Makepkg modprobes nvidia on tango-icon-theme

Hi,
I wanted to install tango-icon-theme but it fails when I run makepkg:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nvidia': Operation not permitted
This message is repeated around once per second until I kill it.
Of course it fails in doing this because I don't run makepkg as root. But why is it doing modprobe?

In my installation it currently provides mainly ...devices/multimedia-player-... icons.

  • Tango-icon-theme gone?

I just ran my desktop build script and I've noticed tango-icon-theme is gone from the repos. What's happened?

I've just noticed that http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Library is back.
I don't know if this means we'll get tango-icon-theme back into the repos, if this is important or not..
I just thought I'd mention it as I noticed the site was back when checking something else.

  • [Solved] I have Tango (Tango icon theme), but GTK ignore it

I have set "Tango" in config file of GTK (.gtkrc-2.0):
    gtk-icon-theme-name = "Tango"
    and installed tango-icon-theme form AUR:
    /usr/local/share/icons/Tango/index.theme (I see it!)
but PCManFM ignore it when I start new thread... (GTK greeter and etc.) Installation was so simple: ./configure; make; sudo make install... What can I do?
    Thank you!

  • Icon theme problem

Hello. I have installed icewm, rox, gnome-icon-theme, and tango-icon-theme. I use rox filer to manage the icon the themes and desktop. The problem is that some icon themes display correctly (eg gtsand) and others don't (eg tamiga). In the case of tamiga, the tango icon theme is being used instead of the tamiga theme. Here's what I've tried:
    1. installed tamiga  icon theme to /usr/share/icons and ~/.icons (not at the same time)
    2. checked to see that rox is using theme (~/.config/rox.soruceforge.net/ROX-Filer/options)
    3. tried adding icon path to ~/.gtkrc-2.0 (I don't think rox uses this)
    4. tried editing the "inherits" line in the index.theme file (Inherits=Tango, gnome, hicolor). when I switched the positions of tango and gnome, the gnome icon theme was used. added Gnome and GNOME.
    5. browsed the forums
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
    john

I know how to change themes using the method you described; however, the icon theme that is displayed is tango. I clearly chose tamiga, and the rox file in ~/.config points to the tamiga icon theme. So my question is why isn't the tamiga theme being used? Does it have something to with the inherits line in the icon cofig file? Is there some other problem? Some icon themes display correctly, but not others.
    Thanks for trying!

  • [SOLVED] small tango icons in file manager

I've installed the tango icons from AUR. But the problem is the size of the icons is too small in the file manager i used (both thunar and rox) even though i've zoom it. I think the picture below will describe it better:
    [URL=http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=thunaroq4.jpg][/URL]
I've done a search in this forum. Someone said something about recompiling the tango icons. Done that but the icons are still small. Anybody has any idea?
    Thanks!

tango-icon-theme probably should have librsvg as a depend. Please post a bug report.

  • Tango-Green icon theme screwed my home folder!

    http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. … tent=38211
I switched to the tango-green icon theme.  Ever since, my home folder has been screwed up.  Half the folders are at the top, the other half at the bottom after a mile of scrolling.  Also, the little picture that's usually on the Desktop folder is chilling at a random place (not even on an icon, weird).  This fixes itself when I switch back to the standard theme.  I really like this icon set, though.  Is there a way to fix this?

  • Little question about a Claws-Mail tray icon theme, and how to use it.

There is a Claws Mail tray icon theme available on gnome-look.org:
    http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … tent=71540
These are the instructions the author gives to install the theme:
    Claws Mail Tango trayicon theme
    Claws-Mail version = 3.3.0
copy icons claws-mail-3.3-0/src/pixmaps, recompile and install.
So what am I supposed to do (especially since the newest Claws Mail version is 3.4.0...)?

I would recommend using ABS. just makepkg -o first so the sources get DL'd and unpacked. copy your icons and makepkg -e so the sources are not extracted again and therefore your new icons overwitten.
    finally, enjoy some awesomeness:

  • Icon-theme changes problem[SOLVED]

I have murrine-engine, aurora-engine installed. I have installed gtk-engine-equinox and are trying to use equinox-evolution theme with Faenza icon-theme. I had a nice desktop for a couple of days. Yesterday it reverted back to the original icon-theme. Now I cannot change the icon-theme at all. I don't get it. Why is it OK one day but not the next? I have the themes in /usr/share/themes and ~/.themes. Same with icons. Same icons in both directorys. I'm running x86_64 and gnome.
OK. Had to remove all other icon-themes from ~/.themes. Why is it so?

