Mail Server Installation on xMII Server

Hi All,
I had installed mail server on xMII Server and created a mail account there.
Inside the BLS I used localhost as server.
And username and password, I given the credentials of mail account created.
The problem is I am not able to send mails(Even I tried running it by creating an XacuteQuery). Please let me know if there is anyother setting that needs to be done from xMII side or from mail server side, so that I can send mails mentioning Server as localhost instead of stating entire IP.
Thanks & Regards,
Ravi kumar

Hi Ravi,
Do you want to send mail from xMII to your mail?
No need to give mail Account and password.Only you give  your mail server name , From and To.
Mail server name should be correct.
And other fields like subject and attachment as per your requirement.
Thanks,
Manisha

  • Precal Server installation on App server

    Hi All,
Is it advisable to install precal server on the application server ? Also, we are planning to install it on the JAVA server ? Will there be any issues going forward ? Any inputs from your side will be appreciated.

Do not install anything else on your precalc server and especially do NOT install it on your BI server if you run on a Windows platform.
If you don't need Excel workbooks then you can use precalculation without Pre-calculation servesr, using BI Java to send out PD, XML (Excel style) or HTML documents of queries or web templates.

  • XMII Server crashes when BLS is executed

    Hi,
We are facing a problem in xMII server. From xmii server we are calling a RFM which returns a dataset of around 50 thousand to 100 thousand. When the bls is executed from the http runner then the server is crashed. But it runs properly for smaller dataset. So can anybody give information about the threshold value of data set which xmii can handle. And how to overcome this situation.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Soumen Mondal

    Hi,
For huge dataset you will get this problem.Fisrt check no other transactions should not run during the sametime because this is a big transaction and consuming lots of memory space.
You need to check how much memory your all transactions and whole application is consuming. If it exceeds the RAM then system will be hanged.
    Thanks,

  • Problems accessing mails remotely off MS Exchange Server 2003

    Hi
I am trying to access my mails remotely off my companies server webmail while using Safari.
The address is normally as follows . Https://thecompanyservername/exchange
When i type this in the Safari navigation bar its comes up that the page cannot be found
I also have bootcamp installed and when i type in the address when i am in windows mode on internet explorer its takes me to the login page no problem.
My company uses MS Server 2003 . Wondering if its a compatibility problem and if there could be a patch etc
Any advice welcome as to how i can access my mails remotely without having to go into windows mode.
    Thanks

iPhone and iPad use a different way of accessing the server.
I don't know the exact details, but we are using Zarafa instead of Exchange and have the same problem:
iPhone and the likes can connect to Zarafas z-push interface, which is some identical interface to the native Exchange interface, while the desktop e-mail application tries to interface with the web front end (via http) of the server.
These are completely different setups and it depends on the actual installation of the server to get this going.
So, you will most likely need different access parameters for the desktop - and the web mail feature has to be enabled on the Exchange server.
In my opinion using the web mail interface is just silly. On the other hand, the native protocol has less features comparedto the web front end, so you are somehow stuck with sins of the past.
    Good luck!

  • QUESTION ABOUT CLIENT ACCESS ROLE AND MAILBOX SERVER INSTALLATION ON DIFFERENT HOSTS

If i install one mailbox server and three client access servers on three different hosts, then what will be the url to open ecp and owa?and also to do this kind of installation, what should i do?please help.
    trainee

Well, you can open ECP URL Internally by using any of following URL
    1. https://host1/ecp
    2. https://host2/ecp
    3. https://host3/ecp
OR if you have DNS entry for mail, lets say mail.domain.com then you can open your ECP using https://mail.domain.com/ecp
As far as deployment is concerned i won't recommend this deployment. You are trying to achieve HA of CAS server role but mailbox server role who will be performing most of the Exchange 2013 tasks is not redundant. I would recommend you to have 2 CAS servers
in NLB with 2 Mailbox Servers in DAG for HA. Exchange 2013 is loosely coupled and you can install any of these roles first. Thanks.
Hope this answers your questions. Kindly mark this as answer if found helpful.

