Mailbox Repair Request - does it work?

Current ver. -Ex2010 SP3 //RU4
So few times now I have tried the new-mailboxrepairrequest and have no result.. I had tried all corruption types "searchfolder, folderview,aggregatecounts, provisionedfolder, messageptagcn, messageID"
when the command runs, it immediately gives me a reference ID that can be checked in application logs on mailbox server.. strangely within the next second it is completed successfully. I would think if i run it on a big mailbox it will take some
time to complete?
Also techNet documentation says it disrupts the access to mailbox when it is being repaired.. in my experience mailbox was online all the time
Thoughts?? can someone share their experience

Thank you for your question.
By my testing, when we run “New-MailboxRepairRequest” on mailbox, we will see the details which mailbox was repaired in application log.
If we run the command again and it reminder success, we could check if there is Event ID 10049 which is in application log, the more details we could refer to the following link:

    I'll have to get a better instructor on deleting the preferences since when I've doen it in the past nothing is there when I open LR the catalog is gone. I assumed that was what was supposed to happen so I start importing all over again.  But that is a different issue...
    The problem has been happening since at least the beta of 3 came out and I saw other posts back then saying they had similar issues but I assume it was a beta thing...  But since the full version came out and through each incremental change I haven't seen an improvement. If anything it has gotten a little worse with time.
    I have to try to be careful to not be in a hurry and start clicking around in the catalog as it seems fragile until it has cataloged all the photos in the library. When starting you will see the numbers populate the folders very slowly and I try not to click on a folder that hasn't had the number of photos pop up yet. Also draging the slider down to see more of the cataloge can have the same affect and crash the system.
    I wish I had more to go on.. I believe it may be a resources issue but as I went from 3-4 Gig I thought it would get better. I don't have big programs running but did have outlook and word running in the background along with firefox and chrome.
    And yes it only happens on this HP desktop (it's 2+ yrs old) and may be showing it's age a bit. My laptop which has less resources doesn't have the issue.. I have them sharing the catalog. (not at the same time) just when I'm working in other places in the house.

    Hi fellows
    I get the following error information when signing a document only when I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro in the Internet Browser:
    Creation of this signature could not be completed. 
    Error encountered while signing: 
    Timestamp signature property generation error: 
    Transport connection timed out.
    This error only  occurs if a request to the time stamp server should be established. By using only the local computer time, the signature is placed and marked as valid in the browser. By using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 without Internet Explorer, the connection with the time stamp server works without exceptions, the legal time is used to sign the document. I tested various browsers, but have still the same error information.
    Does somebody have an idea what I can do to fix this problem?

    Hi Leonard,
    It should work (or to put it another way, it works for me). My guess is there is a proxy server issue. If I'm right it's likely that the browser is not configured to use the proxy server.

    I have been trying for 2 weeks to request battery replacement for my 20GB iPod but am unsuccessful. I get to the page to enter my credit card information and it times out each time. Is there someone I can talk to, or perhaps do this so that it does Not time out?

    if you have an apple store close to you, that would be the ideal solution. otherwise, try another computer...

  • ICloud/iCal meeting request does not work

    I currently use iCal/iCloud on my Lion MacBook Pro.
    In the past, using MobileMe, I would be able to send meeting requests to WinTel/Exchange recipients. The email that the recipient would receive gave them the options to accept, decline or Tentative. These were always useless and misleading options as choosing on these did nothing to add to the recipients calendar. It was only a way to notify me, the sender, of their response. The recipient would have to take the additional step of double clicking on the attached .ics file to add to their calendar.  If the recipient did not choose one of the three options but double clicked on the .ics file, I was never notified of their response.
    But things have gotten worse with iCloud. Now, the recipient receives the same email, with the three options that now do nothing, but when the recipient double clicks on the .ics file, it shows that the recipient is the creator of the event and cannot add to their calendar or modify. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE REQUEST.
    I just had a Chat with support and was informed that any recipient that I want to send a meeting request to MUST have an iCloud account and have the panel installed. This is not only cumbersome but in most cases not doable. Some of my meeting requests are to recipients in corporate environments and have restrictions on sites and apps.
    How is Apple to be taken serious in the business environment with these types of restrictions?

