Mail uses wrong identity when sending mail but only in a very specific case

Hey there we have a very strange thing happening here. There are two accounts in apple mail. user 1 is set as the default account and when user 1 replies to email sent to him it works as it should. When email is sent to user 2 and he replies it works correctly as well. But when an email comes addressed to both user 1 and user 2 and user 1 replies it is being sent as user 2 not user 1. Any ideas on what is causing this?
Thanks for your help

When both addresses in the To header are setup in Mail, Mail defaults to choose the first address listed in the distribution. You have to manually change that, or have separate User Accounts on this Mac for each user, and in that case each user would only setup his/her account.

  • Using FetchType.LAZY when sending entity to remote client

Is it possible to use FetchType.LAZY when sending an entity (let's say Person) to a remote client? I'm fine with the fact that a call to person.getAddress() would have to return null o throw an exception of some sort. But, is it possible to even send the Person object when using lazy fetching?

yeah, if you add the CMP jars to the client, it should work, but, if they attempt to introspect the lazy collection, a runtime exception will be thrown since their local copy does not have access to the backing DB... ..I understand the hesitance to have separate object types for different consumers, but, in some cases, it can save time in the long run because you a) avoid these access exceptions and b) have a middle API that can insulate the client or server from changes on the other end (i.e. the server now holds all 'tenants' as a Set, rather then List, but the VO objects still return it as a List so that client code does not need to be updated). You can also find tools to generate the value objects, so your development costs aren't too much hire during the initial release...

  • Is it possible i am using duplicate charger for charging battery but battery life is very short 6 hours what's the problem

Is it possible i am using duplicate charger for charging battery but battery life is very short 6 hours what's the problem

First, the battery. The recalled battery replacements have not held up well, and, unfortunately, feedback on the Apple site isn't what I would call complementary about their batteries. When I replaced mine, I got a Newer Technology battery from OWC at http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/BAP17AL60RS/ . Mine has 104 cycles on it and 4113 mAh capacity.
Now, charging. There are only 4 components in the charging circuit: Power adapter, DC-in card, battery and logic board. It sounds like your power adapter, being newer, is probably fine. Where the power adapter plugs into the computer, is that jack loose? If you put a pen or pencil on it and push it a little, gently, does it wiggle side-to-side? If so, your DC-in card may be bad. Assuming the battery stats are good and the battery is good, it should charge. Sooo, last but not least, is the logic board. Probably the best thing you can do is find a friend with a Powerbook or visit an Apple store or Apple authorized service provider to use another power supply that they know works (just to be sure) and a substitute battery (again, to be sure). If indeed yours are good, and I went through this a few months ago with one of our Powerbooks, you can replace the DC-in card, and if that doesn't work, then the logic board.
If you want Apple to do that, have them send it to the Apple depot, where they'll do whatever is required to put the Powerbook in close to new condition. Put an old, bad, Apple battery in it, so they'll replace it. Cost runs around $350 if the case isn't banged up, and if it is, the price can go up. When ours went in, they replaced the logic board and put a new battery in. Of course ensure your data is backed up, and if anything is really confidential, move it onto an encrypted disk on your hard drive or back it up and delete it.
If you have the store replace the logic board, it will run you more than double what they charge to send it to the depot.

Trust me when I say this coming from 20 years of experience.
Get a powered external drive, format it 1 Partition Option: GUID and OS X Extended Journed as the format in Disk Utility.
Download and install Carbon Copy Cloner, clone internal drive to external drive.
Set a schedule to remind you to do it at least once a week, keep it near your charger.
When you plug your charger in, do plug the clone and power the machine up, set the display to sleep only,
    CCC will do the rest.
If you want to boot from it, hold the option/alt and select it Startup Manager.
I've seen many TimeMachine and TimeCapsule nightmares and so far haven't seen a problem from anyone using a bootable clone.
It's simple, it's easy, it's more reliable and more powerful than what Apple does and it only takes plugging in a extra cable.
Make as many clones as you want, keep them time seperated, off site etc. etc.
Cables don't have network issues, clones can be verified in seconds merely by booting from them.
Clones protect your productivity, your up in seconds on a clone despite even the hard drive dying.
Software problem? No sweat, boot of the clone and reverse clone your problems away.
If you want to fuss and muss with half implemented TimeMachine and TimeCapsule network headaches then prepare to suffer.
I don't like to suffer, I bought a Mac not to suffer, but it appears you do with TimeMachine and TimeCapsule.

