Mail spam button on OS4?

okay i hate not having an spam button on my email, especially with all the idiots in the world who love to annoy us with all the ********.. does anyone know if OS4 will have that capability?

Like others here I have the same mail-usefulness-crippling issue. I get a non-trivial amount of spam - and have come to rely on the dual-layered approach of ISP AND local filtering. (ISP filtering is never enough if you also need to ensure you don't lose good mail.)
All the work-arounds above and on other threads are kludgy and lame IMO.
(Change your email address? C'mon, lame. ISP filtering only?!? Lame. Leaving a mac on 24hours a day for IMAP only?? ...really? These are solutions?)
It's not like just because we're mobile we suddenly don't need to filter junk mail any differently than we did on our macs.
Filtering and its adjustments are basic requirements today.
iPhone does, indeed require the Mail.app junk filter.

There are other ways also. I believe one was posted to the iWeb forum a while ago. Do a search for "encode email" or similar in the iWeb forums.

I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on a new mac book air early 2015, missing sent emails, I have yahoo mail, also spam button is grayed over does not work? I do know that my email did go through but I have no record of it. As a temporary fix I send myself a bc of any emails that are very important to me, this doesn't happen to every email only happens randomly. However the spam thumbs down is grayed over and does not work.

Hi,
You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

Problem with the "mail me" button

Since I installed both Iweb 09 and Snow Leopard, there is a problem with the "mail me" buttons on my websites. Nothing happens when i click on it even if i see my web adress when my cursor is on the button.
Do somebody had the same problem and do you know how to avoid it.

I checked your site and found that the mail me button was not overlapping or touching any other object and positioned entirely in the footer of the page. All looks good and it works for me. You might try moving the button, logo and counter to the bottom of the page content section, publish and see if that makes a difference for those computers that can't.
Try the following on your Macbook, open Safari, clear the cache (CommandOptionE), load your site and try again. If that makes it work for your MB tell your friends to clear their caches and try again. Might be something as simple as that.

Mail spam suddenly

Running 10.7.5, I have mail setup it has been working great for months. In the last week though I have started getting tons of spam in the following format.
From: Mail Delivery System
To: My email address on the server
Subject: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender
Body: Is basically my mail server telling me I sent something to a user but I never did.
To verify this I checked my smtp logs and I can see that nothing went out of my mail server, but I can see all the undeliverables pouring into my system and the end result is tons and tons of junk mail in my inbox.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might fight this spam?

Grab yourself a beer and go sit by the pool. That's about all you can do.
If the mail isn't going through your server, you have zero influence or opportunity to affect it. The likelyhood is that someone's just generating span using a random/dummy email address that happens to map back to you.
SMTP was never really designed to authenticate mail and while you can lock down your own server there is very little you can do to prevent others generating mail (spam) in your name.
If you're really interested, look at implementing SPF and/or DomainKeys. These add a layer of authentication to your messages that can elevate the trust of your real emails, but there's no guarantee that any remote mail server will honor them, or reject mail that comes from an invalid address (SPF) or isn't properly signed (DomainKeys).
I suppose as a good domain owner you should be implementing SPF and DomainKeys anyway, since these systems are only really effective when used by the majority, but it's not going to be a golden arrow that magically makes this problem go away, hence the beer.

'Undeliverable Mail' SPAM

I have recently started to get a fair amount of 'Undeliverable Mail' SPAM.
Anyone else getting this?

I've received the same before as have many others which is an indication a spammer has used your email address to appear as the sending email address for a bulk spam mailing.
Spammers do not provide a valid sending or return email address which is constantly changed and some spammers use a valid email address pulled from their list of "known good" email addresses.
This is likely what has occurred and if so, there isn't much if anything you can do about it.

Mail spam filters and phishing

Yesterday's UK Sunday Times gave an email address to which sufferers were advised to forward bank phishing emails - it is, presumably, a bank sponsored site which allows them to try and trace and/or stem this ever increasing tide of spam.
Most of these bank phishing emails are caught by me ISP before I even get them, but several do make it into my spam folder or in-tray. If the latter, I mark them as spam manually.
If I were to forward the emails that do reach me (after being manually marked or automatically filtered as spam) to the suggested address, would that affect the "learning" process of my Apple Mail spam filter?
I can't think how it could and I'm keen to help the banks reduce this tiresome avalanche of rubbish (which seems to be increasing) but I don't want to confuse my filtering process.

