Maintenance Mode For One Monitor

Is it possible to place one monitor in maintenance mode? Not the entire computer or object, but just that one monitor? I don't want other monitors for that object to be silenced though.

Hi,
A Windows Schedule task,

  • Colour profiles within PS are off for one monitor only?

    Hi guys,
I'm having a very strange issue with colour management in Photoshop CS2 currently.
Photoshop seems to be calibrating all documents in a strange way on only *one* monitor. If I drag the file across to the other monitor the colour is completely different.
Of course it sounds like my monitors being off, however when dragging the file across monitors Photoshop slowly updates the colours for the next monitor. You can see it display the wrong colour at first, then correct it (hopefully that makes sense).
Another symptom of it is when I go to 'save for web'. Here, the colours revert to what I believe are correct.
b It's worth noting that this has only started to happen since some Windows updates. One being an option update from Dell for my monitor - I can't seem to find any information about it though!
My tester that I've been using is a plain white to black gradient. What I'm seeing is a lot of cyan in the middle of the gradient. I've saved off an example:
    http://2dforever.com/photoshop.png
As you can see, all the greys are very green, but if you look at the gradient tool in the toolbar itself, the grey appears fine.
I'm unsure how I can adjust the colour profile from Photoshop for one monitor - am I missing something really obvious here?
Just to note: I'm on Win Xp SP2, Photoshop CS2, and I've cleared the preferences.

Since you only mention Photoshop as having a problem, this is almost
certainly, as you suspect, a monitor profile config problem.
Color profiles for individual monitors are configured in
    Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Settings>(Advanced Button)>Color
    Management.
In Settings, click on the monitor whose profile you want to verify before
clicking on the "Advanced..." button. I would start by adding and
defaulting the profile for the monitor that is causing problems.
The Microsoft XP color control panel applet makes setup easier, though it
is not really necessary. If the link below fails, google for keywords
Microsoft XP color control panel applet.

  • Two table maintenance generator for one table

Can we created two table maintenance generator for one ztable. if yes then what will be the steps.

    Hi Prem,
Why you need two table maintenance generator for a single table?
We can generate only single table maintenance  generator for a single table.
you can add modification event in  inside table maintenance if you need anything to change or validate in insde your table maintenance generator.

  • Any 3rd party utilities that fix full screen mode for multi-monitor users?

I am a multi-monitor user.  As multi-monitor users know, full screen mode is basically useless since if you try to go full screen on one monitor, it causes the other monitor to go blank and become unusable (at least with most programs).  Are there any 3rd party utitilities or fixes for this?
    Thanks

Spaces, which is what this functionality stems from, was limited in that it used your entire setup and switched all of the screens over; space to space. I never used spaces because I always had multiple monitors and I was always working with multiple apps simultaneously that I wanted to be able to reference while working on the others.
Now they call Spaces, "mission control" and changed the appearance of it, but the functionality remained the same, each workstation comprised all of your monitors, and would switch over all of them when switching to a new "Desktop".
Fullscreen apps wrongly assumes that it can take the functionality of the afformentioned MS/Spaces and use it for one app, negating the whole idea of why someone would have multiple screens (real estate to work with other applications).
If they stop considering multiple monitors as one Workspace, they can then make it so they are asynchronous "tablets" instead of one conjoined entity.
So, you say people have been asking about this for 2 years, I've been asking for this for 5!
The issue here is, the only answer is to not use it. Making Mission Control and Fullscreen apps completely ignored by people like us, where I could be using both functions to glide around my work station and three monitors, mixing and matching which apps I want to be viewed on each separate monitor, to perform one single task; together.
It would actually reward people who wanted to utilize Thunderbolt technology and have more then one monitor.
There is no telling why apple chose to push out something that would only support the casual user, with one display, but the only direct way to let apple know that we feel limited by the OS is to send feedback. Even though it seems that we are powerless in this situation, I hope that they do consider how to make this function better.

