Maintenance of Service Desk

Hi all.
Do anybody know what effort is necessary to maintain the Service Desk of the Solution Manager? That means, what costs do I have to expect per month/year? And how long does it take to maintain the Service Desk per month/year and how many people are necessary therefore?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Daniela

Here's how I got it to work:
I started with SAP note 691303. There's a SAP Tutor attached to it that shows you the whole process step by step.
This Tutor unfortunately only shows how you setup an email notification when the status of the ticket changed.
We wanted to have this email notification sent out whenever the processor of the ticket changed. So here's how we did differently to what is shown in the SAP tutor:
In transaction SPPFCADM within your action definition, the rule type for your rule should be 'Workflow condition', not a 'condition using BAdI'.
Also in transaction SPPFCADM within the condition configuration (for transportable conditions) --> choose the action definition that you created in the respective action profile.
In this action you have to define a Schedule Condition e.g. Z_SEND_MAIL_AT_PR_CHANGE. Within this condition you have to define a parameter e.g. PROCESSOR_CHANGED. The definition condition should then be &PROCESSOR_CHANGED& = X.
Furthermore you need to create a BAdI Implementation of BAdI CONTAINER_PPF. The filter should be the object type you used in your transaction type for service desk messages, e.g. object type BUS2000116 in transaction type SLFN. In the interface method MODIFY_CONTAINER you can now set the parameter &PROCESSOR_CHANGED& to X whenever the processor has changed - then an email notification will be sent out. I used function 'COM_PARTNER_READ_DB' to get the previous processor and function 'CRM_PARTNER_READ_SINGLE_OB'  to get the current processor.
This is just an example of how an email notification can be sent out. I guess you will also find the possibility to get the information when something else than the processor has changed and then set a parameter accordingly.
Hope this helps. Susanne.

  • Service-Desk-Message shows 'SLFN0003' instead of 'SUPPORT-TEAM' ??

    Hello together,
    after Initial-Configuration and 75% of the Basis-Configuration (solman_setup) on the Solution-Manager,
the service-desk shows 'SLFN0003' (function) instead of the text of the partner (support team).
We've checked the Partner-Maintenance on SPRO and all fields are correct.
Why does the system shows the wrong value and what's the cause (which step of solman_setup).
thank you for your help in advance
    kind regards

  • Import can only be performed in a Service Desk Transaction

    Hi CHARM gurus,
I'm testing different scenarios in CHARM based on a document posted by Dolores Correa [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=%28J2EE3414900%29ID0826428450DB10670017877649482582End?blog=/pub/wlg/15165]
Here's the scenario: I am in "Development with Release" phase and I created a Normal Correction (SDMJ), created a transport request, then developer released the task under that transport and set the normal correction transaction to "Complete Development". The last action created a transport of copies and exported it. The TOC is now in the QA system buffer waiting to be imported. Now, as an "IT_operator" I want to import the TOC in the QA system. I go to the Normal Correction transaction and select action "Go To Task Plan", which brings me to the task list where I have to option to "import Transport Request" in the Quality Assurance System section. When I execute the "import Transport Request" task I get an informational pop-up saying "This action can only be performed in a Service Desk Transaction"
Am I missing something? What am I doing wrong?
The only way I can import this transport is from STMS. I would think that I should be able to do this from the task plan or even from an action in the Normal correction transaction itself !?!? From what I can see I can only change the maintenance cycle from the service desk transaction (SDMN).
I need some guidance Please. What is the best practice in this scenario.
    Thanks

    Hi Stephane,
I think you are on the right track. While in the task list you should choose the task Import Transport Request (Background), in the section for for the QAS system. There should be two almost identical tasks. Choose the one with the icon that looks like a blue square. Right click on this task and choose "Schedule". This is the standard instruction from SAP and works fine in our SolMan.
    Good luck!
    /Christer

  • Strengths and flaccidities of Service Desk

    Hi all.
In your opinion, what are common strengths and flaccidities of the Service Desk in the Solution Manager? What things are important to name when talking about the Service Desk and his strengths and flaccidities?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards, Daniela

