not appear in my inbox

When i revieve a message in mail it does not appear in my in box until i click away from the in box by going into sent mail and then returning to the in box, this has only started happening since i have moved onto Maveric OS, any ideas anyone?

I found the answer on another forum by '''Tom Wijsman''':
Go to Options -> Advanced -> Config Editor.
    Find the Name mail.pop3.deleteFromServerOnMove
    Set it to True.
True: Delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you move or delete the message.
False(default): Only delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you delete the message.
That's it, restart Thunderbird. You need to press 'Get Mail' everytime you want to sync with the email server, in order for you to make sure messages in the application is in sync with the email server.
The following should be emphasized to realize the sync with the server. You will not see your server message disappear upon the initial Get Mail download (new messages downloaded). After you process your Inbox in Thunderbird by deleting/moving a new message, then do another Get Mail which will delete the new messages previously downloaded on the server (put in sync).
Note: If you have older messages in your Thunderbird Inbox, they will not be deleted from Server. Delete them manually from server. From then on, any new messages you download, then process (delete/move), and then do the sync by doing Get Mail again WILL be deleted.