    Thank you for your quick feedback.  Maybe my situation is a  little different, since I am on an Exchange 2010 server myself.  My "accepted" does not even get mailed out. And when I receive an "accepted" mail, iCal and/or the server do not recognize it.
    I talked to the Apple support yesterday on their hotline and they claimed they never heard about it. Whereas our IT department, who is in charge for many thousand users, is also in touch with Apple directly and says that they have several users with this issue....
    Anyway, did you activate in both iCal and Mail.app that calendar data are retrieved automatically?

  • Upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 now Find Service Request does not work.

    I recently upgraded our Test machine from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 (RHEL 4.8). After performing the install and applying appropriate patches and most recent CPU when I attempt to 'Find Service Request' I can search by number, choose the correct SR I want in the form and click open. However when the SR form opens it just defaults to a new SR instead of the one returned in the search results. I have generated all form files again and that did not change anything. I have searched and not come across anything that appears to be applicable. Anyone have any ideas?

    I am logged in as myself and using the 'Service' responsibility.
    Service -> Service Requests -> Find Service Requests
    versions:
    CSXSRISR 120.208.12010000.84
    I do the search and I find it, however when it goes to open the result the sr form is as it is new.
    Oddly enough if I go under sysadmin and use the same responsibility, same path and search the sr will open the returned result.
    As sysadmin however it has a different layout in the 'folder' at the top of the screen. Could this be causing the difference or should that matter?

    I have a Lenovo T430 laptop (2342CTO). When I wiped my hard drive (after a Windows 7 boot failure), I installed Ubuntu 13.04 instead.
    Now, I want to reset my PC back to Windows, and I have the factory reset disks (3 disks). I tried booting into them but it won't work. I can't reset my PC anymore.
    My PC had Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit preinstalled onto it when it was shipped to us. Probably because I have Ubuntu now, there is no recovery partition anymore, and so it cannot reset.
    Please help find a way to get my old Windows back. Thank you.

    From your error description, I recommend you do the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Please run CHKDSK and restart server.
    2. Run a Database level Mailbox repair request.

    I am trying to open a service request and the site does not work with ANY browser. I get the page https://getsupport.apple.com/GetParts.action which says "Send in for service. We just need a little more information." The continue button does not work. I've seen this problem before trying to file support requests. It's as if Apple simply does not want you to create requests.

    I just went through several screens and had no problems.  Try clearing your browser's cache and/or history.

    I live in Argentina. I bought a new iphone 3gs unlocked on January 20th, 2012, in Aventura Mall in Miami, Florida. I arrived in Buenos Aires last Saturday, 28th, turned it on, and it never worked. It shuts down, and freezes for long periods of time, strange things appear on the screen, basically, it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.
    I want to give it back, and get my money back, but there's no contact mail, or telephone I can call from Argentina. There are only 1-800 telephone numbers which I cannot use from here. Also, there is no official Apple Store or Repair Centre here in Buenos Aires.
    I call to the Aventura Apple Store and a machine answers me, and does not re-direct my call to a repair centre or support centre.
    I find no way to contact Apple regarding my problem. It seems I could only contact them if I lived in USA.
    I can't believe I have bought an Apple product that does not work, and that I cannot claim to anybody. I have no way of asking for a replacement.

    This is the way of Apple all over the world, Their toll free telephone numbers for AppleCare support are all country specific.  Apple does not provide an international support number anywhere.

    How to identify iMac models
    1. Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Startup Disk and check to besure the that OS X 10.6 on the Macintosh HD is set as the Startup Disk.
    2. Start up from you Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD, navagate to Utilities > Disk Utility and Repair the Macintosh HD.
