  • Problem in making exe file for java application

    helo,
    i tried to make an windows installer packge for my jar file using advance installer. There is one option for including JRE with this package. i included jre package also.otherwise ,the applicaiton will not work in client side,if java is not installed in his system.
    But the problem is after i make the setup including JRE ,the size of the file become 26mb. So,it took long time to download the application.
    What are the essential jav files we have to include while makes the setup for running the application.I included all the JRE folder itself.
    So the size become heavy. Anybody plz help me solve this
    regards

    Make a .jar which is javas equivalent to .exe.Then for the "..setup file.." offer the end user a JWS *(<- link)* based launch that will offer desktop integration (desktop shortcut and menu item) as well as access to automatic updates and much more. JWS will, of course, also work for Mac and Linux OS's.

  • Creation of exe file in java

    Hello friends,
    I am new to this forum. I want to know how to create an exe file in java. Is it possible to continue executing a jar file without java run time?

    Are you sure you want to do this?
    What is your reason for wanting no JRE? If it is speed then you will not get any.
    Would packaging the JRE + application in a single installer be acceptable?
    The guys at JET (a maker of a Java to native compiler) have written a good overview of your options.

    i want to launch my java code in .exe fashion just clickk and u get output.....
    but as far i have seen in java there is only class file as output and every time to

    What is the repalcement of .exe file in Java .Though there is no replacement as it would defy java's claim 'write once run anywhere' (or whatever it is) but jars are as good as exes if you have jre installed....

  • Can i create an exetutable (.exe) program with java???????

    I would like to learn how i can create an exetutable (.exe) program with java.
    Is there any additional package which i should download or buy it?
    Also i would like to write files into CD's direct from my application.
    Is there any library which i must download or buy?
    Thanks!

    check out the free open source GNU gcj native compiler for Java to see if it will do what you want.
    http://gcc.gnu.org/java/
    for writing data files you could use java.io.BufferedWriter. For sound files, look in the javax.sound package

  • Process (.exe) run from java

    Hi all,
      I need to run a ".exe" from my .java file. I have developed a sample Swing GUI application that calls a ".exe" from my program. The application contains a dialog box. The dialog contains a text box and a button. When user will enter some number in the text box and hits the button a ".exe" will be called. That ".exe" in turn will perform a DB activity, fire some sql queries and insert some data into the database. The 32 bit ".exe" is built in Visual studio and developed by C++.
    The problem is that when I am entering some number and pressing the button, the ".exe" file is invoked and the process starts running, but I could not be able to see the data that is inserted into the database after the tested time of process run. I could see the data in table only when I quit my java swing application by closing the dialog.
    What I mean by tested time of process run is that, I have tested the ".exe" separately by running the same from a batch file. That is running fine and data is inserted into database like a charm. I want the same from java code.
    Programmatically what I did to run the .exe is as follows:
    String[] cmdArray = new String[3];
    cmdArray[0] = "testRun.exe";
    cmdArray[1] = "some args";
    cmdArray[2] = "some args";
    Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmdArray,null);
    It will be of great help if anybody can figure out where the actual problem is.
    My program is not even multithreaded. The whole thing is written inside the main thread itself as in normal case.
    Thanks in Advance.....

    The process must issue a COMMIT before the data will be visible to ANY other session.

  • How can I call .exe file in java

    Hello,

  • How can i modify exe resource in java?

    How can i modify exe resource in java?
    No jni
    thx.

    if it is .NET code decompilation is possible if, and only if the code is not Packed by protections!
    but if the EXE file is native and created by VB 6.0,C/C++,Delphi,... it is not possible to obtain source code from it, not as far as i know.
    (some program does it , but the returned source code is as useful as its assembly code in debugger).
    if decompilation was that easy then Reverse Engineering was no longer needed!
    What program it is so that can put two exe file into each other ?
    the program you seen might put second exe file into its DATA section then when it executes ,
    it jumps to data section of itself!
    otherwise it is not possible.
    Good luck.

  • Making a database in Java

    would making a database in Java be hard especially if I wanted to incorporate SQL into the data base?

    can I make a program that will interact with a database (lets say oracle)Google for jdbc tutorial.
    in such a way where i can use arrays to store information and then sort through the arrays at a latter time by use of a search method to find and pull specific information? or would i even need a data base for this type of project?That's very vague, and arrays really have nothing to do with it. You will define classes in Java, such as, say, Student, Course, Instructor, Classroom, etc. A given application or feature will use some or all of those classes. If an application needs to be able to do things like "print the class list for a given student," and "find the classrooms available for a particular course," and a dozen others, then, yes, you probably want a database to manage the relationships, searching, filtering, and all the stuff that a DB is made for. If, on the other hand, it's just a simple app that displays a few things, lets you select something, and maybe retrieves a few simple objects by fixed keys like name or ID, then a DB is probably overkill.the relationship is what i want to do, so now i wonder - how do you create an application in java to interact with a database?

  • How to create the exe files for java application

    How to create the exe file for java application?
    got any software to do that?
    Thanks

    In terms of converting java applications into exe files, there are 3 schools of thought:
    1) Instead of converting it to an exe, convert it to a jar file. Jar files are more portable than exe files because they can be double-clicked on any operating system. The caveat is that a Java interpreter must be installed on the target computer for the double-clicking to work.
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/Books/javaprogramming/JAR/
    2) Create an exe launcher that, when double-clicked, attempts to find a Java interpreter on the local computer and launches the Java application. The exe file is still double-clickable but whether your java application runs depends on whether a Java interpretor is installed on the target computer.

    http://www.rolemaker.dk/nonRoleMaker/javalauncher/
    http://www.jelude.cjb.net/
    http://thor.prohosting.com/~dfolly/java/index.html
    3) Create an exe launcher that bundles a Java interpretor. Same as above but when the exe file is double-clicked, it searches for a Java interpreter and if one is not found, it installs one on the target computer. The caveat is that the exe file would have an overhead of 10 MB in size for the interpreter.
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html (evaluation version available)
    4) Convert the Java application into a native exe file. The caveat is that if you use Swing for your GUI, it won't be converted. Also this option is still somewhat experimental.
    Can't think of any free options right now.
