Makefile problem

Hi all,
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin\javac -classpath .;C:\Program Files\Credence\XTOS\corba-java\;C:\sapphire\java\ test.java
I have the line above in my Makefile and it gives me an error.
It seems that javac is thinking  the space between "Program Files"  is causing the problem.
The error says :
C:\Program Files\Credence\Sapphire\javaCode>C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin\javac -classpat
h .;C:\Program Files\Credence\XTOS\corba-java\;C:\sapphire\java\ test.java
javac: invalid flag: Files\Credence\XTOS\corba-java\;C:\sapphire\java\
Usage: javac <options> <source files>
where possible options include:Anyone seen this before ? This is on 1.4.2 java and Windows XP.
Thanks,
Pat

Putting double quotes around the directory names with spaces should help.
Or use Ant.

I understand that while connected to AC power your performance is good, but once you disconnect and run on battery the performance drops.
You have updated the driver and checked the power plan.
Your system has switchable graphics.   HP 15-d103tx Product Specifications.  Your processor has an integrated Intel 4600 and you have NVIDIA GeForce 820M (2 GB DDR3 dedicated).
When you are connected to AC it uses the high end to deliver the best performance, when you switch to battery, to save power, it switches to the lower end.  You should be able to configure the graphics in the Catalyst Control Center  to change this behaviour.  Here is a link to assist you with that endeavor.

  • Target of makefile-problem SOLUTION

    Hi guys,
yesterday I asked the same question as most of you here. I found
a solution meanwhile that works for me, maybe you give it a try.
The solution is based on the patch available on the oracle
website and the install-guide you can find here:
    http://jordan.fortwayne.com/oracle/817.html
But even with these both documents at hand, I stumbled over an
issue with write-permissions, which is not covered anywhere.
    So take these steps:
    - install Red-Hat 7.2 (or whatever you have)
    - perform the steps outlined in the install document mentioned
    above.
    - when you get to your error message, do the following.
    1) Leave the windows open and open up a new shell-window.
    2) copy the patch from the oracle website to your $ORACLE_HOME
    directory
    3) execute 'tar xvfz glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz' in this directory
    4) Then 'cd lib' and 'chmod a+w stubs'
    5) Then go back 'cd ..' and execute './setup_stubs.sh'
    6) When this script is done with all the relinking, go back to
your still open error-message and click retry. After this you
should be able to finish the install without further problems
    Happy installing,
    Dirk

I have just worked out what was wrong. It is not obvious but this was due to space problems. What I did was ignore the error, went ahead and started the services but the DB creation failed. I then started dbca which warned I may not have enough disk space. Went ahead anyway and it gave me a write error. I then removed the extracted copies of the Software(Oracle 9iR2) from which I did the install which ws still on my system, made space for the DB creation. I still had the "shared memory segment" error which has been addressed on www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.html. So you might want to take cue from this because I created the DB manually and now everything is fine. Mine is a DataWarehouse DB. Thanx

  • Big problem with e100 driver

    Y halo thar fellow Archers,
I love this distro. I have it installed on my laptop, my desktop (with three monitors!), my netbook, my 32 gig USB drive, my old, otherwise non-functioning iPod, my kerosene-powered cheese grater, my mom's laptop, my grandparents' computer, and any other device I could get my hands on. So, I got my hands on my wife's mother's computer and I thought it would be a quick and easy install. It uses the e100 driver, which is known as a very well-functioning one out of the box. I forget the exact model, but it's an Intel Pro 100/10 8somethingsomething xx/xx/xx/xx Rev 3. I should've saved the lspci output on a disk, but I didn't. Anyway, udev loaded it and eth0 shows up in ifconfig, but..
    iwconfig's output:
    lo         no wireless extensions
    eth0     no wireless extensions
I couldn't set the essid, scan for networks or anything.
So, I rmmoded e100 and modprobed it back in. I autoloaded it in rc.conf. I tried restarting the network daemon, rebooting, everything imaginable. Still, nothing. So, I tried some other modules. e1000 didn't display eth0 at all. Same with e1000e. I downloaded the tarball of it from sourceforge, both the newest version and the next available one (.17 and .14 I believe). The make file had some strange CFLAGS error so I replaced that with something else in the make file, and it showed another error saying it couldn't find a directory like linux/something.h. Long story short, it's definitely e100 that works but I couldn't replace the one that comes with arch with the one at sourceforge because of makefile problems.
So... I'm sorry I couldn't provide better information. I didn't have anything to save the outputs on and I don't have the computer at hand right now.
I guess I can ndiswrapper it... But I really dislike going that route and e100 is supposed to work well for like 95% of users out-of-the-box.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Justin

It looks like the e100 driver is working already. You have the "eth0: No wireless extensions" line in your iwconfig output.
e100 is the driver for Intel 10/100 Mbit wired Ethernet devices. It has nothing to do with wireless networking.
I would also recommend not installing your favourite OS on any systems you can boot from a disc or a USB memory stick... People have a tendency to get a little touchy when they can't run Quicken or whatever arcane Windows application they use their computers for.

