Maintain Multiple Personnel Assignments

Hi,
Can any one please explain what SAP means with the statement ' If Concurrent Employment is enabled, employees with multiple personnel assignments can log on to the Portal with one user and maintain data for all assignments under this user, removing the need to log on separately, and saving time for your employees.' This can be found in the EP4 documentation section - Business Package for Employee Self-Service 1.41 - Technical Description and Configuration Information - Concurrent Employment and Global Employment Customizing -
We're planning to install EP4 into our system that is using CE. We're trying to get a better understanding of what it really means.
Does that statement mean that you only have a single SAP logon id (PA0105-0001) for all personnel assignments/PERNRs or one SAP logon id (PA0105-0001) per pernr?
Is it specific to only the ESS component or does it apply to ESS and the other possible backend ERP components like MM, PS, PM, AS, etc... that this person may have access to?
Does that mean that they will only have the one logon id to logon to SAP and use it to access the different SAP modules they have access to via their multiple personnel assignments?

Hi Jerry,
There are two terminology in SAP one is personal number and other one is perso ID (Global ID). You know what is personnel number. I am explaining about Global ID.
Global ID means- one person will have multiple PERNR but unique Global ID. Generally it is applicable for multi country roll out project to have uniqu ID. Also you can use for one country when PERNR will be chnaged based on personal area or company code change.
I am just explaining with Example.
We have multi country roll out project for Country US, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, and so on. Requirement is when person will move from one country to other as Hiring expat/Inpat, different PERNR will be generated but Global ID will be same. In my case, if Canada employee is going to US, then we need to perform Long term absence action in Home Country Canada so that employment status will be Inactive, (You can also perform termination action in home country). Then Hire same person in Host country in US. While Hiring in other Country for existing PERNR, system will pop up one screen with 2 options New contract & Execute Infogroup. You click on new contract so that system will generate next availability PERNR in US but Global ID will not chnage. Global ID can be store in IT0709.
While coming back from US to Canada, you need to perform Return from long term absence so that employment ststu will be active in home country.
To active Global ID, you need to do following set up.
1. Go to Table T77s0 > maintain below switches.
CCURE     ADDCO     X     Further Pers.Assignmnt or Processing of Info Group
CCURE     GLEMP     X     Management of Global Employees
CCURE     MAINS     X     Concurrent Employment Main Switch
CCURE     PAUIX     X     CE Master Data User Interface Enhancements
CCURE     PIDGN     1     Generation Rule PERSONID
CCURE     PIDSL     X     Selection with PERSONID
2. Activate one switch technically like below.
Technically- Go to Tcode > SE24 > CL_HRCE_MASTERSWITCHES > double click on CHECK RELEASED then activate ceis_released =True by deleting *.
Then Global ID field will be activated. let me know if you have any question on this.

    Hi Experts
    Can anybody tell me how to assign multiple personnel numbers for each operation confirmation of the production order. System is not allowing me to assign the multiple employee codes in the confirmation.
    I have maintained No. of individual capacities in the work center capacity category of Labor and assigned one personnel number for each individual capacity.
    I have tried to change the confirmation screen settings in the IMG, but still system is not allowing me to assign multiple personnel numbers.
    Please suggest me how to achieve this.

    For example let us assume that we have created 2 payments formats as 'XX-PAY1' & 'XX-PAY2'.
    When i select the parameter as '1' then 'XX-PAY1' has to run else 'XX-PAY2'.
    if its possible could you please tel us where to define the parameters in Setups.

  • Service PO - Multiple account assignments for service line items

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to create a service purchase order using BAPI 'BAPI_PO_CREATE1'.
    But i need to create service line items with multiple account assignments say
    For line item 10 -
    1)Service line 1 -Cost center 'XYZ'.
    2)Service line 2 -Cost center 'ABC'.
    In POACCOUNT there is no option to specify the service line item .
    Moreover in POSERVICES also there is no option to mention costcenter.
    How can i create the same...

  • How can I maintain multiple white spaces in a PDF written from InDesign?

    I need to have 2 white spaces maintained (within a part #) in the PDF I write, but when I open in Acrobat it converts it to one space.
    I've tried word spaces, set spaces and applying "no color" to a placeholder character and nothing is working!
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    I am talking about normal white space. Multiple fixed widt spaces are not a problem. How the space is handled in a PDF depends on how it is created.

    It may not be a great idea to use multiple spaces, but it certainly is not prohibited and sometimes is necessary -- you might want a 2em space, or a thin space before and after a tab you underline in a form.
    I'm able to select the multiple spaces just fine in Acrobat 9 using the text touch-up tool.

  • Best Practice in maintaining multiple apps and user logins

    Hi,
    My company is just starting to use APEX, and none of us (the developers) have worked on this before either. It is greatly appreciated if we can get some help here.
    We have developed quite a few applications in the same workspace. Now, we are going to setup UAT and PRD environments and also trying to understand what the best practice is to maintain multiple apps and user logins.
    Many of you have already worked on APEX environment for sometime, can you please provide some input?
    Should we create multiple apps(projects) for one department or should we create one app for one department?
    Currently we have created multiple apps for one department, but, we are not sure if a user can login once and be able to access to all the authenticated apps.

    I am not sure how much of this applies to your situation - but I will share what I have done.
    I built a single 700+ page application for my department - other areas create separate smaller applications.
    The approach I chose is flexible enough to accomdate both.
    I built a separate access control application(Control) in its own schema.
    We use database authenication fo this app - an oracle account is required.
    We prefer to use LDAP for authentication for the user applications.
    For users that LDAP is not option - an encrypted password is stored - reset via email.
    We use position based security - priviliges are based on job functions.
    We have applications, appilcations have roles , roles have access to components(tabs,buttons,unmasked card numbers,etc.)
    We have positions that are granted application roles - they inherit access to the role components.
    Users have a name, a login, a position, and a site.
    We have users on both the East Coast and the West Coast, we use the site in a sys_context
    and views to emulate VPD. We also use the role components,sys_contexts and views to mask/unmask
    card numbers without rewriting the dependent objects(querys,reports,views,etc.)
    The position based security has worked well, when someone moves,
    we change the position they are assigned to and they immediately have the privileges they need.