  • Thunderbird fails to send email when "Scan email for junk mail" option is checked in Server Admin

I have 2 clients that need to send mail through my server, one Mac and one Windows. The Mac uses apple mail and the Windows machine uses Thunderbird.
Apple Mail will send fine, it is set up for "Use Default ports 25, 465, 587" and "Use SSL" and "Authentication: MD5 Challenge-response".
Thunderbird refuses to send and I don't even see any errors showing up in the Console on the OS X server under smtpd entries.
If I uncheck the "Scan email for junk mail" option on the server, then Thunderbird will send fine.
Thunderbird is set up as: "smtp port 587 (default)" "connection security: STARTTLS" "Authentication method: Encrypted Password"
May or may not be relevant: I use virtual domains as well as aliases.
Server: Mac OS X Server version 10.5.8

Solved it, looks like maybe the smtpd settings for sasl authentication may not have been correct. I followed everything in http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/38/41/ the "Frontline Spam Defense for OS X server" guide and now can send mail just fine from Thunderbird Winodws and from Apple Mail.

Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
              •          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 993
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
              •          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 587
              •          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • SharePoint Server 2013 single server installation licenses and system requirements

We are thinking of setting up a SharePoint Server 2013 for the following features to be accessed by our test team (<100 users)
Our requirements are as follows -
Total user access <100 users(starts with 50 and may be go upto 100)
Mainly Access to TeamSite(Document library), WiKi, BI reports view(SSRS Reports integration)
We have a Visual Studio Ultimate license that covers SQL Server 2012 and Share Point server 2013.
We have also got a Amazon EC2 machine access to create a Xlarge box with Microsoft recommended Cores, Memory, storage for SINGLE INSTALLATION of SharePoint Server 2013 and SQL server database on Windows Server 2012
    My queries are as follows
Are the licenses above sufficient to go ahead with setting up the SP Server? or do i need any other licenses ?
I would like to create local LDAP in amazon without connecting to the company active directory. Would this be possible? We have users from other locations(different countries) providing services to our company and we would like them to access this portal
to share and access docuemnts without any network issue etc..
Are there any known firewall issues with EC2 machines for share point deployment
System requirements for single server installation (with or without BI reports)
Please note this implementation is only for internal use by the test team and is not critical. Not a production implementation.
    Is there any better solution?
    Much appreciate your help
    Thanks
    Vara

MSDN subscription licenses for SharePoint aren't, as far as i know, for use as production devices. This means that whilst you can use it for testing and development you can't use that license for the SharePoint server that you'll all be using.
As such I think you will need to buy a SharePoint 2013 server license. The same goes for SQL, Windows etc.
There is also the question of user licenses, ie. CALs. I don't remember if those come included as part of an MSDN subscription.
    2) Possibly. As long as Amazon can host a domain for you it should be possible.
    3) Pass. Microsoft prefer you to use Azure and most of my training and experience is with that.
    4) High. 4 cores, 24GB of RAM minimum.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx#hwforwebserver
You'll either need a 2XLarge or a memory orientated box, in which case you won't have much storage space.
Internal team infrastructure is still important. If you're using it enough to make it worth having then you need it there and running.
Have you considered using Office 365?

  • 11.1.2 print server installation

    Hi All,
I wonder if anyone has had experience of installing 11.1.2 in a primarily Solaris environment.
For our installation - everything seems to be going quite well apart from getting PDF's from financial reports.
Since the print server needs to run on Windows - we have installed it in Windows Server 2003 and gone through the configuration. However when running a report in PDF, workspace shows the loading message forever and never returns a PDF. It is fine in HTML.
    Our environment is:
Solaris 10 VM for foundation services - running Shared Services, Workspace and APS.
Solaris 10 VM for essbase - running just Essbase.
Solaris 10 VM for reporting services - running EAS, Essbase Studio, Web Analysis, Financial Reporting, Reporting and Analysis
Windows Server 2003 VM for the Financial
Looking at the logs give some clues that there are attempts to access non existent files and I believe I know the problem is where I configured the R&A repository directory on the server which for the both installs was local. On the unix install some of these errors are looking at paths to a C: drive (i.e. the print server install location). It looks like I need to configure both to the same location.
So the advice I'm after is:
    - should I setup a unix share through Solaris and try and get the print server to access this
    - or should I setup a windows share and get both services to access this also.
Or is there any other way to do this. The install guide is quite vague about the repository location.
    Cheers,
    Dan