Mail Spam gone mad

Mail spam filtering is too strong!
I ask here, as I don't mind delving into XML files and doing search and replace with Textwrangler if someone has an idea how to isolate what is spam and what is not. So is there a file I can edit that forces it to only consider certain keywords and e-mail addresses spam?
I want to create an automatic filter that is neither too strong, nor too weak.

Hi Tim.
This kind of problems are caused by some corruption in one or more of the files used by the junk filter. Try this first:
1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail and disable junk mail filtering.
2. Quit Mail, then open it again.
3. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk mail filtering, and configure it however you wish.
4. Reset the junk database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).
Alternatively, instead of (or in addition to) disabling/enabling the junk filter, you may try switching from Automatic to Training mode, quitting Mail, then switching back to Automatic mode.

Adobe LiveCycle Designer, E-Mail Sende Button

ich benötige Unterstützung in 3 Punkten.
1.      Wie füge ich einen E-Mail Sende Button ein, wo ich immer wieder eine andere E-Mail Adresse als Empfänger eingeben kann.
2.      Kann ich einen eigenen Button z.B.: als Bild hinterlegen ?
3.      Zum Schluss sollten wir noch eine Rückmeldung erhalten, dass die E-Mail versendet wurde bzw. angekommen ist.

Though not an expert, I've created a few forms with the Submit by Email button. If you've already done this then sorry for asking, but did you go through the Acrobat Distribution (Forms>Distribute Forms)process after creating the form in LC8? As far as I can tell the email submit button doesn't work without this stage.
This confirms the email submission address, then sets up a dataset to be saved in a location of your choice.
filename_dataset_0001.pdf
then a file type that can be edited, saved and submitted by Reader users:
filename_pub_0001.pdf
You can save this to your intranet server or email direct to the recipient.
When the submit button is then used you receive a copy of the whole form which on opening will prompt you to add it to the dataset. Receiving and adding multiple forms to the data set is straightforward. You will see them all listed in the viewer above the form itself. From here you can also then select and export the data to Excel via xml or as a csv file.
Note that any changes you make to the form should be to the original document and the distribution process repeated, otherwise the functionality of the form will be affected.
That's about the limit of my knowledge I'm afraid, therefore if you have already tried this and are still having problems then hopefully someone else can help out.

Where is Mail signature button?

Can anyone tell me where the Mail signature button is? I click "New Message" and it should be in the toolbar. I can customise the toolbar easily but have not seen the Mail signature button anywhere. Searches for a picture of it found nothing and all the tutorials seem to be for an outdated version of Mail.

hmm, since the 10.6.7 update, my signature are gone ...
so, what i just did is this:
● go mail > preferences > signatures
● do this
● followed by this
now click on +new message+ and the signature button should be there (at least it worked for just now).

wir nutzen die oben genannte Software, zur Erstellung von Webformularen als PDF. Anwendungs soll sein, dass unterschiedliche Formalere von einem Handy aus ausgefüllt werden können und diese über einen E-Mail Sende Button an uns verschickt in die Firma gesendet werden. Sendeformat sollte das ausgefüllte PDF Formular sein.
Ich bitte um Tipps wie wir dies am besten lösen können.

Da hier leider keiner antwortet hab ich nach guten 5 Stunden suchen endlich die Lösung gefunden.
Die Lösung ist sehr sehr einfach.
Für die,die es interessiert und am selben Problem verzweifeln an dem ich verzweifelt habe,hier die Lösung:
Klick auf den "E-Mail Schaltbutton"-> Objekt -> Feld -> E-Mail-Adresse"
Nun einfach eine Email Adresse eingeben und mit einem " , " getrennt die zweite. WICHTIG: ohne Leerzeichen vor und hinter dem " , ". Das war das winzige Detail das mich 5 Stunden meiner Arbeit gekostet hat. Hier ein Beispiel:

[email protected], [email protected] <- FALSCH
[email protected] ,[email protected] <- FALSCH
[email protected] , [email protected] <- FALSCH
Ich hoffe die Erklärung war verständlich genug.

