Making parameter fields output only dynamically

Hi all!
I have four different radiobuttons in a selection screen and when some of them are chosen I want some parameter fields in the selection screen to be output only. Is that possible or do parameter fields have to be made output only in the at selection-screen output event?

Transaction programming - Making screen fields 'output only'

Hi all,
I have a problem concerning a screen - it is so that the screen is used by several transactions - Create 'plan', Display 'plan' and Change 'plan'.
When it's called from the 'Display' transaction I want the screen to be output-only. So I wrote something like this:
MODULE modify_screen OUTPUT.

The problem is that this screen contains a tabstrip control. The subscreens on the pages of the tabstrip control contain table controls, and the table controls refer to some internal tables in the program.
All the fields which I want to make 'output only' are fields of internal tables beginning with 'I_AFPL' that's why the condition...
This works very well for the fields on the main screen, but not for the fields of the table controls on the tabstrip control... and I'm calling that module from the main screen and also from the subscreens of the 'pages' of the tabstrip control. In the debugger I see that the input is set to 0 but when the screen 'comes on screen' I can still do input in those fields...
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

for table control to disable a column we use the cols property in the screen'..the tablecontrol-cols is set to zero to inactivate a column
Now assume the name of your table control is ZTABLECONT..double click on the screen painter on the table control..these 2 names must be the same....
if you need to disable columns of table control as a part of user action..like say click of a button..it can be entered in PAI by checking the sy-ucomm
data declaration:
data : cols like line of ZTABLECONT-cols.
Case sy-ucomm.
when 'PUSH'.
loop at ZTABLECONT-cols into cols.
if cols-screen-input = '1'.
cols-screen-input = '0'.
endif.
modify ZTABLECONT-cols from cols index sy-tabix.
endloop.
endcase.
This will disable all the columns
for a particular column do the following
For this imagine you have 5 columns
in the below code
index = 1 => column 1
index = 2 => column 2
index = 3 => column 3
index = 4 => column 4
index = 5 => column 5
in the below code , only column2 will be disabled....
so whicever column you want to disable ..just give the index
for multiple disabling..just write the code accordingly
LOOP AT ZTABLECONT-cols INTO cols WHERE index = 2.
IF cols-screen-input = '1'.
cols-screen-input = '0'.
ENDIF.
MODIFY ZTABLECONT-cols FROM cols INDEX sy-tabix.

Make SAP standard PO fields output only using ME22N?

Is there a way to suppress the standard SAP fields (output only) when the user selects ME22N, that will still allow input to custom fields which have been added to EKPO? Has anyone had to do this before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, there is probably a better forum for this question, this is more of a NetWeaver discussion forum.
If I read your question correctly, your desire is to have only certain fields (some custom) available when users execute the transaction ME22N. First, don't mess with ME22N, if you desire custom performance, create a new transaction as a copy of ME22N and make available only those standard and custom fields you want. Hope this helps...

Address fields output only

Hi,
In our IC webclient, when we enter a business partner, if nothing is entered in the address fields it creates ok but when we come back to change the partner again, the address fields are output only, so we can't enter anything in them. If we do enter address details when we create the partner, they are available ok for changing at a later date.
Can anyone offer any advice on how we solve this ? I've taken a look at transaction BUCG. The fields in question are set to 'optional'.

Making a field read only (and bound) or editable depending on some criteria

Hi,
I am using Netweaver 2004s SP15 and Adobe Lifecycle Designer 7.1 with Web Dynpro for Java.
I am generating a PDF that contains a number of fields that are bound context values attribues.
Now I know according to certain criteria if any given field will have a value....
Now if such a given field has a value then it must populate the Adobe form and make that field read-only - so it can not be changed.
However, if that field has no value.. instead I need to make it editable.
I am re-implementing the application this will be used within; and the previous version had 8 different interactive forms to cater for the 8 different possible combinations of fields that would not have values.
I would really really prefer to have one interactive form to maintain with logic in it that determines dynamically if a field should be read-only or editable. (For example I could have a boolean context node that could be used)
Am I doomed to have to create 8 different forms? Or is there a way of doing this smarter?

I did a search through the forum using the phrase "javascript" and it turned out a lot posts that indicate that this should indeed be possible.
I am boggled, the original application was developed by an Indian outsourcing company that is well respected. The developer who took over maintenance of it told me that it was impossible to change the read only nature of the fields once set at design-time.
My search through the forum has turned up much to indicate that this design was idiotic and the "facts" I was given completely wrong.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I am marking this as answered now. I will have to learn some javascript.
Are there any caveats for using it within WDJ?
I am assuming I can do something simple in pseudo-code.. (I will need to work out the Javascript version).

Is it possible to display only dynamically selected fields in the out put? i need to display set of columns in the selection criteria, but in the output i have display only input given fields. because i need to convert it into .csv file. So i have to display selected fields from internal table. In oracle they are using"execute immediate". is there any equivalent in SAP?

If yes, there are concepts like RTTS which facilitates it.
Yes, the select query also supports dynamic selection of fields. ( Please care about ( ) in dynamic sql ).
Do more research on Field Symbols and statements like ASSIGN COMPONENT OF.