    Hi, dlclarke
I have a similar scenario here and also can't get the PDF output with 11.1.2. Right the same symptom and a very similar environment.
One of the servers is a Linux 64bits with Essbase, WA, RA Framework, Foundation, Financial Reporting (except print server). The other is a VM with Windows 2008 64bits and ghoscript 8.63 32 bits with the Print Server.
The Print Server is configured but when you open a financial reporting as PDF it becames loading and loading forever. The output of the Print Server is:
Financial Reporting Print Server started successfully.

Was your problem appeared to mine? Is it needed to create a folder share between both hosts?
Another thing, in what log files had you found errors looking for a C: drive path?
    Thank you in advance.

  • SAP DMS server installation Query

    Guys,
I would like to share my plans on DMS server installation under DEV,Quality, prod stage and requesting you all to validate and send me any comments if I am wrong anywhere.
    -        We have 1 external DMS server of (250Gb capacity)
    -     We are now in realization phase, As we know that we have 3 servers namly Development, quality and production server.
    -     In Development Server we do Baseline DMS customization
    -     In Quality server we do Integration testing
    -     There will be as external computer with harddisk capacity of 80 GB,I will Install Content server CD and make that 80GB hard disk as content server for storing the documents, create content repository and store the documents which are to be tested under both development and quality server stage(Note : we can use SAP database for both testing purpose but If we load huge data there,it will slowdown the server drastically)
    -     During the production server install the DMS server (250 gb) and define the content repository config under production server and start storing all the fresh document
    -     Note: Since the tested documents are stored in local PC we can avoid all the tested documents under quality stage only, once the DMS server is installaed in production server we can freshly load the documents.
    -     Note: I knew I have to install twice the Content server cd(once with 80 GB local hard disk and later with External DMS  server)
This is how I planned, I request you to highlight the pain areas by this method else give me the confidence of how I planned?
I appreciate for immediate solution; also how does Kpro comes into picture here.
Points will be rewarded for sure.
    Regards,
    Murali.S
    DMS consultant

    Hi Murali,
As per my understanding you want to keep a Temporary Content Server for your Dev & QA system but a full fledge 250GB Content server for Production.
This is a Good method you are following, i.e. when you go for production you will not have any junk data, you will be loading only fresh data (originals) into it.
There is nothing harm or pain in doing this, only thing is you have re-configure the Content Repository and Category in Production System (SAP).
Your Basis person has to open Production System for doing this Settings (Defining Content Repository and Content Category with Port, HTTP, etc)
Document Area to be ensured in each client at any point of time, Physical machine, IP address, Port etc.
You can maintain a Excel sheet with a following Columns:
<b>Client, Content Category, Content Repository, Document Area, Physical Machine, IP Address, Port.</b>
    For Transaction OACT & OAC0.
    Rest your method is fantastic.
    Best Regards
    Rehman
    Reward Your Points If satisfied.

  • New Server Installation, now client computers can't connect to services. Where to go from here?

    Hello.
I recently had to setup a new Mac Mini Server (Mavericks). We had one previously but one of the raided hard drives failed. No backup.
Our office of 6 Apple MacBook Pros used to connect to all file sharing and calendar services, easily.
On the new Server installation, I added the same users with the same passwords etc. The client computers cannot access calendars, file sharing etc. On the clients, I have opened up System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Options > Network Account Server and added the FQDN of the server, but I get an error ' Unable to add server. Connection failed to the directory server. (2100) '
2 of the clients are on Mountain Lion. The rest are on the latest Mavericks.
I'm a bit lost on where to go from here and would appreciate your help before I wipe everything and start from scratch.
    Thanks.

    Hi Strontium90
Ha! There was a time machine backup, but we had a storm here which rendered it and the server useless. We are such a small team without an 'IT' guy, apart form me as I have a vague interest in all things Apple.
What is your DNS name space?
Do you need the name here?
Do the servers and the client agree on this name?
Not sure what you mean. The domain name works as when I type it into a web browser, I can see the 'Welcome to Server' page.
Did you enable an Open Directory Master?
    Yes. Open Directory is running.
Did you grant the users/group access to the service you are offering?
Yes. All services are checked for each user.
Make sure the user/group is permitted to access your enabled services.
    All allowed, too.
Oh, and implement a backup strategy
Will do, once I sort out this problem. Time Machine and off-site, I think.