  • Maintenance Mode for Synthetic Transactions

    Hi,
I'm looking for some guidance on how to apply Maintenance Mode to specific Synthetic Transactions correctly via Orchestrator.  My setup is Orchestrator 2012 R2 (and SCOM 2012 R2)
I have an existing runbook which seems to run fine for placing a group of windows computers into maintenance mode - I 'think' it is ok, in 2012 there seems to be a single start maintenance mode activity targeting the windows computer object for this, wereas
in 2007 there were 3 objects to target - the windows computer, health service and health service watcher.
So now I'm trying to apply maintenance mode to specific Synthetic Transactions if possible - ie web application transaction monitors which run on 2 servers which are dedicated as watcher nodes for many other ST's aswell.  I had thought I had the issue
solved when I created the runbook to set Maintenance Mode targeting the specific Web monitors - when I execute the runbook I can see the spanner maintenance icon appearing against all the 'Closed' alerts from these monitors in the scom console - so I assumed
I was targeting the correct objects.
I've scheduled the runbook to trigger for the time when I know these monitors create alerts (ie when the web services are restarted nightly on the particular server web server and the site will be down) however I am still seeing the alerts come in to the
console (log history shows the runbook started OK on schedule) so I am wondering if there are other objects to put into maintenance - I assume I can't put the watcher node windows computer object into Maintenance Mode as this would be suspending the monitoring
of other Stnthetic transactions running on the watcher node servers?...
    Any advice much appreciated...

    Sure, no worries.
The authentication types can support 4 tyes of authentication from ntlm to basic.  If the site does not require authentication all the better, as the monitor will use less resourses and its easier to configure.
R2 supports something like 10000 transactions to be monitored.

  • Windows 8.1 forgets dpi / display size settings for one monitor on almost every reboot

    I use TV 32" with 1920x1080 and cintiq 13" with 1920x1080
when I boot my PC the resolution is fine but DPI is wrong.
In smaller monitor It's look like DPI is higher than the bigger one.
I already set dpi to be the same (smallest 100%) but it's not work until I do something to change display setting.
It's really annoy me. This problem is not happen when I use windows 8
Only solution I found is turn off
    "Turn on fast start-up".
When I do that It's boot like what I want. every monitor is the same DPI.
But it'll make my boot time longer.
It should be just start up windows and use the same dpi from the start.
So I think this problem is a bug in windows 8.1
    Best regards

    Thank you for reply.
I've already used the latest graphic card driver. But It's won't help this issue.
In registry editor. I check those variables then value of them is already set like that blog suggest.
So , it look like when windows start-up(with fast start-up) It use something like
suggest value for different monitor size instead of what I set in control panel. But when I turn off fast start-up windows use my setting value.
And I think there are a lot of people who got the same problem as me.
    Here is an example.

  • Multiple Settings for One Monitor

I have my monitor set to the way I like it, it shows colors accurately and not overly bright (white doesn't blind me). However I edit photos for the web in PS and this is great for my screen but I have noticed when looking at other screens my photos will at times looked washed out and not a good presentation. If I manually change my monitor settings to be brighter (and a few other tweaks) I can replicate the look of other monitors close enough to help prevent washed out/blown out photos. Here is the issue, I need to be able to change settings between the two fairly easily. To manually set my monitor for one then back to the other can be time consuming and a pain to set right every time.
I would like to be able to preset certain settings (in software) that I can quickly switch between by pressing hotkeys or clicking shortcut on my desktop. I have an AMD video card and have attempted to use the AMD VISION Engine Control Center to add presets then tweak the settings for each. However when I switch between the presets the settings are the same.
How do I build presets using the VISION Engine Control Center that actually works (maybe I misunderstand what it is saving?) or is there a way to do this in Windows 7 or free software that actually works decently for this purpose?
Note: I post this here as I assume someone here has done this or seen soemthing like this.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Why not to use a event based monitor to detect the Task Schedule running status? I am not familar with VB script, the suggestion I can give is you need to check if the script cannot properly detect the running result of the task Schedule.

  • Making short text field in Display mode for one particular Purchasing

    Hi All,
This is regarding Making the Short text field in Display mode of PR for one Particular Purchasing.. i am giving you a bit elaborate...We are into E-Catalog Procurement.I will do the shopping from the Vendors external catalog and i will return back to SAP.
While doing so, i dont want the user to change the Short Text field. I want that field shud display the Description. When i tried with the Screen Layout settings, it is fully grayed out and i am not able to see the Description of the Material. Is there any other options to get this enabled?. Please advice me on this settings to be done. Thanks in Advance.
    With Regards,
    Saakithyan

    Hi
Define a Field selection key (new not the one which is assigned to document type) which makes  short text editable in screen layout config. and assign it to functional authorization value in t.code OMET. (it should be numeric). Then assign that functional authorization value in user master SU01 for users with parameter id EFB.
    Then it will work

    Hi,
Did you solve the issue with the help the people above provided?
If you mean server draining feature you can also check Topology option on Lync Server Control Panel, on Topology interface, click “Action” and there is an action called “Prevent new sessions for service”.
Here is a similar case may help you:

  • Multiple Alerts for one Monitor

    Hi All,
I have a MP to monitor a scheduled task and get the last run status of the task and fire an alert if it is sort of not running.