  • Maintaining Multiple Vendor Phone Fax and Email using IDOC

    Hello Guru's,
    I have a requirement where I must be able to maintain multiple phone and fax entries for all of our vendors.  Is there a standard segment in IDOC CREMAS05 that will allow for this maintenance?  Or will I have to use a separate BAPI / FM?  I think there must be a standard way for doing this.
    As of now it appears the CREMAS05 IDOC only supports the ability to maintain one phone/fax or email address at a time, which is in the LFA1 table, and not at the address table level (ADR2, ADRC, ADRT, etc.).
    This is for an R/3 System running on EHP5.

    If I create a PO for goods with multiple account assignments the GR will not be valuated, but if I do the same for a service PO the GR will be valuated.
    What is the reason for this?

    Hi,
    There is more of a qualitative response to the issue, rather than quantitative, If you go through SAP Note 204252 for GR of material it says that: "We have not implemented this function since users who post goods receipts would have to determine the distribution to individual account assignment items during partial deliveries. Generally, users cannot or should not determine this.
    An automatic distribution also causes problems and is also not implemented due to technical reasons".
    Means basically here a stores guy is doing GR and he maynot be competent enough to decide on the Account assignment front.
    However in general the service entry sheet is filled by departments who have got the work done, and are aware of the account assignment for that work.

    You can leave the Payment terms field in the sales area data tab blank. and you can enter the payment terms at line item level while creating the sales order. By that you will achieve multiple payment terms for the same customer in the same sales order. but the invoice will be split by standard SAP based on the payment terms.
    Also difference between the "Payment Terms" field in Company code tab and the sales Area tab is.
    Company code tab payment terms are used only for the documents that are posted directly in FI module. for example credit and debit memos posted directly in FI and as a leading practice this should always be "payable Immidiately"
    Sales area Tab payment terms are the one which are copied on to the sales order header data which are valid for all the line items unless you specifically mention different payment terms at line item level.

  • Parked MM invoice and multiple account assignments (table RBCO) ?

    Hi.
    Could someone please explain how the table RBCO works for parked MM invoice and multiple account assignments.
    What I have observed in this table are:
    1. Every position (table RSEG)  in the invoice can have several lines (table RBCO) with account assignment.
    2, If there is only one record for a position, the key in the table RBCO starts with 0002, field RBCO-COBL_NR (???)
    3. IF I add one more line to the psoition, the first line CHANGES the key in table RBCO from 0002 to 0001 and the second line gets RBCO-COBL_NR = 0002
    4. The third line gets 0003.
    5. If i delete line 1-2, the remaining one line gets a new key feild RBCO-COBL_NR = 0002.
    The reason for understanding how this works is that i need to make a Z-table storing the history of changes done to records in table RBCO (..don’t ask why...)
    Lest say, I make a change for in an invoice for one of the positions, how do I compare the values in the itab, YDRSEG[]-CO[]- with the lines in table RBCO ?
    And whats the logic for the key in table RBCO?

  • Jumpstart/JET - How to maintain multiple versions of patch clusters

    Is there a way to maintain multiple versions of the recommended patch cluster with JET? Since Sun uses the same filename (10_recommended.zip) but releases several versions over time, its hard to keep new systems at the same baselines as ones built previously. So when I download a patch bundle I always rename it to the date downloaded (ie 10_Recommened_10SEPT2010.zip) Is there a way to integrate this into JET?

  • Maintain multiple address for vendor

    User purchase article from vendor A at addess#1 but returned article back to vendor A via address#2. Vendor has 2 different departments handling delivery and returns.
    How can I configure 2 adddress for the same vendor code?
    If I had to used a partner function, what suggested partner function should I used?
    My PO order entry currently only accept vendor code.
    Suppose I need to add in a partner, like sold-to and ship-to in SD, is there a way to configure the screen?

    What is the bussiness reason for multiple addresses for the same vendor?
    If the vendor maintains several different physical locations at different addresses, then they should be created as different vendor master records. Then, if they all use the same payment office, they can be partnered to the same invoicing vendor.
    If you need to add a seperate address for the supplier location, payment location, billing location, etc, then you must create each of them using the correct account group and use partnering to tie them all together.
    Also, there is a way to maintain multiple addresses for the same vendor - but this is used for maintaining different international versions of the same address. (See the international button) - which requires some configuration in central address management.
    Or,
    Go for one-time-vendor concept else it is not possible .
    Also,
    Partner function can be used to maintain different address.
    This is the advantage of keeping the partner function in vendor account groups.
    You create different vendor codes for different addresses and assign the same.

    We need also to be able entering hours for multiple personnel through CAT2. Tried using settings u201Center for several personnel nosu201D and u201Cselect via personnel listu201D but did not work .
    Any idea how to accomplish both requirements?

  • Subsequent credit to PO with multiple account assignments

    Good Morning -
    In ECC 6.0 when posting a subsequent credit to a purchase order that has multiple account assignments, the posting adds a commitment back onto the purchase order.  This works opposite of the subsequent credit that is posted to a purchase order that has a single account assignment.  Is there a fix that does not allow the commitment to be added to the purchase order?

    I would advice you to have a look at notes 1494239 and 1432085.
    And in case you enter new account assignment in MIRO (unplanned acc. ***) pls. read the notes 496557 and  1446793.