I am having much difficulty using any software drum program. I am trying to use EZ Drummer and the drum programs in Logic, with limited success. I was using them, and they were working, but this is no longer the case. Please help me navigate my way through these issues, if possible.

    Aha! I have sorted it.
For those with similar problems, the solution is this:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
    Then delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

  • Used wrong password to send photo in e-mail.  How do I fix it?

I am a new mac user and just got a mac recently.  I tried to send a photo in an email and when it asked for my email address and password, I mistakenly entered the wrong password and now I can't get it to do anything.  I saw this same question somewhere else, and the answer was to to go iphoto preferences and make the change there.  But, I can't find any preferences for iphoto anywhere on my computer.   Any suggestions?  Thanks much.

The path is in iPhoto - iPhoto menu ==> preferences ==> accounts - select the problem account and edit it
also iPhoto has this neat feature called "HELP" - go to the help menu in iPhoto nad type account and select the e-mailing photos entry
    Email your photos
You can email photos directly from iPhoto, using themes (designs) that beautifully arrange your photos. Each theme includes placeholder text that you can edit to add descriptions, captions, or other text alongside the photos.
If you want recipients to be able to use the photos you send, rather than simply view them, you can attach the photo files to your email message. Recipients can then download the photos from the email message and print them, use them in their own projects, and so on.

Watch the movie (about 2 minutes)
    Email your photos
You can email up to 10 photos (however, some of your recipients might use Internet service providers that don’t accept messages over a certain size).
If you use the Mail application included with Mac OS X, iPhoto automatically uses the first account in Mail Accounts preferences to email your photos. You can set up different iPhoto Mail accounts and choose which one to use when you send the email.

  • My inbox says its receiving 200 mails but only 3 in the inbox, why is this? It also says its sending 3 when I am only sending 1.

When using mail the system shows information that it has received mail (today it said 300) but only 2 or 3 come up in the inbox. It never used to do this. Why? Similarly when sending mail it says sending 3 of 3 when I am only sending 1 email.

    Back up all data.
Select the problem mailboxes in the mailbox list, then select
    Mailbox ▹ Rebuild
    from the menu bar.

  • Clicking on rreply and forward: link uses wrong account to send mail.

I read the answer of the expert about similar questions, but I believe there is a bug in TB. I follow instructions but it isn't possible to change the default email address: I uncheck the checkmark on the accounts that I don't want as default, but when I restart TB, they are newly checked (I find more than one account checked, so that I can't check just one...). Furthermore, nevertheless the desired account is on the top of the list, it isn't anyway the default "reply" or "forward" account

    Thank you.
I don't have the checkbox here. I'm guessing that's due to a setting in Windows Explorer to offer a select checkbox against every item. I don't think it's especially useful or relevant to this particular drop-down menu.
In my case, the "Default account" option on the menu is greyed out on the account that is already designated as the default, and active on all the others. There's no distracting checkbox to confuse matters.
You might like to try the ManuallySortFolders add-on as an alternative way to set the default account.

  • E63:Sync Outlook mail but only header visible

I manage to sync (active) with outlook on contacts, calendar and mail, but the mail pulls thro the header only. I know that some devices have settings to this effect but i have been unable to locate it on the E63. Or is it a setting in Outlook?

I have  the same question, however, using an e61i, or an e66.  Did you find a solution that would let you do this!?

  • Using  Data Pump when database is read-only

    Hello
I used flashback and returned my database to the past time then I opened the database read only
then I wanted use data pump(expdp) for exporting a schema but I encounter this error
    ORA-31626: job does not exist
ORA-31633: unable to create master table "SYS.SYS_EXPORT_SCHEMA_05"
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 95
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.KUPV$FT", line 863
ORA-16000: database open for read-only access
but I could by exp, export that schema
My question is that , don't I can use Data Pump while database is read only ? or do you know any resolution for the issue ?
    thanks

You need to use NETWORK_LINK, so the required tables are created in a read/write database and the data is read from the read only database using a database link:
    SYSTEM@db_rw> create database link db_r_only
      2   connect to system identified by oracle using 'db_r_only';
    $ expdp system/oracle@db_rw network_link=db_r_only directory=data_pump_dir schemas=scott dumpfile=scott.dmpbut I tried it with 10.2.0.4 and found and error:

I found in Metalink the bug 7331929 which is solved in 11.2! I haven't tested this procedure with prior versions or with 11g so I don't know if this bug only affects to 10.2.0.4 or 10* and 11.1*

  • Max memory used in imac 2007 is 4gb but only 3 gb is every used

imac mid 2007 24inch has 4 gb installed but only uses 3gb.