User Participation -- Collaborative e-Mail SPAM Filter -- ??Possible??

Mail...I like it...can't wait until Leopard is released to get easy to use HTML templates. This is not my point.
I am curious about SPAM. Is there some way that Mail can have a button...like a Junk button for instance that tells not only my system that a particular e-mail is junk BUT will go out to other Mail users and tell their system that an offending e-mail is Junk too.
There could be some sort of algorhythm/classification system so that an e-mail could have the chance to defend itself based on content. But an offending e-mail that we all tag as Junk would be automatically removed from all of our inboxes without us even seeing the **** thing.
I would love this. If I see another viagra ad, lottery winning, bank scheme, ***** enlargement, etc. e-Mail...I think I'll just forget e-mail altogether and go back to snail mail. SPAM e-Mail exhausts, enfuriates and takes up bandwith. Please, Apple engineers...let Mail users work together to eliminate SPAM. Maybe a few of us will have to read these things...but together we can eliminate much of this stuff.
Is this possible? Or better yet...is it available now?

Outlook 2013 Mail Option buttons not working

Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 issue where in Outlook File>Options>Mail the "Spelling and Autocorrect", "Signatures", and "Stationary and Fonts" buttons will not respond. I have searched and searched but I cannot make these
buttons work.
Solutions I have tried with no results:
Running Outlook in Safe Mode
Disabling all Com-Addins
Reinstalled Outlook
Ran Office Repair
Re-created Mail Profiles
Disabled HIPS protection
Changed Registry values in:
    HKCU>Software>Policies>Microsoft>Office>15.0>Common>MailSettings
    HKCU>Software>Microsoft>Office>15.0>Common>MailSettings

Tried to get to signature through MS Word
I am unable to navigate to the location of the signature block and I am able to place signatures there through adding .rtf, .htm, and .txt file. I am able to add them into the email, but when I choose "signatures" no window opens to add/edit current
signatures.
Please Help! I cannot think of anything else to try!

What version of Windows and Outlook 2013 are you using? The registry value we need to modify is different according to the version of Windows and Outlook.
32-bit version of Windows

Please make sure you have modified the correct registry value.
In addition, please also make sure you have entered the correct path to Outlook.exe for the registry value. It's recommended to navigate to the path in Explorer first and then copy and paste the path to the data filed of the registry values.

Outgoing mail spam blocker

I know this has been reported before, but it has become a real problem for me in the last two days and I am really getting annoyed.
I send out an email newsletter and other messages via a Yahoo group, and Tuesday my main message was blocked, and yesterday two more messages were blocked. I tried a chat with a Verizon rep, and the rep told me I could not send a message to more than 500 people - I patiently explained that I was sending it to *ONE* address which then took care of distribution, but was still *required* to try sending it to another address to verify I was not sending out 500 messages. Sheesh.
The chat was USELESS.
I have forwarded all three messages on to the "big brother spam permission" email address, and of course they do not respond, but only tell you to try an hour later to see if they "have adjusted their filters."
I understand that Verizon considers their mail system to be "free" and thus of low priority, but come on guys - this is the worst customer service I have seen lately.

As stated in the Spam FAQ page, you will not get any response when sending the message to [email protected] for review. You attach the message that you are unable to send, and they review it. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the filter will either be updated to allow the content that was previously blocked, or it will be determined to be a legitimate block and no changes will be made.
Some troubleshooting steps you can try:
If you have a signature, try removing one line at a time from it and attempting to send the message again. Some signatures look like "ads" to the filters, apparently.
If you are using a pop3 client (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) try sending your message from the verizon.net website. If this resolves the issue, then it is something that your client is adding to the message that is causing it to be blocked.
If the Subject line of your message has a whole bunch of "Fwd: Fwd: Re: Fwd:" try removing some of them.
Remove any links/URLs from the email one at a time to isolate if one of them is causing the block.
Some people have suggested sending the message to [email protected] for investigation. This may work for you as well.