    Regards, Mahadev Sundeep Maruvada

    Hi,
Why not to use a event based monitor to detect the Task Schedule running status? I am not familar with VB script, the suggestion I can give is you need to check if the script cannot properly detect the running result of the task Schedule.

  • PDF in readonly mode for one user, others can add info to it

I have a user who is not able to add a digital signature to a PDF form.  She is using the same version that the file was created with and I and another person can add a digital signature.  Why is her version shown that it is in readonly mode?

    Hi,
It could just be that the file's Read Only attribute is turned on. Have them right mouse click on the file and select Properties from the pop-up menu. On the Properties dialog make sure the "Read Only" checkbox is deselected.

  • JTREE request edit mode for one node

    hello,
    my jtree is editable
tree.setEditable(true); // double click on a node and it goes in "edit mode"
I would like to set a specific node into "edit mode" (just like when you create a new folder in windows - new folder appears in edit mode - you just have to type the name of the folder)
    //set the node selected
    setSelectionPath(new TreePath(newfolder.getPath()));
// set the node in edit mode - does not exist ???
    setEdit((new TreePath(newfolder.getPath())); ????
    Second question:
how can I avoid a specific node from being editable ?
// set all the nodes editable !!
    tree.setEditable(true);
    thanks a lot !

  • OM2012 – Putting a Monitor in maintenance mode

    Hi there,
I need to write a powershell script to put a Monitor in Maintenance mode. This is easily doable manually on the console whenever an alert comes up by putting the alert in Maintenance Mode.
So far I managed to make my script to put the class of the Monitor into maintenance, as per bellow
i.e. if the monitor is “Total CPU Utilization Percentage”, it would put  Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter in maintenance mode for the computer $ComputerName.
    $ComputerName = Read-Host “Enter computer name”
$MonitorName = “Total CPU Utilization Percentage”
    $Monitors=Get-SCOMMonitor -ComputerName $strComputerName | where {$_.DisplayName -eq $MonitorName}
    $Time = ((Get-Date).AddMinutes(6))
    foreach ($Monitor in $Monitors) {
    $Instance = Get-SCOMclass -name $Monitor.target.identifier.path | Get-SCOMClassInstance #| where {$_.Path -eq $ComputerName}
Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance -EndTime $Time -Comment: “Server maintenance”
I can’t figure our how to simply put “Total CPU Utilization Percentage” (or any other Monitor) in maintenance mode
    Thanks for your help !

  • SCCM 2012 Software Update Management for Windows Servers and how to automatic set SCOM maintenance mode?

    Hi,
We planning to go one level higher to automat and have more dynamic Software Update Management for Windows Servers. We have SCCM 2012 R2, SCOM 2012 R2 and SCO 2012 R2.
Our plan is to pur server in an AD-Group to get Update Schedule, from the servers will be importet to an Collection for Automatic Update and reboot. If I understand Everything right SCOM can't read AD-Group and put then in an Schedule maintenance mode. SCOM
can read reg value as exempel.
IS there any smar way to make the SCOM Maintenance Mode Schedule dynamic?
    I found this

You could use Orchestrator to put the servers from a specific collection, or AD group, in maintenance mode in SCOM. For an example see:

  • Maintenance mode is cancelled for no reason by the system

Hi, very unusual and sporadic problem.
Let's say we put a URL monitor into maintenance mode for 4 hours.
After 2 hours we reboot the URL hosting server.
The maintenance mode has been cancelled and the URL will alert again while we continue to work on it.
Should this happen ? The version is SCOM 2012 SP1 UR6.
    Thanks in anticipation.

If there is lot of data, Then add this string and userid like '%User name who silenced the URL%'
so this will totally filter the report to only all the servers / items silenced by a specific user.
So it will come like this
    USE OperationsManagerDW
    SELECT ManagedEntity.DisplayName, MaintenanceModeHistory.*
    FROM ManagedEntity WITH (NOLOCK)
    INNER JOIN
    MaintenanceMode ON ManagedEntity.ManagedEntityRowId = MaintenanceMode.ManagedEntityRowId
    INNER JOIN
    MaintenanceModeHistory ON MaintenanceMode.MaintenanceModeRowId = MaintenanceModeHistory.MaintenanceModeRowId
where DisplayName Like '%%' and userid like '%User name who silenced the URL%'