It seems that there is other data that is taking up space on the iPod. I suggest formating the iPod.
    Connect the iPod
    Open My Computer
    Right Click the iPod
    Choose Format
    Simply click ok.
Once you have formated the iPod you need to restore it (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983)
Then try and update the music on the iPod.

  • Unable to send mail, but only at my office (!)

This one is really strange. Lots of information gathered over the last 10 days or so, on which I can't send mail through two of my accounts.
I got this new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard factory-installed. This is not an upgrade problem.
I imported my user account from a Time Machine backup, but did not import any apps or system files. I had to install all my 3rd party apps, configure networking for my two locations (Home and Office), etc.
The problems started on 10.6.0. Mail couldn't send messages through any of my accounts. Receiving has always been OK. Updated to 10.6.1 and problems went away.
Since the 10.6.2 update, I can't send mail again, but in very special circumstances:
    - Only two of my mail accounts, hosted at my hosting provider, have this problem. Gmail works flawlessly, though I feel a little lag before actual mail is sent, specially at my office;
    - Only when I am at my office, where we use public IP addresses on the LAN. Everything works perfectly at home or other places (public hotspots, other networks, etc.) where private IP addresses are used on the LAN!
All other Macs at the office, which use Leopard (10.5), work fine and dandy. We don't use DHCP. All computers are configured manually and connect to the same wireless network. I already checked my firewall and both the ISP and hosting provider.
I already did everything mentioned in other threads here: repair permissions, rebuild mailboxes, everything! I even created another user account on my Mac and configured everything from scratch. I didn't re-install Mac OS X, though.
    Any ideas?

    Barry,
I did that. I also tried deleting that plist and reconfiguring all my mail accounts, but that didn't work.
Then I thought I could get the problem solved by creating a new user account on my Mac -- a clean home folder should eliminate the culprit --, but it didn't work either.
I decided to give up on that, now that I can send mail anyway. I will let this question as unanswered so people can suggest possible fixes.
Thanks for caring and trying to help!
One more piece of info that can help:
    - Connection Doctor showed me a red bubble for these accounts, telling me to check the username and password.
    - Looking at the details (log drawer of Connection Doctor), I saw that my mail server was responding with a 250 code, but Mail waited 30 seconds to send the EHLO command. By that time, the server had timed out.
    - Mail would then try again, but this time it would send a HELO command, which my mail server does not accept.

  • Can't send mail; but only some times

Since I updated my computers to Tiger I have the same problem on all of them.
Mail doesn't send mail, I have to quit and try again and again until it does. Read all articles about similar problems but non of them helped. As far I understand there is something going on with the port 25, but then, why some times it works some times doesn't?
Maybe I just switch to Thunderbird, but that's also a pain because Mail doesn't let one simply import to another mail program.

What does “Mail doesn't send mail” mean? What’s the problem exactly? What error messages do you get, if any? Are this mail account and the associated outgoing (SMTP) server provided by your ISP or by someone else? More info, please.

  • Using iPhoto&Cloud to send photos but...

I feel like such a nitwit but Mt Lion and Cloud have me struggling at every turn.
Just now I had some photos on my Canon Xti digital camera and connected it to my new iMac. Uploaded the contents, then in iPhoto tried to group about a dozen of the photos, putting them into an album. Fine, no problem. Ive done this many times before. But...before Mt Lion and iCloud.
I simply want to make this album of photos available to some friends, available for viewing and downloading if they want. So I click on the Album, then Share icon in lower right corner, then select email. OK except that I now have an open Mail window and it tells me the message size is 4.56 MB for 26 photos. Is this correct? I mean, I am using iPhoto to do this rather than attaching all these photos to an email and sending that way because I know it would be too much to send via email for most people. But this does not seem any different. Am I getting this right? And if it is, how do I know? That is, how do I look into my iCloud and see what is there, what's been send, etc.
I know this sounds ridiclously newbie-ish and as if I have not bothered to read up, but I am not a newbie, I have read up but the actual things that happen; that I am presented with as I try to do something simple like this, are never explained or made clear.
There are so kmany assumptions such as, go to your iCloud account and view such and such. There are very many intermediate steps left out.
So, in short, where is this album on my piece of the cloud? And how do I access it and make it clear to others how thay can access it?

Create either a public or shared Photo Stream in iPhoto and publish it.  Here's how:
If it's a public PS they will receive an email like this:
If it's a private PS the email will be this:
Note the circled text in each screenshot.