  • Start multiple domains simultaneously on 1 Weblogic server installation?

Is it okay to start and run multiple domains simultaneously. Better yet, when having multiple domains on 1 WLS server, should each domain have a different port number in order to be run simultaneously?
Here's my scenario - I installed Oracle Business Intellgence, which by default installs and configures WLS server for certain Business Intelligence applications (BI Publisher). This instance was running fine and good and still is.
Then I had another application, Oracle Data Integrator, which has a Console piece that requires a domain on WLS. So instead of modifying the existing domain for Oracle Business Intelligence, I created a new domain via the Configuration Wizard and selected those components for Oracle Data Integrator.
    therefore current domains:
...\domains\bifoundation_domain --> installed automatically as part of Oracle Business Intelligence
    ...\domains\odi11g --> I created this domain after I
Now I have 2 domains under 1 WLS Server (windows 7 64bit), but if I startWeblogic.cmd for the bifoundation_domain, and I startWeblogic.cmd for the odi11g...then only the components for the bifoundation_domain become available via the WLS Console.
    Questions:
    - Can I run both domains simultaneously?
    - Should I have modified the bifoundation_domain to include Oracle Data Integrator component; therefore only having 1 domain but having everything run under that domain?
    - Does the Port for each domain matter? both bifounddation_domain and odi11g domain use ports 7001
Are there any other considerations? Thanks much.

    Hi,
It is perfectly OK to run multiple domains on a single Weblogic server installation. Only constraint would be you have enough capacity available on your server to start multiple instances.
Things to note is, if your domain1 is running on listen address : port { localhost : 7001 } then your other domain should be configured on a different port say {localhost : 8001 }. If you want both domain to run on same port then go for virtual IP's to be plumbed on your physical network interface and configure as,
    domain1 - { ip1 : 7001 }
    domain2 - { ip2 : 7001 }
this way you will can access both domain admin console on same port.
Remember, Weblogic resources cannot be shared between domain, however a single nodemanager will be enough to monitor both the domains.

  • How do I move mail from an old server to a new server?

I am rebuilding my server. The new server runs on OS X 10.9.4 with Server 3.1.2. The old server ran OS X 10.9.x and Server 3.x (the exact versions are not known).
Within the folder /Library/Server/Mail, I found the email stores for both systems.  I have gone through each folder and identified the 36 character string that serves to identify the user's mailbox and paired each one to a user id on both systems.  On the old system, there are multiple mailboxes for some users, and I think it is a result of the users being deleted and recreated: perhaps the system identified the identical name and assumed that the user might be different and therefore created a unique 36 character id for the mail system.
The trick is, I am trying to recover the mail from the old server.
I have attempted to copy the files which are human readable and formatted for SMTP transmission to the new server under the correct mailbox corresponding to the owning user (see screen shots below). The simple act of copying the files has not made these files visible via the IMAP protocol. I have tried restarting the mail service hoping that the Server app would rebuild whatever indexes need to be built so that the mail can be served via IMAP, and that has not worked either.
The question is, how do I get the mail from the old server mail boxes into the new server mailboxes?
This screen shot shows the location of one mail collection at /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/[userid].  Mail sits in the "new" folder only for a moment before being processed and put into the "cur" folder.  Copying mail from the old server into the "new" folder produces an empty "new" folder, but one can see the files populate briefly before they are moved into the "cur" folder.
The next screen shot shows one email opened in TextEdit.  The format should look very familiar.  This is the same format that one would use to send SMTP requests to an SMTP server.  This particular example happens to be an email from a Gmail account to the PediatricHeartCenter.org domain to test the mail system when the old server was set up.  It was sent on 24 Jan 2014 and had text reading "Intended for Mavericks1. -Jared".