Hi,Using Crystal Report XI.I have a parameter field with Dynamic values that Queries the company field of an SQL Database.I have around 3500 companies in my DB. But when running my report (Using Crystal), only the first 1300 companies are being displayed in my pick list.I need to see the whole 3500 records. Any idea how to fix that?regards

SQL Subscription field shows * only with Dynamic Text Label in SQL query

We are using Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.x for showing budget and actual data. I have to show this financial data based on the security e.g. person in IT can see only IT dept. data. Hence I want to use dynamic text label <<userid>> for the security based on the person logging in to Analyzer.
But when I use dynamic text label <<userid>> in the SQL query in SQL Spreadsheet, SQL Subscription field shows * only selection option. Does anyone have idea how to solve this problem?

Okay i know this is a bit crazy way.....but i think this is the solution for your issue.
Create a report without the where clause (<<useris>>) then add a filter (sql subscription) then you can find all the values that are there in the SQL field (try to increase the query limit it is set to 250 as default) then edit the spreadsheet and add the where clause (<<userid>>).
This will help you having the filter and the dynamic text label. I think there is an issue when you try to filter it with a where clause.

Through User Exit you get this requirement plese take help of ABAPer to activate the user exit according to your requirement.
Try With this User Exit
Program MV45AFZZ
USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION
This user exit can be used to modify the attributes of the screen fields.
To do this, the screen fields are allocated to so-called modification groups 1 - 4 and can be edited together during a modification in ABAP. If a field has no field name, it cannot be allocated to a group.
The usage of the field groups (modification group 1-4) is as follows:
Modification group 1: Automatic modification with transaction MFAW
Modification group 2: It contains 'LOO' for step loop fields
Modification group 3: For modifications which depend on check tables or on other fixed information
Modification group 4: is not used
The FORM routine is called up for every field of a screen. If you require changes to be made, you must make them in this user exit.
This FORM routine is called up by the module FELDAUSWAHL.
See the Screen Painter manual for further information on structuring the interface.

Custom infotype - issues with conversion class - making fields display only

I created the custom infotype 9008 using t-code PM01, created conversion class ZCL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_9008_XX and assigned it to screen structure ZHCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R9008 in the view V_T588UICONVCLAS. Coded the methods IF_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_STANDARDOUTPUT_CONVERSION and IF_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_STANDARDINPUT_CONVERSION. I'm trying to make some fields display only within the method OUTPUT_CONVERSION dynamically. Coded the check class ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9008 with business logic.
Everything seems to be working fine when I test using the test tool through t-code PUIT_UI.
When I try to create/modify 9008 record through PA30, the code in the methods OUTPUT_CONVERSION and INPUT_CONVERSION is never getting executed. The control is not coming there at all. The fields are allowing input. Any idea why this is happening.
We are on ECC 6.0 and at service pack level SAPKE60035. Couldn't find any relevant SAP notes as well. Appreciate your help in this regard.

Making a field as display only in custom Infotype.

Hi,
I have to a requirement to make a field as display only in a custom infotype. This field should be greyed out while entering data via PA30 for any employee such that it wont allow to eneter data manually but it gets updated by a program. And also this field should have a default value , say, NO.
Please help me as this is too urgent.

Please go to Screen Painter SE51 for your custom infotype program MP9XXX00
9XXX - infotype number.
Go to Layout editor for your Single screen (Screen Number 2000)
Double click on the field you want to make display only
In the screen attributes DISPLAY OPTIONS for that field choose "Output Only"
Activate Layout.
If you want to code something to be populated for the field code in PAI or PBO modules in the Module pool program
Its very easy.

Need help with parameter fields and report selection.

I hope some one can help me with the problem I am having with my parameter field and record selection.
First, can anyone explain to me why my parameter field CustStart, which is dynamic and is based on the field Customer in the table CustMaster. There are over 1800 records in the CustMaster table but the drop down list only shows maybe about half of them and there is no way to scroll down to the last customer record. What am I doing wrong?
Second, is there any way to base a parameter field on a formula field on my report? On my report I have created a field Cust that is the customer name and number joined together in one field. I would very much llike to use this formula in my record selection and in my parameter field. Can it be done?

You can use the following for changin increasing the LOV.
Crystal Reports XI BusinessObjects Enterprise XI
For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
Resolution
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
CAUTION     The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
Crystal Reports XI Release 1
1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.

Pass the results from a selection formula to the default values for a parameter field

I want to create a parameter field that will display all of our IT Departments so the end user can select the one they want to run the report against, such as IT-Security, IT-Network, etc. about 40 in all. BUT I donu2019t want this to be a static list where I type in all 40 depts in the default list, I was hoping I could do something more dynamic such a formula field that says u201C if {group.name startswith u2018ITu2019 then {group.name}u201D and then have the parameter field pull from this source.
Iu2019m sure this has been answered in a previous post but Iu2019m not finding it. I see stuff on creating a record selection formula such as u2018if {?group} like u2018IT-Secur*u2019 thenu2026u201D but this leaves too much room for error if people donu2019t type the name correctly. Maybe Iu2019m not using the record selection formula correctly? Sorry if I offend anyone but I just upgraded from 8 to 10 and thought for sure this option would be in 10, perhaps built right into the parameter default value page where you can place in select criteria but NOTHING has changed.

if you are creating the parameters in the rpt file, it will only pull values you enter, or directly from the database
in the record selection you can do something like this, so if they only enter the first 2 characters it should pick up only the IT etc.
(if eft(,2)={?parameter} then true else ={?parameter})
