Make graph transparent to mouse?

Is there any way to allow the mouse to reach behind one front panel object to reach one underneath?  Specifically: I placed a transparent XY graph in front of an Intensity graph, so that I can use its axes in place of the IG axes (left side of attached FP).  However, I can't reach through the transparent part to get at the IG cursor.  Locking the XYG doesn't help (a trick that I use in Corel Draw).
My workaround is to put the XYG in back and make the IG bounding box transparent (right side of attached FP), and I'll do that if I have to.
(That gray bounding box is my bête noire, and I would be happy to truly be rid of it.  But just making it invisible is risky, because it has a tendency to grow when it isn't being watched!  But that's a story for another post).
Thanks!

bracker, I think I am on the way to understanding what you have going on here.  I am attaching a VI where I have used the property nodes to modify the axes of your 2nd set of graphs.  Additionally, I provided the property for which you could read (or write, if you changed it to write) the value of the axes.  I think you may have already done this prior to sending the VI, but we have a lot of properties out there, available via the property node that I think can meet your needs.  Let me know if this helps.

  • Make graph line transparent programmatically

    Hi,
I would like to be able to make graph lines transparent from within LabVIEW.  Is this possible?  I can find property nodes for every other property, but I can't see the one which turns on the Transparent bit.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
By "graph lines" I assume you mean the plotted data? If so, then you could use the property node for "plot color", change it to write and then wire a color box constant set to transparent (T) to it.

  • Looking up the values in a waveform graph with a mouse click

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to look up the values in a waveform graph with a mouse
click but... without the cursor legend on, if i press in the waveform graph
nothing happens, i must search my cursors and only then i can see the values
of my signal data?! Isn't there any other way?
    Best regards,
    Thijs Boerée

    Dear Chad,
I know of the function "bring cursor to center". I also figured out that
when i use a property node of the cursor array of clusters, that i can see
that some values change when i move the cursor (i can see the X and Y scale
value change of the graph and also the values of the mouse pointer (in
points due to screen resolution)) But in this cluster i can't set the mouse
position. I allready made a VI where i can see the bounds of my
waveformgraph and I have the Xscale (min and max) and the Yscale (min and
max), with a linear fit i can translate my mouse position to X an Y scale
values and when i click on my waveform graph the cursor go's to that
position (property node of the cursor position), only disadvantage is that i
only have the bounds of my plot area and not the position, i do have the
position of my waveform graph but the plot area isn't allways in the center,
if i could extract the position of the plot area i may find a solution to
    solve this problem.
And to file a product question:
I would like to see the function that with a mouse click a little menu
appears and that there are options to for example set a marker on that data
and when you right click on it, that there are options to remove it or to
add comment, a 2D array could make a list of the different channels with
it's markers (time stamps and comments).
    Best regards,
And thank you for your help.

  • How do you make images transparent in inDesign?

How do you make images transparent in Adobe InDesign CS5.5?

    Dittco wrote:
It IS possible: Select the image. Open effects (Window > Effects). Switch from "normal" to "multiply". Viola! White background is gone.
That only works with a white background. In addition, it introduces a transparency effect, with its associated problems.
With a rather light background: Select the image. Open clipping path (Object > Clipping Path > Options). Select Type > Detect Edges; use Threshold and Tolerance to get as close as possible to the edge of your image. This may be difficult because of a too low resolution image, or too much fringe on the edge -- if all fails, use the Inset Frame value to force the mask "into" the image. Click OK, and the background is gone.
But that's not the only way: you can always create a clipping path manually, and then you are in total control, not limited by transparency side effects, auto-edge detection, and busy backgrounds.

  • Spherical Photo Gallery how to make a transparent background

    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/index.html
    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/spherical_gallery.zip
I am pretty new to the world of flash, a flash newbie.
Please check link above my question is related to making this sphere gallery.
I am trying to make the background transparent, and i can , when i make it transparent
the navigation for the sphere doesnt let me navigate throught the pictures.
If you look at the code i made it transparent by removing the drawboard function or the fills in the function.
As i said when i do this the navigation seems non functional.
if download link does not work try the other at the top.

    Hi,
Since you had written event handlers on 'board' and board is transparent (without drawBoard function), there will be no events triggered and navigation is not possible. Workaround is to create board with fill = minimum alpha value (0.01).
    board.graphics.beginFill(0x0, 0.01);
Let me know if you need more information.

Or, if you don't like fiddling with Xdefaults file, you can simply make urxvt transparent by executing it like "urxvt -tr -sh 20", where the number represents the transparency level. However, this is only pseudo transparency, but I like it better than resource-consuming compositing.
Will give it a try. I'm not against .Xdefaults - just haven't used it that much and know only the basics ( color schemes )

  • Make a transparent logo

I have an animated logo that I want to use for text and transitions. I need help making it transparent. The logo has a black background. But I want to layer it over video but cannot figure out how to make it transparent. Any help??

Where was this logo created? If it's in a different program you need to export it from there as an Animation file with transparency conserved by setting your colors to Millions of Colors+, as Ian already said.
If you have this file within FCE and have no way of accessing the original project in which it was created, try setting the composite mode to Screen or Add via +Modify > Composite Mode.+

  • Conky: Make graph out of data obtained internally?

In conky, you are able to obtain and use data from an external source by executing a shell command, though you are warned that this is costly. You are also able to make a bar or graph out of externally obtained data, using execbar or execgraph. Similarly, there are certain internal ways to obtain system data and with some of these there are also internal conky functions to make graphs out of this data, like cpu and cpugraph.
What I can't seem to find, however, is a general way to take data obtained from an internal conky function and turn it into a graph or bar, without having to resort to (apparently costly) external commands. Take temperature for example: You are able to obtain your system temperature using the acpitemp or hwmon commands in conky, but there doesn't seem to be any corresponding function to generate a graph of this data. Similarly with battery charge.
Is there some obvious way to do this that I am missing, or do I have to use external commands to get at these things?

    Maurice,
OWB generates optimized code based on whether sources are local or remote. With remote sources, Warehouse Builder will generate code that uses inline views in order to minimize network traffic.
In your case, you confuse the generation by creating a view that does some remote/local joins telling OWB that the object is local (which is only partly true).
Perhaps what you could do is create one-to-one views and leave it up to OWB to join the objects. One additional advantage you gain with this approach is that you can keep track of the impact analysis based on your source tables rather than views that are based on the tables with flat text queries.
    Mark.

how do i make a transparent background in Photoshop Elements 13

    Open the picture file
Use one of the selection tools to select the foreground
Place the selection on its own layer (Layer>New>Layer via copy or CTRL+J) - this will be Layer 1
    Delete the background layer
If you want to save it, use a file format which supports transparency, e.g.PNG