    Hi Daniela,
some hints on strengths of Service Desk within SAP Solution Manager.
    - SAP Standard
    - Part of Standard Maintenance (see SAP Note 628901)
    - Messages can be created in any SAP System and will be saved in SAP Solution Manager.
Context data (system id, client, user, language, transaction, Kernel Level, Support Package level, ...) is collected automatically .
    Attachments are possible
    - Integrated Solution Data Base with TREX search
    - Search for SAP Notes
    - Flexible adaption via customizing possible.
    - Forwarding messages directly to SAP (Service Marketplace)
    - Open bidirectional interface to Third-Party Help Desk.
See further information in the following presentation:
www.service.sap.com/solutionmanager -> Media Library -> Use Case Presentations -> SAP Solution Manager - Service Desk

  • Create new components for service desk

    Hi All,
For Service Desk, to use it for non-SAP components, we are planning to create new Z* components. Can some one tell me how to do it? From reading through the messages, I can see that adding entries to tables - dswp_csncomp and dswpcsncomptxt should be able to create the components. When I tried going to SM30 and provided these table names, its not letting me maintain the tables. When i click Maintain, it gives me the message - "The called function with the view/table DSWPCSNCOMPTXT needs a special maintenance dialog which, however, either does not exist at all, or does not exist completely" - Can some one tell me how this can be done - please ?
    Thanks!

    Hi Jim,
It is sap hierarchy you can't edit it and the thread you are referring to
it is a development they have talked about which i have told you earlier itself but that will create a problem during upgrades and you need to test it everytime after upgrade so you need to check before to go for that development.
Secondly you can go for service desk XT license there is small variation and separate license to be taken and then you can use service desk for NON SAP problem
    like printer not working etc
    Hope it helps.

  • Service Desk - Expert Mode - Not all actions are available

    Dear SAP colleagues,
I have just implemented the Service Desk in our SOLMAN system.
    1. I choose Incident Management
    2. I click on Queries
    3. I click on a ticket (Transaction ID).
    4. I edit the message
    5. When I select Actions, I only have the 4 following options :
        - Send Message to SAP
        - Maintain SAP Logon Data
        - Display SAP Action Log
        - Update SAP Message
When I consult some demos, there are many differents options available in Actions menu, as, for example :
    - Open System fro SAP
    - Confirm Message to SAP
    - E-Mail to Message Creator (Mail)
    - Print Message
    - Create Change Document
    - Call Solution Manager Diagnostics.
Is it due to an missing authorizations (roles and profiles) ?
    Thanks for your input.
    Best regards
    CP2009

    Dear Rajeev,
First of all, thanks for your input.
I have choosen SIVA when I have activated BC Sets.
Should I activate also BC Sets for transaction type SLFN ?
    1. I have started SPPFCADM and follow your recommandations.
    2. I have choosen CRM_ORDER
    3. I have then click on "Condition Configuration (Transportable Conditions)
    4. There are many entries related to the Support and Service Desk
Example : Support Desk Message Action Profile
    I have 5 actions defined -
Action 01 : Send Message to Processor
Action 02 : Create/Change Basis Message from CRM Procedure
Action 03 : Send Notification to SAP
Action 04 : Update Message from SAP
Action 05 : Confirm Message to SAP
I have activate BC Sets for transaction type SIVA, not for SLFN.
    Best regards

    1. if you are on 7.1 you can create message using CRM_UI
    2. If you are using lower vrsion then either you can create message using Workcenter or using transaction NOTIF_CREATE or using menu --> Help --> Create support message.