On further research, I have learned that OS X Server sets Dovecot to use the MailDir format.  The email messages can be removed from the folders and put back, and as long as they were present in the folder to begin with (received by Dovecot originally), they reflect in the Mail.app on client computers.  Deleting a file in the "cur" folder causes the file to disappear in Mail.app. Copying the file back into the "cur" folder will cause the file to reappear without any modification of an index file or any other system component, as long as the file was properly formatted by Dovecot to be identifiable to that folder.
According to Dovecot.org's review of MailDir found here (http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Ma,ilboxFormat/Maildir), the file name can be broken into simple pieces: " [unixtimestamp].[process id].[hostName],S=<message size>,W=<virtual message size>/2,[status tags]".  The original MailDir++ specification requires the string ":2," to appear after the virtual size, but this file naming format is not legal in Mac OS X, so Dovecot is modified by Apple to use "/2," instead.
The Dovecot's wiki describes inserting new messages as follows:
    Mail delivery
Qmail's how a message is delivered page suggests to deliver the mail like this:
Create a unique filename (only "time.pid.host" here, later Maildir spec has been updated to allow more uniqueness identifiers)
Do stat(tmp/<filename>). If the stat() found a file, wait 2 seconds and go back to step 1.
Create and write the message to the tmp/<filename>.
link() it into new/ directory. Although not mentioned here, the link() could again fail if the mail existed in new/ dir. In that case you should probably go back to step 1.
All this trouble is rather pointless. Only the first step is what really guarantees that the mails won't get overwritten, the rest just sounds nice. Even though they might catch a problem once in a while, they give no guaranteed protection and will just as easily pass duplicate filenames through and overwrite existing mails.
Step 2 is pointless because there's a race condition between steps 2 and 3. PID/host combination by itself should already guarantee that it never finds such a file. If it does, something's broken and the stat() check won't help since another process might be doing the same thing at the same time, and you end up writing to the same file in tmp/, causing the mail to get corrupted.
In step 4 the link() would fail if an identical file already existed in the maildir, right? Wrong. The file may already have been moved to cur/ directory, and since it may contain any number of flags by then you can't check with a simple stat() anymore if it exists or not.
Step 2 was pointed out to be useful if clock had moved backwards. However again this doesn't give any actual safety guarantees, because an identical base filename could already exist in cur/. Besides if the system was just rebooted, the file in tmp/ could probably be even overwritten safely (assuming it wasn't already link()ed to new/).
So really, all that's important in not getting mails overwritten in your maildir is the step 1: Always create filenames that are guaranteed to be unique. Forget about the 2 second waits and such that the Qmail's man page talks about.
The process described by the QMail man page referenced above suggests that as long as a file is placed in the "new" folder, that a mail reader can access it.  The mail reader then moves the file to the "cur" folder and "cleans up" the "new" folder.  This is clearly happening in OS X, because the messages are moving from "new" to "cur", but IMAP is still not serving these foreign messages to the remote readers.
The thought crossed my mind that perhaps it is the fact that the host name does not match, which would cause the failure, however changing the "host" portion of the name from the old-server to the new-server did not fix the issue.  Even with the new server name in the file name, the inserted message fails to appear in client Mail applications.
Within the file their is header information that still references the old machine. I'd like to not have to change the email files, because this will violate the integrity of the message. Also, this might take a lot of time or incur risks associated with poor automated processing. The header information should not be referenced by Dovecot, because the wiki page describing MailDir notes that neither Dovecot nor Dovecot's implementation of IMAP refers to the messages header information when moving and serving these mail files.
Unlike when using mbox as mailbox format, where mail headers (for example Status, X-UID, etc.) are used to determine and store meta-data, the mail headers within maildir files are (usually) notused for this purpose by dovecot; neither when mails are created/moved/etc. via IMAP nor when maildirs are placed (e.g. copied or moved in the filesystem) in a mail location (and then "imported" by dovecot). Therefore, it is (usually) not necessary, to strip any such mail headers at the MTA, MDA or LDA (as it is recommended with mbox).
This paragraph leads me to believe that after the mail box is identified that the content of the file becomes irrelevant to the system which manages. This suggests that we should be able to inject messages into a mailbox and have the system serve them as though they had belonged in that mailbox all along. Yet I have not found a way to do this.