  • Package-accessable class elements

Can anyone help me with a makefile problem?
When I make on unix from the following makefile, classes from
other files in the same package as MainHandler cannot access
a non-public class in the MainHandler file. Even though they are in
    the same package.
Also this same code compiles and works fine on windows using JBuilder,
i.e., The classes in these other files can access the class in MainHandler fine.
Am i missing some additional makefile directive??

    CLSDIR=classes
    CLASSPATH=$graphics
    PKGDIR=mypkg
    SRCDIR=src/$PKGDIR

    javac -classpath $CLASSPATH -d $CLSDIR -deprecation $SRCDIR/Com1.java
    cd classes/mypkg
    chmod 777 *.*
    cd ../..
    cd $CLSDIR
    jar -cfM MainHandler.jar $PCKDIR
    chmod 777 MainHandler.jar

    maybe do this:
    javac -classpath $CLASSPATH -d $CLSDIR -deprecation $SRCDIR/*.java
    Or maybe start using Ant.
Although I'm not sure why it would be a problem except that your classpath stuff is wrong when you run it.

  • Makefile Installation problem

While installing oracle9i client on linux, I get this message:
Error in invoking target install makefile /u01/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/client/lplsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk
I looked up the make file and could do nothing to help. so I selected the 'ignore' option. It happened to all other make files too and I selected 'ignore' for all of them. Eventually, some tools did not get installed and I'll like to ask what I can do to install them.
    Thanks,
    Kunle

While installation when installer calls for Disk 3 before that do that
open %Oracle home/bin/genclnsh file edit it
    and remoke the line
LD_SELF_Contained='z -def" remove it and save and close that file now open relink file
and change the path MAKE=/usr/ccs/local/bin to /usr/local/bin remove ccs and save then insert cd 3 and continue installation no problem will arise

Anybody help me to solve this problem????

Another approach is to create makefile macros that point to the compiler: You can generatlize them to allow plugging in different compilers and tools by changing only one macro:
    BIN = /path/to/installation/bin
    CC = $(BIN)/cc
    CCC = $(BIN)/CC
Now you use $(CC) for the C compiler, and $(CCC) for the C++ compiler.
You can add other macros for other related tools, like bcheck or dbx.
If you want to use a different compiler release, you just change the BIN macro. You can edit the Makefile, or you can put the macro on the command line:
    make BIN=/path/to/other/bin/ ...

  • Problem with threads...

    HI friends...
I am trying to make a server with a logging facility...
Let me explain the schema of the process...
    1. the server starts as a thread and listens on port 9999 for any client.
    2. when a client is accepted a PROCESS thread is started and the server gets back to listening.
    3. now the PROCESS thread starts a initializes a LOGGER and listens the inputstream for any message from the client. the LOGGER initializes a log file and when a message is recieved it writes to the log file.
    4. when a second client is connected to the server steps 2 and 3 take place.
but now the problem is ... when the second client connects to the server, the logger stops writing the messages of the first client to log1 but continues writing the messages of client1 & client2 to log2.
please give me a solution for this.
i can send you the project if you want to take a look at it.

  • Oracle 10g installation problem on RHEL4

    hi,
I am installing oracle 10g on red hat linux. I read the complete documentation and the mailing lists and have installed all the required RPMs.
When I start install, I get the following three errors:
error in invoking target 'install' of makefile
    'u/01/app/oracle/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk'.
error in invoking target 'agent nmo nmb' of makefile
    'u/01/app/oracle/ctx/lib/ins_sysman.mk'.
error in invoking target 'all_no_orcl' of makefile
    'u/01/app/oracle/ctx/lib/ins_rdbms.mk'.
This error is popped up when the link part is going on. I am installing the standard edition and have done all the possible things mentioned in the documentation.
Can someone pls help me understand where is the problem
    thanx in advance,
    jayesh

i had the same sequence of errors on installing (10g on Redhat AS4)
The first error (INFO: /usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory
) is solved by installing the following package (you need the glibc-devel i386 package installed as well as the x86_64 version)
    up2date --arch=i386 glibc-devel
The second error, I am currently stuck at (error in invoking target agent nmo nmb...of makefile ins_sysman.mk)
    INFO: /app/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/lib32//libnls10.a(lmsagb.o)(.text+0xa3): In function `lmsagbcmt':

Your kind assistance will be highly appreciated!

I didn't install the whole OS but just some packages that contain required rpms by Linux Redhad 4. I guess I accidently missed a package. In order to make sure that I have installed all necessary packages, I just re-installed the OS with care. Thanks for your advices.
The Oracle DB installation was successful, however, after I installed the Oracle HTTP Server and then stop the HTTP Server, I can't start it again. The following is the error message.

I have create the group and user for installation, install Java
SDK 1.3.1 and set the path. Can anyone show me some directions
about what is the problem and how to solve the problem?

    Thanks Olaf Tiemann,
I have not installed those packages yet and try the installation
    again.
Finally I install the Oracle successfully and get the DB
running, though there are still 2 minor errors.
    1. Error in invoking target relink of
    makefile /oracle/OraHome/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk, the patch glibc-
2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz seems does not relink/replace this .mk file
    2. Error when running the Root.sh, there are 2 sytnax errors at
    the beginning of the script
It will be perfect to get rid of these 2 errors.
    Anyway, my DB gets running.