  • Error creating Service Desk Message in Satellite System

    Hi all
We have two satellite system from which I want to create a Support Message. With my current profile/role and can do it from one system and not from the other system. I get "Error in local message system, message xxx not complete". I dont think it is an Authotization fault, but not sure.
How should the Number ranges be setup for more than one satellite system?
    Thanx
    Jaco Snyman

    Hi Tina
This was my answer in a previuos thread:
    Hi all
I also struggled with this for 2 weeks. But the problem is fixed.
Do your "normal: config from the IMG and then:
    1) Make sure that you have selected for the system NOT to check for the User in SolMan
tr: DNO_CUST04, Go to Detail, Select the field NO_USER_CHECK, "X", this is very important, otherwise you will have to create a username for everyone on the satellite system... far too timeconsuming.
    2) In your satellite system under OSS_MSG: Col1:Application: OSS_MSG, Col2: + : W. Col3: RFC Destination: SM_"SOLMANRFC"_BACK. Col4: + : CUST620. COl5: + : 1.0
In the Solman side you maintain Col3 as "NONE".
    3) Make sure that ALL users in the satellite system has the following roles: SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE and SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN.
    4) Make sure that you have TRUSTED RFC to and from your Satellite system and Solution Manager.
The main one to be sure of is: SAP_ALL for all SOLMANxxx user in the Solution Manager system for every satelite system, because the standard roles from SAP does not work.
This should have your Service Desk Messaging working.

  • Define Service Desk Destination in the Solution Manager System (Dump creen)

    hi,
in SPRO when i click on Define Service Desk Destination in the Solution Manager System
i got dump screen with the error below
    any help?
    Runtime Errors         SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME
    Except.                CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SYNTAX
    Date and Time          13.07.2008 14:05:57
    Short text
A dynamically specified FROM clause has an unexpected format.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLSHI2" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SYNTAX', was not
         caught in
procedure "STREE_READ_NODE_GENER" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a
         RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The running ABAP program attempted to execute an Open SQL statement in
which a FROM clause was specified dynamically in the field "TABLE_NAME". In
         this
FROM clause, either a table name after a join operator is missing, or an
alias name after the key name "AS". The field "TABLE_NAME" could be empty as
        well.

  • How to return an attachment with a smartforms in solman service desk

Does anybody know if it is possible to configure smartforms to send attachments.
We are using the solution manager service desk on service pack 15, and need to be able to send an attachment from this system
When we confirm a case we need to be able to return an attactment on a ticket with the confirmation mail.

    I tried as below
    FND_MESSAGE.SET_NAME('BNE','WEBADI_ERROR');
    FND_MESSAGE.SET_TOKEN('P_UPD_FILE',p_upload_file,false);
    FND_MESSAGE.RAISE_ERROR;
    RESULT --
Output error message is displayed with more than 100 char.
Infact the whole message is displayed BUT it is displayed in some encoded format which we dont need.
Format of the output in the Messages column is as below --
    APPLICATION MESSAGE_NAME N TOKEN_NAME TOKEN_VALUE : ERROR MESSAGE
    eg:
    BNE WEBADI_ERROR N FILENAME PFILENAME : There are errors in Upload file PFILENAME. Please correct and Reupload. test1 test2 test3 test4 test5 test6 test7 test8 test9 LAST
We need the TOKEN because we have to display list of the Error file name along with the error message.
    Any ideas ??

  • How to add an additional fields in VAR Service Desk?

    Dear ALL,
I work in VAR company and we use SAP VAR Service Desk. Our Customer has his own HP Service Desk system. When they creates ticket in SAP VAR Service Desk they are allways creates internal Service Desk number in their HP Service Desk. Now they ask us to create the new field named as "Customer SD number". I searched for the invisible fields but nothing found. And I think it should be like:
    1) Field named as "Customer SD number" and the input field for the Customers HP Service Desk Number
    2) Field on the main scrren of Service Desk where is all tickets.
But this only my assumption, I didn't made like this work before.
May be there is standard schema? I read the integration, but I can not do this because we have other customers with their own Service Desk systems.
    Please help.

    Dear Ahsan Rizvi
    you have take ABPER help
Documentation of the FM BAPI_PO_CHANGE says:
Function module BAPI_PO_CHANGE enables you to change purchase orders. The Change method uses the technology behind the online transaction ME22N.
As we can insert a new item in the ME22N, it will allow us to insert a new PO Line using this FM.