    Hello guys,
I don't need any icon theme because I use a shell in most of the cases. But as I have to use pcmanfm it always appears that annoying message. Can it be deactivated in any way?

    @ Sharpsy,
that worked thank you. Haven't thought about that idea, because I wasn't sure whether it works when Tango isn't installed.
    Thank you.

  • Tango icons for Exaile users

    Hi!
I created a set of tango icons in a nice package for Exaile users.  This package covers all of the non-logo icons in exaile/images and exaile/images/default_theme.
If you would like to use these icons, you will need to extract the tar.bz2 file and then put the icons in /usr/share/exaile/images (if you are using the stable version of exaile.)
I suggest you backup your /usr/share/exaile/images directory before placing these icons.

Nice looking icons, but maybe my opinon is a bit obvious since I have used them when I have created cd-labels, wallpapers and themes for gdm/slim.  Thanks for letting me use them.

The reason why I am posting in this thread is that I have found some errors in 4 of the icons. BTW I have corrected these errors so it hopefully want appear in future artworks. I can remove the corrected versions (at least from the server where they are hosted) if you really want to correct the errors by yourself. The first error I found was that the shadow only looks good on light background colors and especially   white. The second error wasn't that obvious, it needed some scaling in gimp to really see it. The error is that it seems like the shadow is to large which means that it will be cut.

  • GTK Icon Theme

I get this error when running switch:
    /home/aquafox/.gtkrc.mine:1: error: unexpected identifier `gtk-icon-theme-name', expected keyword - e.g. `style'
    This error running nitrogen:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Gtk::IconThemeError'
    Aborted
    This is my .gtkrc.mine file:
    gtk-icon-theme-name = "Tango"
Am I doing anything wrong? Or is the new gtk broken?

Hehe, whatever works. I suppose. I got that same nitrogen error before and installing gnome-icon-theme is what fixed it for me. Definitely a strange error.

  • E17 and hicolor-icon-theme

    hi all
i am new to e17, and have met some problems with icons
many apps dependes on hicolor-icon-theme (such like firefox).
but it seems that e17 can not find the icons in a icon theme
(can not find firefox.png in /usr/share/icon/hicolor/48x48/apps/firefox.png)
i have searched and the google says icon theme can be choosed in [ settings > setting panel > look > icon theme ]
but there is no icon theme
so how can i use hicolor icon themes in e17 without change the icon section in .desktop file
    thanks

Well I don't use the e17 packages provided by Arch, because they seem to lack a few modules that I use, but you could try to download easy_e17.sh (either get the package, or just download it from the source using google), and then compile e17 yourself straight from the source.
If you do so, you should note that the script hasn't been updated in a while, so I had to add engage manually in the e_modules_extra part of the script (and remove the modules it replaces, whose name I forgot...)
I also remember having the same trouble a long time ago, and fixing it by creating a .gtkrc-2.0 file in my home containing the following:
    gtk-icon-theme-name="Tango"
    include ".gtkrc-2.0-gnome-color-chooser"
Obviously changing Tango to hicolor-icon-theme. Can't tell if it'll work though, I can't exactly remember why I had to do this, and it might be severely deprecated (my /home partition is quite old, as I never reformat it)
Lastly, some things can be a pain to configure through e17 settings panel, and are actually system-wide settings (not just e17 specific), so a solution would be to install the kdebase metapackage, and launch the KDE settings panel using systemsettings in the terminal. From here you can set the icon theme by going to Application Appearance -> Icons.

  • Tango icon set large toolbars

when i set Tango as my icon theme is .gtkrc.mine:
    gtk-icon-theme-name = "Tango"
    gtk-toolbar-style = GTK_TOOLBAR_ICONS
    gtk-toolbar-icon-size = GTK_ICON_SIZE_SMALL_TOOLBAR
my toolbar icons (in inkscape, for example) become big, 22x22.
but when i comment out "gtk-icon-theme-name = "Tango" line, toolbar icons become 16x16, which is what i prefer. how can i make Tango follow this?

Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

  • [CLOSED] gnome 3 icon themes

    Hey all,
Recently installed/upgraded to Arch with gnome 3.  I've checked the wiki here:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gnome_3#Icon_theme
    and I'm still confused.
Is there a way to install the shiki icon themes from AUR, or any shiki icons into gnome 3?

    My knowledge is:
all is compatible, BUT the xdg-user-dirs show the fallback icons (same isue w tango-icons)
if you NOT make you "well know Directories" trow xdg-user-dirs-update, you no have problem (you can use gnome2 icons)
but if you have a ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs w content generated by xdg-user-dirs-update, the "well know directoris" not are showed
faenza, awoken and others WELL complete iconset not have the issue
